Went with my family when the Daily Grind opened and really enjoyed the new location. We sat on the patio in brightly colored furniture by the pond and ate the most amazing fried pickle and Siracha appetizer. Since then, we have returned many times and enjoyed creative dishes, made with fresh ingredients. Mmmmmmm, Blackened Ruby Red Trout. Love this place! Great, clean environment and friendly waitstaff. Can't wait to go back.

I've visited the Daily Grind for the first time last week and came back to dine there tonight. Both times I must say that I was very pleased with my experience. The food tasted absolutely amazing. Me and my girlfriend had the nachos for an appetizer on our first visit and they were very delicious. Tonight we had the guacamole and chips which were equally pleasing. The appetizers are the perfect size to hold you over without filling you up. Both times I had the Christmas burger which has red and green chile along with avocados. It has a great, subtle taste without any of the ingredients overwhelming the other. My girlfriend had a steak special and the mahi mahi tacos, which she both thoroughly enjoyed. As some people have stated, it is a little confusing when you walk in about the seating, but both times the servers noticed us shortly upon arrival and instructed us to sit anywhere we like. The food does take a little longer than some places to arrive at your table, but I think the quality is well worth the wait. If you want some place with a quicker cook time, there are always all those chain restaurants with their frozen food and industrial microwaves that could satisfy your need for a quick meal. Me personally, when I go out to eat, I like to enjoy my time, my company and my food. No doubt we will be back again as both of our visits have been nothing short of outstanding.

I was an occasional customer at the old location and always had a good experience with the food. I was looking forward to a leisurely late morning meal with friends. My meal was a disaster! I ordered French toast which came with berry syrup and a side of two scrambled eggs. The meal arrived and the eggs had been cooked and chopped to the point that they were dried little egg granules. They were even hard to keep on a fork, they were so pulverized . I sent these back after two bites. I moved on to the French toast which was cold and served with cold syrup. To make a long story short it took two more requests to get the French toast AND the syrup back and both warmed - and then instead of the berry syrup I had maple syrup!. The interruptions to our party's conversation were just as annoying as the bad meal. When we left a young woman came out to the parking lot and apologized for the meal and hoped we would give it a second chance. After reading other reviews on here about the owner and the lack if responses from the owner it would appear to me that there is no emphasis on customer service. I worked for 12 years in the restaurant business so know how customer complaints should be handled. It's unfortunate as it is a lovely restaurant and the cappuccino was great. I'm not sure if I'll Be back again or not. There are so many other places to go in town.

We enjoy the patio at The Daily Grind. It is pet friendly and they almost always have a place open. Sitting on the patio usually means slow and unresponsive service. If you sit inside, the service is much better. Try the waffle sandwich!

As a first time customer, I had a little trouble figuring out how to enter the building. Once inside, it wasn't obvious that you seat yourself. Two clarifying items that would make it significantly less awkward upon arrival. (Think of obvious flow of Flying Star for example) The employees seemed comically amused that I couldn't figure this out, would probably help to have someone in front instead of 4-5 staring from behind the counter. Overall, service seemed disinterested, but attentive. Ok, the food - I had the breakfast burrito smothered with Christmas. Wasn't the best, wasn't the worst, I'd rate 2/5. Equally important to me is the coffee, which I'd give a 4/5. How did I arrive at 3/5? The first impression and service wasn't good, balanced with decent food and surprisingly great music and ambiance - plenty of chairs, tables, benches to spend a few hours with a coffee or friends, and I think it has great potential. I'll return, but with the hope that service and my food selection is improved.

The food was amazing...but the service was severely lacking. After placing our order the waitress ran off and did not see her for a while. When she returned with our drinks she forgot our water and we had to ask a couple times before she brought it. She seemed overwhelmed.

The new location is beautiful! But no wi-fi?! What the heck?! That seems like it should be a given these days. Service was good and the chicken tortilla soup was awesome!

