We come to Marcellos about once a month for lunch, happy hour and dinners. The service and the food have slowly gone down hill. Our last visit the worst. We were there for dinner celebrating a birthday and had to wait for 30min for our table. When we got our table, our waitress took 15 minutes to greet us. When she came to the table she walked up and said "yes." Nothing more. Did not welcome. We ordered drinks that we had to ask for twice. Then had to ask another waiter to fill our water. When she finally came back, we ordered appetizers and she told us we had to order our dinners right away because the kitchen was backed up. We chose to wait. When our appetizers arrived, they were not the ones we ordered. When were ordering our dinner. We had to ask if there were any specials? Please? This is supposed to be a five star and for the $$ we are paying we expect better service. The worst was when we ordered our dinner she told us that the items we ordered are seasonal. I asked then why are they on the menu? I just ordered a salad, my husband a steak and we left. Only high point every time are the fantastic bartenders!!! They have never disappointed. What has happened to Marcellos? Sad.

My girlfriend ordered a Cesar salad with a piece of salmon- she is on the Atkins diet. She was charged 44.00 for this tonight! The waitress never mentioned it would be a ridiculous price for this small meal! When the bill came - we asked to speak to the manager, and was told that he was busy!!! The server said she would take off a whole 7.00. I am so disappointed because I frequent this restaurant often( never will again) !!! I look foward to the opening of Ruth / Chris accross the street!!

I've been to many steak houses and even worked at one as a server. I have to say this is no Ruth Chris. The service while people were nice, was perfunctory, I had a rib eye which was served cold but the right temp (med rare) and was seasoned with rose mary and other herbs. A good rib eye doesn't need anything except salt and pepper and butter. It was also tough and a little grisly instead of a good marbling. The sides were delicious but the foi gras was terrible, the escargot was decent but not served correctly. The plates came out in three different trips for a table of five. B for the bread served but the meal took way to long to be served. The decor was nice as was the ambience making a meager attempt at an ode to Sinatra and the original brat pack. Could be much better with some fine tuning.

Good food and a very, very nice wine selection. What does Yelp call it? Spendy? Yeah, it's that too. But it's nice to come and have a glass of wine or two on their patio on nice days. Service is attentive. Great for a special night out. Make reservations.

Those truffles at the end of the meal - a perfect little white bowl of chocolate and salt and crunch and rainbows.... oh, those truffles. Great staff - attentive without being overbearing. It's always nice to enjoy an unrushed dinner! The rest of dinner was very good - classic Caesar salad, savory bread, solid wine list (according to my dining companions), tasty pork chop with cheesy polenta (yum!) but honestly, I'd go back just for the truffles.

It is all about the lunch here for me! I haven't had the pleasure of dining here for dinner but hopefully that will be in my near future. My husband and I have been going to lunch here for years its our special treat. We go for the burgers. They are magnificent. Just beautiful. The beef is super juicy, tender, and flavorful. I always get the mushroom swiss burger. You can't beat it, and for 12$ that is not bad for such a quality meal. The fries are always super crispy and nice. I always order a side of horseradish ranch to dip. Do it, it will be the best decision you have ever made in your life. One time by burger was over cooked and the management and waiter did everything in their power to make sure that it was corrected. My burger was comped, they brought me a small salad while I was waiting and they also gave us dessert. Now if that is correcting a problem with grace I don't know what is. All the desserts are excellent! I will post some pictures for you! I will come back and rate this place 5 stars after I have tried their dinner. Hopefully it won't disappoint!

Every time we have gone the food and staff have been amazing!!!! Koby beef just melts in your mouth! The green chili mashed potatoes are phenomenal! They also have the best bloody Mary's.

I took my husband here for his birthday after I had heard so many amazing things about this place and since I wanted to treat him to a steak dinner he had been desiring. I honestly was not impressed. For the price we paid, it was not worth it. The wait staff have assistants, so they don't even need to do all the work and have help. Our waiter forgot three different things. Then, we ordered these mashed potatoes I had heard great things about, and they arrived cold! We had to send the potatoes back to get reheated, and then they were bland and just not worth it at all. Establishments like these should not have mistakes, let alone the amount we experienced. My husband did love his steak and said it was the best he's had in Albuquerque, so that's something positive. I also was disappointed because I specifically made reservations for my husband's birthday, and the lady who took the reservation asked me if it was a special occasion, yet Marcello's did nothing for him. I even mentioned it to the server and hoped they would bring him a piece of cake or something like most places do. They didn't do anything! Why ask if it's a special occasion if you aren't going to recognize it?Overall, I think the place is overrated for the price.

Fantastic place for a special dinner. Everything you could ever want from delicious steaks, awesome sandwich, super salads, and the very best fries ever. Service is outstanding and the place is clean. I'll be back often.

I went to this place for dinner on a Saturday night. We made a reservation and were seated right away. Our waitress attended us fairly quickly. She was very abrupt and came off rude. We felt rushed. We were served water and she asked us if we would like bread and brought it promptly. My only complaint is she never asked us if we wanted wine or something to drink. We probably would've gotten a bottle but because we had to ask for wine when we placed our dinner order, we just went with a glass each. We ordered a filet mignon and ribeye. Both were very very good. My boyfriend got a baked potato which was huge. I ordered the green chili mashed potatoes. They were very good - just wish there was green chili in the entire side not just on top of the potatoes. Both sides were huge. The waitress could've mentioned that but she wasn't too talkative or friendly. Service wasn't too hot especially for the money you pay to eat here. Maybe we will try again at some point.

Tonight was my first time at Marcello's (for my husband's birthday dinner), and I was VERY impressed! The food, presentation and service were outstanding. My husband had the bone-in filet mignon; it was done perfectly. I had the White Marble Farms pork chop with seared polenta, brussels sprouts, applejack jus liè - again, all done to perfection. Our sides of lobster mac & cheese and asparagus were to die for! All was nicely complemented by a tasty bottle of Australian Shiraz from their good wine selection. We were full, happy and satisfied... but then when we were given the dessert menu and we mentioned it was my husband's birthday, we were told that a dessert was free! So we couldn't resist. The Chocolate Bombe was incredible! All in all, this place did everything right. We will be back!

My favorite Chophouse in town, always delicious tender fresh quality steaks and if your wanting a beautiful appetizer you must try the Sauteed Jumbo Shrimp with flavored Chorizo OMG I could eat that all day as well as the the Lobster Mac N Cheese.......oooohhhh yay worth every calorie "YES" indeed. Service is always impeccable and every dollar spent is always well worth it!! Love the intimiate dining experience as well for couples and cocktails are always divine! Over the last 4 years this has been a Christmas tradition to bring all the family here! So if your looking for the highest quality Chophouse look no further, "Marcello's Chophouse is the only choice!

Sat at the bar. Positives: very friendly bartender who knew her stuff. Not so good: I ordered Prime Ribeye, overpriced (even compared to best Chicago steakhouses), it's in a shopping mall in in uninteresting part of town, steak and creamed spinach had way too much salt. That, plus blowhards at bar ranting their political views (not restaurants fault).

They offer 50% discount to military in uniform-- but NOT in large groups. Unfortunately, they never told us that until we got the check, despite the fact that we planned our going-away lunch at this restaurant a week in advance and told them we were anticipating the discount. It then took them 30 minutes to process separate checks, because that is apparently a difficult and unusual task for them. Lastly, my husband found a TWISTY TIE in his burger. INSIDE of the burger! He nearly choked on it! When presented to the waiter, the waiter showed minimal concern. With a little arguing, he got the meal for free, but what kind of restaurant that charges $15 for a burger would manage to get foreign objects lodged into their food?? DO NOT GO HERE. Mediocre food, TERRIBLE service. There are much better places in town.

