This is our second visit to Cornerstone and just like the last visit I really loved the entire experience!!!!! Food is amazing and staff is top notch!!!! The place is something special!!!!

We arrived at the place a few minutes before closing. In spite of this, they couldn't have been more accommodating. They prepared everything that we wanted and made sure that we weren't lacking for anything. Since it was after closing as we were eating, they were starting to put things away, but asked us several times if we wanted any coffee or pastries before they were put away for the night. My wife had a wrap, my son had a sandwich and I had a scramble. All were really tasty and the portion size was good. Everyone was friendly and asked us several times if we were needing anything. They didn't push us to finish up early even though I'm sure they were ready to go home. If/when we are back in Ruidoso, we will be back here - but promise to come in earlier.

The best place in Ruidoso to eat. The food is amazing. The French toast and the Colorado croissant I highly recommend. The wait staff is sweet and kind. Good people, good food, and to die for desserts. The only place we can depend on in Ruidoso to be as great as it was the previous visit.
(5)Austin C.
Excellent service and prices are very good considering this is a tourist town. Coffee was outstanding and wife's hot chocolate was hand made. Belgium waffle was outstanding and their selection of pastries was unbelievable. They offer kids play dough to play with while waiting on your food

Not sure why the people with the bad reviews had those experiences but sometimes people just attract problems. This was our first time and we plan on coming back tomorrow on the way out of town. Pat was a great waitress and Bonnie (manager) was very friendly. I had the Capitan BEST and it was delicious! My wife had the Placitas Platter and she almost finished it herself because it was so good. She tried both the piñon and thunderbolt flavors and enjoyed them both from the self serve coffee bar. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast.
(5)Kim H.
What a wonderful surprise this unassuming cafe turned out to be. We happened upon it while trying to decide on a place for lunch that our party of four could agree on. this turned out to be the perfect place. They serve breakfast and lunch all day so we could satisfy everyone. The juevos rancheros were the best I've ever had. And the service was outstanding. Such a friendly, lively place.

We ate breakfast here twice while on vacation in Dec 2014. Great experience both times. The food was great, the service was great, and the bakery items were great. We brought home a loaf of of their green chili cheese bread and some pastries and all were excellent. The perfect place for breakfast before you hit the town or the slopes!

Okay let me just start by saying that I am a Texan. This means I am from a family that is down to earth and well mannered. I was quite surprised by the service. Not because it was good but because it was absolutely TERRIBLE. This place is not organized at all. I hated it. I will NEVER return honestly the only thing that is good that I had was the spinach and artichoke soup. I ordered a burger medium rare with Swiss cheese, avocado, and bacon. Shouldn't be that difficult right? WRONG!! Whenever I received my burger it was WELL DONE, didn't have the avocado or the bacon on it. So while my family is eating I am looking for my waitress who has honestly been a complete witch the entire visit. I go on to tell her that they must have forgotten to put the avocado and bacon on my burger. She went on to ask me for my plate and said sorry. But not without an eye roll first. No that would be IMPOSSIBLE. I took a deep breath because I can NOT stand to be disrespected. She brought my burger back 5 minutes later. I told myself okay that's fine let me just eat I have driven 10 hours from South Texas to have a nice vacation. My burger was cold. It was COLD. After waiting 45 minutes to be seated I thought the food would at least be decent. Boy was I wrong. Not only did all of this happen but I don't know if you have ever been to Texas but we have THICK burgers not McDonald's thin burgers like what I received at this café. Needless to say I did not have a good experience and the food was not good at all. I will NEVER be coming back to that café. If I was you I wouldn't waste your time at that café. There are many better places to eat at in this town. My personal favorite is the Dreamcatcher Café. Try that one instead.

The service here is fabulous, every staff member is so friendly and makes you not only feel welcome but as if you were at home. Someone complained about staff smoking outside their door. It was no one from this establishment, there is a chain smoker next door that constantly comes out their back door to light up though. If you want an excellent breakfast, lunch or brunch, this is definitely the place to come.

Do not go to this place. We arrived at 10:50 & was told it would only be a few minutes. Fast forward 50 minutes later we're still waiting. The JERK owner sat everyone in front of us & then had the audacity to say there's a 4 top that's next & your party is after that. I simply repeated that to the elderly people in our party because they didn't hear & they were already upset at the wait. The JERK owner leans over & starts spewing in my face that I can go to Denny's if I'd like to. I told him I wasn't even talking to him & he starts yelling the "his customers can hear me." I never raised my voice & all I did was repeat what he said. This guy is completely unprofessional & a JERK. Needless to say we all left & will never go in there again.