Several months ago my wife and I came to this location. Food was good but there were issues with the wait staff. Today we went @10:30a when it was pretty busy. After we ordered our food it arrived within 10 minutes. Wait staff was very busy but overall good service. Breakfast was very tasty and the red chile was very flavorful. The decaf coffee was very good. There is seating both inside and out. The landscaping has pretty native plants. People were sitting outside with their dogs. It was a good experience and we will be back.

Even though I went on a Friday night, the restaurant was not more than 25% full. We sat outside near a pleasant pond and other aesthetically pleasing landscape designs. However, I was able to hear and see motor vehicles from the nearby freeway as well as hear gunfire from the shooting range next door. Regardless, I was able to enjoy conversations without getting too distracted. I ordered the crab cakes. The service was fast and I could tell there was impressive effort put into the presentation. The plate came with three cakes on a bed of buttermilk coleslaw. The cakes were excellent, cooked the right amount of time and not overly greasy. I've had better in Abq, but only at one other restaurant. I found the coleslaw to be a bold and unique addition. Overall, I would return here during breakfast or lunch so I could try the coffee, and I would certainly sit inside. Side note, the restrooms, or at least the men's, was extremely clean and welcoming.

DO NOT EAT AT THE DAILY GRIND. The food is generally tasty...... But that's if you get your food on time. Seating is very confusing, seeing as there is no host/hostess to show you where to sit. As far as customer service goes, i have never met a more rude staff of servers in my life. The name of my server was Ruth, who was not exceptionally friendly. She seemed more concerned with the guys from the shooting range next door than she did with our table. The food came out late, and she showed not the slightest concern. When asking to speak with the owner (I believe her name was Jeniffer), we were met with an even less concerned and much more rude presence. She refused to speak with us at first, and when she finally did, she was rude, unapologetic, and obnoxioux. Worst restaurant experience ever. I do not recommend it.
(1)Captain C.
The only thing we really liked was the chips. My wife ordered a club sandwich that was all bread. My meal was steak and eggs. I asked for over medium eggs they came to me like rubber. The steak was small and no flavor. No kids menus. Wait staff was friendly and good, but you can't eat the wait staff. That is against the law.
(2)Jessica N.
Will be a repeat customer. Went here last weekend for the first time for their breakfast. Nice indoor atmosphere. Large portions and good prices. Amazing baked goods and coffee! Biggest complaint is the overall location - right next to I-40 and a shooting range. Decided to sit indoors though the weather was perfect, just to avoid the sounds coming from the shooting range. Think they could do better business in a different location. Though inside the business you don't notice the surroundings - pleasant electric fireplace and comfy chairs in the corner.

I had a great experience at The Daily Grind. The food is delicious & it has a great atmosphere. I recommend the pear essentials panini!
(4)Todd R.
It looks like our experience with the owner mirrors several others here on Yelp. We went there to lunch today for the first time because the menu looked delicious. We sat out on an almost empty patio and for the 10 minutes we sat there (I went in to grab a menu), three other parties arrived, who were all served well before us. I asked our server to bring the manager so we could let her know about watching the empty tables (she brought who we later found out was the owner). I tried to be as polite as possible when talking and explained that I wasn't blaming our waitress but the owner interrupted me when I was talking and berated me for not being more assertive and signaling down staff. She did not apologize and acted like I was lucky to have the opportunity to eat her food. I have only experienced such a rude restaurant owner one other time in my life. We will not be going back. In regards to the food, the menu looked good but my wrap was well under stuffed, relatively flavorless, and wrapped in a underwhelming white tortilla. The fries weren't bad.

I'd heard some good things about TDG and today had a chance to visit. I have a couple of friends with whom I have lunch with every Tuesday and I wanted to check out The Daily Grind before suggesting it as a place to go. So, I walked in during a slow period. No greeting. No welcome. Perused the desert case offerings while other counter people/waitresses did their side work. Still no greeting, no how-do-you-do. Nothing. I finally took a seat at an empty table pretty much in the center of the room facing the counter and desert case. One waitress in a green tee over by the pass through to the kitchen looked right at me for nearly a minute before turning away. Waited another 7 minutes before another of the wait staff finally brought me a menu. Again... no welcoming greeting, nothing. nada. zip. I placed my order - the bacon/potato pocket and coffee. The waitress did come back and asked if I wanted my coffee warmed up, but didn't inquire "How's your food? Is it ok?" Nothing. Indifference is not a good customer experience. I won't recommend it and I won't go back. While the food was good, the utter indifference to a woman dining alone made it go down like ashes in my mouth.

