Carmine's Authentic Italian Eatery. A great place to catch some terrific Italian food. The vibe is fun and cozy, and the food is really delicious. I ordered the Corleone pizza (basically a "Meat Lover's, Italian style" with Italian Sweet Sausage, Ground Beef, Piccante Salami and Prosciutto). Like I said, really delicious. Also ordered the Cioppino which is a tomato based seafood soup with calamari, mussels, clams and shrimp. Ditto. They have a nice selection of beer and wines. Lucked out and was there on Wednesday evening when bottles of wine are half price. Hey, who am I to argue with a great deal? I ordered a nice bottle of Chianti for about $12. How can you beat that? The owner came out and visited with us, made sure that everything was to our liking. Really cool. Definitely plan to eat here again.

What's a girl to do when she's motoring through a foreign town and is starving for lunch? She'll look for something new and different to eat, that's what she'll do! Roswell, New Mexico is known for some funky things. Aliens to be exact. But Carmine's is only slightly foreign (Italian), with just a bit of funk thrown into the classic mix. What do I mean by that, you ask? Well how about a white pizza with full garlic cloves..?? Enough garlic to scare away a vampire, if only the aliens were spawns of the vampire kin. Yet, it's delicious. In all seriousness, it's a traditional Italian restaurant with a few unique items that are just different enough to make you feel like you're eating at a casual Italian restaurant back home yet still dining at a high class establishment. What makes it even better is the staff. Our waitress was one of the most kind and humorous waitresses I've met in a long time. That alone would make me ignite a rocket and land my tushy in Roswell again.

Not awful, but far from decent. The water and tea tasted so bad that we wretched. The pasta was a bit tough and from a bag, not made on location. Some of the menu was unavailable. The cook also restocked the men's room. The sorta-Waldorf salad was okay.

Great Owners, Great Food...ok Service. I had no problem with the quality of food we got. It was the best Italian food I had in New Mexico. Period! The husband and wife owners made us feel very comfortable and they went around to almost every table and patrons in their place. Many they knew on a first name basis as locals. Very impressive. Our waitress just seemed a little out-of-it. It wasn't super busy, and they had plenty of waitstaff around. Like I said, maybe she was having an "off" night, but other than that it was a great place to eat. All 3 dishes we had were super fresh and very light. Good portions as well. Stop by and support local businesses in Roswell. This one for dinner for sure!

Nope, never again will I enter this restaurant! Went there for the third time only to experience the worst service and marginal food of the three visits. A group of 10 from the office went for lunch - over an hour of waiting and then to have three of the meals not show up. The Blue Plate Specials of all things to not be prepared. I must admit, however, that my Greek Salad was good but I felt bad eating it 30 minutes prior to the rest of the group even getting bread to munch on. Then my Americano Pizza arrived. It was gross and I left 7/8 of it behind. The waiter seemed clueless and had no sense of timing. He didn't even offer to compensate for the three dishes not served. We should have just left the place. Too bad for this reviewer as the location is centrally located and the menu could be good but, the place sucks. I won't be back even if it is a free meal.

This place was great when it was Red Brick Pizza. I went in six months or so after Carmine's opened. The music was VERY loud, and I can only imagine it's their effort to attract a younger crowd and drive out anyone over 30, or people with intact eardrums. There is no way to carry on a conversation here, but 20-somethings text themselves across the table, so it's fine for them. I was ignored for a few minutes after arrival. Stood their waiting for someone to notice me. Finally a waitress, noticing I was alone, suggested I sit at the bar. I think that must be because there's not much tip from one meal, one person. May as well have the bartender take the hit. The bartender took a long, long time to finish making drinks and acknowledge me. I asked for a menu. She found one and then I had to get her attention to order from it. Two slices of mushroom and peperoni . I didn't time it, but it seemed like a LONG time to get two slices of pizza. At least ten minutes. When they came, they were cold, and the mushrooms were tossed on top RAW, as though they forgot completely until after the piece was made. When I complained about the mushrooms not even being cooked or warm, the bartender advised that's how they make them. For my soft drink and two slices of cold pizza with raw mushrooms, I paid $12 and vowed never to return. I look at these 5-star reviews and wonder if we visited the same place. To the party of ten who went for the third time and had an awful experience, I can definitely relate.

Good food, good prices, nice atmosphere and they allow doggies on patio! Owner even made me a special "ala carbonara" with a special Gigli pasta which I'd never had before & it was fresh & made the same day which turned out fabulous. A great little family business going here that you will be glad to visit & a treat that you surely will enjoy.