I'm giving this restaurant only one star because I don't understand how it can have such good reviews. What a disappointment!!! We (6 people) arrived at 10:30 AM on a Monday and were told it would take about 15 mins to get a seat. 35 minutes later we were still waiting to be seated!! The host/manager was really nice BUT she was either really inexperienced or didn't not want us to leave and was deceiving by giving really inaccurate waiting times. The carpets are dirty, the piñón coffee, even though flavorful, was weak and pricey $2.5. The server was nice but messed up our order (scrambled eggs with green sauce) when my husband had asked for over easy with red sauce (the way huevos rancheros are truly made!!!). The food was bland and it took 30 minutes for the food to be served. In total, we waited an hour to eat!! My kids were still hungry because for $5 they got one pancake and one small piece of bacon!! A rip off considering that the Corner Bakery in El Paso serves two chocolate chip pancakes, two bacon strips and organic chocolate milk for kids for $4.5 and fast! Would not recommend this place unless you're getting pastries to go!
(1)Eric B.
My wife and I stopped at the Cornerstone Bakery for lunch, and came back for breakfast pastries during our visit to Ruidoso. Everything about both visits was perfect. We had soup and sandwich for lunch. The Spinach and Artichoke soup was wonderful, and the grilled cheese and turkey sandwich made a perfect companion for it. The service was very efficient and friendly. While there, we drooled over the awesome looking pastry cabinet and decided to come back another day for breakfast. Again, we were completely pleased with the delicious pastries and wonderful service. We even bought a couple of cinnamon rolls from the day-old basket to take with us to enjoy later.
(5)Robin G.
The best found this place while I was on vacation had breakfast and lunch almost everyday highly recommend, from the owner to the servers there all the best and the best food you going to get. And very reasonable price.
(5)Lindsey K.
There is nothing bad about this place! We walked in and were immediately greeted by a very nice lady! We enjoyed the coffee bar and the atmosphere. The breakfast was AMAZING! It was the best eggs Benedict I've ever had and my husband couldn't stop talking about the French toast! The staff treated everyone like they knew you and it made the experience that much better!!! My husband wants to go back to ruidoso just to eat here!!!
(5)Shawna B.
The food is delicious and the service is absolutely phenomenal! We stopped in on our way out of town and had 4 children under the age of 6 with us, so waiting was a little nerve-wracking for parents. We were invited to grab a coffee cup and help ourselves, which was perfect. Even on a busy holiday weekend (and with a large group), the wait didn't last long and as we were seated the waitress offered to bring us homemade Play-Do for the kids. Who is the genius who came up with this idea?! Each child had their own placemat with dough, a rolling pin and extra flour (in case it got sticky). Fun for both kids and adults! Our table ordered everything from the breakfast bagel to French toast to crepes to quiche. And it was all SO delicious! Top that off with customer service that was absolutely top-notch (seriously, every employee we interacted with was incredibly nice and completely accommodating) and you have yourself a new must-stop in Ruidoso. Will definitely be back on our next trip!
(5)Jennifer G.
Great food and service. Lots of wonderful unique breakfast choices. Never been here for lunch but it looked like a great menu as well. Lots of pastries to choose from also. Cookies and pies also. Would definitely recommend for breakfast.
(5)Mike D.
Went here on the recommendation of other Yelp users and they did not disappoint! Very good breakfast, great coffee and service was very good also. I was so happy that we ended up eating here every morning except for 1 and I wish we had eaten here that time too. Next time we go back to Ruidoso we will be eating breakfast here every morning! I am fairly picky about who I compliment but I have no problems giving them when they are due. Great food!
(5)Rob T.
Oh wonder of wonders - what a great breakfast place in a town that seems to be awash with only Mexican breakfast places (Nothing wrong with that!) I'm not sure what fellow Yelper "R.S." was getting at with his totally bizarre review, but their self-serve coffee bar is DELICIOUS, that's some great coffee they have there, and it's only the tip of the iceberg. "R.S." also talks about weird, hipster clientele or something... Not so at all; being 25, I didn't see anyone else REMOTELY my own age at this place - all local older folks and supercalafragalistic-friendly. (But our fellow Yelper seems to have some strange problems according to this other reviews...) We went here two times, once on the 11th and again on the 12th before we hit the road on the trip back home. The first time we ordered: 1.) Chai Tea Latte - Subtle and delicious, spicy and clean. So much better than some of the sort of chemical tastes you get at a chain drink cafe. 2.) Short-Stack of Pecan & Brown Sugar Pancakes - These were just unreal, and for a short-stack we were shocked at the pancakes being the size of our faces - you get three in a short-stack, and it's pretty crazy how much they feed you for the price, I think it was $3.99 (Plus toppings) for them and what a deal! 3.) A Breakfast Quiche - Holy crap! This was brilliant, made with a variety of delicious ingredients, cheese, ham, etc and made with a really soft and flaky filo-dough crust it was one of the only fresh quiche I've ever had, but it was absolutely buttery, cheesy and all the different ways I could think of a great quiche being. 