Delicious, local food in a fun atmosphere. Pros: Food is excellent and fresh, with some unique takes on old favorites. Service is friendly. Atmosphere is casual and fun, with a nice patio option. Love the London Fogs, and the raspberry purée I had with my waffle was to die for :-) Cons: A little on the expensive side. Also, expect the food to take a little longer than other restaurants (not a big deal for most, but may affect your decision if running short on time)

Daily Grind solidly deserves a 3.5. Sadly, I can't give it one, so we'll have to go with the three. This is the sort of place where you are paying a premium for the atmosphere. Compared to your standard workplace lunch joint, Daily Grind is quite clean and well-put together, with an atmosphere crossed between rustic and modern. Quite similar to Vinaigrette in this sense. Diners, however, pay a small premium for the atmosphere, and the prices are slightly higher than the "workplace lunch" norm. Service was polite, but somewhat ineffective. My group was ready to order well in advance of the time our orders were in fact taken, and one party member's question regarding the soup took an inordinately long time to answer. As for the food, I found the contents of my sandwich tasty, but rather lacking in portion, particularly compared to the rather heaping portion of fries. With more sandwich and less fries, the meal would have been substantially improved. I found the iced tea to be average in the extreme. Overall, not bad.

I found this place on yelp when trying to locate beer and coffee for my girlfriends and I. So glad I came across this cute place. It has a very trendy and relax vibe to it. My first time here I had nachos and a latte. I know not a good combo but I liked my nachos so much I forgot about my latte. But I did save it to have a brownie with it. My girlfriends and I have been so pleased we have returned a few more times I normally just get coffee when I visit now, their is nothing wrong with the food, but its kind of become our coffee hang out. Which they have a good variety of. The chai latte is the only one I wasn't happy with and cafe con leche has become my favorite.

This place is getting knocked down a star. I'm still super unimpressed by the 'walk in and seat yourself' thing. If it's going to be a full service restaurant, which it is portrayed as, there shouldn't be silence and possibly unwelcoming eyes when I walk in. If you want to have me order at the counter...then put up a sign or guide me in some way. It's a mixture of two different styles of restaurants, and I don't like it!! That being said, when I did get to my table, the server was nice enough. He did put down the check before asking me if I wanted dessert (which I'm pretty sure The Daily Grind is known for). I get it bud...I don't look like I need it...but I'd still like to be asked. I saw him set down a check on another table while they were in the middle of eating. How rude! The reason why this place doesn't get 2 stars is because the food isn't as uninspired as the atmosphere. The food is consistently good! I guess you've gotta do some soul searching and figure out what's important to you in a restaurant/cafe/whatever it is.

A humble space of rustic furniture and comfort foods done just right, clearly with precision, thought, and care. I've only ever been for breakfast but now it's my go-to spot to hang out with the gal pals other than The Grove. Now, I loves me some Grove but the Daily Grind is less of a drive for me, at a more affordable price point, offers very dedicated service, and is just as phenomenal. The breakfast steak and eggs with chimichurri sauce is fantastic and the bagel panini is a value at a mere $5. I also enjoy the steel cut oatmeal with mascarpone cheese and fixins and the espresso drinks I've ordered here have always been on point. Check it out, I think you might just become a regular too.

Came here for the first time for lunch and had a great experience. Delicious food, nice portion sizes, and extremely friendly staff. Definitely coming back.

