I have been coming to Carlsbad to work for 16 years. I work here at least 3 weeks every month and I eat here at least once a week. I have a habit of eating the same thing all the time but that's a good thing because I love the burger and tots. Great tasting burger, it's always been great. Try it you will like it.

Very poorly designed venue creates difficult situation for service to be on par with the better burger shacks. The drive thru window is a dangerous traffic hazard. Outdoor seating is their best asset. The food is average. The smell of cigarette smoke on the staff working that day was stronger than the smell of anything cooking on the grille.

Ok burgers... fries were not fresh...the green chili burger was lack luster. Kinda pricey. No restrooms...outdoor seating area was nice hence the three stars.

WHAT A GREAT FIND! Just driving through when we found this place to get a bite on the road. We were driving from California on a road trip two yeas ago and I still remember this place and how awesome it was. Green Chile Burger and a Cherry Lime Ice was the perfect meal. We were so happy!

I was in carlsbad this Saturday for work and stopped by for a bacon cheeseburger. I stood at the window for over 5 minutes waiting just to take my order but that's not where it all goes bad. I was standing fow a when waiting for said cheeseburger when they called my name. The woman who was on the phone and handling money with no gloves handed me my bag and then someone said "wait that is not supposed to be a double" so she took my bag, took out my cheeseburger with her bare unwashed hands an took a patty off and put it on someone else's burger and closed mine up and tried to give it back. Needless to say I did not eat it nor will ever return. They all need to learn how to handle food.

Best burgers in town, by far. Very good breakfast bacon, egg, cheese croissant. So far the food I've eaten here is very good. Good food, good people.

FYI drive thru or eat outside on picnic tables. Onion rings are good but it's a lot.we ordered a lot more food then we needed .I ordered tots too they were nice crunch outside...burgers are hand pressed the REAL stuff (not that BK or McDonalds where your not sure if it's beef) burger only came with mustard on it, so you may want to ask to have mayo and catsup put on it, also the burger bun had a great toast to it..The beef taco was good but very greasy. This place reminded me of a place you would eat at in the 50s or 60s not that I would know but what I assume they would be back then..

Church street grill has become a family tradition for one item on their menu, the Vanilla Coke Cream. My wive and I first visited Carlsbad together over 20 years ago. She had some relatives that lived here and they introduced us to this place. What I love about Church Street Grill is the ice. The ice that they put in their drinks is great. It is kind of like crushed ice, but it does not melt like crushed ice. The vanilla coke cream is basically a coke with a shot of vanilla flavoring and then a scoop of ice cream. The trick is to mix the ice cream up with the ice. The flavors are just great. I also ordered a Cherry Lime ice this time too and was impressed with it as well. Some day I just need to order the full meal deal here with a Green Chile Cheeseburger and everything. There is no indoor seating here, but there is plenty of picnic tables in a little designated area. A lot of the business is done through the drive through so the parking lot can be a little hectic and congested. I think that we will be stopping at Church Street Grill any time that we are in Carlsbad in the future.

Some of the greasiest tacos I have ever had but defiantly worth it. Great burgers as well.

Green Chili Cheeseburger was very good, but I was expecting more green chili flavor. Fries and tots were nice and crisp, just like I like them. Overall, good food for the price, but nothing to write home about.

They didn't know what kind of tacos their tacos were. I asked, "are these tacos flour or corn?" They replied confused, "they're fried..." Hoping for the best I finally gave in. They were mostly corn with a side of grease. My partner ordered the Philly steak which was "really good. It was small but I felt like I ate a real one. The cheese was thick like Elmer's glue in a good way". They weren't the best tacos and their drive thru is kind of weird...

The best take out hamburger ever! The onion rings are to die for! Shakes are a must! This place can do no wrong with their food!!! Parking is not fun, but I always park at the gas station next door or do the drive through. I would order before I got there so you don't have to wait around in the heat. There are tables though if you want to eat out there.

Ok because of the previous review I had to try the cherry lime ice and the cherry lime mist. While waiting on my burger I delved into the ice..let me warn other cherry lime ice virgins, mix it up don't just eat off the top or you'll get a mouth full of fresh lime. Its like a cherry snow cone with fresh squeezed lime in top, its yummy. For my first ever guacamole burger experience, it was great and the cherry lime mist drink good too. If your up for a diner, dive and drive in experience you should stop here. In fact I had to return for another mist and this time tried the choc milk shake too..going all out here!

Church Street Grill has come to be one of our favorite restaurants in town. They cook out of a little building on a lot with picnic seating if you desire to eat there. The burgers are huge and packed with all the good stuff. They changed their fries from what they used to be, but are still great. The taquitos are also good...home made and come with cheese dipping sauce. All the drinks are very cheap and include free cherry/vanilla if you desire. If you are looking for a good burger at lunch or dinner, this is the spot.

Cherry Lime ice!! One of the best burgers to be had in the southwest as well, and we found it by happy circumstance. Green chile cheeseburger was fantastic
(4)Annette G.
The food issss a liiiitle greasy I'll admit. The green chili cheeseburger was my favorite back when I was a meat eater. I used to go almost on a daily basis to get a coke. The ice is great! Better than Sonic. Who ever thought you'd crave ice! Vanilla Cream Coke was my treat! Call ahead if you're getting food and expect to wait anyway. Drive up is always busy and parking is hectic.