4.) A slice of Chocolate Creme Pie and a slice of Lemon-Meringue Pie - Both triple A+ pies, perfect crust, perfect consistency, no 'fake' or 'chemical' flavors at all - I almost feel like it was one of the first real pies I'd ever had, born again! 5.) Their bakery looked so good we had to try two loaves of bread to take back home - a soft and scrumptious sourdough and a delightfully snackable green chile cheddar bread which they sliced for us when requested. The latter was gone within the day without a complaint from either of us. We loved it so much we had to go back a second time; okay so maybe not so adventurous but they recognized us right away and sat us down, we changed things up a little bit though and got: 1.) Biscuits and Gravy - A classic dish that didn't disappoint at all, so delicious the gravy had hearty chunks of sausage in it, but even though the biscuits were soaked they were still crispy and delicious. 2.) Green Chile Cheddar Club - I had a taste of that bread, and I received the hunger from it, I needed more, and I got more - this club was amazing and an HUGE sandwich PLUS soup, which was also great, the soup of the day which was a portabello mushroom creme soup - yum! The club had turkey, bacon and your classic variety of vegetables. All crisp, all delicious. 3.) Pecan Pie - We kind of went on a whim on this one as we had both been craving it, these guys at Cornerstone don't mess around - they make this stuff fresh every morning and it bloody well shows. It was gently warm, like it had just come out of the oven and smelled heavenly and tasted just as good. Caramel-flavor, earthy textures, pecans with a delightful crunch and a crispy, flakey crust - to die for! We had an all around great time, great servers and great folks at the place for sure. We felt like family even after the first time eating there. This is a place you just have to visit for lunch or breakfast if you're skiing or just passing by Ruidoso.
(5)Jeff P.
Best coffee in Ruidoso. The peach pie and the chocolate cream pie were delicious. Other than that, our other food (migas and ham/cheese croissant with potatoes and toast) were average. As another reviewer stated, Ruidoso just isn't a great place for foodies. Service was good. We were there on a busy weekend and there was a wait for a table.
(3)Amanda G.
A catering MUST! I was in town for a conference and put together a small last minute event at the convention center and Cornerstone Bakery was 5+ stars! Excellent food, even better service and setup. The food was fresh and all made in the store. We had bruschetta and an assortment of cookies for a snack breakout. You must order the mexican wedding cookies!! Great job to Steve and his crew! Wish there was a bakery in Austin, TX!
(5)Courtney G.
Such a great little breakfast/brunch place! Who doesn't love peanut butter on pancakes! The servers are super friendly and the service was excellent. Delicious goodies to go as well!
(5)Jayne T.
What a great place! We rented a cabin for the weekend and weren't that familiar with the area. We used Yelp to find a breakfast stop, and we were so happy! The place is totally cute and homey, with a huge take-out baked goods case in the front. Service was so friendly :) They had a large menu with something for everyone, and all priced well. We liked it so much we went two mornings in a row! We had the omelets, some baked goods (which ALL were amazing and I wanted to try them all!), biscuits and gravy, and the Belgian waffle between both visits. The food is good, nothing gourmet, but perfect for a weekend breakfast outing. We will go here every time we are back in the area, highly recommend you do the same!
(4)Julian D.
Love the atmosphere. The bakery restaurant feeling. It smells heavenly in here. Breakfast was delicious and loved the coffee selection. Service was great and restaurant looked very clean. Wasn't on a wait when we got there however there was one when we left. Get there early if you don't want to be on a wait. Parking was limited however you have the bank next door that has plenty.
(4)Benjamin H.
Best breakfast ever! Yummy biscuits and sausage gravy, breakfast burrito with green chile, breakfast quesadillas. Also bakery items are superb! Tried the cookies, strudel, brownies. Only wished they would ship pastries.
(5)Michelle B.
We tried this place on a recent trip to Ruidoso. We had to wait a good 30-45 minutes to get in. My husband and I split a hatch green chile cheddar club, which was good. However, I was disappointed in the green chile potato soup. It seemed almost borderline bland, which is weird to say about such a soup. My husband got a tomato soup, which he didn't particularly care for either. The food was decent, but it is probably not somewhere I would go back to every time I am in Ruidoso.

