Diabetics at Pizza Hut
Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.
Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:
You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.
Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Great pizza ... the Modena is what I get. Have tried the Alfredo Lasagna too and it was excellent. Great prices on happy hour, good selection of local beers. The halibut was not my favorite. Fish itself was good but the preparation was not the best. Too much pesto, the risotto was drowning in it. Service tends to be on the slow side, but not always. Always busy when I'm there. Popular place.

There is a much better feel at night. And a longer menu. The interior reminds me of a wine cellar and the patio reminds me of a backyard. It's a great place to have a pizza and beer at the end of a work week. The service is inconsistent. Tonight we got a waitress who should not be in a service industry. However the manager and other servers appeared to be friendly. I really like their salads and pizzas. The homemade dressings are perfectly matched with their salad creations. The pizza crust is better than Farina. My favorite dishes are the roasted beet kale salad and the margarita pizza.

I really liked this place...the service is prompt and friendly and the food was phenomenal ..with blue eyes backfilling the low drone of friendly conversation, and the cooks bustling out made to order goodies the atmosphere is welcoming and doesn't feel like you're in Albuquerque let alone right off Paseo del Norte!
(4)Kelly C.
This place is fantastic! Second time here and was just as good the second time around! We loved the service, food and feel of this place! We'll definitely return again and again!

This place is a must go every time I am in Albuquerque. Great Pizza! Great Staff! Great Place! I can't wait for the next time I visit Albuquerque because of places like Pizzeria Luca.

First time here. Had a personal pizza, and a glass of wine. Delicious!! The have a nice bar and my server Kelsey, was great. Very affordable!!! I payed less than I expected. Only downside is it was noisy, but hey that's happy hour.

As the auto-caption on the Yelp star rating says, A-ok. Nothing amazing, nothing special, but a-ok. Went in to burn up a groupon that had expired (they seem to always be running a groupon or living social of some sort) so I ordered a pizza that came to the exact same amount of the voucher value. Pizza was certainly tasty, though an 8mi run in the foothills right before my order may have skewed my taste buds somewhat. It certainly didn't significantly outclass any of the local upscale chains, and def can't compete with Turtle Mountain, sadly. At a price much higher than any of these other choices, I'm afraid it becomes not much more than the "around the corner so we don't have to drive far" option. Table service was friendly and prompt, though I did find it amusing that the server asked if he could get me anything else after bringing the pizza, to which I replied that a fork & knife to serve myself the pizza would be grand.....I would have settled for just a pizza server, but even that was missing. Alas, I guess I'll just chalk it up to first world problems :) Otherwise service was actually impeccable, it's just that for the price, I can't rate the taste any higher than what is available all over town for $10/plate, so paying $12-$16 here only makes sense if the proximity is my only concern.

My bf picked up a pizza for to go tonight.. This is my first review because is really disappointment pizza was born edge doesn't have enough cheese and all for 20 bucks!!! Really ? the price it's no the problem the problem is they don't give you what you pay..!
(1)Renee G.
Extremely overpriced for what you receive. We have eaten here a total of 5 times. Each time our bill for a family of 4 was over $70. That's just not a great value unless the food is fabulous, which it's not. For average pizzas, salad, and pasta the prices are way out of line. It's too bad because it's in a great location. We just can't justify going here anymore.

A.V.E.R.A.G.E The pizza was good, but not memorable at $38 for two pizzas, the service was average and not memorable. I would have given them 3 stars, but the female bartender did not look happy working here. When I asked for paper plates I got a glazed look like I was crazy to ask. She said "I don't think we have any". I had to press further if she would go find out if they had any. She seemed annoyed and left to go ask someone. Upon coming back she said " we don't have any". Then I asked "did you run or you don't carry paper plates in stock for your take out customers?" She replied we don't carry them. I left wondering how a pizzeria that offers take out would not carry paper plates for their take out business. I don't think this place is going to last based on my experience. Too many pizza joints fighting for the same dollar. If your not willing to carry paper plates or have employees that can at the very least fake a smile, you will at some point be selling off your your tables, chairs and pizza oven vs. selling pizza and drinks. I know this review may come across as a bit harsh, but maybe they should consider who's managing the place. I wouldn't go as far as firing that person, but something is not working. If your reading this review and your the manager/owner, please don't fire yourself, just hire a secret shopper company and see firsthand what type of service and food your putting out. Sidenote: What restaurant nowadays doesn't collect at the very least your emaill address? I just spent $38 for two pizzas that probably costed them $3 to 4 each to make and they have no way of marketing to me, really?

