Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.
Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics
Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

2 Egg Low-Cholesterol Egg Substitute Omelette with Part-Skim Mozzarella
If you are concerned about high blood pressure, then you must try food items from the kid's menu at Village Inn as most food items on their regular menu are high in sodium. However, you can always bet on salads for rescue. Instead of dining alone, you can visit the Village Inn in groups to keep the sodium intake in check.
Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Sausage Links & Eggs, Sausage Patties & Eggs, Biscuit & Gravy with Eggs, 6 oz. Top Sirloin Eggs, Ham Steak & Eggs, Egg Benedict, and Country Benedict from Village Inn's breakfast menu. It is also recommended to skip the Skillet options at Village Inn for its high sodium content. Among the omelets, avoid Denver Omelette, Country Music Star Omelette, and French Spinach & Bacon Omelette. Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Village Inn
Village Inn is a large chain that dishes out poor quality food at affordable prices. The food isn't prepared fresh daily, rather ordered from food distributors and served to the masses. How anyone could give this better than even a 3-star baffles me. The food is sub-bar, at best. In fact, I wouldn't eat anything other than breakfast here. Meanwhile, if Denny's, IHOP, Shoneys, Bob Evans, Waffle House, etc, are you favorite restaurants you'll love this Village Inn, which gets tons of traffic from the few hotels that surround it. Sure, it's cheap. No one is going to argue that, but the quality is terrible. Our breakfast was below average. The bacon tastes microwaved, our toast resembled something that was bought in the grocery store aisle weeks ago and they brought us the wrong pancakes. It's your average American chain, low grade diner. What is worth stopping in for, however, if a slice of pie. In fact, it's the only reason we'd come back. Their pies are affordable, edible and tasty. Come for a late night dessert and a hot chocolate and you'll leave with a smile. Eat a full meal here and the grease might keep you grounded - in the bathroom.

I just love the Rio Grande Skillet and I had to save room for the new pie, White Chocolate Key Lime. That pie rocks. The service is great every time I come here, the people are warm and friendly, the food is quick and the restaurant has TV's that I can watch while I'm waiting for my friends.

Excellent breakfast, hot pancake syrup, friendly staff, quick service! We had chicken fried steak, hashbrowns, country potatoes, bacon, biscuits and gravy, perfect eggs, pancakes and the pie...on my the pie! Thanks Village Inn for a great experience! Wish we had come here for dinner last night, too!

Probably the best burger in Farmington, which doesn't have any real restaurants. No frozen patty here, and generous blue cheese crumbles and leaf lettuce vs shredded lettuce from a bag. The fries were cooked right and crispy and not soaked dripping with oil as is so customary. I was glad the portion was modest and not the gluttonous pile per American standards. The deep fried all-you-can eat fish and chips (Fridays) looked good and crispy, and I expect most of the prepared dishes are good quality. The salads also looked good and healthy if you control your dressing. We drove around searching for a more local bistro or restaurant, and returned here discouraged but very satisfied with Village Inn. Leave a nice tip for hardworking local staff and kudos to management for taking a standard national chain formula and making it perform with distinction.

I always enjoy coming here. Love the service, value and food. My husband loves the waffles and I love their burgers! They never seem to disappoint us when we visit. You have to ask for George's discount... A local radio personality...and it makes the experience more enjoyable. Who doesn't like a discount with their meal.

A typical diner atmosphere. Staff were always nice and service was good! The strawberry crepe combo hit the spot and my craving. Ordered it again later that week and the second time there was too much cream in the center. Breakfast is served all day. Specials: Navajo Taco Tuesday Free Pie Wednesday (with a meal purchase)

Western here for breakfast last year and loved it. This visit it was terrible. What a disappointment. Has Browns looked like they were put through a river and then frozen. Omelets with little variation and and unimaginative hollandaise aside that seemed to come from a jar. Service was good.

I have been to Village Inns all over the country and they are all the same. They are always a little sketchy, the food is always the same (pretty good, but not great), and there is always pretty good people watching to be had. This VI location is no different. If you go in with low expectations, you will leave happy.

This VI has a good management team compared to many others I have visited. The food is the same and matches or exceeds thier normal standards. Love the pies!!

During our stay in Farmington, my friend and I had dinner and breakfast here since this restaurant was very close to our motel. The menu offers the typical American fare of breakfast dishes, salads, sandwiches, burgers, comfort dishes, and desserts (plenty of pies). Check out the menu at villageinn.com The Chicken Fried Steak served with mashed potatoes and covered with a sausage milk gravy and the Fishermans Platter (fried shrimp & cod) with fries, were both decent, not great, but enough to satisfy the hunger. For breakfast, we both had Denver Omelettes with hash browns and pancakes, which were very filling with our bottomless coffees. The service was decent on each visit with refills offered on drinks (iced tea and coffee). We were actually seated at the same booth for dinner and breakfast, different servers. However, during the dinner visit, we were never offered dessert, just the check presented. It was getting late anyways.

During our stay here for our Missions Trip, one of the nights the youth group and I went .to this little Denny's Style diner to grub on some food. I heard bad things about the service from the night before, because another team had gone here then, but I guess they weren't prepared for 100+students from southern orange county hah. Oh well, I came with an opened mind. I had their Seafood combo, which was cool because I got to pick the sides, and I love onion rings and corn, so that's what I got. Shrimp was breaded and fried to a crispy golden crunch. Very good and fresh. The Battered fish was alright, seemed like the batter was a little soggy by the time it came out and the fish was somewhat small. I mean still pretty good, but i'm sure it was hanging out in mister freezer before anyone ordered it. Onions rings were your typical breaded ones, corn was a nice fresh compliment. My friend had the club sandwich and it looked mighty impressive. Lots of fresh veggies, loaded with turkey, avocado, lettuce and tomatoes and griddled. My other friend had the french dip and this looked pretty good too. Slices of roast beef and cheese all on top of a nice crisp french roll that was toasted. What shined for us, were the pies, oh the pies, so very good and fresh. We came on a night where it every meal came with a free slice, so we went at it. The Strawberry Rhubarb was nice, fresh, and not too sweet with a nice little tang to it. The pie crust was flakey, not too thick, had a great butter flavor and complimented well with the filling. Their banana creme pie was soo good. Not too sweet, very cool and clean, the bananas were fresh and not mushy at all. Same crust as above, so it was pretty much perfect. The English Truffle "Pie." WOW this was delectable. Very rich chocolate mouse, with a cookie crust. I honestly only finished about 1/2 of mine because it was soo rich. I loved it because the dark chocolate really shone in this. YUM. Nice little place if you're ever stuck in Farmington =D