I'm giving Cornerstone Bakery 5 stars; not because of meal(s) I had, but because of service! Wife and I had breakfast before hitting the slopes early this morning; arrived at 6:50ish; doors opened and we were welcomed in promptly at 7; young man that welcomed us acted as if he has been waiting since they closed the day before to meet us as today's first customers; polite, energetic; and apparently he is new, I believe the owner was also there; and likewise she was accommodating, polite, energetic, certainly her charisma and charm has rubbed off on her newest server already! The bakers display would make even the snobiest pastry connoisseurs mouth water; cinnamon rolls to cookies; all looking delicious.... My wife and I both ordered southwestern type breakfasts; and they were very good; fresh veggies, fresh salsa; very tasty. I will say that they were not epic; but we were in a bakery and both failed to order French toast, pancakes, or even biscuits; dumb tourists trying to find a taste of home I imagine. Self serve coffee bar was a welcome change; and last but not least; it was suggested we order sandwiches for our day on the slopes; waiter made recommendations for sandwiches; owner/manager recommended idea; we bit and so happy to have; 5 hours later while famished fellow skiers scarfed on cafeteria style slop at Ruth's chris prices wife and I enjoyed a tasty BLT and chicken salad sandwich with all the fixings; homemade bread held up nicely to the wait! So go, experience a hometown bakery feel; where the staff is excellent and makes even contrary Texas tourist feel at home; unpretentious, priced fairly; food and service speaks for itself! PS- bit into stashed Spanish wedding cookie on way down from ski apache; almost ran off the mountain it was THAT tasty!!
(5)Liz M.
Excellent food, amazing service, fresh out of oven pastries. Met the owner who is working hard on a Sunday. He couldn't have been more gracious or thankful for us being there. Our server Sam was also great, and we noticed other tables having friendly conversation with their servers. Soups were great, omelette delicious, and made to order pancakes were super fluffy! To top it off we had fresh out of the oven pumpkin pie and key lime tarts that were great! Highly recommend this, we're definitely coming again!
(5)Dave W.
Hoped for more than it was. Wife had breakfast ques. First slice was good. Second and third slices were soggy because they were laid atop the beans. Third slice was cold. I had scrambled eggs with potatoes. Toast arrived but they forgot the order. When it arrived it had cooled off a lot. The eggs were real eggs cause there were a lot of shells in it. Wanted some rolls to take home but was told they leave rolls to nearby Walmart..
(3)Hameed A.
Meh. The green chile potato soup was good. The biscuit was very nice. The New Mexico scrambler thing I got was ok at best. When you advertise the dish is made with tortilla chips mixed in with eggs, you expect a migas type dish. This had some tortilla chips just stuck in the dish. The potatoes were just plain - no flare or real Taste. My wife's Reuben had tough corned beef that coulda been much better had they chopped the beef up. My wife wanted to give it 2 stars.
(3)Barb L.
We were in Ruidoso for a couple weeks recently and this became our favorite place for breakfast, and one of our favorites for lunch. We arrived right before the 4th of July and tourists were swarming the town. Cornerstone was a very busy place, and I was surprised at how well they were able to accommodate guests. The servers were friendly, patient and helpful at each visit. One thing I'd like to see changed is that they always seem a little short-staffed, whether it's really busy or just an average day. A consistent thing I really liked is that the food was great. We tried a variety of menu items of the two weeks and liked everything we had. My favorites are any of them with green chilis. Yum. Pastries are delicious. We always say we're not going to get any, but 'somebody' (my boyfriend) always has to have something, and of course, I have to have some of it with him. The cappuccino muffin is a favorite, as is every piece of pie I've ever had there. We were bummed that the espresso machine was broken while we were there, but when the closest repair place is in Albuquerque, what can you do? Instead we had the self-serve coffee (free and you don't have to wait to get a refill!), which was very good. We will definitely be back!
(5)Mikayla G.
Everything I tasted is absolutely delicious!!! There chocolate chip cookie pecan chunk is sooooo good. And there mixed berry crapes are to do for! There super nice here, and We got our food rather quickly, If you get the chance come here it is well worth it!!
(5)Dirk S.
Excellent service, food and coffee. We had the Albuquerque Eggs Benedict and they were delicious with the yummy Hollandaise sauce!
(5)Donna H.