I made reservations for 2 on Thursday night. I was impressed with the traditional decor when I walked in. While I was waiting for my wife, I sat at the smallish bar and ordered a dry martini prepared by a gregarious bartender named Heather. I can usually tell how the martini is prepared as a gauge for how professional the staff is, and my martini was outstanding. When my wife arrived, the hostess ushered us to our table which we found was not intimate enough. I asked if we could change tables and they escorted us to a very intimate 2-seat bench near the window, which was exactly what we had in mind. For appetizer, I had the crab cake and my wife, who is a vegan, ordered the portabello appetizer without the cheese. They were delicious. For my entree, I had the special which was a filet mignon with vegetables and was cooked perfectly and very satisfying. My wife had a salad and a baked potato that were sublime. She said the dressing was amazing. We had a wonderfully intimate meal and left feeling satiated. We will definitely visit Marcello's again.

I have eaten at Marcello's every time I come to ABQ and went twice this week. The first time I ordered the petite filet and it was nicely prepared, if somewhat tasteless. The steak at Vernon's Hidden Valley Steakhouse was definitely better. This time I ordered the crab cake and the duck breast. For a landlocked state the crab cake was surprisingly good, fresh and lots.of good crabmeith just.enough cayenne heat. The duck breast, on the other hand was a big disappointment..I ordered.it .with crisp and.pink.center , which they did. Good so far. When one orders duck breast one expects.duck.breast. What I got was one half (or one quarter depending on how one.counts these things) of the left side of a duck breast. How did I know it was the left side? Because attached to my duck breast was the large part of the left wing. I asked the waiter about the attachment to my duck breast to which be replied, "we serve airline duck breast with the leg attached". I pointed out that this was a wing, not a leg, to which he replied, "I'll talk to the chef." While the waiter did not know that an airline breast has the wing joint attached..I don't fault him as this is a cheap way to skimp on the breast while substituting almost inedible duck wing. After the waiter left.to talk to the chef the manager came out and asked.why I was disappointed..I said that had the menu mentioned that the duck.was.served.airline style I would not have.ordered it. The duck.wing takes.away.one.of the pleasures.of.duck breast, being able.to .cleanly.slice.through the breast. The manager said he was sorry that I was disappointed and that was that and that is the last.time I eat at Marcello's. Pretentious and mediocre.

EVERYTHING was SUPERB!! My date and I shared everything. We were completely satisfied. Marcello's special oysters, delicious. Lobster bisque, i wanted to lick the bowl, instead I used the bread to soak up every last drop. Caesar salad simple, perfect, and had these cheese cracker things that were awesome. filet mignon 16oz on the bone, WOW, fantastic juicy tasty excellent cooked right on. Paired it all with bottle of Melbec (waiter recommended the $50 bottle over the $35, both from Agentina...) It was smooth made the flavors POP!! The atmosphere was remarkable we sat in a corner booth with really high back walls they were angled so that it seemed as if we were the only ones in the room. Jazz in the background put just the right flare in the mood. The bathrooms were gorgeous, exfoliating salts, and the paper towels were soft as cloth ultra absorbent. We were in awe. We will be back.

I'm so conflicted about this review. Here's the skinny: Went with a friend with a groupon coupon. He got the filet mignon with the bone in and really enjoyed it. I got the house salad with blue cheese and it was incredibly salty. Now mind you, I am a salt monkey, so if it was too salty for me.... Also, ordered the rib-eye special. It was this palm sized lump of meat and it was also over-worked, kind of tough (even though I ordered MR) and obviously hadn't been rested well enough. Though time didn't help anyway. That special was something like $40...that's just not okay. I should have sent things back! What was I thinking? I think I felt some reservation about it because we were using a groupon. I will say that the broccolini and the mashed garlic potatoes that came with the steak were pretty good though. We also ordered the ice cream sundae for dessert and that was good.

Marcello's is located in an outdoor-style shopping mall, which makes for a somewhat unpleasant setting. The ambiance is not particularly romantic - it has a sort of East-coast, business-y feel to it, what with the typical Rat Pack and Godfather pictures on the walls. The food was decent with a fairly predictable menu, the service mediocre, the price fairly steep. For a more unique and fun steakhouse experience, try Vernon's in the North Valley.

I went to Marcello's in Uptown for a Chaine wine Club Event. It was very spendy, but I've never had a better food and wine pairing in my life. The head chef worked with the wine expert from our group and came up with a special menu just for our event. The waitstaff tended to your every whim. Absolutely amazing, I just don't know if I could afford to go there again... It's such a perfectly romantic restaurant, I witnessed two wedding proposals in a single night there!

Service was friendly, but slow. It took a long time for anyone to even greet our table. Lobster bisque was served cold, but did have a lot of lobster meat. Ordered the "colossal shrimp" which were regular sized shrimp. One of the worst steak house experiences I have had.

Overview: Overpriced, small sides and poorly cooked steaks. Probably would not go back as others do it better for much less. We ate dinner at Marcello's and I went in comparing the restaurant to a Ruth's Chris or Morton's as I feel the pricing and advertising are intended to be on par with those types of restaurants. The meal we had was not bad, but I was disappointed with the price we paid for what we received. First and foremost I believe that any place that focuses on steak and meat should never send a cut of meat out of the kitchen that is undercooked to what was ordered. One cut ordered medium came out at best medium rare, a second cut ordered medium well (even asked for a butterflied cut) came out a solid medium. To me, this should never happen let alone with 2 cuts of meat. I had the crab cake appetizer and it was good, but only a single small cake with a lot of filler, a disappointment. The steaks were flavorful and good sized. If it were not for the undercooking I would have called it excellent. The frustrating thing is when you go to a steakhouse and they do not stock steak sauce but have their own that they charge you for. Not only frustrating for the cost but the sauce is more like a BBQ sauce than a steak sauce. The roasted garlic served with the steaks was a winner. The side dishes were another disappointing experience. The sides we had were the truffle mac and cheese and the creamed corn. Both delivered on taste but when they are an a la carte option for $8 each they should be a size where they can be shared, these clearly were not as 2 people would have a hard time sharing either one. The service and staff were great, very attentive, polite and had good recommendations. I feel like Marcello's is charging Ruth's Chris prices but not delivering on what they should for what was paid. When putting out over $150 for 2 for dinner without alcohol I expect a solid experience and Marcello's did not deliver that.

It's a pretty good steakhouse. Right up there with the Rancher's Club. Different vibe, though. Marcello's is located in the Uptown Center, so it has a more hip ambiance. Contrast that with the Rancher's more subdued, old school feel. Expect all of what you would imagine to be in any reputable steakhouse: good selection of cuts, great specials (elk tenderloins when we visited), nice selection of wine, and a low-key, relaxed feel. Some of the booths are a little small, but very intimate if there's only two of you. We liked it. Great service, we were very well taken care of. There was also live music, which is always a plus. Overall, a fantastic experience I would recommend to anyone.

A really good steakhouse. And for Albuquerque, top shelf. Great room. Ambiance. Menu selections. Porterhouse perfectly cooked to my request. Huge portions. Hash browns were terrific. Avoid the creamed spinach-gummy. Service very very good-sat in the "lounge". Nice selection of wines by the glass, they were just very expensive. Overall very very good.

