Friendly local breakfast and lunch restaurant based in a converted gas station on old Route 66 in Moriarty. Many locals eat here, which should say it all.

Classic old school New Mexico roadside cafe. Located along "the Mother Road" (Route 66) this place occupies what used to be a filling station. They serve up your standard country diner fare: biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, Texas toast, etc. I had the breakfast combo plate, which you can get in either 3, 4, or 5 side variations. The eggs were good, the bacon crispy, and the ham fresh. Can't go wrong there. Also, our waitress was attentive as all get-out, and my coffee never once got cold or empty. The real clue as to the quality of this place, though, is the abundance of locals. When you stop in here you will witness more than one person walk in and shake the hands of several other people already seated. It's a small communtiy, and in the mornings and at lunch this place is something of a local hub.

A little hard to find but worth looking for!! I had the HAMM burger, which is a patty of hamburger and bacon covered with a chili rellino and onions. It was amazing! The owner even shared how they made the chili rellino. My husband had the open face roast beef sandwich with a bowl of corned beef stew and real mashed potatoes along with a squash melody of veggies. He ate every single bite!! Very friendly waitress and the atmosphere is great. A little loud with the pool tables and karaoke in the next room but it all added to the atmosphere!! We will stop here again!

Nothing fancy, just really good, well-prepared food. Loved the Cubano and my husband couldn't get enough of Cal's homemade blue cheese dressing. The breakfast menu is a big surprise: everything from oatmeal to eggs Benedict! Don't overlook the specials, particularly the soups.

We were driving directly into the sun on Route 66 (or I-40) and needed to get off the road for a bit or crash. I decided to hop off the highway in Moriarty, NM and I literally stopped at the first restaurant we saw, KC's Restaurant. Boy did we walk into heaven. I'm a southern kid and it was the best Biscuits and Gravy I've ever had. And being the day after the election, we had the pleasure of eating breakfast with the newly elected sheriff! If I knew anyone driving the Route, I'd tell everyone and their mother to eat at KC's! Awesome!
