We first tried this place a couple of months ago because Outback across the street was very busy and we really wanted steak. The food wasn't bad and so we decided to try them again last night. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, not bad for 7pm on a Saturday. We were seated and a waitress took our drink order. My husband and I started to peruse the menu, opting for the TXLC special sirloins: mine the 8oz with a loaded baked potato and house salad. My husband the 10oz with fries and blue cheese wedge. Our drinks arrived via a new waiter who apologized for any "confusion". He then proceeded to tell us that they were out of bread and baked potatoes due to a broken oven. Not cool. Okay.....I modified. I ordered garlic mashed potatoes instead. While the waiter was writing down our orders, another waiter paraded by with bread for another table. Huh? So, I asked if the bread was for everybody but us...in a joking way. Our waiter really seemed baffled by the whole bread thing.....I'm sure he was only relaying what he had been told. He said he would look into it for us. Okay then. Honestly, the bread is yummy awesomeness......we had really been looking forward to it. We were discussing the lack of bread and a female manager overheard us and brought us "the last bread". Cool! Waiter returns to tell us it's a no-go on the bread, poor guy. The salads arrive about 10 minutes later. No complaints, just your basic salads. Then, the real waiting begins. Half hour after salads.....no food. 40 minutes after salads....no food. The table of 4 next to us gets their food.....all 4 with BAKED POTATOES!! You have got to be kidding me! I see our waiter and flag him down to ask about the potatoes, but I'm no longer kidding. He says he'll see if he can "wrangle" me one. Whatever. FINALLY, 50 minutes post salads......................COLD FOOD!! And no baked potato...... yet. My steak was just warm, I was starving and all complained out, so I ate it. It didn't taste bad, just not very hot. My husbands was ice cold. 10 minutes later, the waiter returned with my potato and my husband sent back his steak. I tried to dig into my potato but it was hard as a rock and not very warm. There was a glob of unmelted butter and shredded cheese on top. Yuck. I tried the garlic mashed....nope. Just not for me. So, I ate my steak while my poor husband waited and waited. Female manager stops by to tell my husband "sorry" and they were remaking his dinner. She turns to me and says "At least I got you some bread". Yeah, that makes it all better. She asks if my dinner was okay....well, no it really wasn't. She wants to get me another side. No thanks. Dessert? Not a chance. I get a good look at her eyes...........she's either been crying (which is likely considering the fiasco she was working through), her allergies were hitting her hard.......or she was stoned. I really hope it was one of the first 2 options. She clears my plates and we wait. And wait. About 20 minutes (yes, 20 minutes) later, my huband gets his steak.....hot, juicy and cooked just how he likes it. Wonders never cease. Female manager returns telling us our meals are on them. As it should be. We won't be returning for a LONG while. Maybe it'll give them a chance to fix their ovens and learn to communicate with each other. Really, there is nothing like being told you can't have something and then see everybody else get it. Not cool. Normally, this place would get 3 stars...and a half for the bread. Not tonight.

Myself and a group of coworkers dined at this establishment tonight. We were seated very quickly as it was on Tuesday. We sat with our menus for a minute as to be expected. When the waiter came up he was very cordial, and ran through standard spiel that any waiter throws at you. Drinks? Appetizers? We ordered a few beers and some waters to give us some time to review the menu. When he came back he took our orders and went off. We got our salads which he gave mine to another cohort and the salad that would have been mine to a gentlemen that didn't order one. No biggie, mistakes happen. The reduction on the stars is for the peppercorn ribeye. I like a peppercorn ribeye. Usually has a good sauce and great flavor. However, the steak was the worst ribeye I've ever had my life as it was fatty, grisly and COVERED in cracked black pepper. I don't mean a dusting, I mean the chef must have dropped the pepper can on this thing. No other seasoning than the pepper. Nothing whatsoever to do with peppercorn. To top it off, the sauce paired with it? Bland as could be. What a letdown! There are plenty of other restaurants in that area, I'd advise giving this one a pass.

I've eaten here now about 3 times and I can say that each visit has progressively gotten worse. The food quality has declined each time we've eaten there. Although the service was excellent, I would have give them 2 stars if the service was below average. John as attentive and polite, he never let our drinks run dry and his hospitality was on point. I had the sirloin fried steak, garlic mash potatoes with creamy gravy and green beans. It was okay, I'd say it was like eating at KBobs....which isn't that great. It was okay, definitely not what they used to be. However, the wait was relatively short and parking was not a problem. I don't think I'll be eating here anymore. Thanks for the memories!

