Great place to eat pub food and watch the games. They have enough TVs for every game, so you will definitely find your sport and team. The food portions are also pretty good as well as the taste.

I have always loved Stone Face Tavern. It's been a great local spot that helps us stay away from any chains in town. But when I attempt to bring in new business for your restaurant and your bartender refuses to serve me, let alone make eye contact with me. I will immediately walk out. Not only was I upset but the restaurant was practically empty and another patron was enraged at service as well. I had been hoping to bring my family in for so long & now they will more than likely never go because of this experience. Thank you Stone Face Tavern. I'll miss your amazing food & drinks.

Great bar! We have to stop here every time we visit albuquerque. The girls are awesome, the cook is even better. Great local spot to grab a drink and watch the volleyball games!

On a recent trip to Albuquerque, I was out after dinner looking for a place to find a drink. After some Yelping, I was happy to come across Stone Face. As far as first impressions go, the place is pretty visually intense. Since I was only looking for a bar, I was pretty blown away when I pulled in since it looks like a full-on medieval castle. Badass. Inside was as awesome visually as the outside. The decor matches the medieval theme, and the place is very well maintained. Once I sat down at the bar, I initially saw only a couple beers on draught so I was a bit disappointed. When I asked the bartender what beers they had, I was stoked when she said ".. a lot..." and handed me a beer menu. That's when I saw the huge rack of taps in the back of the bar. Score. The menu was robust, well organized by type of beer, and they even had my favorite - Stone IPA. Now we're talking. I hung out for a bit and had a few drinks, talked with the bartenders for a while, and I have to say all in all it was a great place to have some drinks. So to summarize, awesome place, cool decorations, great beer, and great staff. Next time I'm in town I'll come back for sure.

I love this place. Great Tavern. The staff are all awesome. The manager is very hands on and very friendly. The bands are top notch. The beer is awesome. My favorite place to chill !!

We met up with friends for some drinks and something to eat. They have a great draft beer selection, but the two beers I tried were both flat and not very cold (kind of like having a beer in a pub in England!) We ordered the buffalo wings and the bison burger (or perhaps it was also a buffalo burger?) - the wings had kind of a heavy breading on them and the buffalo sauce was something that came on the side - which we didn't really expect. The burger had a nice crust on the outside and was still pink on the inside, but it tasted very strongly of the oil/grease they had put on the cooktop to cook it - which was a shame. The fries were good. I am not sure I would choose to head back here given our experience - it wasn't exactly cheap and so I think there are better places in town to try.

Came in because it's Friday and I was thirsty for a cold beer, sat at the bar for 5 minutes without service then I talked to a manager and said I was thirsty and didn't get service so I'm leaving now and he said okay good thanks.

If you are looking for a variety of beer, great food, and a laid back environment this is the place to go! This is one of my regular bars to come to and I have never been disappointed :)

Stoneface is a nice place to go. You have your yuppies, your bikers, and your old guys. It's a mix of the whole bunch. The servers are always friendly, and on average aren't too bad to look at. I've been coming here for several months and haven't had a bad experience. If you are looking for a chill experience, and like good beer, come to Stoneface!

good food great beer weird customer base. there were drunks, bikers, volleyball athletes, old people in their 60's, business professionals in suits, meth heads, pot heads, ect. service could have been better.

Eh. Not bad, not great. Not sure I would want to go there at night, but we went for lunch and it was fine. A bit pricey. $67 for four for lunch seems a bit much when it's just a sports bar. The fries were pretty good, nice and salty like my man likes. The nachos were decent, a bit heavy on the green chilis, so quite spicy - if you like that, then woo hoo - perfect for you. But we all felt it was a bit much. Based on that, I opted to get no chilis on my sandwich. They REALLY like green chilis at this place. The waitress was nice and attentive. The atmosphere was typical sports bar with a bit of biker-ish attitude thrown in, but nothing negative at all. The place was fairly clean and had cool decorations. It's big and has plenty of seating. Lots of tvs for those who care about sports (not me) and a cool huge bar. Overall, don't regret going, not in a hurry to return, wouldn't balk at an invite though. Maybe at night...

