Wonderful breakfast, friendly service, great stop while traveling! Their skillets are delicious, and the poached eggs were done perfectly. The biscuits and waffles are light and fluffy.

The facility was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was fine, but I wouldn't rave about the food. If I had to choose between fastfood and kranberry's most the time I would pick Kranberrys most of the time.

This place was very clean and that's where it stops the food was bad. We ordered two coppers specials and all of the food was cold. Nothing was seasoned tasteless pancakes. I advice to not stop here unless you have no choice. Look for any IHOP Denny's or Waffle House.

Staying in Lordsburg for a few weeks for work, used my trusty yelp to help pick a place to eat and I have to say for the first time I was let down... This place is like a Denny's in appearance, but more open seating in the middle. Was sat pretty quickly, and honestly, the wait staff is the only reason I am even giving two stars. The food was bland. I had a steak and enchiladas - the steak was over cooked and tasteless. The enchiladas were not fresh (falling apart in that not so good kind of way). The green sauce was almost flavorless and the refried beans - were just bad, dried out and way too thick. I passed on desert given the rest of the food. As I said, the waitstaff was very pleasant and attentive, but I am there to eat, so the food quality has to acceptable, it really wasn't. Not a lot of options in town, but I will be trying all the others.

Fast, friendly service. Had the Gold Seeker Skillet with salsa. I will definitely stop by again!

We love diners. This is a good, average diner. My smoked brisket was nice lean brisket, with no trace of smokey taste. Clean place with friendly , alert service.

  • Corey R.

Way too pricey for the less than mediocre food. The service was poor, we came for the home style atmosphere and were sorely disappointed. The establishment itself is nothing more than a Denny's and the food was honestly bad. I ordered their tortilla soup, it was chicken broth with tortilla strips. The mashed potatoes weren't real and the gravy was bland. All around this is one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to.

This is definitely worth the stop for breakfast if find yourself passing through. Everything we ordered was great. Much better than the cafe's at truck stops along route 10.

Good little family eatery. Not to many nicer sit down eat in places in Lordsburg. What I have ever got on the menu has been great. Good service ok food. A solid 4 stars.

  • Asher G.

This place is not bad, considering it is in the middle of nowhere. The place is really really clean and had really clean bathrooms. I ordered the chicken tacos and it wasn't real Mexican food by any means but it is decent. The food mostly taste like its straight out of a can, generic taco shell, beans rice and salsa out of the jar. I'd rather have generic food than (in the middle of nowhere, on our drive) running the risk of getting sick by bad cooking. Service was great and our waiter was really nice and responsive.

Recommended by the hotel clerk. We had excellent sandwiches with soup followed by homemade peach cobbler. Nice diner atmosphere. Friendly service.

Not a bad place for a decent meal, staff is helpful and friendly, The enchilada plate was fine and the blackberry cobbler ok. At little pricey for this area and the portions but as there is so few places in town....

  • Nancy S.

Hot sauce was different, but okay. Chips were good. The beef soup was excellent that my husband had. I had chicken fried steak, baked potato and salad and it was okay; although, the salad was good. Croutons were soggy. Just an okay place, but the service was good.

Nice newer building which says a lot for the old town it is in. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. I would recommend the green chili stew or the green chili enchiladas especial. Their homemade salsa has a good kick to it and is very tasty.

Great place for breakfast off I-10. Friendly staff, and hot fresh food. We made it a point to stop there again on our return trip.

We were on our way home (to California) and found Kranberry's Family Restaurant. We were tired of fast food and we were looking for a sit-down. Very impressive and CLEAN!! It's not in anyway like a Denny's!! The food isn't greasy. And yes it's a couple dollars more expensive. If you like greasy food, then stick to Denny's. It's not Mexican Food either. Plates are good portions. Our waitress Lupe was great. She even brought extra napkins (without me having to ask--That's a BIG PLUS!!). The plates we ordered were Chicken Strips, Taco Salad, Fish & Chips, Grilled Chicken Plate. The chicken soup was very good. Had I known it was that good, i would have ordered a large Soup instead. Try it out for yourself. I know where we're stopping on our next road trip

Good breakfast menu. Husband ordered oatmeal which was made from scratch. Modern, clean bathrooms. There was not much in town, but this was still a good choice. We saw several tables of locals-a good sign.

