Very friendly atmosphere, excellent service and of course the food was as great as it looked. I had breakfast enchiladas. The eggs were cooked perfecly and the red chile was exactly the way i like it. It even came with calabacitas which was also cooked perfectly, not overcooked and mushy. To top it off, Tim the owner is a great guy and came by our table several times to see how we were doing and to give free hugs. A wonderful experience, I highly recommend!

Breakfast and Lunch coffee shop. Standard New Mexican cuisine. Good food and very friendly service.

Great food, friendly servers, and Tim is there 6 days a week working his ass off. Go support this amazing place!!!

I was not impressed by the restaurant decor at all. It looked empty. The service was friendly and quick, but the food was not good. I had the chicken caesar salad and my husband had the swiss melt. The chicken on both items was dry and looked like it had been possibly boiled before they put it on a grill. So, this food was probably just cooked earlier and then reheated when ordered. I only had one bite of the chicken and that was enough. My husband got fries with his melt and they were not seasoned at all (not even salt). We will definitely not be going back here.

While this was not the place I anticipated to have lunch, I'm glad I did. This place has a very friendly atmosphere, the service is good, and the food tasted great. The place only serves breakfast and lunch. Nothing fancy, but everything came out just as it should. I had the Grilled cheese and sweet potato fries. The sandwich was cooked just right, not over done and it wasn't greasy at all. The sweet potato fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. This was a nice change from the several other places I have gotten sweet potato fries and they were all mushy and seemed to not be cooked completely. My fiance had the swiss, chicken, and mushroom sandwich. They happily accommodated his dairy allergy and toasted the bread instead of grilling it with butter. The sandwich was cooked to perfection. The chicken was moist and flavorful with plenty of mushrooms. No skimping on the toppings here. The regular fries were crisp but not burnt, not heavily salted, and (most importantly) not greasy at all. The prices are comparable to an Applebee's or Chili's so not out of line for other similar fare. We will definitely be back and I'll be trying breakfast next time. The place is moderately sized with plenty of space between tables. You don't have to worry about bumping elbows with the table next to you. There is also a section that was set up with a long table that looked like it could accommodate about 10-14 people.

What a great place with uplifting atmosphere! The New Mexican Burger (green chili cheeseburger in toasted brioche bun) was excellent with an abundance of chopped green chili. The sweet potato fries with jalapeño-ranch dipping sauce is the only way to go! Tim obviously enjoys visiting with his customers freely giving out hugs. Today a group of special needs middle school kids were there for lunch and Tim gave them all a tour of his restaurant including the kitchen. Then he announced to everyone they were there and said "give it up for the middle school kids!" and everyone cheered and applauded. What a great place!

There is all the warm-fuzzy stuff about Tim which makes for a wonderful story. Now, about the restaurant: All in all, the food was okay for the price but there was nothing too wild about it. I'd probably give it 3 to 3.5 stars. My omelette with red chile was decent. No complimentary wi-fi. During our breakfast, Tim was around and he mainly stayed at one table where he was eating with friends/family. He did stand up and make a boisterous announcement to the whole restaurant about something which was a little odd, but you know... you just gotta go with the flow at Tim's Place. It's a different experience for sure. I say, go. :)

Tim's Place is a great local restaurant! I am always on the lookout for good local places, and this one is special because it is Tim's Place. It doesn't matter if you don't know who Tim is, because he'll treat you like family from the moment you walk in the door. I had the pancakes with a side of bacon, and my wife had the Mountain with Xmas (that's both green and red chile for you non-New-Mexicans). The pancakes had a sweet cream and vanilla taste. The Mountain is a pile of potatoes with bell peppers, onions, tomatoes. My wife had bacon, but you can put ham or sausage on it. The red and green represented well, and the potatoes were good. We plan to come back someday for lunch!

Service is okay. The food was nothing special. A bit too blah for my taste. Portion size was fine, but way over priced for what you get. Something is different from when they first opened. Staff is not as friendly and service is rushed. I was not impressed Tim. Get back to your roots and get back to managing your restaurant the way you did when first started out.