I've never been disappointed with a meal at Marcello's. The food is very good. The service is generally good. The atmosphere is very white and bright. There's lots of natural sunlight that floods in through the massive windows. Go there for lunch. It's a lot more affordable than the prices on the dinner menu, and the offerings are pretty much the same. You'll get a better value for your money on the lunch menu. It's one of the nicest red meat establishments in ABQ, but if you're looking for an experience on par with Ruth's Chris, it just isn't the same. They shouldn't even be compared. However, you CAN dress up, and not feel out of place. You'll see jeans, suits and everything in between. The piano in the lounge was a little loud and annoying, but I understand why it's there. Classy joints have pianos and whatnot. You can walk in on a weekday at 11:15 am when the restaurant is totally empty, and the hostess will ask you if you have a reservation. If you say "no," she will look down her nose at you, and flip through the calendar on the podium, as if she were going out of her way to do you a favor and schedule in a table for you. That's just how it is. Maybe they're trying to create demand. I've been there a few dozen times, and I've tried a lot of the menu, but I always go back to my two favorite things: the chopped salad and the steak salad. Both are delicious!

Thumbs up on this one. Not an inexpensive restaurant but most people probably know that before they dine here. Getting caught up in the cost won't do anything positive for your dining experience IMO. Let go and enjoy it! After several meals here I can recommend the Kobe burger at lunch, the chop salad, green chile mashed potatoes and the Veal Oscar. Marcello's makes an effort to bring in game meats like elk as off menu specials. So far I've really enjoyed the choice of sauces that accompany your entree. The wine selection is extensive and should please novices and enthusiasts alike. Personally I gravitate to the lounge area with different seating options and the live music on occasion. I like the energy in this part of Marcello's the best. The waitstaff is friendly and knowledgeable but you know how that goes- it probably depends on who, what night, their mood etc. This is a good place to relax and try something new.

***Dinner Menu*** Nice cut of beef. A bit overpriced but your paying for the atmosphere I guess. Cut: The "Chophouse Cut" A 26oz Bone-In Rib Eye Cooked: Medium well, seared well. Price:$ 49 (only includes the steak, salad and sides are extra) Result: Nice and tender decent flavor. Atmosphere is pretty classy and the waitress was a bit snoody to boot. Live Music was great.

Steak was great I ordered a bone in rib eye and my girlfriend had a New York. Didn't much care for the selection in sides. And for the price we paid for the meal I would have liked to have received it a lot sooner; the wait time was pushing about an hour.

I got a groupon lunch for this place. The menu for lunch is leaner but less expensive than a full dinner. This place does not disappoint but it's very pricey. Their lobster bisque is a standout. The Kobe diane (medium rare) is phenomenal. I recommend this for very special occasions and be prepared to shell out $$$$.

the food was good. and at these prices, I could and would expect no less. so, the food I had was good. but on the ceaser salad I suspect they used a bottled dressing. also, it had no anchovies. when I asked for some, was told they charge 1.00 for each anchovy as they are special anchovies. okay. I have eaten at some of the best steak houses in NYC, Dallas, Chicago, and San Francisco...so my standards may be a bit difft. as I traveled a lot on business, one of my little hobbies was to eat at the best steak house I could find in what ever town I was in. to continue: the service was a little on the slow side. on questioning, the server mentioned they had large parties in the back. okay, you have a full house..... but still, not my problem. also, I did not see a discount on my bill in re the slow service. for example, they took some period of time to get the bread to the table at the initial time of seating. its a small thing, but...again, an indication of the level of service. and....my steak did not have the topping that I ordered when it was finally served. again, not that big of a thing, but indicative of the attention to detail or lack thereof. I ate it as was served. I have learned never to send my food back to the kitchen. I will either eat it as is or leave. once the food is sent back, who knows what the dips in the kitchen will do with it. besides, by the time it gets back to me, it will just be some warmed over piece of whatever.... I should mention that in high school, lo! those many years ago, I worked as a busboy at a high end restaurant. 'nuff said. the service, otherwise was good. and when present, was attentive. I must also mention the piano player in the bar the night I was there. really good. worth a visit to the bar to enjoy a cocktail and listen to the fellow. does "up" versions of the great american song book and so forth. tip well! finally, the seating in the bar, the "booths" are really uncomfortable for tall guys (6'2") such as myself. they must have had midgets in mind when they built these little booths. I had to constantly shift my seating position to get comfortable. if you are a big guy, get a table. I would not eat there again. but as the place was full, my less than positive review will probably not affect their business. it was my experience, and yours may vary. as I have said elsewhere, I passed 100 restaurants to get here tonight. why would I want to repeat a negative experience.

My husband and I went to Marcellos for the first and last time yesterday. We both have had stomach aches all day.....I was up late last night running to the bathroom. 1. Ordered the crab cake which we never received. Luckily it wasn't on our bill. 2. Ordered the lobster bisque. Arrived luke warm. 3. I had the boneless petite and my husband had the bone-in filet (Oscar style). Steaks were cooked appropriately and were tasty but we've had better. We had the creamed jalapeño corn as a side - pretty tasty. We really wanted to like this place as it is a local restaurant but unfortunately we are going to stick with some other places here in Albuquerque where we don't get sick.

It was a perfect night. Excellent food, fantastic waiter, great location and no other company I'd rather have than my favorite partner in crime A.D. The ambiance in Marcellos is what you make of it. It could be a business dinner, a perfect date or simply because fellow Yelpers thinks highly of this place. You take a wild guess which one is my situation here tonight! :) We walked in without a reservation. No problem we were told. They gave us a choice of a booth or a table. We rolled the dice and said we really don't mind what we get. We were in a great mood! Within 2 minutes we were ushered to a table by the window. Awesome! It was a corner table facing outside and gave us the chance to once again enjoy the ABQ Uptown at night. It was table 16:) The booths by the way are very intimate. Although high backed booths for some reason makes me claustrophobic and I'm not even one! So I was happy with the table. This place oozes warmth and class. Cloth napkin. Bottles of wine lined a wall as you walk in. Sage our waiter was a perfect combination of knowledge and stealth. He's on point with his suggestions. My partner caved in to my suggestion and ordered the game of the night which was Kangaroo Meat. It was awesome! Not too gamey and it's got it's own sweet tasting quality in the meat itself. Melt in your mouth awesomeness! I had the Petite Filet Mignon 7 oz. I was very impressed by the meat quality and would highly suggest it for small eaters like me. Still was very filling and came exactly as I ordered. Pink in the middle and melts like buttah! One other excellent find that night was the Riesling that I fell in love with. It was the August Kessler. It was heaven bottled to be consumed by a totally taken mortal :) I could drink the whole bottle by myself. Seriously! Had their awesome Peach Cobbler. Such perfection. Not too sweet and believe it or not it didn't look rich at all because of the amount of peach but it did tastes rich. A scoop of ice cream topped the perfect dessert. It's huge and it's perfect to share! Will definitely recommend this place. It's a short walk from the Hyatt which is just across the street. We started dinner at 7 and left at 10:30.

Probably 4th or 5th time here. Dined here for a celebration dinner. We ate in lounge which was cozy but nice with live musicians. I ordered steak med rare and got it rare. My husband insisted I send it back. The brought it back almost exactly the same! I sent it back a second time so missed eating with my husband. The worst part, while I had no food, our waitress never came back. I sat watching my husband eat with an empty water glass and empty wine glass. :( no visit from the manager either. Fail.

This is as good as it gets for Albuquerque as far as steaks go. This place is pricey but if your willing to shell out some money for a good meal this would be the place to go. There steaks are cooked to perfection and there sides are delicious. I had there wedge salad which was one of the best there truffle mac and cheese was unique and most of all great there green chile mashed potatoes are also great! This place also has a large drink menu with lots of wines, beers and cocktails to chose from.