Just returned from 8 days in Ruidoso and we ate breakfast, brunch or lunch here 7 times, including breakfast on the way out of town! We pretty much tried everything on the menu...there were 4 of us...and it was all amazing!! We had the lightest pancakes ever, a great Reuben, all the egg dishes, burgers and pretty much anything we could order on the Green Chili Cheese Buns. On the day before we left, we pre-ordered a dozen of the buns to bring home. Dinner that night included our kids and grand kids, who have asked that we call the bakery and see if they will ship us more buns!
(5)Nadine A.
Love this place super sweet staff and great food. Whenever I'm in town I have to stop in here for something new. Haven't been disappointed yet.
(4)Nathan M.
Ate there yesterday for lunch. Wonderful food. Nice little place. Menu was pretty big bit they only do breakfast and lunch items.
(4)Angie S.
Excellent - Don't miss out! Only sad that I couldn't eat more! Nom nom nom!
(5)Frankie S.
Wow! Just happened to pull into this place as it was on our way. What a lucky day! Eggs Benedict, Belgian waffle, and coffee bar were excellent. And the cinnamon roll! It was NOT a donut pretending to be a cinnamon roll. Thanks for the excellent service Pat!
(5)Rusty B.
This is one of those places that I felt was good but great. My wife and I split the Hatch Green Chile Cheddar Club with a cup of tomato basil soup and a cup green chili potato soup. The tomato soup was a little strong on the basil for my taste. To a degree it would of made for a good dipping sauce but I have had better tomato soup. The potato soup could use more seasoning. I would try here again but probably won't be our first choice in town.
(3)Kelly C.
Excellent place for breakfast. They are open for breakfast/lunch. I never got a chance to eat lunch here while visiting Ruidoso, but I had the French toast and it was delicious. I also tried their biscuits and gravy, the best I've ever had! Everything tastes excellent and fresh. I highly recommend you go here sooner (8am) then later because it gets really crowded!
(5)Emily C.
This place has an amazing menu. I haven't tried anything other than the Green Chile Cheddar Club but I plan on going back to at least try their breakfast. The club was good- it wasn't amazing- the bread wasn't the thing of legends that other yelpers have described. It was a club sandwich- which in general I like. The bacon was a little salty. The mayo, well it needed more. The service was good- very prompt. The atmosphere was okay- good use a little bit of a change in decorations but it wasn't bad. But what got me was the prices. I thought the sandwich was overpriced- but I'd heard from yelp this is one of the places to go in Ruidoso. Just like every other food place in Ruidoso, there is no place to go. If you're a foodie good luck. I'd rather just cook my own dinner. Ruidoso doesn't have a "restaurant" I could not live without.
(3)David F.
Very good food. Nice selection of breakfast items, which I assume you can order anytime they are open. We had the crepes, eggs benedict and omelet with hollandaise sauce. Very good. One problem: It was a Sunday morning, and many locals had "reserved" tables after church. We waited 40 minutes for a table for four, and the whole time there were two empty tables, waiting on their "reservations." Not good management. We were on our way out of town, and the wait set us back a good bit. I would suggest something faster if you're in any hurry whatsoever.
(4)R S.
Quite good, but my innate suspicion of "Wearers of Jaunty Hats" and the relentlessly upbeat tableside inquiries of said Wearer give me pause. What's the theory with GET YOUR OWN DAMN COFFEE? Green Chile Cheddar bread, Green Chile Potato Soup both memorable....Quiche cook needs to have another talk with Lorraine. Less aggressively Hipster clientele than the Buttery. Will continue to patronize in spite of him.
(3)Jon K.
Good breakfast in Ruidoso!! Came highly recommended by locals and didn't disappoint. Has a diner feel, good service and also included the bakery which looked great but we didn't try.
(4)Allison B.
We took a group of 7 adults and three children. The wait staff was very helpful and accommodating, they even brought out homemade play-doh for the little ones. We ordered French toast, crepes, pancakes, omelettes, coffee, etc. all was outstanding!! We went back twice during our 5 day stay. Will definitely return when we are back in Ruidoso.
(5)Heather L.
Excellent food! Super cute café. Our server was awesome and also provided a lot of tips about things to do while we were visiting town. The bakery items looked amazing. They also served local coffee. good stuff! we had breakfast there and might go back for lunch!
(5)Brian O.
Breakfast this morning at the Cornerstone was very good. This was our second visit to the Cafe, the first visit was last year. Service was good and friendly. The Black Forest Strudel was delicious.
(4)Gayla R.
Steve has done a great job since he took over ownership. Good food but get there before 2pm.
(5)Scott H.
Wasnt horrible but nothing special either. People were very friendly but was completely underwhelmed by food and service was excruciatingly slow. Wouldn't come back - local Denny's might have been a better option for breakfast!
(3)Eddy S.
