Disappointed after so many great reviews. For a "breakfast and brunch" place that closes at 2 PM, it seems strange that they stop serving breakfast at 11... disappointing. I wanted to try a brisket omelette, but my son and I had burgers instead. The service was great: not overwhelming but never waited too long either. The food wasn't quite what we hoped for, though. Fries were not seasoned or salted as far as we could tell, and some were not fully cooked. Burgers were tasty but not especially memorable. The radio was tuned to a station they couldn't fully reach, so half the time or was playing static: not awesome ambience. The Texas Chili Cheeseburger was okay, but the "Chaos Thang" my son had was better. (Yes, I steal from my son's plate, but I do it for science!)

After a 13-hr night shift this comfort food not only hit the spot but also put a smile on my face. Service was prompt, fast, and attentive. I had the Macha (no. 1 on the omelette menu) with a side of hash browns. The Macha was as explosion of NM-Mex flavors topped with brisket. The omelette was stuffed with veggies and gooey cheese. The side of salsa tasted fresh, but the side of frijoles (beans) was on the bland side. I ate everything on my plate. If it was socially acceptable I would have licked my plate. The hash browns were made perfect. It was a good balance of crispy and well cooked potatoes. If you get this as a side in comes in a small plate - light weight eaters, you have been warned. This place is a keeper.

This is my new favorite food place in Artesia, NM. After being stuck eating breakfast everyday at FLETC I was so happy to find this place when someone else reccomended it. I had the short stack of pancakes with a side of bacon. I was soooo happy to know that they followed my instructions for preparing my bacon. I normally like it fried really hard, not burnt. Most places can't seem to get it right. The bacon tasted fresh, and my pancakes (short stack has 2) were delicious and huge. There were about 9 poeple in our party so the food took a little while to get to us, but they took our orders and had our drinks ready in no time. I will definately be back here. The price is just as awesome as the food.

We were driving across country and needed a good breakfast to go to get us going. We stopped at Chaos Cafe and then quickly made us some delicious breakfast burritos for the road - great food and great service!

It was just ok. They charge 2.75 for a can of soda so that was a shock. I had an omelet. It was good. Not great. But the service is very friendly and I thought fast. My husband had chicken fried steak and he said he's given it a 3 out of 5

The server took forever, forgot things we asked for, and then brought the wrong items/drinks. We were there for breakfast and the food was enjoyable. Just don't come hangry.

I found this place through yelp. I was in Artesia picking up some slab bolsters from Just For Concrete. I had to get back to work. But that was another 1hour and 45 mins away. So I needed to eat here. I looked up breakfast, and Chaos Cafe came up. I believe 2nd. But i was just around the corner from it. I drove in to the parking lot and read the reviews. Lots of great reviews. I decided to go in. The Place is all wood. Very home like feeling. They have a few signs of people in the military up. Which to me should automatically get an extra star for that. I was sat right away. I sat near some older men. I want to call them the in crowd. These men look like they come here often and maybe have been coming here for a long time. I could here them reminiscing about their younger days. I love when old people get together. They have great stories. I was going to get it to go. But since I had just sat down and I could here this man telling a story , I decided to stay. I chose an omelet with 3 eggs, cheese, sausage and brisket. I could hear an old man taking about it. He kept saying to another man you need to get it with the brisket. So I went with it. I added the brisket. It came with hash browns and a pancake. I could have chosen toast or a biscuit But my sweet tooth Kicked in. I also ordered an oj. My oj and water came out fast. I wasn't very keen about the oj. It was a concentrate oj. It didn't taste good to me. Thick and it had a bitter taste to it. Not a fan of concentrated juices. It didn't take long for my meal to come out. I almost didn't take a pic. The omelet was made nice and thick. It had lots of sausage and brisket in it. The cheese was falling off and starting to melt. Half my plate had hash browns. They were a nice brown color. A bit crispy on top. They brought another plate with my pancake. They had a small cup of butter and a small cup of hot syrup. Oh I love hot syrup. Both of my plates steaming with goodness. I dug into the omelet first. I needed to know if he old man was correct. He was. It did last better with it. I had never had it that way and I plan to do that again. The hash browns tasted really good. A great pairing with the omelet. It was a nice size meal. You best come hungry to finish here. I still had my pancake. It was fluffy and great by itself. Since I had the hot syrup, i coated it. Over all a great meal the service was great. I see why people like this place. I'll be come here again if I'm near by.

Went here since another local establishment was closed. Food was decent but pretty bland, service was good, didn't wait too long to get our food. Prices seemed slightly higher than they should be for the amount of food we received

A great spot for lunch or breakfast in Artesia. Service was friendly and quick. Food was excellent with some healthier options. Chicken was cooked well and still moist. Brisket was impressive. Great prices and atmosphere. Hard to beat.

My family recently took a trip to Carlsbad Caverns and stayed in Artesia. We wanted, if possible, to eat at local restaurants and found Chaos Cafe. The breakfast was awesome. My husband and I share two dishes, an omelet and the blueberry pancakes. Both were fantastic. Our sons had the short stack of pancake, and they were so big, they could only finish one. French toast was amazing too! Needless to say, we had breakfast there every day of our trip because the food was so good.

So far I've been here for more than 10mn waiting on my chopped Brisket lunch. I meant to go next door to the Pecos Diamond Steakhouse but it seemed closed, and this cafe shares a parking lot with it... It looked busy, so in I went... Anyway, the food was fine. The brisket was tender and well seasoned, the french fries were alright, the beans were tasteless compared to the brisket, and the Texas Toast tasted funny... The staff was prompt and nice enough, the order just took a little while to show up. The ambiance is very relaxed and looks like a favorite lunch spot.

My favorite place to eat breakfast in Artesia is Chaos Cafe. If you do stop by for breakfast try the brisket and eggs. But you can't go wrong whatever you get. I can still remember the first pancake I ate at Chaos. It was that good! They have good lunch as well but don't wait to long they close at 2:00.

Yummy food here right on the hwy. the chaos open face chili brisket is really good and tasty. Lots and lots of fresh food. Friendly service. Grilled chicken sandwich is large too and very good. Stop on by.