Had lunch here today. Wish I hadn't. I remember when TLC first opened. I thought it was fairly decent for those days and I probably would've left a 4 star review back then. Since then, it has been on a steady decline to the level of "your neighborhood grill" type places. And now, after my lunch here today....it delves further into the depths of dispair. So we had a free lunch today and TLC popped into my head for some reason. It had been a couple years since I've been there and it's close, so why not. I had the full rack of ribs. They were pretty scrawny and tasted like they boiled them first, then got sauced and then put on the grill to give it char marks. The jalapeño cheese grits were barely warm and way too firm. Remember the bread and butter? You now have to request it. Lame. The crispy shoestring fries were anything BUT crispy and shoestring. They're just regular ol soggy fries. It was off the lunch menu, however, but I wouldn't expect dinner to be significantly better. Another thing...the place was practically empty. I remember back in the day it was a hoppin place for lunch and I'd always see other peeps from my line of work having lunch too. 2 stars. Should be one, but the service was very good. I'll give them that, but most people don't eat at places with great service and horrible food. I give them 6 months until you know what.

Jonathan was the nicest waiter. The food was cooked perfect and the sweet potato was incredible.

Consistent big box restaurant. The smoked sirloin is really good but isn't always the temperature desired since it is cut from a larger portion. The pulled pork stuffed jalapeños are fun to try and have a great smoked flavor. If you are looking for predictable this is a good stop.

For god's sake don't order any cocktails here. Apparently their version of a Long Island is a glass of Sweet and Sour mix with a dash of coke for color. I'm swallowing a handful of Tums right now to try and fight back the reflux.

We arrived in Albuquerque last night for the Fiesta and decided to get some food. We all ordered the sirloin, but we were served ribeye. At this point we were all hungry so we ate it. Well tried to. The steak was about 85 to 90% fat. $16.99 for fat and 4 bites of steak. I also ordered my steak medium rare, it came to me almost fresh off the cow... Then our youngest one ordered green beans with her steak, and they put garlic on it. The garlic was so over powering that the smell ruined any bites you had of any other food. The waiter was slow, but they were fairly packed so we understand. But we were still charged full price after all the issues... 1 star. It was really a bad experience.

Two words: Smoked Steak!!! Their house signature smoked sirloin steak had extraordinarily excellent flavor & fine tender texture. Easy to pick this as a go-to for repeat visits. House salad was fine, albeit the usual combo of veggies. Two things raised the salad above the norm: (1) the dressing (vinagrette?) had very good spicing, including celery seeds, in it and had a smooth, rich, slightly thick body to it that held its place on the veggies and (2) the veggies were actually prepped in the kitchen, i.e. were chopped to decently small pieces for easy eating, not just greens dumped from a bag topped with thick slabs 'n chunks (quick & dirty prep technique) of tomato & cukes. The skin-on garlic mashed potato was quite strong on garlic flavor. I liked it. However, if you like your garlic mashed potato on the gentler, subtler side be warned that these came on with all cylinders firing full of garlic power. Service was very good. An easy 5 stars in my book. Price was a little above Duke City average perhaps, but the quality of the food easily justified its level. To me the price:quality ratio was very good.

Yes. As good as it gets!!! I was craving for steak so when I was leaving my hotel, I asked the parking lot attendant where he would go to for a great steak and he told me Texas Land & Cattle. I did a Yelp search and hit directions and here I go. The restaurant was very nice and beautiful, I made it there in time for happy hour so I ordered the following: South Padre Island Hurricane ($5): Yummy!!!! It had Vodka, Rum, Southern Comfort, Grenadine, Orange and Pineapple juice. Avocado Smash ($5): probably the best guacamole and chips I've ever had. Boneless Ribeye and Caesar salad ($23): Delicious!!! I got it medium/rare so it was tender and juicy. One thing I should have said was easy on the dressing and no salt and pepper on the steak. Otherwise it was delicious. I am looking forward to going here again.

