Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Good value meal en route to our hotel in Farmington. Plenty of choices, even for the veggie. Chose the steak/ shrimp el diablo for him and a chile relleno for me. Accompanied mine with a house margarita - recommended! Churro's for dessert, which were a surprise as they are stuffed with the sauce, rather than for dipping on the side. Great for families and groups, with excellent service, this is a solid choice for Mexican in the four corners region.

What happened???? Fiesta Mexicana used to be good. Now, I will avoid this place at all costs. I had fajitas. The beans tasted weird. The rice had no flavor with the frozen mixed vegetables tossed in (with Lima beans...yuck!). The serving portion of the steak was skimpy. The taste of the steak was very questionable as it tasted like the meat was spoiled and then covered up with as much seasoning as possible. Needless to say, I did not finish it and refused to take it with me. I was literally waiting for the onset of food poisoning to occur. It seems like Fiesta Mexicana is either struggling to get by or they practically don't care...or maybe they're just a front for a drug cartel.

Upon arrival in Farmington (our first time here) the girl working the front desk at our hotel told us Fiesta Mexicana was a must-eat in town and rivaled the great New Mexican food found in Las Cruces, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, etc. We rushed there for dinner and left disappointed. The food here doesn't rival it's southern peers. In fact, it doesn't compare. This small chain is below average, unfortunately. The biggest drawback was service. It took an Act of Congress to get a refill on a drink (20 minutes, twice), even a second beer took 20 minutes, and the place was empty. Very slow, poor service. The food, wasn't much better. We both order dishes that included chicken. The chicken tasted boiled (at a Mexican place, come on!). It was bland and flavorless. The green chili sauce was average. Nothing to complain about there and I have to give them credit, we enjoyed their salsa. Meanwhile, the overall flavor on everything else was non-existent. If you're coming to drink margaritas, you'll probably love this place. If it's award winning New Mexican, use caution. This is average, at best, Mexican and while you'll leave full (they dish out large portions) I doubt you'll want to make a quick return.

Warning! Warning! Warning! Turn around. Do not enter. Bad service with worse food. 2 x Margaritas plus shrimp Corel plus combination &50++. Are you kidding me? If the food was good, maybe, But just edible? My Coctel del Commerones. Was terrible. Shrimp Was supposed to be cold but whole thing was room temp. Hope i do not get sick!

Worst Mexican food I've had in a very long time. I think they used some kind of stewed meat... it was awful. I'm from new mexico, green chili capital of the world and that was not green chili. I liked the salsa. That was all.

Walk in on a Sunday late afternoon about 315 was greeted great and shown the table quickly. That's how they get one star. The restaurant was almost empty maybe 5 table we waited about 15 min before the hoisted came back and waited to move us booth because they forgot about us! She then ask a young man who I assume was the waiter if he can take care of us. He the rolled his eyes and said "I guess" at this point we said" we will just go it seem like we are inconvenience to you all" the waiter ask if we are sure as he walk away.

This is my go to Mexican restaurant. They start you off with the yummiest salsa and chips you ever had. The margaritas come in a cereal bowl-sized glass. They use the right salt and the margarita itself is mixed to perfection. There are so many different kinds! My favorite is the Purple Cadillac. But try all of them, find your favorite. We always come here first before karaoke. The food is also delicious. My husband likes the chicken mole. Experiment! This restaurant is a gem.

Well we went to this resturant last night, as a huge group. We waited for at least an hour for seating. When we finally not to our table they get our drinks, and small bows of chips and salsa ???? We were a 20 top they should of had bigger baskets of chips for us, we seen other tables getting big baskets of chips, the salsa was ok but not the best. We recieved our dinner 30 mins later, which not all plates were even recieved, my niece got her plate as the rest of us were done, in which we kept asking for the plates that were missing, which were 3 plates. my husband and I got the flaming fiesta combo, the asada was very bland, the chicken was ok. We all didn't recieve any of our tortillas till we were pretty much done with our food but the food was deffinently not worth how much we paid, We will not be returning to this resturant at all.

Excellent service and great food! The chips and salsa are pretty good and this is one of the better Mexican restaurants in town! It's the cats meow!

This is very americanized, out-of-the-can, overcooked Mexican. At least the margaritas are decent.

we have gone back multiple times and enjoyed great food. i would say the service is sometimes a 3 or 5 star. every time we go when we try to check out the server goes missing. so my wife loads up the family in the ride and i sit and wait. then i go to the hostess desk and ask for the server. so now i'm prepared and i have a routine down. good service just depends on the day. i gave this place an updated review rating of 4 because it's one of the top 2 mexican restaurants in farmington.

Friendly staff, nice decor & music. Food was good, but not great. We're from Arizona so the food is different.

I always love coming to the colorful and festive atmosphere of this fun restaurant. The food is wonderful too. Drinks? Great selection. Some of the names I've never heard of before. Fiesta Mexicana is a great addition to the Farmington restaurant scene! You can even practice your spanish here... after a few cervezas, it's "Donde esta el bano??" :)

I think we might just be regulars. Great food and service. The chips and salsa are good. The kids menu is a little lacking, but they really do have some delicious Mexican food.

Food was pretty good but no wow factor. The salsa and chips were delicious.I suppose it's pretty authentic because many mexican locals eat here. I didn't like my mole enchiladas that much, but it probably just me. It's a decent place especially we were just driving by new Mexico and was lucky to find this.

Frequented by locals and a well- known figures (Photo of Laura Bush on the wall with the staff), this place has clearly established itself by providing great food and a friendly staff. "Victor", our server was quick to get us anything we asked for within seconds and remained attentive although they were obviously understaffed. Will definitely go back.
