This place is great! I have seen these in Phoenix and heard good things. I am glad Rita's has finally graced the land of the enchantment. It is a fun place, with the employees helping people out with the order in case they it was their first time. I ordered Pineapple Italian Ice with Strawberry Frozen Custard. It was difficult to decide on a good combination... While you wait in quite of a long line, they have samples and the Rita's mascot is there to cheer you up.

Authentic Italian ice, yummy, flavorful and worth the price. The custard added on makes it really rich and creamy. Outdoor seating available! Great location!

Had to let me kids try this since I had these as a kid growing up in Philly. My kids loved the taste. There are a lot more flavors to choose from as compared to when I was a kid. They have green apple, blueberry, chocalte, and mango.

It's a sugar bomb, way too syrupy sweet. Italian ice is supposed to be refreshing, fruity, and light -- not this stuff. Very artificially flavored, the orange tastes orange like... Kinda like an orange Julius. And just for kicks I tried the frozen custard, disappointed again. And for some reason the woman behind the counter was rude to me. Won't be back.

Rita's is a new dessert phenomenon here in Albuquerque. I've had Italian Ice at Pop Pop's and I have also had frozen custard at Freddy's but I have never had the two together. The gelati with ice and custard is quite delicious! Actually their custard is amazing compared to Freddy's custard in my humble opinion. Now I do agree with another Yelper who stated that everything was very sweet and syrupy, loaded with artificial colors and flavors but as an occasional treat I suppose the indulgence is ok. I also agree the prices are quite high for dessert. I can feed my family dinner at Dion's for about the same price I pay for dessert, not cool! I do like the location because it is close to home and not the usual FroYo that seems to be on every corner.

YUM! Both their custard and Italian ice are delicious. I ordered their strawberry custard and it was pretty much gone after five minutes. I sampled their Italian Ice and I actually wanted to order both. Luckily- they actually have that option and apparently, it's amazing. Store was really clean and the employees were eager to answer any questions I had about the custard and ice. I live in this area and it seems like Rita's is constantly packed. I'll come back again!

I feel like the Rita god's finally answered my prayers by opening a location in Albuquerque! If you don't like custard and frozen ice you clearly cannot be trusted, but for the rest of us who crave something sweet and delicious and amazing... you have got to try Rita's.

My husband is from Philly, so we love Rita's! This location lived up to everything we love about Rita's, plus it had inside seating. The water ice was creamy and delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was definitely worth going out of our way to get there!

Italian ice and custard goes together perfectly. Rita is a nice clean establishment, the line was very long but goes by quite fast. They use fresh fruit in the ice, I got black cherry with vanilla custard and there was real chunks of cherries in the ice. The place is quite small so there's only maybe 2-3 tables inside but there are benches out front for when the weather's nice. Will definitely go back to try more flavors and varieties.

Good dessert place. Rita's has a variety of Italian ice flavors, frozen custard, and milkshakes. You can combine Italian ice flavors (two per cup), and Italian ice with custard! Sort of small place, but there are outside tables. Sometimes they change flavors so you can keep coming. It is good enough to eat here.

After a long, eventful day, my boyfriend, his little sister and myself were driving with the windows down, our faces against the crisp, cool spring air. We decided, more or less on a whim, to visit this location. Immediately after walking into the squeaky-clean shop, we were greeted by two personable, hard working women. The countless number of overjoyed faces around us made me eager to get to the counter that contained the dozen or so tubs of flavored ice. We quickly sampled a couple of the appetizing flavors and ordered our desserts. Both of the women accommodated to their customer's needs in the most productive manner, making this visit incredibly rewarding. Oh, and the desserts were beyond satisfying. After this experience, I can definitely say that I will be stopping by again in the near future.

omg omg this place is awesome, all they do is make perfect, delicious fruity italian ice. Once you try it you will be hooked and drive all the way across town to go there. Please patronize this place, it is an east coast based company and we are soooo lucky that someone opened one here in the Q

Overall, not bad. Both the Italian ice and custard is pretty good. Large variety of flavors. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. I am glad a place like this opened in this part of the NE Heights - we are in need of something other that DQ, which is in the same shopping center. Prices are on the high side for what you get. A large is avg size, and after reading the nutritional, I see why less is better! Over 100 grams of carbs in one serving? Yikes! OK, its a treat, now and then is fine. I like the place a lot. I hate where it is located in the shopping center. Its right next door to a popular tavern, bar and grill. The parking is horrible - cramped, crowded, and if you can find a space, dont expect to park near Rita's. But, that may be a good thing, you can burn off the calories and carbs. Its a love/hate relationship I have with Rita. $30 bucks for a family treat, ouch.