This place has new management that changed the menu drastically. You can find basic breakfast items but lost many of the unique things they had before. Prices have jumped also I saw most items priced at $9-10. Overall food was still good staff was polite as ever, but I won't be seeing myself eating there unless they bring back the old menu.

I had reviewed this place about a year ago and wasn't real impressed with it. Too many menu items and the red chile was unfortunately that yucky brown gook made with chile powder, oil, and flour. Yuck. But now, WOW!!! I decided to stop in one day because I was in the area and noticed the new menu right away and talked to the much friendlier staff about my previous experience. Tim has hired a new GM who is also a chef and does some of the cooking. He makes "real" red chile from the pods like I do! Today I met my daughter there for lunch and we both had a build your own burger with a side of red chile. Better than ketchup! And we got a side salad instead of fries. It was so wonderful that we fought over the leftover chile! I eat here at least once a week if not for breakfast then for lunch. I just wish he was open for dinner. I highly recommend Tim's Place. Oh, and they actually know how to cook poached eggs the way I like them!

I'll start with this: this restaurant is a giant vanity project. Tim is nice enough and I'm sure there are some people that have an enhanced experience when they eat here cause they feel they're contributing to a nice person with a cool story. Personally, when I go to eat I just want to have breakfast, pay, and leave. Again I emphasize, Tim is nice but aside from my order being taken or food being delivered, I don't want to be bothered while I eat. There is a lot of distraction, making loud dining room announcements, and stopping at tables to make conversation while we eat. Some people enjoy this experience, not for me. Food is pretty good. I thought the portions were a pretty good size and sometimes I just want to have a breakfast that isn't slathered in cheese, shredded lettuce, and green chile. This place gets some eggs, and biscuits or omelettes right. The waiters and waitresses are also pretty good from my experience, very friendly. I've been here a few times, will go back but, it's not always my first choice. Hope this helps.

Seriously, do yourself a favor and make the effort to stop here for a meal. One of our most fun breakfasts, ever! The food is great--outstanding breakfast enchiladas--reasonably priced, outstanding service. AND, every meal is served with a hug!! Tim (the owner) is there to make all of his guests feel a little happier, a little more loved, and is sure to brighten your day.

Good food and good service. I really enjoying visiting this restaurant. Our waiter was super nice and my breakfast was great. You and really tell that Tim and his family take pride in their restaurant. I had the breakfast burrito, and would've eaten another one if I hadn't been so full.

Tim's story is very inspirational- he is fun and brings a light to the store. However- this is a review on service and food quality. I wish there were several areas to rate because as a store, setting, friendly staff, cleanliness and overall atmosphere- I would give 4 stars. However- staff seemed very confused at times, took nearly 20 minutes to get our drinks and only served about 3-4 of us at a time with about 5 minutes in between orders coming out (we were a group of about 15) and though it was a larger group it seemed as though they could only handle a few at a time. But they were very friendly about any slow service and mistakes. The food was another story however. The scrambled eggs seemed as though they were of the powder/pour type. Though I must seriously applaud them on the over medium- PERFECT- yolk was gel consistency and the white was slightly toasted on the edges- PERFECT! !!! I had the Carne Adovada enchilada. The red chili was tasty and the flavors were all there. The meat itself though was slightly dry but not bad. The pinto beans were lacking salt, but the potatoes were seasoned great. I got french toast for my daughter and it was lacking; a bit soggy. My wife had the huevos rancheros; she had similar complaints. Overall I was comfortable in the store and would love to return without a large group to see how they perform on a more individual basis. The experience wad fun and memorable thanks to Tim and his colorful character. I would definitely recommend for a fun experience- but would suggest against going in a large group.

Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to like this place. I actually got a bit teary-eyed reading Tim's story on the menu. He is truly an inspiration. With that said, our food was extremely mediocre, and i have definitely had much better brunches elsewhere in Albuquerque. I ordered the huevos rancheros and almost every component of my dish was cold, not even lukewarm. There was also hardly any flavor to it. The one thing we ordered that I did like was the cinnamon roll. It's too bad the food is not very good because Tim's Place has a great story and very nice and friendly servers.

Truly inspirational that Tim runs this successful place. It's a corner joint in a strip mall and its Huge inside! Everything from the color and type of flooring to the tables and chairs? to the decorations and wall colors to the way the place is set up is in my seasoned opinion Spot On Excellent. Nice touch matching the far wall color with the table tops! Tim greeted me with a handshake and I asked and relieved a hug (a personal goal) introduced me to the host who seated me with a great view of the snow covered hills. My server the. Came out and brought me a robust cup of coffee and a tall glass of water. The most pleasant and happy servers especially for a Sunday morning! Given time to go over the menu I went for the chili cheese grits bowl. A fluffy biscuit bisected covered in 2 perfectly cooked sunny sides then smothered in green chili grits and covered in grated cheddar and Jack accompanied by home fries. The food was adequate not bad even seemingly very well made and healthy. The potatoes seemed to be industrial frozen like you get at the hotel breakfast buffets. My portion was ample but I was looking for a bit more flavor boost. Forgoing he potatoes as a garnish in my case I tried to season my breakfast with some salt and pepper which helped. Adding a little too much Tobasco killed the decent breakfast they brought to my table. No worries I ate it anyway. This is a great place in my opinion. The locals can get a decent meal at a fair price enjoy happy pleasant surroundings and support a thriving local business that employs at least 20 or 30 staff members. Tim is a cool owner, meeting him and sharing good conversation was neat I asked him other than his place where he likes to go he said Sadie's (man vs food) so I may visit that place too. When I told Tim about my food travels and that I liked his place I got a true response of gratitude the. An "Oh Yeah"! And a high five! FoodDude!

This place is absolutely amazing. I was able to meet Tim the other day going to his establishment after hearing so much positive things about him. He is an amazing, caring person who is doing amazing in life and not letting anything stand in his way. I had the mountain breakfast and it was absolutely amazing. The staff was also very amazing and accommodating Highly recommended for lots of reasons!

The hug counter was at 58010 when i was there. I had the Olympic breakfast and i couldn't put it all away. As for the so called friendly staff, its 100 % true, attentive never letting my drink get cold or empty. Tim was walking around greeting everyone like a good owner should. It means allot to people. I eat out alot due to my job and this is definitely a new spot.

I'll be honest the food really surprise me at this place. I figured most people come to this place for reasons other than food like the awesome atmosphere and the great people which they definitely had. But to my surprise they served an exceptional breakfast. * love there green sauce* :)

Every employee here is so nice! I've never encountered nicer employees, ever! The food is good and the prices are very fair. I loved my pumpkin pancake and the bacon is crispy and perfectly cooked. We were all thrilled to meet Tim and enjoy some time in this fun restaurant! Definitely stop by here on your travels.

This place is great. I have seen Tim and his restaurant on TV, but didn't realize it was in New Mexico until my mom suggested we eat there. As soon as we walked in Tim greeted us at the door with a smile and a hug. While we were waiting on our food, Tim came to our table and asked if my fiancé was my girlfriend. After I told him we were getting married in November, he immediately made an announcement to the entire restaurant that we were engaged and the whole place cheered for us. Our food came out quickly and was fresh off the stove. It was all wonderful. It was an incredible dining experience with our incredible new friend, Tim. OH YEAH!