We had reservations at 6PM last night for my sons 33rd birthday. We sat down before he arrived and noticed the dishes on table were dirty. We also noticed a bad odor in the place. We asked to move tables and they did allow us to do that but with no better outcome. We left and went to another restaurant. Just an awful experience!

After a long day of traveling this place was perfect for my appetite. Very friendly staff not once did I have to ask for water. The waiter kept those glasses filled. I ordered the full rack of ribs. They were delicious and meaty. It was almost too much food but I finished it. Get the Mac and cheese as a side with it.

I'm real happy to update this. In my last review I had a pretty bad experience. But the management was great about it, and even contacted me on yelp to come back in. Well we did tonight and the service was perfect. The steak was good and I haven't got a complaint on the world. We tried the onion strings, it was delicious and it was a mountain of them. Our steaks were right the first time and our waters never went empty.

Aaahhhh Texas Land and Cattle, my families from Texas so I love anything Texas!! Don't judge me lol. I actually haven't eaten here in a few years and not because the food or service was bad but I just started trying different places and hadn't gotten around back here. Well I'm happy to report that it's just as I remember, great service, great food, good vibes. I love this place. This place give Texas Road House a run for there money. TLC is like the up scale Texas Road House! I ordered the peppercorn Ribeye steak with a side of Jalapeño cheddar grits- one word, Fantastic! I've never had peppercorn on anything and I'm happy to say the first time was great. My steak was cooked perfectly and had plenty of juice to keep it tender, wow what a great steak. Being southern raised, I've eaten grits all my life and the Jalapeño grits is now a personal favorite! Although TLC is a chain restaurant, it's still fantastic and the food is great. Also the decor and ambiance is really modern and relaxing. Do yourself a favor and head over to TLC, they will not disappoint- although I've read other reviews that suggest otherwise. It was great for me, enjoy!

Quick Notes ·Decor not too bad ·Service wasn't too shabby ·Food and meat was bland ·Portion to price ratio wasn't there ·Meat didn't taste like it even had salt and pepper I probably wouldn't ever want to come back to any Texas Land & Cattle location. I'd much rather spend my money elsewhere for much better quality and portion.

Okay steakhouse, let me see...hmm...aaahh...give me a minute...I'm thinking, I'm thinking...nope just an average steakhouse chain now. The last time I was at a TXLC was quite a few years ago on the San Antonio river walk, remembered that steak to this day. Wouldn't kick TXLC to the curb, but wouldn't come back to NM for it.

Not sure how you can give this place anything but 5 stars. I always get the smoked sirloin with lobster tail, spicy cesar salad and loaded baked potato. Oh...and the pale ale!

Little brother used to work here, so on a recent trip to the area I was ushered here. My choice of a smothered sirloin left me with a little bit of empty stomach, but it was prepared well. Our server was attentive, but I think that this was largely due to my brother's former employment at the joint. Decor was ticky-tacky Western kitsch. Toby Keith and blue alligator skin cowboy boots.

This is the best steakhouse my wife and I have ever been to. Granted there are probably many excellent ones we have not been to that are supposed to be great so I can only say this in my own experience. We first went here back in 1999 on a trip to Alb, NM. I ordered a rib-eye and my wife ordered a sirloin. At first mine was not done enough and the waiter who was very friendly and accomodating took it back to be cooked more. Once I got it back he made sure I was satisfied with it and then even the manger stopped by to make sure that the steak was done to my liking. I don't know how they do it but it was amazing. For one thing they are char-grilled and have that nice grilled look and taste. We went again in 2005 while on a cross country trip while moving from MA to Utah. For days before we got there we kept saying to each other we gotta plan this so we get to NM at a time when we can have a meal at Texas Land and Cattle! And so it worked out we got there about 5pm, had a wonderful dinnerl it was still great after 5 years! Then we drove another 130 miles to Gallup, NM before stopping for the night. Can't wait to go back again sometime!

We ended up going here for dinner because Texas Roadhouse was packed and we couldn't even find a place to park. The room we were seating in was freezing. I ordered water to drink and it tasted horrible, so I ordered a Sprite which also tasted horrible. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad with spicy dressing for dinner. The chicken had no flavor and some sort of skin like crispy crust on it. Most of the lettuce in the salad was brown and not edible. The dressing really had no flavor either. My husband ordered a steak. The amount of tendon and fat he cut was equal to the amount of edible steak there was. The waitress was nice, but we will not be going here again.