Best crab cakes and key lime pie in town!
(5)Adric M.
I keep trying and i want to give the place a flowing review. but its got some issues, one thing, its consistently slow. 15-20min wait for food has been the norm during 4 visits, both late lunch and early evening hours. perhaps they are faster in the morning? And while i enjoy the food i get, i always kinda feel like its on the small side for the price. (i understand they do alot of careful sourcing and therefore price goes up, but really i spent 2x the price of a 1/2 sized sandwich than i could have goten at any of the other Bahn Mi places in town. And felt the same way on the Cubano, and even the burger, (although i think it was the closest in value to food ratio. The waiter was pleasant, but all in all i was almost 10 minutes back from lunch, and i work less than 1/2 mile away and really didn't dillydally while eating. it just took so long, to make a small sandwich and fries.

Ready your Yelp app: this place offers a free appetizer during happy hour, everyday 4-6 pm. Check-in and you're golden. My experience here, dining during breakfast and dinner, varies between 3 and 4 star. The wait staff was generally very good. I know the ritual, as a former waiter, of popping by my table to make sure everything is All Good while the kitchen prepares the meals. At the Daily Grind this is stated on the menu, something along the lines of "We don't pre-pare your meal, we cook it when you order it". Here, the plates can take a long while to arrive. So plan on a lengthy stay. Ultimately, the food satisfies. We've chowed on the huevos, the breakfast burritos, and for dinner the red ruby trout (very good) alongside some seriously scrumptious but generally boring plates of fries, cheese and chile. It's hard to rate this sucker, honestly. The appetizers came out immediately and the entrees were so slow, it's definitely a place you need to plan to relax and spend time waiting for. I don't want to dog it for authenticity, I appreciate the idea of true home-cooked meals, but man, the place needs to pick up the pace. If I have an hour to spare, I'm there. The Grind is a great find in this strip mall haven.

The Daily Grind has been around since I first got to Albuquerque. Their new digs are much nicer and it seems it's allowed them to expand their menu. All of this is a good thing. When they were on Central in EDO, The Grind was a good brunch place with a friendly staff and a little exploration to find a seat. The new location is a new building that's decorated in a sort of "modern" and "home. A big garage door allows them to have an "indoors outdoors" thing going during warmer months. It shares a parking lot with Caliber's Shooting Range, which makes for an odd marriage as I don't see The Grind's staff being big "shooter" types. I digress... I've only been to their new location once, but was happy to see a homemade veggie burger with more than one serving option. I got a veggie hoagie with the veggie patty added. It was a good sized meal that was quite flavorful. The coffee was decent.

First time visit. We sat indoors- nice atmosphere but no wifi. Coffee was lukewarm. Menu had a nice selection. They seemed to be out of a lot of their desserts. Overall- good, not great.
(3)Sandra G.
To me this place is five stars alone for having good coffee AND a variety of alcoholic beverages (these are a few of my favorite things). We picked this place for a girls night dinner before our movie. It was a good pick because the service was good the food was great and dessert was excellent. I really like the industrial design of the place, it's clean fresh and modern. We started out with some coffee and I have to say it was delicious. We decided to share some nachos and it was a good choice since the plate was really big. We gobbled those up in no time. The chips were nice and crispy, and the toppings were delish. We will definitely be going back to this place soon enough. Go try this place and make sure you try one of their desserts too!!
(5)Kip M.
Met a friend for breakfast and coffee. I had a breakfast burrito and it was the worst I can remember. Like a bad microwave product with some salsa dumped over the top. Was there for over an hour and my water was never once refiled. Breakfast should be easy and good, not going back.
(2)Cristina M.
I anticipated terrible service, so I set myself up with low expectations and came away very pleased. I'm reluctant to give five stars (and rarely do for a first visit) because others clearly have had such bad experiences, including some friends of mine (outside of Yelp), but I was so pleasantly surprised that I can't help it. Everything about my experience was great. I brought my daughter here for an early dinner before she had a long rehearsal. I hadn't been overly anxious to try this place for two reasons: negative reviews and because it's next to a shooting range. I still don't care for the latter. I digress. The atmosphere was upscale casual. We were seated right away and overall, service was very attentive and pleasant. We were served a plate of homemade croutons with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For my meal, I ordered the portobello ragout with polenta and wilted spinach. My daughter had a green chile cheese burger with fries. She thought her dish was really good and I loved mine. The portobello was grilled and sliced. The ragout was tasty. The polenta was creamy, but not milky. The spinach was perfectly wilted and ample. I wish I could have had a glass of wine, but I had to drive my daughter around town, so not tonight. They have a nice selection of tasty- looking desserts: tiramisu, carrot cake, key lime pie, cheese cake, and a few others. I let my daughter choose and she opted for the tiramisu. It was quite good--heavy on the espresso (I'm not a coffee drinker, so this isn't my favorite dessert). I was hoping she'd choose the carrot cake or key lime pie. Next time. We live in walking distance, so I'd like to take a weekend stroll and try The Daily Grind for breakfast, although it seems like the majority of negative reviews are for the morning. We'll try anyway and I hope I can update my review with another five stars.