Ahh this place is just what we needed after many hours of driving. This place was nice and clean, the service was great, and the food was tasty. Barbara was our waitress and she was so friendly and pleasant! My mom and I shared the chicken quesadilla and chips and salsa. Salsa tasted home made and was VERY spicy which is what I love. I would highly recommend this place over eating fast food in this town in you've been on the road a while.

Here's the deal ... if you're passing through Lordsburg, it's probably because you've been on the road for a while. If your'e anything like me, I was tired of eating fast food at this point in our road trip and welcomed the chance to sit down and take a load off. Again, we had our dog with us, so when we pulled up we were pleasantly surprised to find a nice sized yard in front of the restaurant for her to get out and stretch her legs. The food was decent. Not a huge fan of the fries and I definitely could have used an adult beverage with my meal, but they don't serve alcohol. That was the most of our problems with the facility though. And we really didn't need fries after all the value meals we had gotten along the way. We were just happy to sit down and have good service at a hometown restaurant.

This place was really a surprise and a delight. The food was good and very clean. Very kid friendly and very attentive staff. The women's bathroom was very nice and included a diaper changing area, that had the liners. I have never been to a place where the liners for the diaper area where available. The coconut cream pie was very good and my husband enjoyed his meal.

First time ever for the two of us through Lordsburg and after 675 miles we stopped at the Best Western tired and thirsty. Unknown to us Lordsburg was being beset by grasshoppers, too funny! Fortunately, due to the fact the Mrs. abhors anything insect, this cafe was but a few ( some squishy!) steps away. Unfortunately they don't serve adult beverages. ( we bring our own stock anyway!) She had Hot Turkey Sandwich which was good and I had the Chile Verde Enchiladas that tasted great! If we ever come this way again we will stop. On to Midland tomorrow!

A delightful stop on our Southwestern Christmas trip along I-10. We had lunch here on our eastbound trip, and liked it so much we had dinner when we passed through the other way again. For our lunch, my wife had the Chicken Fried Steak, and said it was as good as anything she ever had in Texas (which is saying a lot). I had a fresh salad and a fish sandwich, which was very good. On the return, I again had a salad and the catfish fillets; my wife had a some kind of enchilada plate that was gigantic. Everything we had was very, very good - the salads were fresh, the food was well prepared and tasty. On top of that, the service was friendly and very prompt. For a place to stop while barreling down the road, this is great. In the world of restaurants, it will never rank with El Bulli, but then again, who would want a 3 hour foam dinner when you're on a cross-country road trip? Note: This is listed here as a Mexican restaurant. I don't know why - the non-Mexican food dominates the menu, and was certainly just as good.

Exhausted from a long days drive, on the second day of a cross country roadtrip, Kranberry's was a recommended stop for dinner. We pulled into the parking lot 30 minutes before closing time, and requested take out. The hostess denied us service because it was too close to closing time. 30 minutes!!?? I pointed out that there were guests seated still looking at their menu's and hadn't ordered. I requested to speak to the manager. Manager reluctantly agreed to accept our order. Food was good. Simple salad and soups to go. I'm sure during day time hours, you would receive better service. Overall good family style menu.

  • John B.

Hostess will ask how many are in your party. Then she will pick up menu's and walk away. No "hello, how are you", "please follow me", "walk this way" or anything else. All with a scowl on her face. Watched her do this to party in front of us then to my wife and I. Food was so so. Asked that my food be served really hot and it was luke warm at best.