Attempt number two wasn't all I was hoping for. The service was better than my first visit. In fact the service may have been considered excellent, I unfortunately don't remember our servers name but he did remember my side of mayo. The food was fair, my medium rare ribeye was thin and overdone, at least it tasted good. The fries were meh, I suspect frozen. The spicy Caesar salad was unique and delicious. For an appetizer three of us shared the avocado, spinach dip and queso blanco. The avocado left something to desired but the queso was really good. Amber had the Cobb salad that she always has, this time with steak instead of chicken, she prefers it with chicken and loves it. I was fortunate enough to have obtained $40 worth of gift certificates. Unless I come across another batch of certificates I doubt I'll return to Texas Land and Cattle. There is not enough bang for the buck; for less money I can cross the freeway, wait in line and have a huge steak that's cooked perfectly.

I came here today with my family around 4pm. The restaurant was empty for the most part but still took about 15 minutes to get seated. After being seated it then took the waitress about 15 minutes for her to come take our drink order after taking our drinks we had to wait yet again for her to take our order. Service was really slacking at this place. As far as the food I had the smoked sirloin which was ok but would of been better if they would of brought my sides with it. If it was up to me I would of left and went to Texas Roadhouse across the street.

Sometimes a good steak comes down to your location. Knowing what I know about grilling and barbecue there is only so much you can do to dress up a bad cut of meat. That said Texas Land and Cattle knows how to pick a good piece of meat for the grill. If the meat is well marbled and trimmed to allow the fat to accentuate the natural juices, without affecting the rate of cooking you can be assured that the flavor will be there, with no need for steak sauce. My wife and I went for the 20 ounce porterhouse cooked medium and we split it with our kids. We both received excellent cuts of meat. My wife trims off the fat and will not eat a piece of steak that is fatty. I noticed that she didn't remove anything from her steak, which is a very good sign. We started out with their nachos, which seemed a little light on the cheese, until we noticed that there was a second layer under the first. The baked potatoes are cooked just right, but they apparently don't bake them in foil and the skins were a little crispy. I actually like that. Texas Land and Cattle is a casual dining place that looks a bit more upscale than other steakhouses. They play music at a low volume so if you want to chat, you can without raising your voice. Lots of places put your great-grandmother's washboard and sheep shearing scissors on the wall and call that "decoration," or they somehow think that because it is a steak house, that everyone wants to listen to the latest pop country music at loud volume while tossing empty peanut shells on the floor. Those are gimmicks, this is a place to eat and enjoy steak, and one that would make Ron Swanson proud to frequent. This place definitely stands out from the other nifty places that sell steak and charge the same prices.

The food was great! Our server Johnathan knew his stuff; he sold the right drink for the occasion and was ready when we wanted to order! His demeanor was utterly professional and super-friendly! (Not a five because I had a dirty glass of water)! James, the manager, wad supremely thoughtful and didn't make us wait when we needed to speak to him, coming right away! Thanks Texas Land and Cattle!!

We were greeted almost immediately on a Sunday afternoon. Our wait for our beverage order took a while (8 minutes) and another (5 minutes) before we received it, which seems a little long since the restaurant had only less than 10 tables and 5 servers on staff at the time. We are attributing this to the waiter possibly being new. We placed our orders. NY steak and the special (smoked sirloin). We received our apps, the tortilla soup, and realized that it had seemed they had prepared it differently. The chicken was cut into square bits and not the usual shredded chicken. The soup was more like a broth rather than the usual thickened soup. The broth was less spicy and more watered down almost. The tortilla was perhaps prepared differently today much different than what we are used to. The smoked steak special had just the right amount of smoke flavor but overcooked in that we ordered it medium rare but it arrived partly medium to medium well in other parts. The NY steak was prepared better in that I ordered it medium but it arrived medium rare which was actually a nice mistake. It was perfectly cooked and it was very flavorful. Our waiter found his groove and we received good service. We had our drinks replenished and the ambiance was good. All in all, we were only disappointed with the tortilla soup.