This place was amazing! There were 14 people (5 kids under ten!) the owner came out and sat us, made sure we got out drinks properly, and helped us decide what was the best to order for the kids. He came out multiple times throughout the night to make sure we were doing well. Our waiter was pleasant and very patient and let us take our time (even though there were so many of us) Everything that everyone ordered was AMAZING! Even the pizza was fantastic! We were so glad to have chosen this restaurant. :-)

My favorite Italian place in town. I usually go with The Border Patrol pizza with fried calamari equals NOMZ. They also have gelato which is flippin fantastic.

I had the Linguine Mare Nero...which is squid ink pasta in a spicy tomato sauce with shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari. It was DIVINE. Generous portion with mouth watering flavor. But the best part was that it was LOADED with seafood. Alot of times when you order pasta that has seafood in it, there's maybe like two pieces of each seafood listed. Not here. There was piece after piece of luscious, squishy creatures of the sea. And my mouth loved it.

This place is absolutely amazing. From the friendly staff (and incredible owner) to the delicious food. I grew up in Roswell and currently live in Southern California, but every time I come back for a visit I will always stop by Carmine's to say hello and get a delicious meal in a great atmosphere!! P.S.- The bruschetta is sooo fresh and tasty!!

The restaurant was not what we expected, it looks like a sports bar/bistro/something else. The service was excellent. The food wasn't horrible, it is over priced for what you get. The bread was very cold and chewy, I ordered pasta with white sauce, the noodles were very over cooked and the sauce was bland. My husband ordered a pizza, it looked like a totinos pizza, it was alright, but also bland.

One of the best experiences we have had in a restaurant.... My wife and nephew and I were on an 11-day road trip and ended up in Roswell for the 6th day of our trip. We decided we wanted to eat some Italian food and possibly a pizza, so we decided to try Carmine's as the other locations in Roswell just didn't look welcoming. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed by our server and felt at home. The atmosphere is quite thrilling, with various celebrity pictures on the walls, a full bar to one side of the establishment, quite a few TVs playing various sports and news channels, and an 'open' kitchen area where you can watch your pizza and food being made to order. All in all, one of the best experiences we have had in a very long, long time. All the best to Carmine's!

Totally saved my life when we decided to make Roswell our stop on a road trip. Gluten free pizza, breads, and everything was fresh. The gluten free pizza crust seemed home-made, and not a frozen pre-made thing.

First, extremely over priced. Second, our food was over cooked and greasy and bland. I had a clone that was burnt on the bottom and required a chainsaw to hack into. My friend had chicken parmigan and it was greasy and bland. Horrible food. Very overpriced. But nice ambience and location. Maybe with a cook they'd be great.

Thought this would just be a bar/pizza place, but food is surprisingly very good! Had the pasta pomodoro and the Hubbs had the Sardinia pasta, both very good! Would highly recommend!

Great place! Atmosphere is family friendly and service is spot on. You have to try the Godfather pizza

We found this place after striking out with our first choice, and we weren't disappointed. We are just traveling through, and found this place with the parking lot full, good sign. We were seated quickly, and placed our drink and appetizer peers orders. We had the calzone, skirt steak and beers. The small calzone for $5 was a great deal. The skirt steak was very tender and flavorful. After driving for 10 hours this was a great dinner.

What a disappointment. Should not be called an Italian Restaurant. The Good. I asked for an Eggplant Parmasan and it was great. Perhaps the best thing about the visit. Also the special oil dip for our bread was great. The Bad. Three of us ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs. They don't have meatballs. They never have meatballs. I never heard of an Italian Restaurant without meatballs. Ok, they ordered the spaghetti anyway. What did they get? Linguine! Linguine is not spaghetti. Note that my Eggplant Parmasan came with a side of spaghetti, so they "should" know the difference. The sauce was not good at all. Although I've had worse, I've also had a lot better. We each had a dish of ice cream. Way overpriced. If you like Italian food, or know Italian food, this is not the restaurant for you. (Unless you go for the Egplant Parm which was special made for me and was great). (Eggplant Parm not on the menu).

We found this restaurant on our last day in Roswell and wish we'd found it sooner. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The food is awesome. We had fried calamari, tender and perfectly cooked. The Godfather pizza with fennel sausage, roasted sweet peppers and carmelized onion was terrific. The Pasta alla Norma with eggplant and ricotta salata was also top notch. We tried cannoli, chocolate covered cannoli, cheesecake and lava cake with chocolate gelato--they were all amazing. This is really a great Italian restaurant. I only wish I were staying in Roswell longer, wanted to try their gnocchi, calzones and more of their specialty pizzas. Service was swift and attentive and the owner was there greeting and making everyone feel welcome. A great dining experience in Roswell, NM!

I had my doubts but this restaurant is excellent. I've had their spinach and feta calzone and have not had better, not even in New York's little Italy. I highly recommend this place

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