I have wanted to eat here for a long time and finally an opportunity came up to have lunch. They have a lunch menu which contains sandwiches, burgers & salads - I don't know if the full menu is also available as we were only given the lunch options. There were 4 of us and we ordered: the wedge salad, fish & chips, the prime rib sandwich and I had the Caesar salad with chicken. I can only comment on the visuals of the other 3 dishes: The wedge salad was well plated, it seemed to have a lot of dressing and also what looked like pickled (or perhaps cooked) red onions on top (a lot of them). The fish & chips was not fish & chips - it was fish & "fries" - I am from England and so I know what a "chip" is, that was not on the plate. The steak/prime rib sando looked large, had fries and came with au jus and horseradish. So my salad - I asked the waiter whether I should order the Tuna Nicoise or the Caesar and he said the Caesar. I asked for the dressing on the side (thankfully) - so I didn't really enjoy my salad at all. The romaine wasn't very uniformly cut or sized, the shredded parm was all at the bottom/on the plate not on the leaves. There were maybe 6 or 8 croutons total, there were two huge parmesan crisps on the plate. The chicken was dry and very cold. The dressing was super super anchovy/fishy tasting, I know that is an ingredient in caesar dressing, but I am very happy to had it on the side as i didn't have any of it and used the horseradish from the steak sando as my dressing. I just don't know if I would ever eat here again, the prices are a fair bit higher than other places and on the strength of lunch I don't know that I would want to pay that.

Ok, I went into Marcello's for lunch. I love sitting in the bar, they have nice little booths for two people. I have a favorite lunch salad, it's sort of my secret salad, my favorite treasure, the Flat Iron Steak Salad. It's about $14.00 but worth every penny. They only serve it at lunch, and that is a total shame, because I would probably have eaten here more if I could have had that salad for dinner. It's served with a healthy amount of Flat Iron steak cooked to your temperature choice (medium rare), on a bed of greens, with skinny fried onions on top, and a Balsamic Vinaigrette. Seriously, it's delicious!

Amazing food and wine selections. Very comfortable seating arrangements. Great service from a very patient server. With three other people who got steaks- they all cleaned their plates. I had the scallops which were the seafood special for the evening- it was decent. Most likely will stick to what's in the menu as a regular dish in the future. There were able to split our bill 4 ways in the end with no complaints. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Expensive though so it's likely only a place for business dinners or special occasions.

Got a groupon for lunch ($15 for $30). Went there with my wife. We both got the onion soup ($7). Was it good? Yes. What is worth $7? Well, it was plated well and tasted good. Maybe a $1 over priced. My wife ordered the flat iron salad, medium. Came medium and was very good. I ordered the "Kobe Beef" burger, medium. It came well done (waiter agreed). Sent it back. I got my replacement as my wife was finishing her meal. The replacement was also well done (no pink in the middle). I was too hungry to send it back again, but I should have complained. Wife says four stars. I say three stars. She can write her own review :-) Service was OK, but nothing special. Hostess was pretty, polite, and wearing a very short skirt. There was no one watching the floor at all times to see when we needed service. Ambiance was pleasant for a mall restaurant. Would I go there without a coupon, probably not.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in Albuquerque. The menu is wonderful and the service to match.

Nice ambience and good live entertainment on the weekends. The food is average. I don't see the value for what you pay. I expect any chophouse to be expensive. We went there for a business dinner. I paid over $1800 for 6 people. I am a good eater. I didn't finish any of my dishes. The meat was tough and the flavors did not go together. Like any fine dining, I expect my table to be free of crumbles between meals. It didn't happen.

What a treat this place is! I highly recommend it for a special dinner if you are in Albuquerque. It's not cheap, but no good steakhouse is ever cheap! The buffalo tenderloin was beautifully seasoned and cooked exactly to perfection (medium plus for my hubby). New potatoes were delish. Cesar salad was served "chopped", which is not customary or my preference. But the dressing was tasty, so that made up for the texture. The grand finale, and super special touch to a luxury meal..an AH-may-zing chocolate truffle rolled in sliced hazelnuts. This chocolate had a soft exterior - no hard coating - which I love! And the center...tasted like decadent dark chocolate brownie batter with chunky coarse sugar inside. By far one of the best steakhouses I've been to ever!

Yummo! I really enjoy eating at Marcellos for lunch. Taking friends or clients. The Chop Chop Salad is amazing. For dinner....try the TRUFFLE MAC & CHEESE with a fliet. So good! They always have great choices for different food and wine. The servers know the food menu and wine list up and down, so they really know how to recommend new choices.

i had a kobe medallion; it was average. The server didn't ask me how I wanted it cooked (rare) + I forgot to tell him, so it was more cooked than I'd prefer. If I come back, it'll be for dessert: banana bread topped w/2 mousses + coated in chocolate!

Went there Wednesday night for dinner with one of my Manufacturer's Reps.. No reservations but we showed up exactly at 5pm when they opened..... got seated immediately. He ordered a bottle of red (I never saw the price since he paid for the whole thing) and he had petite filet, lettuce wedge, baby carrots (he didn't finish these and they, frankly, didn't look all that good..... also corn chowder. I had grilled tuna (medium and done to perfection), lettuce wedge and hash browns which are enough for two people and they were fantastic. Best wine selection I have seen in a long time. Our server was attentive but unobtrusive, filled our wine glasses as required, de-crumbed our table twice, much appreciated and accurately answered any questions we had. A bit pricey but worth it. Lettuce wedge $8, Tuna $26, hashbrowns $8. I think his petite filet was around $30 and his sides were around $8 each. One dessert to go (for my wife who couldn't make it. I asked for one chocolate dessert and she said it "wouldn't travel well" but recommended one that would and it was a good choice. Estimating ~$175 including 18% tip and tax. Worth it once in a while. I will be back.

Very nice place to eat. I had the lobster bisque, lobster mac and cheese, and a wedge salad. All very good. I'm planning on moving to NM and I'm glad I was able to find a place that reminds me of my favorite steakhouse - Fleming's.

Yum, Marcello's is delicious! It is very nice, upscale, and has a huge wine list. The staff is very knowledgeable of the food and wine selections and pairings. The decor is fun with a throwback theme but still very steakhouse like. My fillet was insane. Attention men; Great place to bring a date and make a good impression.

The place that began my true Americanization and got me started on eating burgers. Their burgers are to die for - with tenderloin the raw material from which their craft their bovine art. The proper chipotle mayo and hand-punched fries round out the artisan buns and caramelized onions. If you order it rare - it will be rare (and that quality meat should be eaten no other way). Honorable mention go to their Bisque d'Homard (lobster bisque) and their lobster mac 'n' cheese (the understatement of the decade).

Can't review the food, only the service. We walked in and asked for a table. The hostess left and never came back after 10 minutes. Very attentive and classy. We did the only thing for a group of 6 - we left

If you have never been to Shula's, or even Morton's, then this is probably a great place to practice for really great steaks. We had to ask for bread, we weren't served the strawberry truffles, I think the server was just busy (I still tipped 18%). I had a blend red, it was tasty. The truffles Mac & cheese was cooked al dente, the steak was cooked to perfect temp, just wasn't the best steak I've ever had (as many others say). I do like the casualness of it. Oh and the basil salad dressing is yummy! I would give it 3.5 if I could, so a 3 it gets.