Great. I had Tims pancakes and the blueberries and bananas were awesome! I would also highly recommend the breakfast enchiladas with eggs, I love the Calabacitas, and green chili. The whole experience is been great and a lot of fun too :-)

I wanted to like this one so much more than I ended up liking it. Green chile cheese grits are very clearly not made with local chile, and it was definitely frozen prior to being served to me and I just find that appalling in the height of chile roasting season. The pumkpin pancakes were decent, I definitely approve of the bacon, and the large selection of creamer available for coffee made me happy. But the thing that really brought this down was the service. We were taken care of by 4 different people, but none of them seemed to be able to give me my bill when I wanted it, and after finding out which server was capable of bringing us our bill, he deliberately ignored us several times as we tried to get it from him. Definitely frustrating, but I would go back and try again if only for the glorious bacon.

My family & I live really close to this restaurant, in fact, we walk to it when we go. We have had lunch & breakfast and they are both really tasty. The blue corn pancakes were really good and so were the regular pancakes. The lunch menu was also really good, and each item on the menu is affordable and a good value. We will definitely continue going here.

  • Michael C.

Very clean environment. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. A very comfortable place for lunch. The food is very good. For us the drawback is the new menu. Very limited compared to previous selections and some of the variety of selections we took people there for are gone. We will certainly continue to lunch there, but less frequently. Now more just a place for lunch vs. a place we frequented for the neat variety offered. However, we wish to emphasize a nice place and the now limited variety of selections is still very well prepared good food.

So after all of the reviews we had read we decided to visit Tim's Place for breakfast . Tim is so chipper all the time even @ 7am. The menu looked amazing and the breakfast was awesome. The bacon was not burnt but crispy and my Belgium waffles had all of the fruit toppings that I could ask for. I did noticed that they have a blue corn pancake and I got a taste of that and it's amazing! Love the food and atmosphere! Glad that there's a pace like this in ABQ!

Busy place on a Sunday morning, but they found a table for us outside. It was a nice day, and fears that the wait staff would forget about us proved to be unfounded. Excellent breakfast, well prepared, good coffee, friendly attentive help....what's not to like? Only one complaint: bathrooms were inadequate for a restaurant this size, something that the staff acknowledged. May be they can work something out with their landlord. But don't let the restroom line keep you away. Its a great place, even if the boss wasn't there to give us a hug.

Ate here again a couple of weekends ago after a group run on a Saturday morning. I thought the place would be packed at 9:30 am, but it wasn't. Our large group sat in two groups--the staff was great about moving tables together. Okay, so don't judge: I had just run 10 miles and when you run that far, or farther, and you stink like we all did, you don't care what people think of what you are eating for breakfast. Because I had so enjoyed it last time, I ordered the reuben and salad again and, again, it was great. One of my buddies had a burger for breakfast, so I wasn't the only weirdo. The sandwich is large and again, I took half of it home and ate it for lunch a couple of days later. What can I say? This place is good. I certainly need to branch out and try something else. Let me give a good tip: the Mountain breakfast (or whatever it is called) is a pile of home fries with eggs and maybe some sort of breakfast meat (ham? sausage? Not sure, I didn't order it), and lots of green chile sauce. People in my group paired and split an order for each pair and it was still a ton of food for each person. The cooks put them on separate plates for every individual and it looked like a full meal for each one. I think it costs around $9-10, but split between two, it is more than worth it. I'll be doing that with my daughter next time we go for breakfast. Yet again, Mr. Tim was not there.

Let me begin this with a shout-out: Goooooooooo Greyhounds! I just learned that Tim's stellar story includes an education at ENMU, where I spent my freshman year of college. Now that I've spoken to the guy in person, I can understand how he probably fit in perfectly on that campus. It's really small, interconnected, and if you're a people person you'll know the entire student body within a few months. Tim's a people person, thus I'm guessing he's valued alumni. He has an affect on people. His smile made my day just a little bit brighter. I don't have much to report on this place (imagine!) because it's very straight-forward. American cafe eats with typical New Mexican twists, salads and sandwiches and soups, crowd-pleasers. My chef salad was nice and very fresh, good blue cheese dressing, and my companion liked the chicken ceasar. We shared red chile dusted onion rings, good stuff, with green chile ranch dressing - again, nice twist. The dining area is bright and spacious, a kind of arena where Tim wanders from guest to guest. The supporting cast is just as friendly, devoted and connected to the purpose of this restaurant, and that makes the entire experience feel like more than just lunch. Invest in great people, and support an Albuquerque gem.