StoneFace has great bar food. I think their drinks are okay. Their hard liquor and mixed drinks can sometimes seem watered down.
(3)Wes T.
Not bad. This place is like a "friendly" biker bar. It's got a rough edge to it, but it doesn't seem the kind of place where you fear getting shanked going into the men's room. Bars inside and out, the inside bar has more beer selection. The outside bar has the patio. Food is OK. Salsa was meh. I'd stick with "hard to fuccup" food like hamburgers.
(3)Joey H.
Horrible! We are from Denver and went to this bar to get away from the chains. At least the chains are clean and have some standard for service. The service at Stoneface is stone age slow. The bathrooms are filthy and the roof leaks. I had a stream of water hit me on the head while I was sitting at the table. The manager moved our group to another table and when I asked him if he was going to comp the group anything for our unpleasant experience, he asked if it was acid rain. Ever heard of taking care of the customer so they will come back and not rip you on Yelp? They haven't. If I could give negative stars, I would. The best advice I have about this place is DON'T DO IT!
(1)Michael C.
I think this bar earns an extra star on its unexpected location alone. I like that you could pass by it a hundred times and think nothing of it, but when you go inside you see that it is in fact a legit establishment with a great vibe. I think the review by Elizabeth H. shows how naive she is to the bar scene in Albuquerque. Well, unless if by worst she means not over crowded with twenty and thirty somethings wearing their baseball caps at a 45 degree angle. I guess if you have that expectation of an establishment you might think this is in fact the worst bar in town, and you also might think that crack cocaine seems like a good idea too.

Good food, servers actually remember your name//drink (I don't know if thats a good thing) and they are really quick. I go every Wednesday night for Sand Volleyball, I prefer Sneakers bc its not to closed in and you can get service and drinks right next to the courts with great seating.
(3)Alicia C.
Edit: The last two times I've been here its been dead. Really strange. I won't be back... I have never had a bad time here. It gets packed so go early if you can to get a seat. Lots of seating space. Have been here for volleyball, a bachelorette party, and even once saw a polka band place. The crowd is always good and the staff...okay they can be a bit snobby, but still are fairly nice.
(2)Scott M.
Went there for lunch with some colleagues. Service was decent. The view was better. The burgers were good. Looks like a good place to hang out after work. The have a sand volleyball court for leagues. The atmosphere is pretty cool. I will definitely be back to try the other bar food and draft beers after work. It's definitely a place to check out.

I enjoyed myself. Went right in, the decor and ambience is awesome. Reminds me of a dark, christmas lit room. Very big, and spacious. Sat at the bar. One guy just ignored us entirely. Then came this bubbly little bartender who couldnt keep her eyes off my boyfriend. lol. The service was quick. But when i asked for a tequila sunrise, someone forgot to put in my grenadine. hahaha. so i bet she was new. But with a happy little face like that, who can get mad? lol. the drink was extremely stiff, so ill be back. Oh, and when my mother in law asked to buy some of the shirts they had on display, all of a sudden. the dude behind the bar was smiling and coo'ing like a baby. bahahahaha. cool shirts, said, "the best candy comes from strangers" and some other stuff. ill be back

Came here for lunch on a Saturday with some friends. I can see that this place might be a little crazy at night, but it was great when I was there. Their beer selection is awesome and includes at least a few local beers. Their nachos were good and HUGE (the half order was enough for 4 of us for an appetizer). The sandwiches are quite good and the fries are great. They have dart boards and lots of tvs for the games. In fact, we asked them put up a particular game, and they tried really hard to get it, but ultimately didn't have that channel. No worries, they were really nice to look up the channel for us and try. I will DEFINITELY be back for "corset Thursdays"! :)

Visited Stone Face Tavern the first time to consider this neighborhood place as a new hang out. Arrived, seated ourselves on a non-busy evening and waited 10 minutes for a server to take our drink order. Waited another 10 minutes for a second server to ask if we ordered. In the meantime, our first server delivered drinks to other tables while the 3 bartenders talked and joked with each other because it was so slow. Watched as second server talked to first and pointed toward us. Waited another 10 mins never to get drinks. Put on our jackets to leave and had server rush over to apologize. Left after spending 30 minutes there on a slow night and never being served. This place lost a potential regular. Nothing special for atmosphere and service is terrible! Don't waste your time.