I have eaten at many steakhouses over the years including the original Morton's and at least 8 other Morton's locations, Ruth's Chris, Gene and Georgetti's, The Capital Grille, Gibson's and many others. This place bears no resemblance to any of the above listed save in price. The service was fine, I have no complaints there. However one of the most obnoxious things was the piano player singing in the lounge throughout the course of the meal at a very high volume level. My wife and I had to basically shout half of the meal in order to make ourselves heard. The ambience was very unimpressive and the noise level from the lounge was obnoxious. The food was not good at all, not horrible, but not really tasty in any way. My wife had the lobster bisque which was metallic tasting and had no richness of flavor or depth of lobster taste. I had the avocado soup with crab and the consistency was gelatinous with no discernible flavor to it other than cumin. The apps were very disappointing. My wife had a NY strip steak and even after a 3 minute conversation with the waiter prior to ordering regarding temperatures it came out undercooked and had to be sent back. Also, there was almost no fat on the steak which is what contributes to its flavor during the cooking process. My wife only ate half of it and didn't even take the rest home. I ate a filet which was well prepared, however the kitchen had sprinkled an herb mixture over the top of it which permeated the meat and was not really to my liking. In my opinion if you are going to add extra things to a classic dish you should put that on the menu. We had 2 sides, creamed spinach and button mushrooms. The spinach dish arrived with a bread crust topping which was very dry and flaky and not what I was expecting at all, unfortunately it did not taste good. Again, if you sell creamed spinach let it be simply that, and if not then inform the public on the menu. The button mushrooms were served in a cloyingly thick sauce that reminded me of a carmelized wine sauce and were not very good either. My wife remarked that the food was what you might expect at the UNM cafeteria. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The atmosphere is gaudy and loud, the food is substandard and the prices are high for what they serve. i have no problem paying for excellent food and service and have eaten at many Michelin starred restaurants over the years. I was not expecting this from Marcello's, however I was expecting a simple steakhouse that served quality meats cooked to perfection in a pleasant environment. They failed miserably. This place is not even as good as Sullivan's in Denver which I consider to be a good second tier steakhouse due to their price point and cuts of meat which are choice and not prime. Honestly, the onus is on me in a way because I should have turned around and walked out the minute I heard the piano singer and saw the way the dining room was set up. Live and learn. I am not upset, I just think that others should be aware and avoid this place. I know that Albuquerque is very lacking in fine dining which makes me try new places I would not usually consider, but there are better choices than this.

A true steakhouse in ABQ Uptown, the ingredients are fresh and well prepared. Dinner entrees are proteins with side dishes to be enjoyed for happy hour. They have a great patio and bar for martini with friends.

I waited for 2 years to try this place out and heard rave reviews about it. After I finally got my chance, my conclusion is that it is one of the better restaurants in ABQ but does not compare at all to a high end steak restaurant in a big city. So unless you have an expense account, this place is overpriced. My party started with the escargot which weren't served in the shell and traditional little welled plates. Marcellos serves it in a little crock pot full of a yummy white wine sauce and only one single crostini. I personally prefer my escargot to be very garlicky and buttery which just left me feeling that the snails were anemic and rubbery. Onto the salad which was easily the best thing I ate that night and the only item I would highly recommend. I ordered the iceberg wedge which was topped with a delicious bleu cheese dressing and the best bacon bits/lardons/or other pork fat and then sprinkled with their house seasoning. This salad was to die for and I would considering coming back here at lunch time just to eat this salad again. Next up was the highly anticipated protein course for which I ordered the chophouse cut on the bone. The description said it was a slow roasted prime rib which I guess it was but then it was put under the broiler so it came out looking like a rib eye steak and barely warm. I despise steakhouses that broil prime rib, if I wanted my meat browned on the top I would order a steak. The tasteless horseradish sauces did little to enhance the flavor. The other guys in my party seemed to enjoy their filet mignon and porterhouses though. For sides we went with grilled asparagus (very good), green chile mashed potatoes (very good), and the bleu cheese onion strings which were way too salty. The bread that was served was ok, not bad but didn't move me in any way. I was the only one who ordered a dessert and I went with the lemon tart which came with a shot of limoncello. If I were having a great meal so far I would have opted for the molten lava cake but since everything was so so I got the lemon which was average at best. Good pastry chefs only seem to exist in Santa Fe. I can't speak to the wine menu since I did not have any. I am the company accountant and do not feel this dining experience was worth the $100/per person the tab ended up being.

You won't find a better summer patio! When I say good for kids - not ALL kids, just kids that are used to eating in upper class restaurants with good behavior and a good pallet

What wonderful service and the food was divine. A truly delightful dining experience. Our steak was melt in your mouth tender and the green chile whipped mashed potatoes delicious. Our steaks took a while but our waitress immediately acknowledged this and offered a free dessert. Cannot say enough good things about this place.

Fabulous service and wonderful dinner of filet and lobster tail. Our very generous and gracious server, Vanessa, was very attentive without hovering, and packed us a late night dessert for the road with forks and napkins. Easy find close to I-40, and a new favorite in Albuquerque.

The Chophouse is one of my favorite places to eat in the city. The steaks are really good, they have an extensive wine list and the atmosphere and wait service is excellent. One of the other reviewers commented on the Macaroni & Cheese with truffle oil and how good it was. . . . .best baked Macaroni and Cheese I have ever had - anywhere! Good wine, good food and good service, what else can you ask for?

Went for lunch with a group of 15, no reservation. Service was fast given that the place was almost full at 1130 on a Thursday. I had a Kobe beef burger med rare, it came out perfect, and yes i added the applewood smoked bacon which was a tad crisp for my taste but added an awesome flavor to an already great burger. Went with the three cheese topping. Fries were just the right balance between crisp and soggy if there is such a thing (they were really good). My buddy had the dip sandwich and is still talking about it. Another guy had the lunch special some BBQ style chicken sandwhich and for $11 way worth the price for what you got. Waiter was perfectly attentive, not too much not too little. They also give a 50% discount for lunch to military members in uniform, an unheard of discount as a way to say thanks to those who serve. What a great business. Make time to try it out, special ocassion or not

Great Steak with a wine list to match! Service at the bar was "top shelf" I highly recommend. Try the Purple Angel Malbec with the Filet and ask for the mac and cheese on the side . Top it off with the chocalate cake and consider it a night!

Had been trying to take my husband to Marcello's for 4 years. They are not open Sunday evenings. So I called Monday afternoon and was told I did not need reservations. When we arrived there was a 2 hour wait. I was flabergasted. On a Monday night? The hostess was rude and I am not wasting 2 hours waiting for a steak, no matter how good. So I don't plan on trying again. Maybe Vernon's for our 37th anniversary.

Had a last minute thought to have an early dinner at Marcello's. Got there at 5:00 and was seated immediately by the window. Ordered the escargot, their game of the day - wild boar, and the au-gratin potates. The escargot was the best I've had so far, with mushrooms and bacon pieces and the right amount of garlic, but I do like garlic. The wild boar was moist and tender. The waitress suggested cooking it med. and it was perfect. The potatoes were too much and had to box up to take home, very cheesy, also with bacon. After dinner the waitress brought my check with a small plate and two chocolate, cherry truffles coated with almonds - so, so yummy.