There are a few reasons to come to Tim's Place. First, the food: it is delicious. I like almost all the menu items, and their breakfast selections are great. Also, great sandwiches. Second: it's a local business. As much as you might enjoy Denny's or IHOP, try to spread some love to local places that aren't chains. It's good for the economy. Also, did I mention the food is good here? Lastly, Tim. Tim is an inspirational story, but you don't have to feel guilty that you're just eating here because of him. The food is good, the service is outstanding, and he's just the icing on the proverbial cake.

Great portions, friendly staff, and the right price. We enjoyed the heuvros ranchero, breakfast enchiladas, beligum waffle breakfast, and the mountain breakfast. Potatoes were well seasoned and not to many of them. We also really like the chili amount in the various dishes. Lastly the mix of blueberries, banana, and syrup was perfect for our youngest.

Loved this place! The food was fantastic! Every trip we take through Albuquerque we will always be styling here! The waiters and waitresses were friendly and our drinks never went empty! I had the cheeseburger and it was so tasty. I can't wait to come back! And I got my hug :-)

Visited Tim's Place on the weekday. Very friendly and inviting atmosphere. Staff is super attentive and polite. I got the blue corn pancakes and the chile cheese grits. Both were amazing, just enough cheese on the grits, and the blue corn pancakes was something new for me and tasted really good. Tim was at the door to give us a hug which was the best part of the meal! Will definitely visit again!!

My sister and I went here during the Balloon Festival. I LOVE everything about this place. The host was so sweet and hard-working. Tim was there and socializing with everyone in the restaurant. Our server couldn't have been nicer. The motto is "The Friendliest Restaurant." This is no joke! I had the breakfast enchiladas and my sister had the happy little breakfast and it was awesome! I love everything about this restaurant. Everyone in there was having a great time! I love supporting local business and I'd be happy to support this place any day of the week!

Very nice friendly restaurant/café. The owner Tim came by my table and said hello. Prices, service, food, was very good. If you're a coffee drinker or it's on the weak side but still very good. I also had one of their cinnamon rolls and it was oh so good.

This place is amazing. The food is good but the feelings are what make it special. Tim was there and he was just as kind as expected. The rest of the family was there as well. Tim's brother was training a new waitress and I was with my mother and grandmother. My grandmother starts crying, then mom, then me. I had not clue why we were crying but it turns out it was just a happy cry. The servers were sweet and fun about it. I had the breakfast burrito. It was hearty and filling. A must visit!

Solid menu, great service, and did i mention free hugs? what's the expected value of that? mastercard perhaps? between a table of many, we had the Green Chile Cheese Grits bowl (mouthful to say, mouthful to eat!), Supreme Omelette, the Olympian (NOT eaten by an olympian, btw), the Texas burger w/ green chile added, Breakfast burrito, and the Belgian Waffle. Everything save for the burrito were tops, the burrito gets 4 stars, but not enough to kill the average of the other meals. btw, the green chile is true chile, none of this sissy "visitor chile" crapola! basically Goldilocks chile, *almost* too spicy, but not quite enough to burn my mouth....yep, perfect on a burger when combined with jack, cheddar, and bacon (did someone say "bibbity boppity bacon!"???) Service was prompt and attentive, though sadly Tim was taking a well deserved day off, so we had to have the stand in deliver our hugs (they're free, can you believe that?). The kids requested extra hugs, those were also free. all in all, it didn't break the bank, made our stomachs happy, and supported a small business owner that I think everyone loves in this town. Go, eat, and be merry~ Thanks Tim!

Good food, happy place, but nothing special, and seemed a bit pricier than what places should be in Albuquerque. You won't regret coming here, but you can find better food.