Great food with a super beer and whiskey selection. The service is great and the servers are even better. Bikini top Wednesdays are a perfect day to have a great lunch. This place even has a package store!

I have been going to Stone Face weekly for two months because I play sand volleyball. I love the volleyball, but my team decided last week to never eat/drink in the restaurant again. Unless you are a group of middle aged men or friends with the waitstaff, the service is TERRIBLE. Last week our waitress (Melanie) took 15 minutes to bring us a menu and got mad when we went to the bar to get one. She messed up several orders, gave us lots of attitude, and paid plenty of attention to the two tables on either side of us. My friends and I are good tippers and not generally rude people, so I'm not sure why she treated us so badly. She was basically the last in a long line of terrible waitresses we have had there. From now on we will get our drinks somewhere else after playing volleyball. There is nothing special enough about the menu to warrant such awful service. When we used to eat on the patio the service was much better but they only serve 6 or so beers on tap outside. So basically, go somewhere else.

This is seriously the worst bar I've ever been to in 13 years of being able to get into bars. The bathrooms are disgusting, the service is consistently horrible, the music is awful and the food is mediocre at best. We came in on a Saturday night between shift change and got treated like it was our fault there was no waitress. Oh- and they don't split tickets. I know the volleyball crowd is a big draw to this place, but save yourself the money and go to another one of our local bars/eateries where the drinks, service and food are better.
(1)Peter I.
Service was ok. Just keep track of your drinks, the waitresses will try to sneak drinks on your tab that you did not order, especially after you had a few. I was warned by other locals and experienced it personally. The waitress stole a $20 from us and said we never gave it to her. We are great tippers, needless to say she didn't get one this time as she helped herself. Never going back there again.

Discrimination!!!!!! They have a selection of beers but service is slow. The inside is dark, divey.
(1)Carl P.
I really like this bar - although I can't really explain why. It's dark, the crowd is a strange mix of folks, and the food isn't that good. There are always great drink specials, and the beers are cheap even when not on special. Like I said, I can't tell you why, but I recommend making the trip.

Nice big place. Plenty of serving staff. Drink prices tadd high. Did not stay to eat. Bartender checked on drink status often but not friendly. Bartender talked with staff at the waitress station more than the clients. (and no there were no drinks being made) Appetizer-chicken platter real tasty. Well lit. You could see the entire place and anyone in it. Music in background is balanced enough not to over power that you can not talk to any one but still hear it. Traffic flow to sit at the bar a little odd. Front entrance limited parking and the back entrance is kind of hidden behind the package store of the same name. Two sets of mens restrooms. One is immaculate and you can see some effort and money spent. The other needs a little help. Actually detracts from the overall appearance of the establishment. Finally ate there the 4th visit at late lunch debated between steak sandwich and the Philly cheese. Waitress Dianne was patient and knowledgeable. Diane steered me towards the steak and it was excellent. Fries slightly over cooked but the meal worked out.

I like this place. We stopped here upon getting into town after driving all day. I was surprised at the great beer selection. I can't talk for others but we had awesome service on a Friday during Happy Hour. Asked my wife about the women's bathrooms and she said they were spotless and super nice. We will stop back in after hitting the breweries in town. About the only thing odd was being carded at 49 YO, lol.

The green chile, bacon cheeseburger is one of a kind! I will be back to taste it again!