Luca seems to have mixed reviews, but our night out w children in tow was superb. We had the toasted ravioli & beet salad to start, both were really yummy. Then my daughter had the Mac n cheese, son had cheese pizza, I had the linguine n clams w red sauce, my hub had the filet mignon. Everything was good - AND - they subbed a salad for his garlic mash no problem. My clams w red was absolutely delicious, maybe a little too much sauce, but it was GOOD sauce, and perfectly spicy! Our waitress was on point. We sat outside and relaxed, but I have to say the service was great, the food was great, and we will definitely be back! (I must try the carpaccio and drink mas vino to good ol' Franky!) A very pleasant surprise.
(4)Trish N.
Such great food and great service! We sat at the bar and the service was awesome and food was yummy! I had a kale chef salad that was great!
(4)Keira M.
I want to really give this 2 stars, but I won't. We have been here a few times but will not go back unless it is by default. We went in on Saturday to avoid all the traffic going back to Corrales. The food was average and the ambiance is pretty authentic. However, when we walked in, it was dead quiet, no music, and no one to greet us. The only reason I knew they were open was that a couple people were sitting at the bar. We had our granddaughter with us who had already eaten but the waitress asked us if she could bring her at least some bread. We said sure. Once we got the bill, we were charged 2.50 for less than a slice of bread. I didn't complain, but sure made a mental note. It did seem like a trivial charge, especially since I made it clear to the waitress that the 3 year old had already eaten. It was just kinda the point. She should've told me there was a charge and let me make that decision.

I have eaten here multiple times. And when this place first opened it was phenomenal. But today was a disappointment. I have always enjoyed the fungi appetizer, they used to be whole mushrooms and were DELICIOUS!! But now they take rehydrated and the sauce is definitely different. Not to mention our server was very impersonal and boarder line rude, and I am saying this as a server who understands sometimes you have a bad day. It just isn't the amazing flavor and atmosphere it used to be.

Fantastic service and fresh well-cooked meals :-)

