I should start by saying the dinner menu is a bit expensive considering what's on the menu, but if money isn't a deterrent, enjoy yourself. The seating is good, and they have a fully stocked bar which seems to get more business than the restaurant itself. Nice view of the pool depending where you are seating (in the winter, the pool is frozen over because man it gets cold in the desert!) But I stared out into the nothing ness anyway just because, well, I could. I was staying at the hotel the past few nights, and the elevator poster raved about the menu (as well the main chef is known to make killer pastrami sandwiches), so thought I'd give it a go, not only that, it was late at night and I was really hungry! I got the filet, about $30 for that. I asked for it cooked medium with pink inside, and it was perfectly prepared. That earned my 3 stars right away. The mashed potatoes were good, the bread was freakin amazing, like butternut squash bread or something, it had this yellowish orange color, oh it was so tasty I had two baskets of it, not kidding! On my own! What a pig! The waiter admitted he loved it too and always scores some extra to take home at night. And the dessert, I had the pie with ice cream, and they gave me a healthy size scoop. Yum! The wait staff and hostess were respectful and courteous yet had a good sense of humor, so didn't come off as pretentious as you'd expect. Yeah, I can't get over the $50 bill for one person, but then that includes my bottle of Guinness and tip, so yeah, hotel food, expensive, get over it, but yes this was good hearty food, and yes even if I was staying at some other place down the street, I'd come here for a good dinner. If you're ever near the ABQ airport and, say you won some money at one of the casinos, and now you want a place to go for drinks or dinner, this is a good bet (dang, another pun. hehe)

Basically, what all the other reviews say about this place is very accurate- I know, not super helpful. What I would like to add that I hope will be of value, is that the appetizers are ALL ridiculously over-priced for what you get. Do not bother with any of them except maybe the green chile stew, which is sometimes excellent and other times just ok, but even at just ok it is appropriately priced. Every other appetizer is a complete rip-off! The best deal on the salad is the torched salmon salad. The Monterrey chicken sandwich is also a pretty good deal, considering. Avoid the southwestern salad which is nothing more than a crappy side salad with black beans and tortilla strips, unless you add a protein to it and then it gets into back into the ridiculous expensive price range. The burritos and enchiladas are also a decent value. The bar isn't bad but the bartenders tend to be hit or miss. Especially the male bartender that usually works there. You come to expect a bartender to be sociable and generous in exchange for a generous tip, which I'm usually obliged to give; not this dude, he acts like he has never gotten a decent tip in his entire life! And with an attitude like that, he never will.

Pretty typical hotel food. The wait staff are pleasant, if not a bit always a bit behind, the food is average good, and the prices range from reasonable to expensive. I say at the bar, hap an Isotope beer, the rojo carnitas, and left satisfied. There are other places to eat nearby, but if you're staying at the Sheraton and don't feel like driving, this is a decent choice.

Let me start off with do not be in any kind of a hurry. Having said that, seriously, clear your entire schedule for the night it's going to be a sit in. While I felt as if I was trying out for a role as a cigar store Indian standing patiently at the sign that says please wait to be seated we are finally approached by a woman who proceeds to tell us that it will be awhile before they will help us and we just can't get to you right now we are just to busy! These were the first words from this woman's mouth. She proceeds to tell us that there are only two people working. It was apparent at this point that this woman had been denied the gift of intelligence probably since birth. As I gazed around at the restaurant's tables there were only a handful that were occupied and there was several openings still at the bar. We also counted four more personnel clearly participating in restaurant activities. If you get the food it is reasonably decent but for the love of god do not hold your breath, you won't make it. It is over priced. The setting of the restaurant and bar is fantastic. It looks and feels cozy and warm. It's a shame for all of that to be totally wasted. There is something terribly wrong with the establishment that could be salvaged if the right people took hold. The experience was barely rescued by two evidently devoted employees, Devin and Edwina. Thanx to these two it truly showed who cares about the customers. The older blonde woman that insulted us at the beginning we never saw again. For every patrons sake I hope she was fired or just quit.

We only had drinks here, so we cannot comment on the food. As you would expect, drinks are expensive, but they do pour a stiff drink, so at least you feel like you're getting your money's worth. One of the bartenders was rude and clearly misinformed, as she scolded my husband when he asked for bourbon and she said it was the same thing as whiskey....
