The breakfast burritos were excellent. Portion size was perfect for a big appetite. Red and green chili was very tasty, served with pinto beans and garnish. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The environment was inviting, cheery, and very clean. We are locals of Edgewood and will make this one of our regular dining spots. Highly recommended to friends and family.

This is a three star restaurant that gave us a four star meal (after doctoring it up quite a bit). Headed east from Albuquerque, looking for a great chile relleno, worried places would be closing soon. Yelp reviews looked good here & the lot was full, so we stopped. It's a popular local joint with uneven reviews, and uneven is what we got. Very friendly server, food came quickly. Relleno batter was chewy and crunchy, chiles generous and plump, with nicely melted cheese. Enchiladas had unusually savory chicken chunks and sauce. But - both dishes were pretty under spiced, and the too-mild salsa didn't fix it. Fortunately they had really good red & green bottled habanero sauces that saved the day. So yes, service & food quality may vary at this busy place, but also yes, after table side repairs we had a fine meal.

Everything's great, just tried the bodacious burger, couldn't finish it...! Love those green chiles on it. Well worth the price.

Favorite food is the breakfast burrito and the best I ever had was at the bowling alley of Reese AFB in Lubbock, TX. This place is billed as best breakfast burrito of 50 different places in New Mexico. I ordered with green chili sausage and covered in both green and red chile sauce. Taste overall I give 4 stars but it must have been sitting a while before it was brought to our table, as it was served almost cold. Very disappointing but I have to say I'd like to try the other 49 because there has to be one better.

We went on a Sunday after church, and of course the place was packed. We were seated fairly quickly, and our server was quite friendly and quick. The food was New Mexican fare and made to order. Due to a food allergy, I have to be careful about what I order, and our server was able to answer my questions about ingredients quickly. My only complaint is a small one, my son and I ordered the relleno breakfast, and got the relleno plate instead. Our server apologized, offered to change it, but we kept them. They were very good, and would recommend this restaurant for decent local fare.

Solid breakfast. After a week traveling all over NM, we've grown accustomed to killer breakfast burritos and other New Mexican breakfast... This wasn't the best we've had, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a place this good right off the highway. Great, crispy home fries give the breakfast burrito a good texture. The tomatoes and beans on the side were only okay, but overall a solid breakfast, well worth the stop.

We stopped by here for lunch while visiting my in-laws over the holidays. I had the lighting burger and it was a nice big juicy burger patty served with all the trimmings on a nice bun that had some body to it. My wife had a steak bomb which she enjoyed a lot. The service was okay because they were distracted with getting the christmas decorations out but we got what we needed. If they're still around when I visit NM again I will have to stop by.

I have eaten here a few times and first I must say the papas are among the best I have had, but thats about it. The service is mediocre and food inconsistant. Last time I was in I ordered the indian taco, when it came it was covered in eggs which was not on the menu. over all I would not recomend eating here unless you are ordering papas

New Mexico is holding a state-wide breakfast burrito contest and in the interest of scientific fairness, my family and I are sampling all the burritos in the offering. It's for science, people! Katrinah's has received raves and we will definitely make the drive for good food! To begin with, the overall experience was marred by a party of 15-20 slap-happy teachers on the last day of school having a celebratory breakfast. I know they deserve it, I really do. I'm really not a monster. It's just that with the shape of the room and the non-padded walls, sound bounces painfully loudly and it made conversation at our table impossible. Our server was harried but polite and got our order just right. We got breakfast burritos with red and green with green chile sausage. The red chile had an interesting spice in it, cumin, maybe? I didn't care for it. Garlic, salt and maybe some Mexican oregano if you must, but it's not chili, after all. I couldn't really taste the green chile and the small piece I tried had an overly vegetable, unpleasant taste. The eggs were fresh and tasted good, as did the green chile sausage. I thought the potatoes had an unpleasant texture, as if they had been badly frozen and reheated. They were real, skin-on potatoes, though, which is always nice. The flour tortillas tasted stale. The beans were ok. Not out of a can but bland. The cheese was good; fresh and a generous amount. The water was really strange; almost as if it came out of the same place as the carbonated water and it was half still, half carbonated. Not entirely unpleasant, but odd. It wasn't bad food, but it wasn't great either. We definitely wouldn't go out of our way to eat here again, but it was clean and we were served promptly. The prices are very reasonable; about $6 per person. Go next door to the Dough Re Mi bakery and have the cupcake of the day and some good coffee instead.

I am pleasantly surprised by how good my food was at the East Mountain Grill. I'll admit, I went in thinking there is no way Edgewood will have decent food. Boy was I wrong. I got the cowboy breakfast burrito. (it has gravy on it) It was very yummy. Our waitress was kind and attentive. What else could you ask for? If your in the area try it. Support local business!

I like eating here. Really good food, nice people and great atmosphere. I'd like it more if they had turkey sausage/bacon options I their breakfast menu. I tried the Ranchero Steak and it is awesome. Excellent coffee too.