Had three different breakfasts and we enjoyed all three. Price was just right for what you got, and I would say the food was fresher than you'd find in most places. I left with a bag of baked goods that I'm about to dive into.
(4)Kristyn A.
Fabulous breakfast! The best bacon and most kid friendly place in town!
(5)Stephanie S.
Great food. Long wait but wait staff was attentive. I would go everyday if I lived closer, but, I don't.
(5)Roscelle S.
Best bakery in town for sure! Everyone was so welcoming and all I can say is order a dozen of the apricot empanadas. You will not regret it--- trust me! The dough reminded me of a really good sugar cookie but lighter and creamier. It's sooooo good. I wonder if they make a cookie out of it bec I would buy it. The filling had the perfect combination of sweetness and tartness and the texturewas so smooth. I mean smooth tasting bec I can taste chunks of apricot but the inside is almost like a perfect jelly. I can't really explain it. Just buy it. Buy one then try inside the store. I promise you will buy more!
(4)Paul E.
Why have I not gone to this cafe on my trips to Ruidoso! Found this place on Yelp on a fluke, just looking for some local coffee and what I found was a gem of a place! First off, the staff is super friendly and will carry on a great conversation with you throughout your time there that by the time you pay and check out, your given out hugs like family! And we didn't even sit to eat! :-) Definitely try the Piñon coffee! The coffee is roasted with a native flavor, much like how the native people made flavored drinks and it lends such a unique flavor that I have yet to find one to match. I swear it added like a nutty, marshmallowy, rich coffee flavor. It's so good that I literally think about it and want to make the trip back just for the coffee. I also ordered a pecan pastry that was absolutely delicious! When ordering it the staff member asked if I would like a knife and fork since I was taking it to go. I foolishly answered no thinking, "it's just a pastry." I soon learned why I would need the utensils, as when I opened the to go box and reached in and took a bite, my fingers were immediately covered in a flavorful honey/syrup mixture. It was so finger liking good that I really didn't need the utensils, my tongue did the trick! :-) Overall, this place is so great that I am still planning the next time I can go to Ruidoso to just pick up another flavorful Piñon coffee and a fluffy, syrupy, pecany, pastry to go along with a crisp, mountain morning!
(5)Jessica M.
This is one of the greatest restaurants/bakery's I've ever eaten at, and probably will ever eat at. The food was amazing! Every morsel just as full of flavor as the last one. Breakfast and Lunch are served all day long. Pastries made fresh every morning. Reasonable pricing, especially for what you get. I wish I was visiting longer so I could come back every day to try it all! Eating here is a must if you're visiting, passing by, or going to be in the area. This is a must!!! They open at 7am and close at 3pm. Try and get here early!
(5)Sandy N.
The extra star is for their friendly welcoming staff. The food was good and service was a little slow, but it is always busy so that is expected. I had the french toast which was good and we had a mescalaro burger and a new mexican omelete for my guy. Everything was good. I would come back again to try their other items.
(4)Brooke H.
Walking into The Cornerstone Bakery is like walking into pure sunshine! And I'm not talking about the sunshine flowing in from the huge picture windows but the sunny attitude from every employee in the restaurant! The food was great, but the service and friendly people who were honestly glad we were there is what will bring us back!!
(5)Pete S.
This was our first visit here. Usually it's packed with people waiting outside. We got there about 2pm. Got seated right away. Store was really clean, tables bussed and very friendly staff. I had a green chile cheddar club and my wife had the patty melt with green chile. We split our meals. Both sandwiches were really good. We both had green chile potato soup. It was delicious. Needless to say, didn't have room for dessert. They really look good. We will go back.
(4)Harold S.
Was looking at my last review and nothing has changed. Great location, good food, and excellent bakery items. You know it's good when you have to wait for a table.
(5)Miranda A.
We always try a new place in Ruidoso when we pass through. This place was recommended to us! The place was extremely busy. The service started off slow and not ideal but pickup at the end and the experience was nice! Our food came out shortly after we ordered and it was delicious! They have a lot of yummy looking sweets, from cinnamon rolls to Apple strudel! We'll def be back!
(4)Paul V.
As we were leaving Ruidoso, sadly, we stopped to get some breakfast pastries for the road. A decent but not great selection. They tasted fine, but nothing remarkable. But they are expensive. It really made me miss the old bakery many years back at suddereth and mechem...their turnovers rocked!

