I have been to St. Claire many times. It is always great. I met a friend from out of town there a few days ago. I suggested he try the pot roast, which he did. He could not believe how good it was. The mashed potatoes and the veggies are excellent as well. Our server was the best, and told us she had worked there for 3 years. This speaks well of the place. By the way, do yourself a favor and try the green chile wine.

Pros: Outstanding Management, Service, and Hosts, Great Food, Delicious Wines, Relaxing Atmosphere Cons: Lack of Locations My wife and I no longer live in Farmington and left just before St. Clair's was placed in Farmington. We now live on the East coast and look forward to our visits home and dining at St. Clair's while we are home. St.Clair's has everything that we look for in a restaurant, great style, atmosphere, the service and staff is beyond hospitable. We went here several times while on Christmas vacations with our family. Most times were for dinner, however we enjoyed lunch and a few breaks from the holiday shopping. I will start by saying the service and welcome is outstanding. We were greeted on many occasions by managers and various staff. Regardless of being served we were continuously offered if someone could help us or get us anything. (Ben, Lawrance, Molly, Treasure, and many other servers provided us with top notch service.) The food is excellent. The "french country dishes" are excellent quality and good portions. Some dishes have a Southwest/New Mexico spin on them, items like the Pasta New Mexico, Pasta Danielle, and other items. The steaks were always cooked to our liking. The few sandwiches we had were delicious. Their menu has most of their items paired with a wine, most are pair fairly well. The wines are great overall. They seem to have a few different types, St. Clair's, Blue Teal, and DH Lescombes. I was partial and would recommend the DH Lescombes and felt the Blue Teal was less than average. Try the wine flights as they provide good portions and way to get a good idea of which wines are best for you. Both Ports are very good if into sweet, strong, red wines. St. Clair's also hosted our family baby shower in their events room, which provided plenty of space for up to 60 people. They provided a few overly-courteous servers to make sure that everything was taken care of and all our needs were met. They were beyond helpful and made the event that much easier and greater. St. Clair's will also host other special events, private tastings, catering, group meetings, weddings, and holiday parties. Overall, I highly recommend this place! Between the location, atmosphere, service, wine, food, and overall experience and hospitality, this place is amazing. As said in another post, I would much rather have this place than the Olive Garden next door. We want to thank St. Clair's for the experiences we had while home and for them hosting our Baby Shower while we were home. Thanks and we look forward to dining here again!

This was the best lunch I've had in a long time. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was cozy and romantic all at the same time, the portions were large, the wine was fantastic, and the price was right. I will go back many times in the future. Who needs the Olive Garden next door when you have this bistro?

Came here on a whim and it was awesome! Had a bottle of chard that was very good and the ahi tuna was great. Our server was awesome (Rebekah) and the place was clean and hospitable. I don't live in New Mexico but I will most definitely come back to St Clair's when I visit.

I went back for---the kale/brussel spout salad! I also tried their meatloaf--which was so good--each loaf is sliced as if it looks like a patty and gets grill marks. The meatloaf was moist and very flavorful--served with green beans and potatoes. Again, because I was driving solo, I was not able to try the wines. I hope they give me the recipe for that salad, though!

Hi, Maybe I am just a "hater" of Farmington. On the scale of 1-5 Stars, I put a 2 overall but for Farmington, I would say 3.5. Is that a review of St. Clair or is that a review of Farmington. As a business owner, this is one of the few places I will take an out of town guest. I will generally be over-apologetic before arriving. The wine? It's good for New Mexico. (Is this a Farmington bashing in disguise?) The food? Depends. Sometimes it has been very good and others, not so much. The randomness of quality is the part that scares me. I will say, complimentary, the atmosphere is very nice (for Farmington - damn! there I go again.) I usually enjoy the experience, especially over the Chili's or Applebee's down the street. You can't go wrong, in Farmington. :)