Came here with some coworkers, it wasn't half bad. I like little places like this, though, so I am a little biased. I had the ranchero steak, which is basically just a chicken fried steak covered in chile sauce and cheese. Which brings me to a point of consternation with Katrinah's: when did the chicken fried steak become a "country" fried steak? It's chicken fried steak, people, not "country" fried steak. All in all, I did like this place. It's got a good vibe going on, our server was on top of his game, and the food was pretty good. I'll be coming back, for sure.

Over the years this restaurant has had both good and bad days on our many visits. The service varies from friendly to rude and the food super tasty to would've rather stayed hungry. Because of the inconsistencies, this would be a 2 star joint except that being in Edgewood there just simply aren't many choices, thus making it a 3. The daily specials are typically a good bet for a decent meal. One hurdle is that they struggle to get the order right if you request any changes, or at least that's usually the case with salads. And if you're used to "mountain water" aka need a strainer for the minerals in it, then go ahead and order that glass of H2O, otherwise stick with something made elsewhere.

As you drive on I40 you will take the Edgewood/344 exit. May I suggest you don't. If headed east, just drive on out of NM to Texas and eat in Amarillo, its only 2.5 hours wait. If headed west, hang in there till you get to Albuquerque and go to Rudy's, or Sadie's, even McDonalds- this is only a 45 minute wait. This place has changed owners a few times, a place where I got a spoiled hamburger and the cook actually told me it was my imagination. Mine was not the only visit which ended with a door prize of Montezuma's revenge. From there it has gone from bad to worse. They keep changing the name, but nothing in the quality changes. If I could give this place a half star I would. The veggies are old and taste like they were stored in a poorly functioning cooler. The chili has little to no flavor. Green chili should have chunks of chili in the sauce- I cannot say it is so, but I suspect they use watered down chili juice from the containers, there is some warmth, but no flavor, and no chili bits. Forget the red chili- they have no idea how to make it. Dine out options are few here, and one would think the locals would keep this place hopping, that this would be cause for long waiting lines and full parking lots. This is not the case. In my opinion, and from my unfortunate encounter, it is Mostly because of the poor quality - SUMTHUN WONG when the locals aren't keeping it busy enough to stay fresh and in business.

Pretty solid diner in the mountains; I had the "famous" gyro wrap which was pretty solid. The atmosphere is pretty nice, the food came out exceptionally fast, and the server was very attentive!

Had breakfast an lunch here a few times. Food is fresh, tasty and satisfying. Husband says its delicious, well priced and good service. Great breakfast burritos, Indian tacos, wonderful burgers. Great value. We really like supporting independent, mom and pop restaurants and this has become one of our favorites!

Mark and Carol who ran this restaurant for years left this established eatery a few years ago and with them went the excellent customer service and pride in preparing good food for largely local customers . This is a hit or miss with more misses lately than ever. A recent visit found us having to make several request to get our simple sandwich order correct. The good ol' days forever gone leave us seeking alternatives to this less than mediocre restaurant. The new owner simply does not take responsibility for poorly prepared food, including lukewarm soup not heated to a safe temperature, nor for the horrible service. Inconsistent and not worthy of your dollar votes! A buyer beware warning!

I've yet to eat in, so can't rate the service as accurately. But I really enjoyed their veggie wrap. Extremely flavorful and tasty. Can't wait to stop in for a sit down meal next time!

Pretty decent for a local restaurant. We typically have to travel to Albuquerque to get a decent meal, but this place is suffice. The food is good depending on the cook. I have only had one occasion where lunch was horrible. Also do not DRINK THE WATER, whatever you do...... the WATER is not POTABLE. Unfortunately this is a major downside to the place, unless the water is boiled in tea or coffee it taste horrific. Otherwise please enjoy this second-rate eatery.

A great place to eat in Edgewood! Nothing fancy- just great food, good service at an affordable price- They serve Starbucks coffee- and also have a full coffee bar menu- They also have a few signature items like their "Morning Glory" muffin and their green chili breakfast sausage which is to die for!!! My son and I eat breakfast there every Sunday and have never had a bad meal-

Aimlessly wandering Route 66 between Moriarty and Edgewood led me somehow to this nice place in a kinda rundown strip mall near Walmart. There was plenty of tasty choices, but I needed my green chile fix - this being New Mexico. Settled on the breakfast burrito (hand-held style) and inside this baby was eggs, cheese, real homefries and chopped green chili's of course and almost forgot pinto beans too. Every bite was really a treat, sometimes you get that slight heat with the chili and other times, it was the potatoes and eggs sharing center stage. It must have been 1/2 pound and only like $4.00. I also added a $1.99 side of chips and homemade salsa and this was a great addition. The chips were not from a bag and the salsa was somewhere between mild and medium and had nice chunks of onions and fresh chopped peppers. This is obviously a locals joint and the girl at the front counter was really nice. I got lucky as I arrived about 1:45pm and they close at 2pm on Sunday. Also, some items are not available on Sunday, but if I come back, the make your own melt and the namesake Indian Taco on Fry Bread will be my next picks.

This is our favorite place for brunch/breakfast. It is a small town restaurant with very friendly servers and exceptionally good food. We have eaten at Katrinah's dozens of times. Try the Reuben (not available on Sundays - my only complaint) and get chopped green chile on it - best Reuben I know. Also, the bacon is actually crispy - a strangely rare perfection.