We ordered a variety of deserts that were all delicious and fresh. The service was extremely welcoming and friendly. Michelle was a delightful young lady who worked there and went out of her way to make your day. The deserts and service were all great.

We were here the first time in May, and came back again in August. I couldn't wait to have breakfast here again. They are always busy, (because they are that good!) Once again, we were greeted warmly, enjoyed the coffee bar before ordering, and enjoyed an awesome breakfast. The staff is so friendly and very accommodating. Definitely on my list to always visit while in Ruidoso!

Cornerstone is great! The owner (who makes the rounds occasionally) and all the employees are extremely friendly no matter how busy it gets there. My little one likes to eat bowls of strawberries and they always accommodate if they can. It's hard to recommend anything cause all the food is good, but I really like the huevos rancheros. And don't forget the bakery! If you're lucky you'll get a chocolate croissant (they run out very quickly no matter how many they make) or their chocolate chip cookies.

We LOVE Cornerstone Bakery! The fresh baked bread, empanadas, cookies and great service keep us coming back!

Today I had the Lincoln County breakfast with their red sauce..add their piñon coffee and it all made this man happy and thankful. Angel was attentive and pleasant as are the staff. I always bring friends and family from out of town.

Went to this cafe for breakfast on recommendation from waitress at another restaurant. Very welcoming, friendly staff ! Service was very good. Food was also very good. I had eggs benedict and hubby had huevos rancheros. He said the sauce was great on huevos and the eggs benedict very good. Would definately return. Crowded but pleasant atmoshere !

They did everything right! From the coffee to dessert! Everything tasted wonderful. The pinion coffee self serve station was convenient and tasty.

This is THE place to have breakfast in Ruidoso! We decided to venture out elsewhere and boy were we disappointed! Cornerstone has a phenomenal menu and the best coffee as well. My only complaint is that they need a bigger place to accommodate all the customers! My absolute favorite breakfast place in the country!

Came to this bakery based on all the great reviews. Ordered Pecan pie, fruit of the forest pie (rhubarb, apple, berries), and a cappuccino chocolate chip muffin. The muffin was delicious, but the pies were just average. Staff was friendly and helpful!

Cornerstone is a great little place for breakfast! The piñon coffee and the thunderbolt coffee are delicious, and patrons are allowed to sip coffee while waiting for a table. The pancakes, eggs, potatoes and turkey sausage were all extremely tasty!

Absolutely wonderful service and the food was amazing!! They have a nice variety of baked goods. Went yesterday and took bakery items back to cabin then today had the cooked to order breakfast. I'll be going back tomorrow. The Ruidoso Sunrise muffins are delicious!

So good we went twice during our 3 day stay in Ruidoso. Fun menu with a lot of variety. Serve yourself coffee bar is great! Great service and every different menu item our party of 10 tried was high quality and great flavor. Be sure and have a pastry while you wait for your entree... really good stuff! We took a Coconut cream pie to go and it was really, really good. Can't say anything bad about this place after our two trips there.

This place is AWESOME. I was in Ruidoso for a couple weeks on a business trip, and I visited this bakery several times. They have a self serve coffee bar, and the breakfast options are great. I've tried the bagel sandwich with potatoes, the bagel and lox, and several types of cookies. If you don't have time to sit down and enjoy breakfast or lunch, at least stop by and get a couple (or more) cookies to go. They are worth it. The atmosphere is cute and relaxed. During the week days you will be seated right away, but there can be quite a wait on Sunday mornings.

We had several recommendations for Cornerstone and headed there for breakfast. The service was awful. Although our waiter was kind and energetic, we waited longer than others seated after we were seated. Our meal was mediocre. We were sorely disappointed.

Best place in Ruidoso, NM! Staff is so friendly food is amazing. Once we found this place we haven't eaten anywhere else. They even have dough for the kids to play with. This is a must stop place.