2 Stars: Server needed more training, food was not up to par, and long wait for food My last dinner in Farmington and heard good things about St. Clair's. There was no wait, but we did go on a Sunday night. The manager greeted us and shortly after the server introduced himself and took our drink order. I asked for extra lemon wedges on the side for my water and he forgot to bring them. We ordered the Mac & Cheese Bites and a glass of Malvasia Bianca to start. These items were good, but the server did not clear the plates until well after we were done eating. We ordered a hand-cut Ribeye with shrimp scampi on the side, a hand-cut Sirloin, kids chicken tenders, and kids buttered noodles. While we were waiting we ordered a different glass of wine; which the server forgot to give us. Then, when we thought he was coming back to tell us about the wine, maybe a shortage, he told us they were out of potatoes, which was a standard side on both of our dishes. After about another 10 minutes we finally received our food; which I thought was mediocre, warm and lacked a little flavor. Shortly after, the manager came by to ask how everything was and I had to tell her we were missing our shrimp scampi. Usually, I am not one to complain; however, after the sever forgot 3x on separate occasions, I had to say something. The manager did give us 20% off our total bill without us asking for anything, which we were appreciative. I would try this place again and hopefully next time will be better. Maybe this night was just a bad night for the restaurant & server.

A bit pricey, but decent food and great service. Seasonal music, great wine, perfect for an upscale date where you're more worried about the company than the entree. Honestly, the main appeal of St.Clair to me is the vino and the nosh. My favorite thing to order is the cheese plate, paired with something from the wine menu.

I ordered Julien's Spinach Salad (minus bacon and red onions) with grilled chicken and pecan vinaigrette dressing. UMMM yum. I wasn't too sure how I would like this salad because I opted out with the bacon and onions, but I was very surprised. The grilled chicken was grilled perfect, the dressing was delicious and the sweet roasted cashews were so good. Service was excellent, my drink was constantly being replenished. Great job, St. Clair in Farmington!

OH THANK GOD FOR FINE DINING IN FARMINGTON! After some not so great meals around town and at my conference I made sure to reserve a seat at the very lovely, perfectly cooled, nice live music, awesome wine and food place on East Main. I'm lucky to live one mile away from the ABQ location. The server was awesome, wine great, and pot roast meal superb. I even splurged on dessert. Patrons were dressed up and restored my faith that smaller local/regional restaurants equal what true dining is about. THANK YOU ST. CLAIR for being there when I really needed you!

Fresh, flavorful, better than O.G. next door. Had the burger...daughter had the chicken picatta...so delicious!! Coming back!!!

We were in Farmington for a family reunion and were looking for an interesting place that we could take my parents. St. Clair Bistro was the perfect place to enjoy a bottle of wine and a nice meal. When we first arrived, we noticed a sign outside indicating a Wednesday wine tasting. The hostess told us that they had been very busy, and it would be about 20 minutes for a table. We decided to wait, since they have a nice waiting area/bar/wine shop. We ordered a bottle of one of their "house" wines, which was good. All of their wine is made in New Mexico (obviously not a region generally known for their grapes... most of their wines are blends, and probably need a little more time in the barrel.) Within a few minutes of opening our bottle, we were told a table was available, so we moved into a cozy booth by the kitchen. The kale and brussels sprout salad was quite fresh and tasty; the caprese salad suffered from underripe tomatoes. Pasta seemed to be the thing here, so we ordered Southwest Chicken fettuccine and a Southwest meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Both arrived in a timely manner, and were very good. So good, in fact that we ordered another bottle of wine! Our waitress was very nice, and offered us dessert, even though we didn't leave room. If I lived in Farmington, I would definitely go out of my way to support this local business and winery.

