Very friendly service, great venue, good food. A bit pricey, but I'll be back. Do try the beans and the coleslaw!

I'm not gonna lie I loved it. I'm from Texas and this place holds its own in the lone star state. The prices were reasonable and tasted fantastic. You need to use the automated hand washer too. That thing is so cool. I'm not trying to over-review this place, but I don't know how it doesn't have more 5-star reviews.

To name your establishment Serious anything is to arouse comparisons. To throw TX into said name is to aggressively invite them. We did the drive-thru. I sensed some hesitation on the worker in the window when she noticed the TX plates on our car. We ordered brisket and pulled pork and ate it in the car - not my favorite way to sample BBQ but we had a long way to go to get back to TX. Brisket - had a good smoke ring on both sides. Was on the drier side with the fat not completely rendered out. Rub didn't really stand out and had little texture. Pulled pork - was moist but without much additional flavor. Overall it was a decent attempt at TX BBQ and for being outside of TX it probably deserves another star.

Not sure a place that boasts an OU flag is Serious Texas BBQ. Ha! The pulled pork sandwich and the cherry salsa were good. My husband had the sausage sandwich and said it was good too. There was great country music playing, if you like that sort of thing. When the offerings are chain restaurants and numerous Mexican food joints, this was a refreshing option.

Good BBq. Recommend the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Baked Potato with Pulled Pork. Cobbler is solid as well. Great choice over standard burger joints and chains.

Driving through green chili country, we were hesitant to eat BBQ. Historically, other than Rudy's and the Whole Hog Cafe finding good BBQ has been a challenge in a state when New Mexican style food rules. Meanwhile, after three days of New Mexican food our gut needed some relief. We hesitantly walked into Serious Texas BBQ and were shocked at how good the food was. It's a laid back, walk up and order at the counter kind of place. Don't get me wrong, this isn't the best BBQ you'll ever have. On the other hand, it's way above average and I can't imagine anyone complaining about anything on the menu here. The meats taste great, are priced well, service is above average and they have real sweet tea. Between three of us, we weren't hungry enough to try all their meats: pulled pork, smoked sausage, brisket, turkey and pork ribs. The only thing holding this place back from reaching five stars is the meats were little dry. And, yes, I know my BBQ. I've been to hundreds of the country's top BBQ places over the last decade. Their sides are average. As far as texture and flavor, the smoked sausage here is off the charts. The pork ribs were surprisingly tender and the meat fell right off the bone. The turkey isn't as a good as Rudy's, but close. The brisket is lean an tender and the pulled pork is at par with most. As for the sauce, all the meats come dry and there's a bottle of vinegar based sauce on the table. They do offer small containers of specialty sauces, a mustard, thousand island chipotle and cranberry based. They're different, but good. Even though we went big in order to taste all their meats (1 pound of each!) we found a way to shovel dessert into our mouth's too. The pecan pie is homemade and worth a slice. The apple cobbler is delicious. Looks identical to what Rudy's offers. Hands down, we'd come back. And, if you're in Northern New Mexico and enjoy BBQ, you'll be impressed with the meats here. It's a great place for all parties, young and old, big and small (and even has a drive through).

What a nice find in a city (Bloomfield, NM) that apparently is bereft of other really good dining choices. Don't let the 3stars fool you, that means above average. When comparing bar b que joints, ain't nothing wrong with being above avg and some items were exceptional. Wife's meal, pulled pork sandwich. Very good, tender meat, slightly jiuicy, no fat (Yay!!) or other nasties. My brisket stuffed potato was good. Brisket was a tad dry but on the plus side, it was tender, no nasties, and had good flavor. Potato its own self was only warm and had that, steamed in foil texture to it. Good fillings tho. I'd opt for the brisket samwich next time. Meal highlights were the Lemon/Buttermilk Chess pie I had and Kathy's Pecan Pie (both made in house by the lovely lady behind the counter). Hard to say which was better, let's just say both were killer good and I'd unhesitatingly serve em to special friends at home. 3.5 stars, solid.

Brought grandkids here after long ride from Albuquerque. A total hit! Excellent food (we had pulled pork, brisket, ribs) but only white sandwich bread on combo. Sesame seed bun available on official sandwiches. Fun environment and super hand washer machine. Great sauce. Very "down home" and reasonably priced.

Best BBQ. Period. Pulled pork sandwiches are awesome. Fresh cobbler. Hand cut meats cooked on site. If you walk away hungry it's your own fault.

As a rule, I don't eat BBQ when outside the lone star state: I've found it leads to nothing but disappointment, However, this place is the exception to the rule so I feel obligated to leave a review considering how skeptical I was. They go through some trouble to cook it right: nicely smoked, moist, and good red searing around the outside of the brisket. Their sauce matches the meat with a good compliment. It seemed a little pricey, $13 for sandwich, potato salad, and drink....but the sandwich was a big handful of meat. As much as you'd expect in a dinner plate.