Gluten free menu small. No seafood. No torilla chips with appetizers, so no appetizers. No burgers. Very limited menu. Pretty empty at dinner hour. Waiter was great. Friendly and concerned. Special on this Monday was burgers and beer. Guess neither. They use a gluten based liquid smoke so there famous smoked sirloin is out. They did have a fireplace with a roaring fire. They do try to keep the place clean and tidy. The steak was prepared perfectly. Overall a good dinner

How does a steakhouse mess up cooking steak to temperature?! My wife ordered a NY medium and they served it to her blue. It was sent back to be cooked. My ribeye came out perfect med-rare. I was almost finished with my steak when the strip finally arrived.then my wife's salad and my soup arrived. -1 star for cooks unable to cook a steak properly the first time. -1 star for server giving us salads and soups after the entree -1 star for manager not touching table even after two screw ups. -update 8/23 received a message from Justin P. apologizing for my experience. Ive upped my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars.

Terrible. Horrible. Very unsatisfied. Had such an awful experience I still can't bring myself to write a full review that won't be tacky. I will wait to write a complete review, but it may take me some time. In the meanwhile I will need to get a true steak fix.. Maybe by then I can be civil. Two words-the worst!

Well, I've had sub-par experiences here before and this was no different. (My co-workers chose the place, so I can't take the heat for that!) I thought that maybe the food in the past hadn't been great because I'd made a mistake and not ordered a steak. Well, I am sitting here with a serious tummy ache while I write this and my opinion of TLC has only gotten worse. My steak was SO tough (I ordered a sirloin medium-rare). My steak came out rare, but I don't really mind. My food also came out COLD as can be. Half our table was served and then 10 minutes later my food came out...cold. I didn't bother sending it back since I was so hungry, but I only got through about a third of my steak and a couple of bites of cold mashed potatoes. Our server kept joking that we could add more gratuity than the 18% that was added to our bill...like she joked and hinted more times than was funny and made everyone feel awkard. Service was not mediocre and food was bleh. I definitely won't be back.

Service is always outstanding, food was delicious. Had the smoked steak on one business trip and the ribeye on another, love the tortilla soup as well. I loved that my server on both trips made recommendations of things to try and the dessert was outstanding.

We came in after traveling 8 hrs and sat at bar. Nice casual atmosphere with TV for sports fans. Friendly staff, good prices. We had steaks, they were good and cooked to our liking. Fresh baked sourdough bread, and quest dip. Presentation needs some work. But overall good food and service . We will go again in future.

Food is a joke...our server was nice and very helpful. But the food? I've had better pre-packaged salads from 711. I would NEVER normally stop to eat at a place like this in California (where I'm from). It was thanksgiving and we were driving to Santa Fe and nothing else was open,so....I don't plan on frequenting this establishment anytime soon. Had a blood orange margarita and that was pretty good! So I guess my experience wasn't all that bad.

Just don't eat here. It's so terribly disappointing, with just a few positives thrown in there for effect... I've been here a few times - lunch and dinner. Only once was I satisfied with the service and food. Today I ordered their signature smoked sirloin. I've gotten it before. It was terribly overcooked (my friend also ordered medium rare and her's was beautifully red, mine was not). The garlic mashed potatoes are good. Amazingly, the roasted broccoli crowns have nearly twice the fat grams as the garlic mashed potatoes! Everything is really overpriced. Happy Hour is until 7PM, available throughout the whole restaurant, and isn't half bad. They have some local beers but they really tout "local Texas" beer Shiner. Our service was soooooooo sloooooow. Slow service seems to be common here from my experience. My friend ordered dessert. It was like $8.50 after her ice cream addition and wasn't all that special in her opinion. Alternatives? Well, the adjacent Chama River isn't any better. Nick & Jimmy's just down the way is not so hot either. Outback is across the freeway, as is Texas Roadhouse. Stick with one of those for your beef overdose.

Worse experience ever! Hostess forgot to write our name on the waiting list, we waited for 30 minutes till she wrote our name down. Then waited another 20 mins to get seated, when we got seated there were 6 tables nearby empty and clean... Why did it take forever to get us seated??? . Food took over a hour to get to us and they forgot our bread and sides for two meals. Waitress checked on us twice! Stood around laughing and talking with another waiter the entire time. I had to get out of my seat to grab steak sauce from another table then look for tabasco sauce.... Not to mention, can I PLEASE get a refill on my tea next time? If I do decide to go back! Spent $78 to get treated this bad. $1 menu sounds good right about now.