St. Clair s gets a 4 star for Farmington standards; anywhere else I would probably give it a 2.5 or 3. But, in Farmington the choices are limited and St. Claire stands out. Green chilie macaroni is really great, and the wines are yum.
(4)Robin K.
Mine of my favorites, good local food always fresh. Great service and the wine selection is wonderful. I have never had a meal there I did not enjoy. Big bonus is its local!
(5)Walt B.
Great atmosphere and plenty of wine! We had what was apparently a new waiter though! The evening started out with a dropped and shattered wine bottle next to our table. Glass chucks were dispersed as far as 3 feet away! Next three of us ordered steak. The order took a long time! When we were finally served one of the steaks was warm and the other two were better. Three of us then ordered dessert, and again this took a long time! The bread pudding sounded wonderful but was as good as it sounded. In all a 2+ hour meal! The next day we found out that the credit card we had used, had been compromised. No idea if this is related to our meal purchase..
(3)Jared G.
This place was a nice surprise. I had the pot roast and a couple of glasses of their DH Pinot wine and both were great. I also had the brownie ice cream dessert and that was not all that great. The brownie was dried out and not very good. Nice restaurant though! Would go back for sure.
(4)Roy T.
My wife and I were on our way to Yellowstone and stopped for the night. What a pleasant surprise! We stopped in for the wine tasting and stayed for dinner. Our server, Lisa made the experience even better. The food, was great. this place was a gem! More important is it was not over price.
(5)Kelli M.
This is a pretty fancy resturaunt. I think their food is pretty good but it's not good enough to keep me going back very often. I like olive garden better.
(3)Obie F.
Had a pleasant lunch. The Bistro burger and Mesilla chicken sandwich were deliteful. I cannot however say any thing good about the fries that accompanies the sandwiches. They were too small and hard. Change the fries and get four stars.
(3)Diane K.
I was in town on business looking for upscasle food/drinks & found this place to be very welcoming & friendly. As a matter of fact, I became a 'pass through' regular b/c the staff is so down to earth, service is beyond what you expect and the food is so fresh and delish. The wines..and beer are outstanding. For wine I recommend the D.H. Lescrombes Petit verdot and/or the cab sav for reds (not a fan of the whites or light reds...but, sure they are good too)) and for beer the stout. I had the chopped kale-brussel sprout salad that came with warm bread, crusty outside & soft inside & a side of whipped butter all of which was fresh and delicious!! A definite must go to if you are in the area. It is fun & relaxing as much as it is romantic and charming. Yup, you get the best of both worlds.
(5)Latisha S.
I love St. Clair. The service is always great, the atmosphere is great after a long work day, and the food is amazing. My friends frequent our girls lunch here, and share the D.H. Lescombes Cabernet. I have also been to, and had a party in their banquet room, and the service was top notch as they catered to a large group.

This place used to be one of the best service restaurant in Farmington. Like I said! Used to be ! Now the service is terribly slow. The food is good but if they want to keep their customers they need to step up for their services! I don't think I will come back anytime soon.
(1)Jessica K.
Poor service and poor food quality and presentation. We had to send some items back. The wine was the best part. Our server seemed rushed and distracted. Where is the manager in this place? This used to be an amazing local restaurant but sadly it too has fallen victim to Farmington's lack of competent service providers, rushed food preparation, and poor management. I'd rather buy a bottle of wine here and make my own food at home. I won't return for food. But I do suggest a nice bottle of Mimbres Red, chilled.

What a great find in Farmington NM!!! Wonderful ambiance, and service. The food was very good. I had the salmon filet and my partner had the pot roast. He is still raving about it 3 days later. Best he ever had. I also enjoyed the Zinfandel. It was surprisingly quite nice. We wished we had another night in town to go back and sample something else on the menu, also had some great entertainment on patio!!!
(5)Samantha K.
I frequent the place on my work trips since it's got awesome food for a hungry worker bee! On my most recent trip here I am terribly upset because they've completely changed the menu! It's not the same restaurant and I've never had the worst waitress! My food came out cold and in order for them to heat it up I waited an extra 15 minutes and by the time it came out my party had already finished their meals. Not the same quality food as before either. Very upsetting!

Fresh ingredients, good execution. The St. Clair Chicken looks fantastic and is an interesting culinary idea (basically a take on coq au vin with Chardonnay instead of red wine,) but would have been better with a tad more salt and garlic. Portions were generous--had about half my entree left to take home! The seasonal Chenin Blanc was delightful. Wine was served from a mini personal carafe--cute idea. Price was just right--about $20 for a glass of wine and a hearty meal with leftovers to spare. Service was better than average.

This place is awesome!! Staff is very friendly and the food tasted great. The ambiance was nice too. My waitress, Kyley, was very personable and gave me great recommendations. She said that anything with green chile was good. I took her suggestion on the pasta New Mexico. They sell it as a half entree too. I ordered the half entree and boy was I satisfied! The complementary bread was delicious! It was very soft and fresh with a nice crispy crust. They have a great selection of wine. Kyley poured me a selection of their daily special and it was so good, I ended up ordering a glass to go with my meal.