I love this place!! I always pay a visit when I'm in town. It's very spacious. The crowd is always friendly. Service is great, and for bar food, I am really impressed. I especially love the nachos. A Half order is enough to feed 4 people, they're amazing! I'm not sure what some of these people are ranting about, because I have been coming here over the years and have never had a bad experience. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because I will admit that sometimes when there are performers, it can be a little too loud... I love loud music, but, it can be a little on the obnoxious side. Other than that, I love this place and so do all of my local friends!!!
(4)Ricky M.
Good food surprisingly and great selection of beers on tap and bottled. Atmosphere is an older/biker crowd that plays classic rock. Bartenders are consistent and speedy not to mention cute but drinks and food are pricey.
(3)Stephen P.
Darts, antediluvian turrets, live blues, happy hour, a steady influx of affable bikers, an overly full bar and a waitstaff as attentive as you are willful... all in a seedily lit bar with tons of taps and a pleasant corona of smoke licking the attendant gargoyles... A great place to catch a brew and take in some local color - and at a reasonable rate... but unless you're riding a bike or catch a major break parking is a kick in the teeth... the food is average and I would recommend getting grub elsewhere - you don't come here to eat... Stone face is a superb pub...
(4)Elizabeth H.
This is the worst bar I've been to in Albuquerque. AC DC is on repeat, like annoyingly. The bathrooms are disgusting and have hookers living in them. It's like a scary titty bar, with no titty dancers. The greasy pub fare is alright, I have a few 'burque native friends that swear by the chili cheese fries. It's dark and depressing. I dread an invite to HH here. Do yourself a favor a try some place chill, with good music and daylight like the nearby Hallenbrick.

Stone Face Tavern (SFT) is an A-OK place. My Man and I will go there sometimes for spontaneous dates. He says their happy hour prices are good for the drafts. We usually share an appetizer or meal. If we meet some friends there, I like to share the nachos with everyone. When it is just my hubby and I, our default starter order is the appetizer combo. When one of us needs to eat, we have enjoyed the burgers. I need to explore more of their grill options. Stay tuned for more pictures and tips to come. The restrooms on the north side are significantly better than the ones located on the south end of the tavern. If anything the south side restrooms ought to be upgraded to match those on the opposite end. An upgrade will help SFT earn at least one and a half more stars. The north side restrooms are better because they are bigger, have better "sinks," and the paper towel dispenser is usually filled. The pictures also add a nice touch. Thank you, SFT, for always supplying tissue. SFT also has volleyball courts and a package liquor store. Although I have not used their volleyball courts, they look like a lot of fun for the people that do use them. I wonder if they have an open time where you can just go there for food, volleyball fun, and drinks. SFT ought to advertise that if this is so. Some evenings my husband and I may stop at the package liquor store for some of the locally bottled beers. The store employees are quick and kind, and just as important the store always seems clean. I want to give a shout-out to all of the SFT employees for being on-task and nice.

Quality food, plenty of beer, beautiful ladies and they always got the game on. Music ain't half bad either. Recently made this my local watering hole. Know you can always have a good time here.
(5)Chris B.
Came to get a buffalo chicken sandwich. Google told us they have one of the best in town. Google was very wrong! We had terrible service. We ordered an appetizer and two chicken sandwiches. We watched people that came in after us get large plates of nachos while we waited for our cheese sticks. We finally asked the waitress twice about them. They then came out fresh with our cold sandwiches. The sandwiches were not edible. After only taking a bite. We decided to leave. We asked to speak to a manager. After ten minutes we asked again. We were told that the manager was bar tending.l and he would get to us when he had time. Finally a different manager came over and took some of the food off the bill. I would give them one star but the second waitress was decent.

Cold beer and a shot. nice place to stop on a cold ride staf is friendly all sorts of festive in here
(3)Ling Tzu W.
This is your average after work pub. The beer selection is decent and the atmosphere is comfortable for a get together. Two out of towners that went with me remarked on how good their Salmon is. I enjoyed the outdoor sitting area and watching the volleyball game and I was away from the sun. Indoor sitting is a little dark so if given the chance I always choose to sit outside. Great place to watch sports games.