First off, the service was impeccable. Our waiter started by describing the specials, what he favoured, and any suggestions he may have otherwise. He chatted with us and was very agreeable. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly as well. The food was absolutely amazing. We have dined at Smith & Wollensky in Columbus, Ohio, which was supposedly one of the best places, but hated the food and it was almost twice as costly as what we had at Marcello's Chophouse. This place is truly a gem because it is not a franchise restaurant. They served us warm herb-ciabatta bread that we could not eat enough of. We ordered the pan-seared duck breast and the peppered steak. Both came well-proportioned, cooked exactly how it should be as ordered. The duck breast came with a roasted garlic bulb that absolutely melded with the meat so well, I ate all the cloves in the bulb. The peppered steak tasted fantastic, sitting on a bed of sauteed red and yellow bell peppers and onions. As a side, we ordered the New Mexico Green Chile mashed potatoes that were lovely. We finished with the Denial martini and the Bananas for Sundae. They were the perfect ending to a wonderful meal, and we probably could have eaten all the desserts, they sounded so sumptuous. The bill was around $83 for all this plus a glass of their newest promotional red wine. Not bad for such wonderful food (especially when compared to the $130 tab for Smith & Wollensky's overcooked, overpriced food). Also, this place is great for romantic evenings as their booths are almost completely enclosed so that you do not have to see other patrons chowing down. Candles lit the tables and live music flowed over the cozy booths to create an original environment. Definitely check this place out. It will be well worth your money. Oh, and do get reservations. We were lucky to get a booth at 6 p.m. on a Friday without one; peak time is 7 p.m.

Visiting the great state of New Mexico for business I was in Albuquerque for a couple of days with my sales team. I happened to drive by Marcellos earlier in the day and thought it would be a great place for a meal and a drink. My associate I headed over for drink and a meal after a long day of customer meetings. We arrived shortly after the opening and decided to take a seat in the bar area while waited for 3 more coworkers to show up. The staff was pleasant the drinks were great and the wine list was long:-). Our associates arrived and we moved to the dining room for dinner. We ordered our meals a few sides and a couple bottles of wine. I ordered the one of the specials of the evening the Scallops, and everyone else on my team ordered meat dishes of different types. The food arrived and this is where things got weird. It was as if the chef decided use all of the "steak rub" available in the kitchen. My scallops were over-seared and overpowered by the rub. I realized nobody had finished their meal like myself because the rub on all of there meals was the same TOO MUCH. I BBQ a lot at home and have made this mistake many times to my meals. It is very much a rookie move and that is why I am not a chef. But when you are at a restaurant that claims to be a fine dining establishment I expect a lot more. Chef Ramsey would have been mad. I will definitely be back for drinks in the future hopefully the kitchen will be on point next time.

Food was mediocre. I'm angry at the fact that I bought a groupon and it expired so fast I called them 3 times and they told me it would be honored if I came I that week after it expired because their computer crashed. Well I came and they tell me they won't honor it. Way to run a business by lying to your customers. Will never come back.

I ate here a few weeks ago while on a business trip. This restaurant is in an outdoor shopping plaza and rather unassuming from the outside. Some coworkers and I were just browsing and decided to eat here on a whim. After being seated, I wondered if we were a bit undressed in jeans but I couldn't get a feel for the expected attire as it was a bit early on a weekday. On to the rest - the food and service were superb! I believe Joshua G was our server. He was friendly and personable without being intrusive. We had great small talk with him and he made several recommendations. We ordered oysters Rockefeller as an appetizer. I didn't eat any but it was plated wonderfully. Two of us had the petite filet with baked potato and the other person had the elk. All of it was delicious! The baked potato was huge. We didn't order dessert but received tiny individual chocolate truffles as an after dinner treat. The only complaint about the experience was that my coworker's Scotch didn't arrive in a proper lowball glass. Other than that, attention was given to detail in every area, even the restrooms. The ladies room had a wonderful hand scrub at the sink that I loved. Five stars to Marcello's and I will definitely return again.

I was passing through ABQ and was in the mood for a nice steak, so I gave this place a try. My "prime ribeye" was overcooked and vastly underseasoned -- I probably could have gotten a much better steak for half the price at Texas Roadhouse -- and the service was terrible. The green chile whipped mashed potatoes were the sole factor in me not giving this place a 2-star review. Will not be coming back.

I ordered take out and even though I had to spend 7 minutes on hold to place an order, the service was great! Everyone was polite and cheerful despite the dinner rush. However, I wish I had eaten there so I could have sent the food back and asked for a refund. The "NM Green Chili Whipped Mashed Potatoes" were a tiny container of lumpy mashed potatoes with a side container of green chili. They were definitely NOT whipped and not at all worth $8. The fried pickles were the worst part. Thin, cheap, puny pickle slices clearly from some jar with panko crust (rather than a batter) that slid right off. This does not belong on their menu because they clearly have no clue how fried pickles are supposed to be cooked. I was really looking forward to the horseradish dip but the flavor was disgusting. The items I purchased sounded great in theory and would be great if the kitchen knew how to cook. This was a Saturday night so I would hate to see what comes out of that kitchen on a Tuesday afternoon. Again, I deeply regret this purchase and wish I hadn't taken the food home where it was too late to request a refund.
We went here for dinner the other day because of the reviews on here. our steaks were definitely overcooked and when you're paying 31 to 39 dollars per steak I pretty much expect it to be perfect. our waiter was terrible and barely checked on us at all. I went quite a while with no drink. on the other hand the mushrooms, the creamed corn and the creme brulee were just excellent. but including tip the meal cost is $143 so I don't think we'll be going back. if our steaks had been cooks well we probably would. The tables are also very very tiny and crowded

Here's the thing - I've enjoyed many a fantastic chophouses in my day - and this is not one. The food is horribly overpriced for the quality. I took my best friends daughter for a one-on-one date and this is what we ordered: Beef carpaccio - fine oysters on a half shell - horrible, smelled like bad badness 2 sirloin center cut steaks - fine but the knives were so terrible I asked for a new one and my sweet date said she was certain she would have a sore arm the next day. It literally would have been the same if they gave us chopsticks to cut our steak. lobster mashed potatoes - terrible (in full disclosure I don't like lobster but this confirmed that I still don't like lobster) creamed spinach - fine and I ordered a glass of Malbec (which the server talked me back from the $14 glass I ordered to a $9 glass because it would be less "wet" - whatever that means for a liquid). Total = $150 ($125 + 25 tip) So, I feel like we did a good job on sampling the menu. The seating situation is bizarre. We originally sat at a table that was so long I was absolutely closer to the two women to each side of me than I was to my little date. I asked to move to a new table and that meant we were in a itty bitty booth that hardly allowed for our drinks glasses and additional plates. They are like little-isolated pods where our only view was the wall of another section of isolated pods. The service was fine. I felt like the waiter was treating us like we were the dad and daughter duo from Curly Sue. He frequently forgot things I requested and talked to us in that high voice you reserve for people you don't think can afford to be there. Overall, I was horribly disappointed and most certainly will not be going back. Ever.

When we came out to interview for my husband's job which brought us here, they wined and dined us, and Marcello's was the second place they took us. At the time, we were vaguely disappointed to not be eating New Mexican, but it was a nice swanky place and they bought lots of wine, so we enjoyed it. I am a steak person and my husband is not, so steak places are not high on our list. The food that night was very good, but the pressure of the evening wasn't conducive to the kind of enjoyment I would want to have with that kind of steak. So, we had not been back since we moved here over three years ago. The other night we went to the tree lighting at ABQ Uptown, and while there we sat in the outside patio area, had some wine and listened to the Christmas carols being played by a string quartet. It was really lovely. The wine by the glass is ridiculously expensive (as wine by the glass is everywhere) but the waitress was lovely and very pleasant. The service was good, the atmosphere was lovely, we had a great time. It's not a place I am in a hurry to run back to, but I think most people would enjoy it. Give it a try, see what you think.