Ok, so, it's pretty much a Denny's in looks and selection, but a bit pricier than I expected. However, there is not much else in the middle of nowhere except the other semi-well-reviewed Mexican place. However, we noticed that all the good reviews were fairly old. Then we drove into the other place and were a bit scared by it's surroundings, so, off to Kranberry's we went. I was expecting larger portions than what we actually got. Maybe it's because I had a salad, but, it's not like it was a healthy salad (chicken tenders and thousand island dressing). But, the service was on-the-ball and the food was pretty good.

Very nice place to stop to have lunch while on our way to visit the Ghost Town of Shakespeare, NM. My wife had a delicious taco salad and I had a very good seasoned beef enchilada smothered in green chile. They do have a lot of other things on their menu that are not Mexican. We did not experience any of their desserts, but we have heard that the blackberry cobbler a la mode is great. We will return again if the occasion arises.

Just passing through Stopped in to get breakfast and coffee. Very old fashion looking but very clean. Bathrooms very clean and fancy. Staff very friendly and attentive. Tom was our server and was very nice and lived to serve! Great service :) kudos to you! Wouldn't recommend the waffle as it takes literally 30 mins to make from an old old waffle maker, obviously not for restaurant use lol. Coffee is good abs desserts are yummy! When we pass through again, a nice place to stop.

me and my husband stopped to eat here and he got a turkey melt and I ordered a burger, without cheese, and of course it came with cheese, waitress said, "I told him no cheese", so she takes it back, and my husband said, I bet he's scraping cheese off, and he was right., so I had to sit there and watch my husband eat. Don't eat here

  • Lisa G.

After reading the reviews we decided to give this place a try. Portions are small for the price that's paid (9.39 for a skimpy turkey melt). Even locals commented on the price! The food was average but nothing spectacular or worth mentioning. We ordered two cinnamon rolls to-go only to find multiple baby roaches below the cinnamon rolls! Need I say more?

The food is delicious & the servings are generous. The staff went out of their way to assist us. We have eaten here 4 times over a 5 year period and have always been pleased with the service and food. We will definitely stop here again.

So the whole time we were in Lordsburg, NM was a nightmare. This restaurant was not any better. Let's start with the pro's. The bacon was amazing. I would rate it within the top 10% for bacon as it goes, and I would like to think I am a semi-expert with bacon. The sausage was mediocre at best. The waitress was pretty good for the most part. I have nothing really to say pro or con about that experience. Let's get to the reason why I came to this restaurant. I went there for some waffles. I was really looking forward to it but seriously had not had waffles the entire two week trip I took with my family from Texas to California. Not that I was thinking that waffles were special in any way to New Mexico but I figured it was something that a place couldn't fuck up. Well, I was seriously wrong. They made the waffles with pancake batter. I was like eating a waffle made out of corn meal. I advised them of the waffle and they apologized and said that they probably mixed up the batter and would make another one. I agreed. The new waffle was made out of the same exact crap. I mean it was horrible. I have had good waffles and I have had great waffles. I can actually say that these waffles were literally the worse waffles I have ever eaten in my life. I never thought I would not finish a waffle. Ya know how it is. You just pour enough syrup on the damn thing and you can pretty much make any waffle eatable. This waffle was not even eatable. I have never run across a waffle that was uneatable before. So yeah I had them take it back and not charge me for it. NOTE: If you want waffles, do not eat at this restaurant. I understand when I went in there that the primary residence that ate at this place were older people that probably could not tell the difference, but these waffles were horrible. Maybe that is a telling point for the future about ever eating breakfast at a restaurant.

Don't let the name fool you: This place serves some very tasty New Mexico-style Mexican dishes -- see last page of menu. The rest of the menu features typical diner dishes, if liver and onions or burgers are your thing. We can't speak to those. I had chicken enchiladas with the green chile sauce, and they were delicious. The refried beans were good too -- tasted a bit smoky, as if there was some genuine bacon grease in there. I didn't have room for the rice; it seemed average. My husband had crispy tacos and he was just as happy. Service was friendly and prices reasonable. Made for a surprisingly pleasant stop on our way home to Dallas.