Liked a lot - had lunch there a couple weeks ago with a friend who lives close by this area. She swears by the food and ambiance, prices, etc. We had the greek salad with chicken. I was genuinly surprised they used chicken thigh strips, but appreciate this execution because the chicken was moist and tender, not try and chewy. A couple items were missing, like red onion, but overall I was very happy with the dish and the waiter was attentive without being overbearing. I'm definitely interested in going back, my friend says they serve breakfast and Brunch on Sundays, so I will check that out.
(4)Juan C.
I ordered steak and eggs. The steak was about 3oz and mostly fat. I could not chew my first bite enough to swallow (see picture). The server took the steak back and came back 7 minutes later with the same steak and said owner will not replace. I had only taken one bite of the eggs and asked to not have to pay for my meal. Owner refused and charged for the eggs and potatoes. In discussion with the owner about the matter, her tone of voice and nonverbal gestures were extremely loud, rude, discourteous and impolite . It was one of the most uncomfortable experiences I have ever experienced at a restaurant.
(1)Dave D.
Just got a quick coffee here. Seemed ok. Server was friendly. Update: Went in this morning and got there before they opened. They let me in early to get my cup of coffee!

If you think I was effusive before, you have not seen anything yet. I took my Consort for Valentines Day dinner last night. Unbelievable! Food, service by Ruth, and ambiance, flowers on the table and beautiful runners on tables, candles on the counter. I had the pleasure of meeting Mike, Nancy's husband since my last review. They are the owners and a very nice couple. Staff as always, were friendly and engaging. I have taken the time to engage Nancy and wait staff. To me, that is part of the dining experience. Last night's meal was wonderful. My Consort had the double thick stuffed pork chop with whipped sweet potatoes and brazed Kale with a vinegrett. It was moist and delightful. I bogarted the appetizer, 4 large shrimp, beautifully displayed on a bed of sprouts hiding a surprise chutney relish or salsa, if you please of Mango, celery and onion. Finely chopped onions and celery for the crunch and they did not overpower the Mango. I had Beef Wellington that even Chef Ramsey of Hell's Kitchen could have found no fault with. It was still red but cooked perfectly. Garlic mashed potatoes and Julianned vegetables rounded out my dish. Desert was a hot chocolate souffle to die for. Coffee for both of us and we were ready to take a nap. The courses were more than ample, nicely spaced for digestion. My intention is try a regular dinner ocassionally. I told Nancy jokingly that I would be reluctant to dine in the future as she had raised the bar so high I feared being disappointed in the future. The is The Daily Grind's third location in 20 years of business. As to the alleged range noise referenced by another diner, unless you have hearing like a dog, it will not be an issue. I am one of those shooters. Where else, can you shoot, buy supplies, visit an anglers shop, purchase a weapon safe and have a stellar meal all in one complex? Go to The Daily Grind, but do not take my table or parking space. Eat, enjoy wait staff, hug Nancy. :-)

Tucked in behind Washington St and Cutler Ave, The Daily Grind is a great cafe for getting a coffee, cake, sandwich and drinks. This is one of a handful of places in Abq that consistently makes a decent espresso. They have a nice selection of sandwiches of which ive tried several including a Reuben and Cubano, both of which were very tasty. Size is not huge but well constructed and very well presented. They have reglar weekly specials including taco Tuesdays and Wing Wednesdays. Tried the wings, optons of hot, teriyaki and cocnut curry, all good. They have a selection of different cakes and sweets, all made in house. The key lime pie is a standout. The cafe is tastefully decorated and has a relaxed, airy feel inside. There is also a patio with umbrellas for shade. Ample parking in attached lot. Highly recommended all around.

