Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

One my favorite places to eat in Las Cruces, the wait staff is friendly and remembers me and my family (including our orders and drink preferences) and it's never full, so there's no long waits to be seated. They have a menu, but there's only one item I ever get, and that's their green enchiladas with chicken. It's literally changed and redefined my view of what a good enchilada consists of.

we felt judged....we are a little scummy, but shitty over paying just to feel judged.......Fuck it.

Unfortunately, the service is very slow and there are no real pork free options (except the burger). All beans are made with pork or lard (refried). Their steamed corn tortillas are off - why not use a comal? The guacamole is okay, but seems like it has a little too much garlic and not enough lime. The place doesn't appear terribly clean and is dank and dark in atmosphere. I also had a recent very poor service experience in which the waitress told me one thing (regarding a mere $2.40 line item) and was overruled by her manager/owner, in front of my colleagues, in a very uncomfortable and rude manner. Finally, I don't like paying at the counter - the wait staff should take care of that.

Always a favorite stop. I am surrounded by locals in our family and this is our first stop when in town. Green sauce is amazing.

Their green enchiladas have to be the best ones i have tried at a restaurant! They also have fast, friendly, and great service!

The Best Red Chili con Carne in Las Cruces! Not quite Sadies in ABQ, but this chile is full of lean flavorful pork! If Red is your favorite- this is a "must try" Portions huge! Salsa/chips great too! Best hidden Gem in LC!

Four of us stopped into My Brother's Place today for lunch. Two of us had huevos rancheros with green meat (chunks of beef, green chiles, and onions) and beans. No complaints about their selections. My wife had the chicken fajita salad which was good, but she has had better. I had the sopapilla compuesta which was a sopapilla covered with beans, cheese, green meat, tomatoes, and lettuce. It was good. Service was very good. Will return.

Dark place, did not like the burrito plate. Pork was overcooked and sauce was not to our liking. Tortilla was dry and tough. Locals seem to like this place so it may just be our preferences.

One of my top 5 favorite in my hometown. I am sitting here in NoCal dreaming of it as I type. My favorite salsa in the world. I love the fajita salads and any of the burritos...and for that matter, any of the specials. The staff here are amazing, as are the owners. I miss it so...go for me and tell them Stacey misses them...terribly!

I terribly miss food from back home, being in Calfornia for "mexican" food has been awful.... I visit this place any time I am back home...I have never been huge on meats/pork..but I LOVE their carne bowl!!!!

This place is always fun and affordable. I often meet friends there for dinner. The tacos are great and service is always good. It's not a fancy place but always nice. The bar and pool hall downstairs is always super fun.

Meh. I don't really understand the love for My Brother's Place. The food has been decent and the service is fine, but I usually come away with slight indigestion and clothes that smell like the kitchen. I'd pass for another place.

I feel obligated, based on one particular review, to give my opinion about the service. Each and every time that I have gone to this restaurant, the staff has bent over backwards to provide the highest level of service. In fact, this is one of the few restaurants in town that I enjoy taking my kids, who are both under 3. As any parent knows, dining with little ones can be a challenge, and you need to have an understanding restaurant staff for certain occasions (you know, like when your kids just decide out of the blue to have a breakdown). Not only is the staff great with the kids, this is my FAVORITE place to take my kids for a great meal, specifically because of how warm and accommodating the staff is ! I can only assume that, on occasion, the restaurant has a customer service issue that results in a bad review, but in my twenty or so visits, over more than a decade, I have experienced the exact opposite.

Two choices of pool rooms to choose from. One in the Cantina kitty-corner to the restaurant, and one below where the restaurant is. Both are great places to play pool and have a beer, and both areas have good bartenders. The jukebox downstairs plays a little more on the alternative side and the one in the Cantina is more countryfied. There's free pool after nine on most days and I hear the restaurant is decent. This is a great place to bring a group of friends and chill out. The ambience is usually quite nice and there have only been a few times where the clientel have tried to get a little rowdy.

What are you doing sitting at your desk? Don't you know there's FREE pool at My Brother's Place during the weekday afternoons?! Good eats for breakfast, too!

Love love love the food here. Probably some of the best Mexican I've ever had. Definitely the best taco and cheese enchilada. Do yourself a favor. Go here and order the green combination. SO GOOD! We had the nicest server. She took very good care of us. The salsa is some of the best I've had. It was spicy! I hate Mexican places that are afraid of offending gringos with spice. Even my picky friend loved the salsa and the food. The ambience in the restaurant is cute. There's a little fountain in the middle of the restaurant. I don't know what smell people are complaining of. Downstairs in the pool table area smelled like a bar but the eating area was fine. The only downside is the restaurant closes early, like around 8:30.

I am a very strict vegetarian. I asked my waitress when I was ordering if the beans had lard, and she said that they only have vegetable oil. I ordered the green enchilada plate with beans and rice, ate all of my beans and rice before I became full, and brought my enchiladas home (the bite I had was delicious, FYI). I started feeling really ill and called the restaurant, and I was told by the manager that the beans AND rice are made with lard. The food was good, but I am very disappointed that I now feel disgustingly nauseated because my server was ignorant. If you are a vegetarian you might not want to trust the waitstaff who obviously aren't concerned with what they are serving.

This is about the restaurant, not the adjoining bar and pool hall. It's been a year since I've been there, and I've only been one time, but I had the best enchiladas with green sauce anywhere! That may have been the best tasting food of any sort I've ever eaten. The green sauce is heavenly.

I remember going to My Brother's Place every friday growing up. Love this place, the staff is so nice and the food is great. They have great enchiladas, make sure to get green they are the best and w/ an egg, it just makes the experience 10 times better!!

Dollar drafts and free pool on Wed. nights? Good idea. Eating food here? NO. We had to call it an early night after eating. Stale tortilla chips, dried out french fries, my mom's beef burrito was dried out ground beef wrapped in a cold flour tortilla. We felt so bad we had to leave before enjoying our dollar drafts.