Hey Everyone, if you reading this post, please don't waste your money and time in this place. After i read some bad reviews, i tought is no way an texas steak house will have bad food. Well it did, we ordered steaks and baby ribs, was tasteless no flavor at all. The waiter saw the full plates and appologise for the food on it. The manager stop by to check on us, we told him about the quality of the food and he took one of the meals out of the bill. We left very dissappoited. Don't give me wrong the staff were great, but the food was the reason for me and my girl to went out.

Their "signature" smoked sirloin had a distinctive smoky taste. They offered straight horseradish to go with the steak, which is a plus in itself, but actually the meat was best by itself without condiments. Enchiladas and spicy caesar salad were fine, unremarkable. Apple cobbler dessert was good. Service was good. It was a very positive experience *EXCEPT* for the margaritas, which were lemonade-strength. This is a nice place to go if you don't plan to drink.

The place I go for my steak and wedge salad fix. The smoked sirloin is also very good.
I was all excited to enjoy my birthday dinner at one of my favorite spots just to be highly disappointed to the point of no return. First I knew there was a menu change because the potato soup I love was missing. I ordered my usual sirloin steak add grilled shrimp. My steak was over done and grilled shrimp underdone. I asked for the yummy butter with garlic and spices to dip my shrimp but was told they had a citrus cilantro sauce now. It was served cold and inedible for me. The shrimp was served with small pieces of red onions and a giant half slice of jalapeño. I don't like any type of chili with my food and I'm not sure what was on my grilled shrimp. I ended up giving them to my nephew. My overdone steak was unfinished by me. The sweet baked potato which I was charged 99 cents more for was ok. Lost its warmth waiting for more cinnamon butter. Best thing for me was the sweet tea. I'm now mourning the loss of my favorite restaurant!

Started the night off by walking to a dirty table. That set the tone for the rest of the meal. I was given two cups, both with lipstick smudges all over the rims. The silverware I received was dirty and the fork mangled. My friend and I both ordered steaks. The ribeye was tough and extremely overcooked. I ordered the Porterhouse and was given a lukewarm steak and a splash of butter on top. Sadly, I ate it. The service was non existent as we both went the entire meal without seeing the waitress. Luckily, she left a pitcher of water for us to refill. I didn't think I worked here, but I guess I do because I did all the work for this meal.

This is a pretty good steak house, I have never had any entrees but their steaks. I do not go to Seafood places and order hamburgers. I hadn't been to TXC for about 6 months, it looks like they have a new menu, and some things have changed, but they still nail steaks. I usually go with the rib-eye, but I've had the smoked sirloin, prime rib, and filet as well. The 9oz filet my father ordered this time seem a bit on the small side, we mentioned it to the manager but he assured us it was right... they always seem small to me next to a 20oz ribeye. Salads are basic but fresh, the Steak Soup was off the menu, but the server said it would be back in a few weeks. Beer was a let down and cost them a star. It was served in a chilled glass that had not been properly cleaned and was somewhat flat, I suspect it's not stored properly.

This restaurant pretty much ruined my mother-in-law's birthday. We showed up on a Saturday night without a reservation because I don't consider this a terribly fancy restaurant, there were only 5 of us, and it was only 6:30pm. The lobby was quite crowded when we arrived, and I was concerned about how long we might have to wait for a table, but when the hostess told me it would be 35-40 minutes, I thought that would be fine (although I normally would have gone elsewhere if it weren't what my MIL wanted.) After about 55 minutes of waiting to be seated (and watching several parties that got there after we did going to their tables), my husband inquired about why we had been waiting so long. The hostess was borderline hostile to him and snarkily replied that those people had reservations. Okay, that's fine, but if you had a lot of reservations for 7pm, why did they tell me 35-40 minute wait? After waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes, we left and took her to the Furr's nearby, because it was way too late in the evening to expect to be seated at another decent restaurant. Everyone at Furr's was very friendly to us, and not a single one of them FLAT OUT LIED to us about how long we would have to wait or got snarky with us. I wouldn't have been angry about the incident if they hadn't lied about the wait time in the first place, I would have left when told it would be more than an hour before we could be seated. Which they could easily have done, since they must have known they had several reservations. The crappy attitude from the hostesses and the managers made the situation even worse. I can't even comment on the food, since we never got to eat. Furr's was pretty good, though. So, thanks for ruining a family birthday celebration with your crappy hostesses.