Tim, where do you get your green tomatos for your fried green tomatos? The breading was tasty. The sauce was tasty. The hug was very good. Only one complaint: no on-site tshirt sales. You can buy shirts over the internet but you can't get a hug.

We went there on a weekday morning around 9:30. I don't know if we hit the lull after the big rush and every server was on break, but the service was simply not acceptable. If you have to wait 10 min for a coffee refill (after asking for it) at a breakfast place with three tables occupied, that's not recommendable. The food was good, would have given it four stars. Bill came to $25, on the upper end of the scale for breakfast food in Albuquerque.

Great food and a real reason to smile. The hugs and the attitude of everyone there is good for the soul. If you're ever having a low day, just go to Tim's and you'll leave feeling better. Excellent place to feed the family.

Wanted to make a point of checking this place out on a trip to ABQ after seeing Tim's story on CBS Sunday Morning on Father's Day. Finally did it before flying out this morning. The food was very good with great portions. I had an omelet that had bacon, ham, sausage, guacamole, and sour cream with home fries, fruit and toast. I got the 9 grain bread which was fantastic. Tim is of course extremely friendly just like the show made clear. The rest of the staff was also friendly and helpful. Just an altogether well-run business and great food. What's not to like?

Are here for brunch with friends. We got right in at about 11am on a Sunday. I enjoyed the range of food selections. I ordered the avocado walnut salad and a bowl of green chili(since this is Albuquerque). Both were very good. We got to meet Tim and he was very nice to my friend who is getting married.

Good. Nice little place. My family all had grilled ham and cheese with various sides. Fries were just fries but the sweet potato fries were the best I've had in a long time. I had the blue corn enchiladas - very good! The calabesitas on the side were a touch aldente though. I'd come back again and try the breakfasts.

Great place, super friendly and attentive. Breakfast "Carne omelette" was great for me. the chile con queso it was smothered in was awesome. My wife's "happy breakfast" was very happy, but she felt it a little over processed and preprepared. Who knows?! All in all it was a nice place to try and we'd go back to give the lunch menu a try.

We planned our trip from Tx to the Grand Canyon to ensure lunch at Tim's Place. So glad we did. The food was excellent, our waiter Kevin was top notch and Tim came in on his day off to give our group of 8 hugs and take pictures. I would HIGHLY recommend Tim's Place to everyone passing through Albuquerque.

Read about Tim's in the paper a while ago. I have been meaning to visit. Was not disappointed. Brought a grin to by face to see Fried Green Tomatoes available for an appetizer. The chorizo cucumber sauce served with them is quite tasty. Tim makes it a point to introduce himself to each table, a gentleman, and it is obvious that some patrons are regulars, which definitely makes it feel more neighborly than most places you encounter. I also ordered Tim's Texan Grill Burger with Red Chile Onion Rings. I liked it. The burger was flavorful with the meat cooked just right, and the onion rings were fried-up perfectly. Will be going back to try breakfast, and the Caribbean Reuben sound intriguing.

My wife and I had breakfast here recently. The food was okay and not very memorable. The best thing that I remember were the potatoes served with breakfast which were quite good. Tim was there when we went and continuously asked us how we were doing, almost a little too attentive. He was nice and the rest of the waitstaff was courteous and efficient as well. Just the food was nothing outstanding or worth making an effort to go back for.