If you are used to fast food and in a hurry don't bother because you will post a bad review. Compared to Olive Garden next door I will always eat here
(4)Doug G.
Very Nice... for Farmington NM. The pot roast was very good!!! Everyone at our table seemed to love the food. Service was OK!!! Wine list..... well I just came from living in Napa.
(4)Sadie R.
Inconsistent, at best. Once in a while I got good service and food there. Other times, the exact opposite... fish came out raw and the service was horrible. I mean HORRIBLE. I have never had a satisfactory wait for my food, whether it was good or not. I always had to wait far too long. Given the coin toss on everything, I gave up on St. Clair's.
(2)Dylan H.
Decent parking and a clean restaurant, this place is a little overshadowed by the Olive Garden next door. I recommend the New Mexico pasta that masterfully blends the tastes of green chile and sun dried tomatoes. There is a pile of cheese in the middle, so a good stirring is recommended before tasting. The service is spot on and the desserts are attractive.
(4)Wendi L.
Very nice resturaunt for the area and my absolute favorite. Many choices on the menu, a great waitstaff and pretty surroundings. The wine is also fabulous. I go every chance I get.
(5)Heather C.
I don't know what the hype is. Maybe you have to drink a lot of their wine for their food to be good. Food was, for lack of a better term, gross. Another time we went in just for a quick drink. The bartender was literally cussing up a storm left & right, complaining non-stop. Then complained to us. Horrible. We do not recommend.

this place has changed my life! we have lived in the farmington area for 15 months and have only found 2 restaurants we really enjoy. this place is top notch!!! the service was amazing! the manager, benjamin, greeted us at the front door. our server, margo, was awesome and really tried to accommodate us since we had our two little boys dinning with us. i was really impressed to find this type of service in farmington. oh the ambiance was on a whole different level. just for a moment it seemed like we were not in farmington. the food was amazing. i ordered the southwest burger and it came with steak fries. they were both tasty. the beef was amazing! it had some killer seasoning and tasted like it was smoked too. my wife had the st clair chicken. she liked it alot but she sure loved the mashed potatoes. dinner for 2 adults & 1 child was $34. i will definitely be back!!!!

The two stars for the food. The food gets 5 out of 5 but this rating is for an overall experience. I went there alone and elected to sit at the bar and enjoy dinner. The lady behind the bar had a sweet demeanor but only for show. She was soft spoken but extremely rude in that tone. I tried to ask her questions about the wine on the wine list and she kept trying to push special wines NOT on the list, hence no visible price. Turns out she was pushing more expensive wines on me. Ok, got through that hurdle of being interrupted and finally got a glass of wine. Turns out this lady has a habit of interrupting and correcting. She insist that I correct my pronunciation of Meritage because she knows better. I am no wine expert but I have traveled all over to visit wineries. Please don't tell me how to pronounce something. Even if I am not experienced there is a way to kindly tell people or just don't. Can't order food without her stopping me to ask questions. I can't finish a sentence. Got through that. Waiting for food, sipping on wine and I hear her complaining to a fellow employee about something. Fine, they are having a spat... she comes over and starts complaining to me about her work environment. Really? You will complain to me and tell me all the bad things about the restaurant I am eating at? 15 minutes later, I have my food. Enjoying my delicious meal (the food is good here) and I get this lady pushing her side business on to me now. Telling me how I should talk to her if I ever want to travel because she has a business and she can get me good deals on international and national travel. Will go back but definitely avoiding this lady. What an awful experience. It's a classy restaurant, please act like someone who has standards.
(2)Joe E.
Nice clean place, food needs some work. Crab cakes had no crab meat or crab flavor that we could find, plus they were burnt. The pan was way to hot for the oil they used to fry them in. Chicken was dry and fish and chips were, eh, so-so. Probably will not go back, just not worth it.
(3)Dallas S.
Show up early on a Friday night or else you will be waiting. Great wine and dinner with a comfortable atmosphere. Live music sets the mood and nothing pairs like a dark red and a perfectly grilled steak. By far the best place in Farmington, NM. I enjoy a meal from this place every time I'm in town and I've yet to be disappointed.
(5)T. A.
The salmon was perfectly cooked and the entire meal very good. Our food server was very knowledgeable about the menu and accomadated every special request by our party. Will definitely return.