This place has gone down hill the minute they got new management. Use to love it but me and my boyfriend went for dinner and the food was horrible his steak was gross my burger was nasty. The service was great but the food sucked. Such a shame because you use to be so good! Not going to be returning at all!

Traveling through we saw this place off the highway near our hotel and thought we'd give it a try. Ordered to go so I cannot vouch for the service while sitting but from what I can tell it was great. I was offered a drink while I was waiting for our order and I didn't have to ask for a single condiment or plastic ware because they already had it in there. The smoked sirloin was great and the wedge with blue cheese was awesome. I definitely recommend this place! I also stopped by the Chama River Brewing Company for a growler to accompany the steak and it was a great match!

How do you make baby back ribs tough and chewy? TXC knows how. How do you make bbq chicken bland and uninteresting? TXC knows how. How do you make mashed potatoes that are decent? TXC knows how. How do you put out service that measures up better than the food coming out of the kitchen? TXC knows how. I had one of those dining experiences here when you are with other people and you don't really want to send your food back but you wish you had. Who knows how to put out a dining experience like that? TXC knows how! Who might have gotten one star if it weren't for the service? TXC knows!

This place is amazing! Such a wonderful staff. On our road trip we decided to have stop and have some steak. This place hit the spot. We arrived on a Friday night around 7pm. The parking lot was full and we thought there would be a long waiting period. Nope. My family was sat in 5 mins. Lucky us. The service was quick. My wife and I ordered the same steak. But the waitress made an error and the wrong steak came out. No big deal, it happens. The waitress apologized and admitted it was her fault. That was nice of her to say. The steak came out quick and she got to eat with rest of us. The food was amazing and everything was perfect. Please try the southwest rice. My kids of course ate of the kids menu and I was able to get them a sundae for just $0.50! Mind blowing! When the check came I was informed that they comp me for the steak! That was a $20 steak! I didn't not expect that. I would have been happy to pay for it seeing how quickly they corrected the mistake. Again this place is friendly and the food is amazing. You must check it out!

The hubby and I went for dinner. The atmosphere is very nice. Our waiter was excellent and the food was even better. We had the Cajun ribeye with the loaded garlic mashed potatoes. Delish!!! Also, for our military peers, they offer a 25% discount which is pretty much unheard of. We will be back!! Yum :)

Very nice reasonable prices. I recommend the smoked sirloin simply Good! I don't know about the other steak places but this one was a great first choice!

My only recommendation would be for them to close on Thanksgiving. We arrived a little over an hour before their posted closing time and were greeted by the hostess looking at her watch and grimacing. That should have been our first clue this wasn't going to be a festive experience. We then made our second mistake by ordering the wood roasted chicken (I suspect the wood may have been a better choice). The chicken was so dry, neither of us were able to finish it. My last mistake was trying to be pleasant as we were leaving and saying "thank you" to a totally unresponsive manager and hostess. I would like to think this was not their normal fare or demeanor, but I can't imagine we'll give it another try.

There is a reason this place ain't crowded like TXRH. Service was decent but the food was awful. My steak was tough, the potato was bland, and the salad wilted. The ambiance isn't even that nice. I'm not sure how this place is still open because there are two better steak places across the highway.

Love it, love it, love it. We usually sit up at the bar as to lessen the noisy crowd (yelling children). Bartenders very friendly without being in your face the whole time. Kitchen cooks my well-done steak perfect EVERY time. Just a little pink- please not burned! Love the lettuce wedge option, ranch dressing please! Mmmm! Plus who can't resist the little shoestring fries?! Can spear a bunch with your fork and dip 'em in the ketchup or ranch and Mmmm!