Good Food, Good Service Just recently dined there on Easter Sunday with my mother who had eaten here before. Everything looked good on the other customers plates as we walked in, so I was anxious to try everything. My mother recommended the breakfast enchiladas and the "alotta enchiladas",(sic). I opted for the second choice, but I also wanted a little breakfast food, so I ordered a side of sausage too. Our waiter was friendly and responsive, although he looked like he was 14 years old, (I'm old, so everyone looks like a kid these days)! Our orders came out fairly quickly although not quite right. The menu states that the plate came with a side of guacamole, which was missing. Our waiter apologized and quickly got our sides of guacamole. My mother had the carne adovada, (spell?) enchiladas, while I opted for the shredded beef. Both were tasty, although some people may find the red chile too mild for their tastes. I thought it was just fine. As a friend once told me, "pain is not a flavor". The side of two sausage patties was very good. Not overdone or greasy at all. I plan on going back relatively soon, but I'll get the carne adovada enchiladas instead, or maybe one of their other wide variety of dishes. I hope it stays in business - it's not real obvious where it is, and may get lost in the maze of strip shopping sites in this town. My only regret is that I didn't take advantage of the "free hugs" offered from Tim, or spent time looking at the collage of Tim's accomplishments on the wall. I recommend people do that - very inspiring! Please patronize this business.

Very friendly, clean, reasonably priced and very tasty food. I had the rueben on marble bread with red chile dusted onion rings! Excellent! My friend had the enchiladas and almost licked her plate clean. Tim was there to greet us and spent some time chatting with us too as did a couple of the servers. We will definitely be back!

The staff were all nice and attentive. Tim was there and got the whole restaurant singing for some reason... and then did the same song again ten minutes later. The food was just sad. We had the rattlesnake eggs for starters and they were mostly gobs of cream cheese, I noticed no peppers at all. My friend and I each got a burger. They're half pound burgers and I got a little suspicious when the waitress didn't ask for cook temps. When they arrived, it was obvious that they were pre-made, pre-cooked patties. They had fake grill marks and were flavored with liquid smoke. The only redeeming part of the meal was the red chile onion rings. All this and two iced teas cost us $35 plus tip. Tim is nice and all, but I see no reason to go back to a restaurant with such poor quality food.

Based on food alone I'd give this place 3 stars. I got a sandwich and my friend a salad they were "good". But not "great". Obviously it's more of the inspirational Tim's story that brought us in the door. Everyone on staff was super nice. Tim was there and did give us hugs on the way out which added two more hugs to the "hug counter" on the wall which was in the millions. I agree they were almost too attentive but shows they are trying hard. I guess it feels better to support this business than the other chains in the same complex (Boston market, einstein, firehouse).

I really wanted to like this place more -- Tim's story is pretty inspiring. Granted, I didn't see him when we were there, so maybe it wasn't a good time to be there... Anyway, the rangoon won tons were really good for an appetizer. My mom got breakfast enchiladas... she complained to me about how salty they were. I didn't really find them salty, but I also found them pretty bad. Chile wasn't very good at all, kind of flavorless. I got the BLT with sweet potato fries. The fries had absolutely no salt or seasoning at all on them - could have been much much better. The sandwich was fine, but there was supposed to be a "red chile mayo" that I couldn't taste at all and the bread was really dry. I'm probably more critical of food places than most people, which is why I still give 3 stars despite all my complaints. For an average little lunch/breakfast place it's not bad, but I'm probably not driving across town again anytime soon to go there.

The story behind Tim's Place is very inspirational. That said, my 2 stars is a cumulative score for the food, pricing, extra charges & service. The food was average to slightly above average but I wouldn't call it great. 2 1/2 - 3 stars for the food. Pricing 1-1/2 stars. Service 2 1/2 stars (average to maybe 3 stars). Because of extra charges I give this restaurant 2 stars. A long explanation for food & service isn't necessary just use my star ratings (after all, this is a breakfast/lunch place not a fancy French restaurant). Pricing is at least $1-2 higher than comparable restaurants like Weck's. Coffee is extra (doesn't come with meal & is $2.50). Other drinks I believe we're $3.50. If you want strawberries on your pancakes it's $2.50 more. If you want ham in your omelette it's $2.00 more. I think you get the idea. If you compare Tim's Place to Weck's; Weck's wins hands down, the reality show or CNN coverage notwithstanding.

Good. Nice little place. My family all had grilled ham and cheese with various sides. Fries were just fries but the sweet potato fries were the best I've had in a long time.

I say, go. :)
