Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I understand that they have a boot problem but that shouldn't take away from the food they make. Food is excellent and homemade. Seems like a family run business, the food and pricing is something you get out of a food truck which I think is great meaning everything is fresh. Now I'm not going to say it's the best place in the world but for the prices and quality Id say it's a good stop off of central. Highly recommend coming here and do not judge this place off the previous reviews as it is just about the parking violations

The food is pretty good, but they are a rippoff. They charge for refills, salsa, sour cream, which I can understand, but we ate lunch their two days in a row, and came back a short time later to get a sub at Jimmy John's and they booted our van.....What a way to treat your customers.

Saw this place off off central and decided to drop in. It's a tiny place with some delicious food. I had the carne con papas tacos and they were delicious. I love how the fry fresh corn tortillas for the taco shells. I absolutely loved these tacos. That's all I ate from there and I recommend you try it also!

Have to dog the customer service, here. It's one thing to be on the phone taking an order while the other customers wait to order at the register. I get that, hey, I've been there, I think it gave me PTSD. In general, most customers will cut ANY business some slack, especially if they can tell the place is slammed. I was cutting slack. Until I (finally) had a chance to order. First off, the place wasn't slammed. School wasn't in session, it was 11 o'clock and I was one of two customers in the joint. The dude behind the register who was probably management, maybe owner, gave me the unique impression that he was somehow doing me a favor by listening to my order. It was that sort of hibrid attitude of "I've got better things to do right now" with a little "Would you hurry it up already". Wow. Glad I ordered to-go so I didn't have to steam about it in that dirty, dingy little dining area, but I did spend a lot of time staring at the walls and the floor while I waited for tacos which involved flavor of some kind thanks to the oil, which dripped down my chin and hands and justified the mound of napkins they stuck in the bag.

Stay away from this place esp their parking spots. I had the chicken taco meal and was it was gross. The rice & beans tasted burnt and dry. The two tiny tacos dripped and sat in a puddle of oil lacking taste. The shredded salad was good and saved the meal. For the price I wasn't impressed. If you visit a nearby place and park in their spots they will boot you! 60 bucks to remove, no joke.

Was trying to find a restaurant around the corner, with no luck. Being lunchtime and me being hungry, I stopped at a place I wouldn't have thought to try. Glad we stopped in. My niece saw chicharrones and wanted to try their burrito. (Not the mini, the full size!) She ate nearly the whole thing. She and my mother really enjoyed the chicharrones. I didn't try them, but they did look good. My mother ordered a plate with a chile relleno and an enchilada. She liked both, but the red chile was kinda spicy. I asked for a plate with two tamales and carne adovada. The adovada was more like green chile stew than adovada. I'm not complaining. I love that kind of stew. The tamales had good flavor, just a little dense in the masa department. I loved the beans. I didn't eat the rice. There was a little salad on the plate, but it had white creamy dressing poured all over it. I took a bite and it tasted sour to me. Had I known it had that on there, I would have asked them to hold the dressing. Tiny little dining room. Two long picnic tables and tall chairs and counters facing outwards. There was a little outdoor covered eating area, but since it had snowed in the morning, it was a little too cool to eat outside. Good food, great prices. If I'm down by UNM, I would stop by again

If i could gie a negative stars i would. This company is running a scam with a illegal car booting company. They boot cars and make you pay the company 60 dollars to get your car unbooted. I was there getting food from two different places went into the first one to pick up a co workers sandwich and then was walking back to get food from this place pericos and the guy already had a boot on my car after explaining what i was doing he refused to remove the boot got in my face and demanded the money , i was alone oh and did i mention im pregnant !!!!! he got overly aggressive with me and in my face i had no choice but to give him the money i was afraid !!!! did i get food from this resturant HELL NO, did i make a police report YES!!!!! i also filed a complaint with the attorney general , the better business bureau, and i called KOB news 4 and spoke to a reporter who is doing a investigation on this resturant and illegal towing company . oh and by the way the towing company is illegal they gave me a receipt with a false address and a false phone number which are as follows 123 YALE BLVD ABQ AND A PHONE NUMBER OF 505-573-6836 there name is VIKING TOWING and they have no license with the city and are under investigation with the city dont eat here dont park here and spread the word, PERICOS IS IN ON THE SCAM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stopped here by chance one day because I was having a tattoo done next door. I am usually funny about stopping at little places like this, but NM has quite a few of them and the artist working on me said it was great....so I tried it. For some reason now I always have to stop here when I visit ABQ. I love the little taco stands and especially when every ingredient is homemade. It's obvious from the taco shells to the salsa to the guacamole....everything is homemade just like it came from Granny's kitchen. I usually keep a serving of nachos and salsa near me at all times, LOL

Amazing tacos and good burritos! Maybe a bit pricey and the charge for drink refills is kinda lame but the food was great!

great food but unfortunately one of the women who takes the orders, has so much problem getting the order correct. it is exasperating!! From now on when this individual is taking orders, I am going elsewhere.