Clean, friendly, pretty good food. We had the Mexican Combo and it was pretty good. Service was fast. Chips and salsa were delicious. Salsa was HOT! So good. We stayed at the KOA Campground and it was a quick walk for dinner. The a/c works good to! This place is super clean!!

Hold up wait a minute, let me put some bacon in it!!! I stopped at this little hot spot when I stayed at Motel 10, and boy was I excited! For good reason that is. Walked in and it was like they knew what I wanted: Sir would you like a seat? (You know I'd love a seat) Sir would you like a booth? (Get out of my head) Sir would you like some water? (You better stop I'm married) haha jk. The people were nice, the waitress was courteous, and kept my glass full all of the time. I even got into a conversation with the table beside me. They were talking to me about their son in the Marines and that's a subject I don't shy away from! Let me stay on this subject... I got that bacon cheese burger us feel me!? Thick slices so perfect that I could fold them over on each other to eat them! And amazing meal to have before going back to the hotel to get some shut eye! BOO-YAH!!!

Would not recommend unless you are only wanting a salad. The ranch is the only good thing here. The restaurant itself is clean and the staff are rude. My experience however I'm not happy at all. The Chicken fries steak was nasty. It had no flavor and was very chewy. The gravy taste like the kind you get out of a packet. The waitress let me know that the "ONLY" fresh thing on their menu is the salad and the one of the soups. Everything else is frozen and yet they still charge $8 for a small bowl of fried zucchini. I ordered the bean burrito and asked for it to be a bean and cheese, their idea was just to put some cheese on top. Overall I am very disappointed, they charged me $3 for a side salad because it came with the CFS but yet didn't let me know I would be charged because I sent the CFS back. Very sneaky. Just keep driving and find something else.

As stated by previous reviewers, staff is fine, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. My kids had Mac and Cheese from the kids menu (Kraft ). The portion was about the size of a large scoop of ice cream, and cost $5. I had chicken enchiladas, which were pretty flavorless, and they came with rice and beans (obviously from a can) $10. My wife's turkey club was ok, $9. We were starving and saw the signs advertising this place as a family restaurant. Not a family restaurant by any means, and should be listed as American food, not Mexican. Also of note was the numerous flies inside of the restaurant which kept us from relaxing.

I came to eat at this family restaurant after looking through all the Yelp listings and came to the conclusion that this was probably the best place to eat in Lordsburg. While that may be true, the resulting meal was still quite disappointing. It's not that the service is bad or anything. On the contrary, the staff are very friendly--more so than your average diner. The real downfall of this place was ultimately the taste and quality of the food. My party had the grilled cod, roast beef, and beef brisket. The soup of the day was green chile corn chowder, which was actually the best part of the meal as it tasted great. Everything after that was downhill. The grilled cod was oversalted probably to mask the fact that it was overcooked which also ruined the texture. The roast beef's strange texture and bland taste seemed to suggest that the piece of meat was old. The gravy didn't taste quite right either. Finally, the beef brisket tasted okay, but it's not exactly something I would say was delicious. Against my better judgment, I had the stir fried vegetables as the side. The bland watery taste and the fact that some of them were still cold seemed to suggest that they were frozen vegetables that were heated on a skillet for not long enough. In retrospect, I really should have just ordered a burger. It's really hard to ruin a burger. I can't really advise against coming here for food if you're in Lordsburg because the alternatives don't really seem any better, but this experience should serve as a cautionary tale to others to not order anything complicated like any of the items off the Kranberry's Favorites part of the menu.

Good food can't be disappointed. The cinnamon rolls ate huge and the pecan rolls or to die for. Well worth it.

  • Deb S.