Awesome breakfast menu, pastries, and coffee. Service is always top notch and always worth it if there is a short wait to get a table. The only thing that could be improved would be to increase the coffee temperature (new airpots? Or maybe a thermostat adjustment on brewer). We will be back to try other items when we make it back to Ruidoso.

Service was a little slow. I ordered the Migas and it was delicious, not spicy at all. The coffee was also great.

Always stop in here when traveling! Great service, amazing food, the breads and pastries always come with me!

Great breakfast. I had the Lincoln Co. Special. Green chili and cheddar toast was by far the best part. Staff was friendly and you could tell they cared about their customers.

EPIC!!!!! It all started with the best cup of coffee (the local favorite, Piñon) I've ever had. Then came the CREATE YOUR OWN pancakes...WHAAAAAAT???? Who else has a giant list of fillings for pancakes? They were HUGE and epically amazing. The customer service was the best I've ever seen, too. Every server we encountered was kind and talked to us and was engaging. The manager stopped and was very genuine with the conversation. Overall, a WONDERFUL experience!

Excellent, we really enjoy the staff and the food, go there and prepare to enjoy the food, the service and the atmosphere

From the warm welcome to the sincere thank you for coming in...this place was absolutely a must do in Ruidoso!!! We loved the piñon blend at coffee bar. They gave us dough for the little ones to play while we waited for our food. The quality and flavor of the food was amazing! Great example of what a restaurant should be!

Went there for breakfast and was blown away. Great pastries and fantastic service. Talked to several tables around us and they all said how great their breakfast plates were. Can't wait to come back

I've been to Cornerstone many times, love their breakfasts! I've had their pastries, they used to make bearclaws but they became too expensive for them to make. TOO BAD as great as their pastries can be it's very limited and if you're not there early forget it. Yes, they are a bit pricey, however, if my husband and I can leave with spending a $20 bill that's fine by me. WHAT I did find interesting, one time my husband and I went, he's Native American (and I'm white) we were placed way in the back with another Indian couple. WHAAAAT'S UP WITH THAT!?!?!? It felt odd, prejudice, and it made me feel they were stereo typing.

Decided to stop by for breakfast at this joint while in town since there is so much rave about it. Needless to say, it was crowded; yet the hostess was extremely friendly and we had to wait only 15 minutes for a table. The bakery items looked very delicious, however I did not order any. The bakery items included whole and sliced pies, cookies, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and freshly baked bread. As we waited for our order at the table, the waitress have my daughter some dough to play with. She was very elated and one couple next to us asked if she could have some as well (kinda weird). I ordered the Sierra Blanca French Toast with an additional side of sausage. We didn't wait long, maybe 20-25 minutes for our food. The French toast was made with an unfamiliar bread and was too dry for my taste. It was tasteful, but would prefer to order maybe the omelette next time. My daughter ordered the waffle with bacon. I tasted the waffle and it was very delicious, I would order this again for her. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito and said that the red sauce was disgusting but the green sauce is delicious. So be careful to order with green sauce.

We have been in town 4 days and have eaten there twice! Great service and excellent food. Everything is fresh and delicious. There is always a little wait, but that's the perfect time to enjoy the coffee bar and an appetizer pastry!
(5)Ronald W.
The portions are huge! Try the Pinon coffee! Great service and delicious pastries! Tons of options on the menu named after New Mexican locations. Omelets are actually more like scrambles but the French toast is amazing! Did I mention that the portions are huge?

Everything any of us have ever had has been delicious! This is my favorite place for breakfast or brunch. Get there early because they sell out of things.
(5)Thomas L.
Great breakfast place. The wait staff was very accommodating and the owner, Steve Gomez personally checked on us and worked the floor. Free Pinon coffee while you wait, oh and they have wonderful baked goods!

I can't believe I'm writing about great food, exceptional service AND Ruidoso in the same review. Why haven't we tried this place before?? It will definitely be our go-to place when we visit our cabin-of-bear-love. Everyone on staff was friendly and smiling. Inside clean and charming. Delicious Piñon coffee, we bought some for home. Between our group we tried: the Chile Relleno Omelet...YUM! The Ruben sandwich the hubs raved about, as well as the Baked Potato Soup. We shared a pancake, fluffy and as good a pancake as I have had at other restaurants. Next time I want to add my own mixins to try. We took some baked goods to go as well, because they look so irresistible. Oh, and did I mention great prices? Complimentary coffee too! Please give this place your business!! Maybe other eateries will follow suit.