My husband and I came here to have Sunday brunch and we had a very disappointing experience. First off we walked in and no one was in the front we waited 5 minutes for someone to sit us (place was empty) our waitress was slow and not very helpful. She said they ran out of bread (seriously!!!) I order the hashbrown with carne avoada and 2 eggs...yuck! All I could taste was cheese and onion, I tried eating it but after a few min just couldn't do it so I told the waitress she was not happy about it, she did not ask.me if I wanted something else. After that she made sure to make us wait for our check. The manager did not come over to ask what the issue was...wow horrible customer service! Will never go back for brunch

This is the 3rd time I've visited in the last 3 months. So strike 3 -- I can't provide a anything but a sub-standard review. I rarely post to yelp, but tonight I felt compelled. There were 4 of us dining and we all ordered steaks -- filet mignon, ny strip etc. The meat for all was as tough as the proverbial boot -- even though cooked at a medium rare temperature. Service was also substandard -- except for the young man that filled our water glasses. The waiter's demeanor was arrogance seasoned with inattentiveness. ABQ needs more fine restaurants but at a bill over $280 for the 4 of us; we each expected a quality of beef that didn't resemble a retread tire. Sorry Marcello's -- but perhaps more attention could be paid to food quality and sourcing.

I have eaten here a couple of times, but our recent visit has been the best. Everything was fantastic! Our server was great, very friendly, but not too annoying. Even the busboy was helpful and friendly. We ordered their special soup of the evening, a sweet potato curry garnished with prosciutto - They need to serve this ALL the time. It was incredible!! We also had a burger and the tenderloin medallion starter, both were delicious and cooked perfectly to our liking. The evening we were here was the night of the Uptown Tree Lighting. Luckily the weather was perfect, mid 60's at 6pm. We sat on the patio and listened to the carolers, enjoyed the lighting of the tree, and sipped on hot chocolate from the comfort of a couch. We were surprised more people weren't taking advantage of the front row seating.
Good steak. Good salad. Good sides. Fine wine list. Service excellent. The decor is awful. Old, dingy, conference room like. Even for a private room. Usiness dinner, it was a downer.
This was first time in Albuquerque so I can only compare to other restaurants in the country, not what is available locally. I asked how was the $31, 7 ounce Petite Filet tasted. The exact words were, " It is the best in Albuquerque. It is what we are known for." It was amazingly mediocre. Save your money. However, the service however was good. I am giving the waiter the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't know what an amazing filet tastes like.

Bought a lobster macaroni cheese for $19.26 and when I received it, it came in a plastic two cup container with only 3/4 of macaroni and lobster claw the size of a quarter!!!! When the waitress described the size, I was expecting a plate full size not a saucer size!!! Was very salty and not worth $19.26!!!!! Won't be going there again!

Went for Mothers Day Brunch expecting to be wow'ed and left disappointed. Table of 11 ordered various brunch entrees. The food took more than an hour and came out haphazardly. The potatoes were way to salty, the presentation was off, and the portions small. My crab cakes for the crab cake benedict were the size of a silver dollar and there was not a English muffin in sight. My mom's, our guest of honor, steak was not cooked properly. My nephews salad was forgotten. The normally gracefully elegant staff looked like overworked IHOP waitresses. I've been to the restaurant many times with clients who were greatly imprssed but when I bring the most important people in my life, my family, a huge disappointment.

So disappointed, we came here for a special night based on local reputation. Great ambiance, good service, but the food was definitely lacking in flavor! We're not the type to complain typically, but when you pay that kind of money you expect to get what you pay for... Fell short for sure. Not going back, but maybe it was just an off night.

Wow, 16oz NY cut for $39... Ordered at medium and it came out fully cooked and dry. Although it did have good flavor, the cook over-cooked my steak. Had two glasses of wine of Pinot, which was very good. And the bartender was a sweetheart. Sorely disappointed in the over-cooked steak, no pink what so ever in the middle. Sorry to say its over-rated, unfortunately the elite snobs have no where else to go.

It is interesting... The staff, however inattentive, was really friendly. I walked in and was told that if I wanted food (and I did) to find a seat... I did, outside on the couches where I could find a seat and people watch... And then I waited. I waited some more... And then I waited again. After about 45 minutes I was asked if I wanted a glass of water and then it dawned on me that all the staffers thought I was homeless or something. And sure, I was wearing a t-shirt that said something like "fuck" or "anarchy" on it (which I usually do), I was being shunned... This in itself is funny because I'm clearly in my mid forties... I have money to drop for any meal at any restaurant, but the staff here is obviously inclined to serve the hot cool people. I think I can justify this be seeing three other tables in my vicinity on this day get served quicker and faster than I was for less expensive meals. But they were younger than me, and clearly shop in this strip mall... Anyways, My burger was great and aside from how I was treated, there was free WiFi, so this restaurant gets a star bump up on the scale... HELLO CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING: LOCALS EAT TOO...

This place is wonderful, the service, the music/ambiance, the food & my date! Dropped in after shopping and it was the perfect atmosphere to unwind. I was treated to the best Chianti I've had in a long while & the crab cake was scrumptous! Highly recommended!

My new favorite adult restaurant, leave the kids at home. The pricing for dinner is around $47.00 for a great piece of steak but I like to go for lunch where the pricing is around $10. I had the french dip sandwich - the best I have ever had (in Albuquerque) and my friends got the burger and a chicken sandwich. We all loved what we got. NOT FOR KIDS! DRESSY AT DINNER, CASUAL FOR LUNCH.

Excellent food!! Had dinner with a party of 8, everyone loved their entree. I had the Elk and it was delicious. Best restaurant I have experienced so far in ABQ. Plan on being here for a long time. Nothing fast about this food.

I am only reviewing for lunch and have never been here for dinner. Both times I have gone, I have enjoyed the food. One time I tried their venison burger which was a lunch special. It was quite good, perfectly cooked with a slightly spicy mayo type sauce on it. I swapped out the fries for a salad which made the meal more manageable for lunch. My only complaint is that the lunch service was slow. Most people have a limited time for lunch and it took well over an hour to have lunch here, both times. The lunch prices are on the high end but still reasonable. The lunch prices are not nearly as high as the dinner prices.

I am a master griller (hardwood charcoal of course) and believe that I make some of the best steaks at home. As a result it is difficult to order steaks at restaurants including chops houses, I am always disappointed. I ordered the beef tenderloin with bone in and I was very pleased. Properly seasoned a cooked properly (medium rare). Very good! Ala carte menu can get expensive. Good Chopin martinis as well.

Went to the Chop House on a Wednesday for a company party of about 16 people. The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. My buffalo was exceptional at med rare, but several people said that thier medium well steak was over done. My chop salad and creamed spinach was also fantastic.

Marcello's is a treat to eat at... from the wonderfully classy ambiance to the delicious steaks and sides. I always order the lobster bisque soup and am never disappointed. I also enjoy when they have a live jazz band playing in the bar.

I went here alone one night while on business travel based on the yelp reviews and the $$$ rating. Boy was I surprised when a kobe medallion - a rather small piece of meat was $30 with no sides. The meat and wine were good and my dessert was fabulous - just not sure it was worth the $60+ I had to pay for the meal.

I've been on numerous occasions for lunch or cocktails only, but look forward to having dinner at some point. They have a great "wine by the glass" program with options suited to budget or luxury spending. I've never incurred a problem with service or my food, it's usually on point, timely and professional. I crave their chop salad almost on a daily basis. In relation to food pricing, it is on the higher end of albuquerque restaurants for dinner, but not outrageous. And what is often misleading for finer establishments and lunch service is that it is too expensive. A lunch at a place like Marcello's or Savoy is going to be comparable in cost to having lunch at Applebee's or Outback, but instead you get better service and higher quality. So next time you are walking around ABQ Uptown for lunch, skip Elephant Bar and Bravo and walk in to Marcello's!