Several pluses - the green chili stew was tasty as was the top sirloin which was cooked exactly as ordered (hard to find a place that will really cook it medium rare). Disappointed with the brisket dinner which the waitress recommended - more rice on the plate than meat (4 thin slices). Flavorful enough, just not enough of it. Also, they have WiFi, but don't ask waitress for password, they don't have it.

Kranberry's is a cute mom and pop place. Better than fast food but kind of like a Denny's. Taste was a little off with the breakfast and coffee, maybe it's the water. Service was good and our food came out fast and they're reasonably priced. Would I stop again-maybe but I'd need to be really hungry.

I am driving from Florida to California, and at the end of day four, I needed a vegetable. I was leery of dining here, as the reviews vary wildly. But the salads and fruit seemed to please, so I ordered the "Lo-Cal" plate plus a side salad. The side salad was fresh, had cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and carrots in it. It comes slathered in dressing, so order dressing on the side if a problem. The "Lo-Cal" dinner came next with a generous helping of cottage cheese, three slices of ripe tomato on a large lettuce leaf, mixed fresh fruit, and the protein. I ordered boneless skinless chicken breast, but you can also get a broiled hamburger. The fruit was great--all fresh. Mostly cantaloupe, honey dew and red grapes, but I found a few pieces of grapefruit and one lonely Apple chunk in there too. The small piece of chicken was bland and dry, which is how it is at home when I make it too, so palatable. It was hot when it came. Service was fast and attentive. I asked how late I could come back and get a to-go portion of cobbler, and the waitress told me up until five minutes before close. I plan on going back in a few hours to get some dessert. :)

Never ever disappointed in this place. Service is outstanding, food is great, prices are reasonable. It serves some of the best off-interstate food you could ask for! Stop in every time I'm off I-10 in New Mexico. Its not to be missed!

Been on the road for 11 1/2 hours. This place hits the spot! The food was ok and the overall place was less satisfying than last we ate here. I think it is much better for breakfast than dinner.

Question: have you recently had a surgery where your tastebuds were removed or been the victim of a debilitating disease that left you unable to taste things? If so, you might enjoy a meal at Kranberry's. I can barely remember what I ate, and it was only 5 days ago. Oh, yes a green chile burger. The chile was roasted but somehow still tasteless with some plastic cheese. The fries served with it were cold. The man ate enchiladas. They looked like a version of enchiladas that might be served in a nursing home. He ordered red sauce on the side. I think it was so unappetizing looking that he didn't even try it. Perhaps, the unfortunate souls of Lordsburg live in a bubble, somehow separate from the rest of New Mexico, unable to know or enjoy New Mexican foods or taste things in general? That is the only explanation I can come up with. Magically, the salsa is not terrible. The only bright spot in a sea of blah... There was a time when people literally risked their lives to get to Lordsburg (see Stagecoach). That time has passed. Move on Yelpers, on down the road. Hatch is about an hour and a half away.

The worst taco salad I have ever eaten! Who puts carrots on a taco salad! My daughter had a terrible chicken teriyaki. My wife did enjoy her chili beans however. The blackberry cobbler was cold in the middle. Saw others eating hamburgers. They did not look very tasty.

DISCLAIMER: I am rating this restaurant for what it is - an oasis in the desert. This place would get 3 stars tops if it were in the city somewhere. PROS: - Clean bathrooms - Clean everything - Consistently good to great service - Fresh vegetables in the salads / burger toppings - Fun desserts, to go desserts - Kid friendly (4 crayons per kid activity menu) - Cold A/C MEH: - "Mexican" food - think Denny's makes Mexican - Soups all taste canned - Spiciness of their salsa and food can vary WILDLY - Pay up front not at the table Overall absolutely great considering the area (which for me is miles and miles of freeway through small towns and fast food). A great break from the road.

Was on trip from KS to Tucson, AZ and about lunch time was passing by after 19 or so hours on road. Checked Yelp and seen others had liked this place, they were not wrong very friendly staff and atmosphere as well as very good food! No room left for deserts but their pies and cinnamon rolls looked great, have to stop just to try them when passing by again!

