The service was great, all the employees were very helpful and cheerful. For starters, you have to wait in line to place you order, so be prepared to wait. I ordered the McAlisters Club, Relaxing atmosphere.

I was in Carlsbad for business for one week. With my hotel being across from McAlister's and my meeting place also being very close, I ate lunch and dinner at McAlister's for the entire week. The food was really good and the portions were really nice and filling. By eating there, I had the choice of eating very nice salads as well as very tasty sandwiches, both cold and hot, if I felt like eating a bigger meal. And aside from the great food, the service was wonderful; everyone was really friendly and helpful and I could clearly see they really cared about the customer. I have fatal allergy to shellfish and need to be super careful eating anywhere that Shrimp is served. Every time I dined at McAlister's, I mention my allergy to the cashier and they always diligently checked it with the kitchen, despite the fact they were sure of no cross contamination happening. I am really happy the option of McAlister's was there when I visited Carlsbad, NM.

Love the food(2nd time here in less than a week) . Busy since it opened. But worth the wait to get your good. Will definitely be back. Recommend the nacho platter as a good appetizer. The service is great always checking in you to make sure everything is ok with your meal

If you are gluten free and vegetarian, this is NOT the place for you. The only items offered that I could eat were their salads and the baked potato. I don't like salad. The potato is enormous, but they are meager with the toppings of cheese and "vegetarian chili". (It's just another name for chili beans.) My friend ordered a reuben sandwich. He said it was so heavy and dense and tasted like chemicals. We tried it twice, just to see if we caught them on a bad day. It was identical both times... just as bad. The service left us feeling uncomfortable. They're not very congenial there.

Not a whole lot open on Sunday so we went here. The food is eh. The baked potato was HUGE but not a lot of toppings. The Chicken Pecan sand was as good as the one I got from Arby's at half the cost. The sweet tea was tasty but pricey. Over all a neutral experience

As a self-proclaimed Tea Freak, McAlister's Deli is easily one of my favorite lunchtime spots. I travel frequently so whenever I am on the road, seeing a McAlister's location in the distance means a welcome break from the usual fast food chains. My job sends me through Carlsbad a few times per month, so I've dined at the Carlsbad McAlister's on several occasions. What I've noticed on each visit is that this location stays busy around the clock. Not exactly a bad problem for a business to have, but it's less than ideal for the guest who is crunched for time. It doesn't matter what day of the week it is. There's going to be a long line to order and an even longer wait thereafter to receive your entree. In hopes of ditching the crowd, I've placed orders online and by call-in. When it came time to pick-up my meal I used the drive-thru lane, which is designated specifically for online and call-in orders only. Kudos for convenience! If all of the cars ahead of mine had previously ordered their meal(s) (via call-in or online) and have all arrived at their designated time to pick-up their completed order(s) then these transactions should be quick, efficient, and have this Tea Freak sipping on her McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea in no time! Right? Well, not so much. The wait for call-in and online orders was just as lengthy as just going inside. Only difference is you get to wait at home a little bit before waiting in the DT lane. It's a lose-lose situation no matter which way you order your 'wich. (See what I did there?) Moving on... The food here is what you can expect from any of the other McAlister's Deli establishments. I order the Sweet Chipotle Chicken Grilled Sandwich with a side of Macaroni & Cheese and, of course, my beloved Sweet Tea. The food always comes out hot and delicious! My meal has been on point approximately 4 out of 5 times, hence the 4 out of 5 star rating. Only complaint was from the one time they forgot to add the pickle that comes with all grilled sandwich entrees to my to-go meal. I didn't realize the missing pickle til I got home. Heartbreaking. It took some time but I've since forgiven you for the pickle mishap, McAlister's. (But you still get a 4-star rating for slow service.) All in all, it's a decent location to grab a bite to eat when you've got time to kill. And, since you're in Carlsbad and there's not much to do in this town, you might as well kill time at the local McAlister's Deli and get a good meal out of it. After all, this town wasn't named 'Carlsgood' for a reason. Basically, just don't come here when you're in a rush and everything else will be kosher.

I generally like this place, and the food was good, granted it was 9:40 P.M. but the floor was nasty and has not seen hot water or soap since the building was built. My table was disgusting yet was still damp from just being whipped down. And stuck in the moisture on the table was a baby Roach which are usually born by the hundreds at a time. The manager of this place need a few lessons in, cleanliness is next to godliness. My experience has taught me that if you're house is a dump so will thought business. This guy has never participated in an Army GI party, but needs ones at this texturally badly.

What a joke. I called while I was 20 minutes out of Carlsbad, so I could get my sandwich togo and be on my merry way through town. I called the first time, no one picked up. Then a second time, same thing. A third, still nothing! Finally on the forth call, someone picked up after 3 minutes of waiting. It still takes about 3 minutes to order after that and I finally get my order confirmed for my single sandwich, she says "that'll be 15-20 minutes". I had to cancel my order because I was ARRIVING AT THE STORE and I had tried calling 15 minutes ahead to avoid having to wait. I was highly disappointed in the lack of service and prompt attention.

Service was pretty unfriendly. Person taking our order seemed to be distracted. Plates arrived and both were obviously dirty. Presumably, they were dirty from the plating because there's no way someone would use a plate that dirty. Either way, it was quite unappealing. Food was tasty, but I had a hair in my sandwich which killed it for me.

We came here the first day they opened in Carlsbad. There were long lines but despite that the service was good and so was the food. I've been to McAllister's deli in the south before so I am also familiar with their sweet tea and it is the best. I usually get half and half, half sweet and half unsweetened. I guess my only issue was with my son's food. He got the kids nacho plate and it came with tortilla chips, nacho cheese, and a package of teddy Grahams and no vegetables. Some lettuce, tomatoes and avocado would have been nice, I think. Also maybe a gluten free option instead of the Teddy Grahams for the kids would be nice too b/c my son is gluten intolerant. Other than that, we liked it. It's nice to finally have some more variety in restaurants here b/c this area has been seriously lacking for so long!

The service was great, all the employees were very helpful and cheerful. For starters, you have to wait in line to place you order, so be prepared to wait. I ordered the McAlisters Club, Relaxing atmosphere.

Food was fantastic at a great price. They have a full ranged menu from healthy offerings to not so healthy. Service was friendly and we appreciated them being open until 9 on weekdays (many Carlesbad restaurants close early for some reason). Would definitely recommend!