Dropped in to have wine with a great friend after shopping @ ABQ outdoor mall and ended up coming back for dinner with hubby. The disappoint. Wonderful wine selection and wonderful beer selection ( though by the bottle ). We split the Caesar salad ( recommended it was huge! ) and it came with a Parmesan crisp and light dressing. Hubby ordered the new york steak ( yum ! ) and I ordered the Kobe selection of the day which is a new york steak as well ( yummier ). The service is very friendly, attentive and welcoming. we shared the seasonal veggie side dish ( thank god as it was also huge! ). Unfortunately we were too full to enjoy dessert. special tip from the waiter : order the creme brulee and seasonal cobbler both are the only ones made in house the rest are not in house made :). One more thing... expensive but worth the cash. Great for a once in a while date night or splurge anniversary :)

Good steak in a very nice atmosphere. I was a little apprehensive about coming here at first because I guess I assumed they were a chain or something (just about *everything* else is at ABQ Uptown is). I was very pleasantly surprised to find (when I opened my menu) that they're a local Albuquerque phenomenon. Coolness! Hate to disagree with the last reviewer, but their price range isn't quite ultra-high end. We don't really have any of those in this town, that I've been to. I ended up spending around $50 a plate, which is definitely pricey for the area, but not quite through the stratosphere. Anyway, as far as the food goes, they did a good job with everything. I stuck with the dependable (Caesar salad and a filet), but it was prepared with skill and attention to detail. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. All in all I had a real good time.

Stuck-up, only serves high class looking people. They did seat us but never came back to our table for water or any service. Rude place. Cheapest steak is $40-$70. If you want to impress people eat here and throw away your money. ... Surely, if you are related to the Queen of England or a movie star or if you are handsome male with a hot sexy lady with lots of exposed cleavage and legs, then I KNOW you'll get seated quickly and professional service however, don't happen to be a well-dressed professional person as you'll never get service, only rudeness. If you want a great time go across the street to the pizza cafe, its really lovely and has original artwork on the walls, impressive food and artwork.

This is probably our favorite restaurant in Abq. The service is always fantastic, the food is delicious, the desserts are decadent. The staff always seems to go out of there way to ensure we are well taken care of. It's a great place for a romantic dinner or for entertaining groups of ten or less. I'm not sure how a large group would do there.

Food here is better than the standard steakhouses, Morton's etc. at about the same prices. The atmosphere and service is excellent. If you want someplace kind of quiet, with good service, and consistently good food in Albuquerque, this is the place!

If you want very good food and can afford it, then you have come to the right place. Expensive, but really good food.

(2)Robert B.

(5)Robert D.
(2)Anne W.

(3)Kira E.
(4)Jen W.
Service was friendly, but slow. It took a long time for anyone to even greet our table. Lobster bisque was served cold, but did have a lot of lobster meat. Ordered the "colossal shrimp" which were regular sized shrimp. One of the worst steak house experiences I have had.
(2)B S.
(1)Wes T.
(5)Jon S.
(4)Eric S.
Over priced over rated. Steak was pretty bland, especially for the price. Could get a better meal for half the cost
(3)James R.
Great service, good steak, great crab legs. Very pricey.
(4)Driver P.
(4)Colin S.
(4)Moe R.
(3)Myron E.
Steak was great I ordered a bone in rib eye and my girlfriend had a New York. Didn't much care for the selection in sides. And for the price we paid for the meal I would have liked to have received it a lot sooner; the wait time was pushing about an hour.
(3)Roland L.
(4)Al S.
the food was good. and at these prices, I could and would expect no less. so, the food I had was good. but on the ceaser salad I suspect they used a bottled dressing. also, it had no anchovies. when I asked for some, was told they charge 1.00 for each anchovy as they are special anchovies.

Nice patio.good burgers, cold beer and a big wine list. There French fries were good.Id go back..Wished that they could turn on the water for the kids. They looked so unhappy that the fountain wasn't working..They need to clean out the water filter so the kids can play..This place is pricey but the burgers were priced right .

Good location, ambiance, service, and food. Had the petite filet, and group split several sides. Au graut potatoes were delicious as was the steak.

Me my wife and Mother in law went here for Christmas Eve dinner and it was very nice. Atmosphere was very calming and has a very upscale feel. Prices are reasonable. Waitress was little flighty but otherwise very good. Would recommend

(3)Robert G.

(5)Zoe L.
i had a kobe medallion; it was average.

(4)Jennifer M.
(5)Dave T.
Great steak, good service, nice patio, but definitely overpriced.
(3)Bernd L.
(5)Joshua G.

(3)Sharon V.
(2)Sarah N.
A true steakhouse in ABQ Uptown, the ingredients are fresh and well prepared. Dinner entrees are proteins with side dishes to be enjoyed for happy hour. They have a great patio and bar for martini with friends.
(4)Tricia K.

(5)Barbara H.
Fabulous service and wonderful dinner of filet and lobster tail. Our very generous and gracious server, Vanessa, was very attentive without hovering, and packed us a late night dessert for the road with forks and napkins. Easy find close to I-40, and a new favorite in Albuquerque.

Great steak & sides, knowledgeable staff, I recommend it
(4)Andy M.
(4)Tara R.
Make time to try it out, special ocassion or not
(5)Robert D.
Great Steak with a wine list to match! Service at the bar was "top shelf" I highly recommend. Try the Purple Angel Malbec with the Filet and ask for the mac and cheese on the side . Top it off with the chocalate cake and consider it a night!

Unbelievable food. The roasted garlic adds so much to an already perfect steak. Believe it or not the French fries are great!!

(1)Mary L.

(5)KJ P.
(3)Rose B.

The Good: Excellent service from our waiter David. The Salmon, Beef Short Ribs and Creme Brûlée was good. The Bad: the Lump Crab Cake appetizer was cold, bland and lacked any taste of lump crab. The Ugly: No real lunch menu. All major items were $13 or higher. The portions were too big and too heavy for lunch. Who wants to carry around in their car, left overs from lunch, all day? Poor lunch stop. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

(1)Allison B.

Stopped by for a quick glass of wine...which turned into two...three...and so on. Service was good and staff was very knowledgeable. Had their oysters which were outstanding, then the seared tuna appetizer, also outstanding and finally the beat salad to complete my dining experience. Things are pricey and my tab was painful but worth it. Looking forward to my next trip out here so that I can try a main entrée next time...they have a great menu.

Good steak. Good salad. Good sides. Fine wine list. Service excellent. The decor is awful. Old, dingy, conference room like. Even for a private room. Usiness dinner, it was a downer.

How does the saying go, again? "Don't judge a steakhouse by its burger"? Call me shallow, but seeing as I'm not likely to drop a Benjamin on a sizzler around here any time soon, I'll have to stick to this report on the burgers: up there with the very best of Burque. Absolutely unforgettable. Thank you Tiffani C for the lunch review, you were my inspiration to go try this out. Both of our burgers, the New Mexico and Hickory, were thick, juicy bombs that shamed the very concept of portioning; come with an empty stomach because you will be searching for corners to stuff the last of the bacon and caramelized onion. The buns got soaked in the entire mess, always a good sign, and the fries... does it sound like I'm on the verge of orgasm, here? Probably the best fries in town, in part because they're terrifically over-salted, even worse for you drenched in the house-made ranch dressing. Two other remarkable dishes and completely on-point service made the experience stellar. The Chop Chop salad, how's this ingredient list sound: italian salami, artichokes hearts, tomatoes, kalamata olives, garbanzos, toasted pinons and aged provolone. It works beautifully, and it's a meal in itself. The crème brûlée definitely stood up to the spoon tap test, very good. They carry Green Flash beers, among other great selections, to wash it all down. Definitely too good for lunch.

The Ahi tuna and petite filet were amazing! service was mediocre.