This place is great for a quick stop off the freeway for breakfast or lunch and even dinner ,easy off and on ,great parking , its clean, the staff is super nice, the food is good and thats it what more do you expect a 5 star restaurant in the middle of well almost nowhere .

  • Gerald W.

Maybe the best restaurant in the city but it does not make it great! Ok the city is very short on restaurants, and if you try to opt for something that is not fast food, this is one of your choices, and it is also open later than the rest, making it the only choice for a few people... that said the service is very good and the restaurant is very clean. The problem is the food is just OK, and it is clearly frozen and cooked to order meals delivered by the food service industry. The hamburgers are fine, the fries are fine, the soup is fine, everything is fine, and you will get a meal that tastes pretty good... nothing here is great, except for some of the desserts, but if you want a clean place to eat that is not fast food, then this is the place in town. Also there is Wifi, and free parking in the front, and the prices are a little high, but that is understandable as there is not much competition to keep the prices low. I would return here if I was in town as again the food options are limited and the menu here is pretty diverse.

I did not pick this place to eat. The smell as you walk in the door should give you an idea as to the quality of "food" they serve here. Even the water was salty. The only nice thing I can say is that the waitress we had was polite and took what I ordered off the ticket when she saw I took a bite and a half of it.

If you're tired if fast food this might work for you. I went with the Hawaiian burger, it. Was just your run of the mill burger...pre-formed patty with no salt and pepper added when it was grilled, the same for the fries, frozen an were on the limp side. However, the raspberry iced tea was really good! If you're looking for family style cooked food don't expect to find it here. Average food from an average restaurant.

Well no relaxing beer after 11 hours of driving cuz they don't serve it. Cute place, salad was good. But my chicken strips came with what looks like box rice mix and frozen mixed vegetables (the veggies are def from a bag). That was disappointing... Ketchup is in a Heinz bottle but def isn't that brand. The tartar sauce my mom had with her fish and chips looked like it had been sitting out awhile. Maybe a good breakfast spot, but I'm glad my hotel has complimentary breakfast tomorrow.

Ive been through Lordsburg a ton of times, even stayed in the motels near this place and had never noticed or been there. Pleasant surprise. Ate breakfast here and it was really good. I can't exactly remember the name of what I got, but it was biscuits and gravy with bacon and scrambled eggs and hashbrowns as I recall. All of it was really good. The gravy wasn't watery and bland, had an actual taste and the hashbrowns were thick and tasty. Was also really impressed with their homemade salsa I used on the eggs. Nice and spicy, very good stuff. Wouldn't call this a Denny's, that would give it a negative connotation in my book. This place is much better than a dennys. The waiter was quick and attentive. Will definitely make this a stop when I go though Lordsburg from now on.

Stopped here for lunch on our way east on I-10. Had the Stuffed Tomato, but had them substitute green chili's for the bell peppers. Great taste, the tuna salad was very good and the chili's added some nice zip to the whole dish. For a salad, it was pleasantly filling, but not overly so. My wife got the peach cobbler, unfortunately for me, not sugar free, but I still ate a couple of bites. It tasted just like the ones my Mom used to make. Just for good measure, she also got a blackberry cobbler to go. The service was excellent! Would recommend if you're on the road and need a nice place for a meal.

SAVE YOUR MONEY, HONEY!!! Turn around and go down the highway a lil further and just get fast food... seriously, not very good - you can actually go to a denny's a lil further down the highway, where you know what to expect. mexicans using fake taco shells (what the H???) there's not THAT many people around here, you can afford the time to fry them properly... and the meat was questionable. as well as the green chile stew - who knows if it's even fresh at all... besides the blandness, etc. even the truckers know to just get a salad there... seriously. we stopped eating to make sure that we didnt get the stummy's down the road... we were sad to waste the money, we were sad that our mouths and tummies were not satisfied. wacala cacala - 4 thumbs down from me and my husband.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