Please add wifi I would rather spend my money here then Starbucks....

I wouldn't say I am a regular at the Daily Grind, in fact, I've only been there twice. I love that it's located right around the corner from Sports and Wellness, so after the gym I can grab a light bite, some coffee, and hang out for a bit. However, this location is a little strange for anything but after the gym eating. It's off the beaten trail a bit as far as food goes, but I can deal with it. The food is pretty darn great. I got the "lunch fit for a business suit" or whatever it's called, but I couldn't fit into any of my business suites if I tried right now, so I kind of feel like I'm lying. I got the soup of the day which was cream of potato and the grilled cheese. The soup was 'ight. It was chunky, it was starchy, it was your basic potato anything. The grilled cheese on the other hand blew my face away. So freaking delicious. Melty cheese, tomato, and that yummy local tasting green chile. Yum. Yum. Yum. The second time I came for breakfast. I got the yogurt parfait which was filled with yummy yogurt, granola, crisp apples, strawberries, some wrinkled dry fruit, and it was yum! It wasn't my favorite yogurt dish I have ever had, and I don't think it was worth what I paid, but it was still pretty delicious none the less! The coffee is delicious, and it doesn't have that burned taste that some chains have. The only downside to this place is the location, like I mentioned above, and the service. The first time I went we obviously had a new server. She tried, but she was pretty stinkin' awkward about all of her interactions with us. I'm not gonna judge, she's new and will probably get better. However, one of her coworkers decided it would be a good time to sweep the floor, whatever, we've all been servers it happens. What doesn't happen though, is someone shoving a broom under your table, feet, and knocking it around while you are eating. That's just uncomfortable. The second time I went the girl threw down some menus and then without giving us a moment to look at anything says, "what can I get you?" commence panic order on the drinks. Then I watched as she called two elderly women "girls". Gah, so much awkward I wanted to die. The food here is pretty tasty, the coffee is amazeballs, and the service is lacking in a lot of decent server education, but I'm willing to overlook that.

We stopped in with friends this afternoon and had a really nice and delicious lunch. I found the wait staff to be very friendly and they kept my drink full (thank you :) My wife and I split up the Grilled Cheese and Grilledgarden, I'll say the Grilledgarden exceeded my expectations! I really love the home made chips, they're a great substitute for fries. My friend and his wife had the Salad of the day (A grilled chicken salad with an Asian sauce) I had a bite of it and man I almost wished I'd have chosen it instead of my sandwich. We'll come here again it's right on the way to Midtown Sports & Wellness so that's a plus! I didn't try any of the very interesting beverages on the menu today, I'll save that for a review update. If you're in midtown and you're hungry or thirsty you might give them a go.
(4)Jordan F.
The food is pretty good and is made fresh to order (takes a bit longer than normal of course). They're very family friendly and still hip. I love the patio and the kids equipment. Prices are higher than normal but good quality. My family visits often and really enjoys the place. Coffee and baked goods are yummy.