I rated this based on what i expected which was another Texas Roadhouse but I think it was better, better choices and pretty good food. Not the best I ever had that much is for sure but def better than Texas Roadhouse (easily) in my opinion. I order steak, chicken and quail and although small I love the Quail the best.

honestly, the only reason we decided on this restaurant was because it was across the street from our hotel, town place suites. the staff was great. we ordered spinach artichoke dip and it had jalapenos in it. too hot for us so we reordered some sliders. for dinner we had a mushroom burger, ribeye and a trio combo plate. everyone really enjoyed their meals. our party was sat at the first table by the entrance. the only crappy part about our experience was the second hand cigarette smoke from the outside made it's way into the restaurant. that sucked. all in all it was a good experience.

Sat at a bar table. Server was pretty good. This was my second time here and I think this was a better experience then the last time I was here. The tortilla soup was a lite too salty but that could just be a personal preference. Ordered the pepper crusted rib eye, wanted it med well but it was more towards the well side. The mash potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and the Caesar salad wax actually pretty good. In fact the salad was served on a nice cold plate. Ordered the bread pudding for dessert but i think that could use a little work. Id say get the basics of the bread pudding right first and then work on making different styles.

PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME! Ok, now Im disappointed with yelp as well bc the minimun star was 1 and I wanted to give NO star to this place! Me and my bf went there mainly bc of the name, so we could eat some texas steak, before going we saw the reviews here on yelp, many bad reviews but even then we decided to give it a try, to be honest I wish I had stopped at subway, I would have eaten better and spent less money. Dont get me wrong I dont mind paying for good food, but for the food we got, it was not worth a penny. My bf ordered baby back ribs, it came the plate full of french fries and the ribs itself had no seasoning besides de bbq sause which tasted like the one we buy at the supermarket. I have ordered a boneless ribeye with cajun seasoning, sauce ranchero, roasted garlic as toping, and some cheesy jalapeno side, let me tell you, there was no seasoning on it, the sauce tasted like tomato sauce, the roasted garlic no comments, and the chessy jalapeno side did not taste like cheese or jalapeno or anything, I still have no idea what that was. The food was tasteless, not worth my time to go in and try. Oh I almost forgot I also ordered a iced tea and sent it back it was horrible. At the end of the meal we complained and the manager said he was going to send an email! WTH email where??? Bc the problem is clearly on the kitchen. He saw my bf didnt eat his food so he took his plate out of the bill, and appoligized. The staff is good and friendly but the food NO WAY!

I like it, I love it, I want some more of it! Great service. Good food. Delicious drinks. I went there with a party of 6. Our waiter was great, didn't mess up any of our orders. For all you serious meat eaters out there, order your steak like you want it and thats how you get it, no over or under cooking here.

(5)Maria G.
Consistent big box restaurant. The smoked sirloin is really good but isn't always the temperature desired since it is cut from a larger portion. The pulled pork stuffed jalapeños are fun to try and have a great smoked flavor. If you are looking for predictable this is a good stop.
(4)John H.

93 cent beer........ 7.99 steaks ..... A good cheap lunch, woot....... Those prices were for today only....

(1)Tony S.
(4)Elise C.
(4)Jane W.
I can't recommend this restaurant. I had the salmon with rice and asparagus and all I tasted was salt. It was truly horrible.
(1)Cheryl L.
Best service I have had in Albuquerque. Waiter was amazing. The steaks were hot and perfectly cooked. I couldn't ask for a better dinner out.
(5)Janet G.
Really enjoyed eating here. I had the steak and wedge salad with blue cheese. It was really nice. Also had the sticky toffee pudding. Very good. Had nice attentive service. Hope to go back again soon.

(5)Marshal R.
(2)Dee B.
(3)Matt B.
Not sure how you can give this place anything but 5 stars. I always get the smoked sirloin with lobster tail, spicy cesar salad and loaded baked potato. Oh...and the pale ale!
(5)Wes T.
(4)Joe S.
(5)Lori G.
(1)Tory M.
(3)Ricky M.
(2)Jonathan B.
(4)Bambee S.
(4)Cyrillie C.

(1)Benjamin P.
Hoppin place on a friday night. Got the smoked sirloin and it was unlike anything I have had before. Amazing. Service is quick and the prices are reasonable for a steakhouse.
(4)Ashley E.

If you want big meat Potato sides with coldslaw Open your mouth wide (Good, I guess, if you're into lots of dead animal on your plate. Not cheap, though.)

Service is very good. The steaks are good, we have had better but also had worse. We are thankful that they are open on Thanksgiving day.