Took a client for lunch. The food was super tasty and my client wants to take his wife back on a date night. I've gone with my husband a few times as well. The atmosphere is great, tons of movie posters around the restaurant. Good local beer choices on draft and yummy wine to choose from. Nice By the Glass selection. Try the ever so classic Spaghetti & Meatballs, yummo!
(3)Puppy Pop M.
We had a wonderful dinner of green chili lasagna. Service was very good. Only issue we had was with the hostesses, sadly they did not seem to have control of the heavy customer volume. We will definitely return....but maybe not on a Friday night!
(4)Elliot A.
Stopped in to get a 14" personal pizza. Fairly priced at $9.63 (including tax). Upon entering the establishment, I was very impressed. Bar area is gorgeous. Decor is very classy. Just a great atmosphere. A decent selection of draft beers, mainly locals, and a fairly large selection of bottled beers. Tons, and I do mean TONS of wine to choose from. I'm assuming it was the owner that spoke to me. The gentlemen said that their flower and cheese were imported from Naples. Was pretty skeptical about that statement but after tasting the pizza, I put all my doubts aside. Pizza was outstanding. Everything about it stood out. The dough, the sauce, the cheese, the spices. Five out of five. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is because instead of waiting 10 minutes like the gentlemen had told me, I waited almost half an hour. After nearly 20 minutes he told me the chefs had burned the pizza and they had to start all over. Pizza was out about ten minutes later and he gave me a canoli on the house. Did not like waiting that long but I think he made it right. I'll definitely be back!
(4)Rich R.
Great food beer & wine. Awesome wine bar & brick oven pizza is great. Wine bar is great to sit at & watch a game
(5)Tory M.
My rating doesn't change.... but the carpaccio app was excellent, my "Lucas pizza" was great. The dates made to order chicken and shroom pizza, I hear, was great too. Still... 19 bucks for a gourmet pizza is a little steep, especially when its cooked by kids who can barely shave. I'll keep coming. Cause she likes it. We used an amazon local coupon (1/2 price) bit still spent more than making my own and buying a bottle of wine. The wait staff, I will say, is awesome. Very friendly. But under-dressed for the price.
(3)Valerie M.
First time here tonight...can't believe it since we live just up the street. WHY HAVE WE NEVER BEEN HERE BEFORE? My girls and I were very impressed. We just happened to get here about 8 minutes before happy hour ended. Because the prices for.the appetizers were so great we decided to try a few. Speidini, caprese, and ahi tuna. I would like to go into great detail about every single decadent bite, however I am half way into my food coma. They were all magnificent! We shared green Chile chicken Alfredo lasagna and practically liked the plate. The pasta was noticeably fresh, cheesy and spicy. Our little one got her normal pepperoni pizza and loved it. we absolutely will be back...Probably tomorrow it was so good. The ambience is nice and comfortable. Movie posters, music, dim lights and a couple of tvs at the bar. But what really impressed us was the service. We were fortunate enough to have what I consider may be one of Albuquerque's best waitresses. Ginnie was the icing on our cake. What a perfect way to spend date night with my two favorite people.

The Modena pizza and clams are my favorite! Very polite and attentive staff are amazing.
(4)Sara B.
As far as Italian in Albuquerque goes this place is on point. Superb attention to detail on the entrees and appetizers. Great ambiance and really attentive service. I like a little garlic in my Italian sauces and dishes but other then that, really excellent food.
(5)Cassidy L.
I have been here a few times, usually on Sundays. But today we decided to go and the happy hour was from 2-6pm on weekdays. The happy hour menu was extensive with the availability to get toasted ravioli, meatballs, garlic bread, at least 3 different salads, soup, small cheese pizza, etc. There were some drink specials too, but I like to get the Breckenridge Vanilla Porter they have there on tap. The atmosphere is awesome here. I like the seating, the brick walls, the art, and the music they play. I enjoy the variety of the menu and always find something new to try. The servers are always attentive and the restaurant is clean. I see families in there eating and all kinds of different people, on nice days the patio is a nice place to sit. Go try Luca, it's a nice joint.
(4)Jenny M.
We've eaten there before and never have we been treated so poorly. We waited 45 minutes for a cup of soup and a salad! When it had not come out yet we paid for what we did receive and the manager dropped the ticket off and his sorry was as if we did something wrong! This was one of the worst experience ever there! Not sure if wanna return. Sincerely Once loyal customers
(1)Darling D.
This is my favorite italian place. They import their ingredients and make their pasta. It may sound strange but, the green chile chicken lasagna is phenom. The modena pizza covered in garlic pepperoni sausage olives and mushroom is a must order as well. I've liked everything I've tried here, and if you make it for happy hour you are winning! Ps. chocolate cake.
(5)Wes T.
Given my previous experience sitting down to eat here, I thought I'd just stick to take out. I figured it would save me the frustration of their terrible service, while still allowing me to take advantage of what is decent pizza from something that's not a chain or frozen. Lo and behold, I was to be mistaken and foiled by Pizzeria Lucca's inept service once again (and again and again). To be fair, my takeout experience at first wasn't that bad. They brought out the wrong order to me, and I figured it out once I checked the box. Ok, no biggie. Then one time they told me 20 minutes, only to have me wait an additional 15 once I got there. Not good. Then one time we called in, the wife picked up, and they gave HER the wrong order. What has finally broken the camel's back is my most recent experience: Called in, ordered, was told 20 minutes. I know better, so I give 'em 30. Show up, and my order's not even in the system. The guy who took my order had it written on paper and never entered it in. Awesome job, guys. So it's "Come back in 15 minutes" land for me. Ugh. I want to tell you, dear Yelper, that Pizzeria Luca has flaws but that you should try it. Alas, my experience tells me not to tell you to come here. It has an enticing patio, but you're rolling the dice with this place. The food's decent, but the service on both the dine-in and take-out sides for me leaves A LOT to be desired.
(1)Jennine C.
Try this place! Good food. Nice atmosphere. It's comfortable and the staff is friendly.
(4)Mike O.
This place is fairly new, and also fairly impressive. What works best about this place is that it strives to be as authentic to New York style sit-down pizza diners. It misses the mark in several ways (because first and foremost it is 2,000 miles away from the city), but Pizzeria Luca's efforts make it worth the trip. The pies come out on those two-tiered supports, one for the table, and one just above on a second level. Excuse my simple vocabulary, I don't know what these are called. The pies are bake in that style where the crust is thin and loaded with toppings. The inner crust is floppy and needs to be eaten with a knife and fork, and the outer crust is stiff and crunchy, perfect for picking up once you've cut away the middle. It's probably not fair for me to rate the taste of the pizza, since I had a cold, but I could taste some things. The crust was clearly dry and rather unflavored, but had a nice crunch. The sauce was thin but tasty, and the cheese was flavorful and could get greasy if you added some other meat toppings. The basil on the margherita pie was a nice touch, and everyone at the table liked that the most. We also ordered a sausage, pepperoni and mushroom pie that was fine, just a little too greasy. And the pizzas came out on cardboard trays instead of metal ones. This made placing the pizzas on the upper tier precarious, as the weight of the remaining slices could send them tumbling down to the table. It didn't happen, but I'm certain it does--or will. The best part of Pizzeria Luca was how it brought me back to New York like most places in the country do NOT, even though they might advertise themselves as New York style. What you get most is New York street-style pizza, which is large and foldable, but this is the sit-down restaurant style, like Grimaldi's, Lombardi's, John's etc. While Pizzeria Luca isn't even in the same stratosphere as those aforementioned, it gets major props for doing it right in New Mexico!