My husband and I went on a Saturday night and had a lovely time. The wait staff was friendly and attentive! I had the salmon special that came on salad greens and it was fresh tasting and well prepared. My husband had the pesto chicken on mashed potatoes and it also was delicious (I may have tried a bite :) the chicken was perfectly cooked and the greens were tasty! his potion was so big he actually had to take home his leftovers, which is something that rarely happens when we dine out. The menu stated that all food is made at the time it is ordered, so we didn't mind that the food took a bit to get to our table. We enjoyed the ambience, listens to the great music and had some very nice wine while we waited. The server came over a few times to check on us and was very friendly. We will be back and I can't wait to enjoy that lovely patio when the weather warms up!
(5)Pat N.
Ever since moving to new uptown location, food and especially service has went down hill. I had a turkey fold over and it was small and soggy. I also ordered a dessert and it tasted old. The wait staff is rude. I used to love eating at the location on Broadway and Central and now that they have expanded, I will not be returning. Lunch and dessert for $25 is too high especially with bad food and terrible service.
(1)Sarah J.
I loved the atmosphere of this place! I got the salad and my friend got a burger. I would have liked a little more chicken on my salad, but his burger was great!
(5)Noemi D.
Cozy, comfort place to enjoy somr good coffee or drink. Great ambiance and friendly staff. The nachos and chis with grilled chicken was very good. Chips were freshly made and the dessert was to die for. Yummy, yum, yum! The brownie was a mix of perfect amount of chocolate and walnuts. The pumpkin cookie with cream cheese on top was exactly want you need for a "pumpkin fix" in this time of season. Hope you enjoyed it as much as me and my girls did. Tip: ask the waiter what she recommends since she did a good job recommending our desserts. Advice: when I go back I'm def asking them to warm it up so it can be a mouthwatering experience, jist as I dream about having my dessert. Nice and warm. Enjoy!

We tried this place again hoping for better service this time. Unfortunately, it was even worse than the last time. We had to go in search of our own silverware, at which point we were told "hold on I will bring it to you" so then I was waiting for silverware that she could have just handed to us. A table next to us was also complaining about how long they have been waiting and been sitting without drinks. Anyways, I could go on and on about how rude and horrible the service was but in the end we ended up leaving before food came. 0 stars

Came here on a cold windy day in November and enjoyed a warm cup of coffee. We had breakfast which was delicious. The chile wasn't hot, but good. I had the bagel paini and my friend had the breakfast burrito and tortilla chip soup... the counter was filled with pastries and pies... the staff was nice and accomidating. I enjoyed the modern decor and high ceiling. I definitely plan on coming back especially because they serve both beer and coffee!
(4)Nita M.
Well, I've gone from two stars to one. I would eat there and overlook the horrible service but I can no longer do that. I will not be returning to this place. We went for dinner last night and it was horrible. I ordered the enchiladas smothered in red. They put a tiny bit of red chile between the tortillas that were over cooked and were more like stale tortilla chips. My daughter ordered a burger medium well. She got a burger have medium and half well. How do you do that? She ordered french fries which were soggy and undercooked. My husband ordered a burger medium. He got very well done. When we complained to the waitress the cook and owner blamed us! We should have complained sooner she said. Well we would have if the server had been somewhere to be found. I hate this place. They don't care about their customers at all. Watching the owner sit at the counter and do nothing to help disgusts me. There is no management here and way too much tolerance for the lazy wait staff.

Horrible service. There were two parties in the restaurant and it took 15minites for a greeting. Another 25 for food that at was cold. Well my sons was hot but mine was cold. Which makes sense right!? Idiot didn't even know how to make a lemonade. Food is also highly salty. Gross gross

We just left this place and are literally shaking. Horrible service (order wasn't put in) and when we asked for the manager she didn't want to hear a word of it. We were being completely reasonable and she just started in with, did you notice how busy we were when you walked in? Worst restaurant experience I've ever had in all my life. Wow. Plus, cold cinnamon rolls and my fruit was obviously cut with the same knife that was used to cut onions. Awful. The worst. No stars.

This is my first time visiting the Daily Grind at their new location. Great potato soup and ABQ sandwich. The service was a little slow but we we're were there at the Sunday peak.

I've been here three times and today was the last time. I like their coffee and the foods decent, nothing new or innovative. They recently increased their prices though asking ten dollars for plain old huevos. The service is always horrible. The servers are either rushed, angry or incompetent. I never get any refills and the food takes about 30 minutes or more to get to the table. They have comped us desserts but Im not a fan. By the way don't try to pay with cash because they must not have a register and waiting for change is no fun.