This is our go to place right now! We have ordered multiple meals on a weekend for take out so we could have both lunch and dinner already made! The meat lasagna is great, and I am awfully picky being from Chicago and part Italian. They have great sandwiches that are healthy, fresh, creative, and well, yummy! I'm not a big fan of the pizza, again the Chicago thing, but I'm sure they are better than most in Albuquerque. Cute environment too!

When we first walked in we got the feeling that they were pompous & arrogant as several servers and the cashier just looked our way with out any recognition what so ever. I guess you have to dress a certain way, After about five minutes the cashier (I believed to be to owner) acknowledged us and said they would be right with us. Food was fast and very tasty. We had the Insalata Caprese for an appetizer and a pizza. Our waitress was about 18 or 19 and was allowed to bring alcohol to the table.

Well, for starters it's probably one of the better pie houses in Albuquerque, period. That said...good pizza is very hard to come by in ABQ. I know there are some other Midwesterners and east-coast dagos who are shaking their head in agreement right now. The service just needs a little tweaking. It's not cool to sit up at the bar and listen to a bartender complain about personal issues...just not why patrons go out to eat... Sorry. Mgmt might want to reel that in a bit. I know People have "days" and no one is perfect, myself included but again, just serve the food and pretend you're happy there are paying guests in your establishment. :).

DELICIOUS!! The whole family came out for this dinner. There were 8 of us- and everything came out just as we ordered it. The food was hot and fresh, and not one person was disappointed. I highly recommend the Caprese salad because the dressing was so yummy. We tried all the different kinds of dishes off the menu; pastas, pizzas, and salads. Don't miss out on this place!

Pizza Luca is a quaint little place with good food. Try their green chili alfredo lasagna. It's delicious!

Good service, nice atmosphere, great food! The Margherita pizza had giant fresh basil leaves and just the right amount of proscuitto. The chicken parmesan was also very good. Local brews served on draft.
