Worst service I've received ever at any place. They got my order all wrong. Ordered veggie enchiladas and got cheese. Then they said they took it off the bill when in fact they didn't but took the cheese enchiladas off my bill the item I didn't even order. Lol.

Came in 30 minutes before closing on a Friday night. Ordered a combo plate. Cheese enchilada was so hard like it had been left out or micro'd. Taco was not bad. Tamale masa was gritty. Only pleasant thing was the waitress. Definitely not worth money we paid.

The Grande Breakfast Burrito is no joke! Two people can share that burrito and get full. Service was slow but they were busy and only one person working. Wasn't a big deal. Taste better than any breakfast burrito back home. I'd stop again if I'm in the area.

Went there on a whim after a doctor appointment. Wow! What a mistake. I ordered the chili rellanos and my wife got a green chili cheeseburger. Both were awful. The rellanos tasted like they came out of the freezer from Smith's Supermarket. No flavor, doughy, and the chili was out of a can. The cheeseburger was not anything to talk about, being bone dry and over melted cheese. So, the food was terrible. What about the service? Just as bad. I was suppose to get a tortilla. It never came. The girl came back to check on us once; when she brought the check. She spent the rest of the time talking to her friends in another book. If you want good Mexican, go to Garcia's. Great food and good service. Little Anita's was a major disappointment.

If I could give zero stars I would! HORRIBLE food! The cheese wasn't even melted on cheese enchiladas. My son refused to eat it after one bite! My husband and I ate it only because it was 40 bucks for the 3 of us. Disgusting. They should be ashamed of themselves for tricking travelers (I can promise it's only because it's located by hotels) into paying for nasty, cold and dry food. I wanted to walk out mid meal. And, should have but, felt bad for the waitress... You could tell she knew the food was gross...but, she's gotta make income like the rest of us... She was nice and tried to hurry...but, we still ended up waiting almost a hour for our food to arrive! Never again...and I suggest you not try it cause you will feel ripped off and sick to your stomach too!

Yum. That's all. Yum. Second time I've eaten here, just happened to stumble upon it both times (I'm from out of town). If you keep in mind this is a cafe-style restaurant, then you should know better what to expect. The menu has the basic New Mexican cuisine, good prices, and good price. Not gourmet but they do not disappoint. I even got an extra sopapilla. Beer in bottles, not draft, but that's fine, too. Friendly staff and quick service.

Been here before with a good friend. The food is good and the service is okay. Our waitress was a bit slow on stuff - she was very nice though which means a lot.

From out of town was close to our hotel. My fiancé ordered the steak tacos and a frozen margarita. The tortillas were greasy and fell apart they had the consistency of a wet paper towel. The frozen margarita was simply margarita mix and ice not blended at all. Made it back to our hotel and my fiancé threw up in a trash bin in the hall and the. Spent the night going back and forth to the bathroom. All in all garbage. That little voice you hear when you see the inside of this place that says hmmmmm this might be a bad idea yeah listen to that.

Little Anita's is a cross-over of New Mexican and a Diner. Kind of a neat, quirky idea. The wait staff was very nice and helpful. The restaurant was clean and well cared for. But the atmosphere could have been better-- which comes back to the diner aspect. The only real negative was that there was not any beer on tap. FOOD: I had the fresh roasted green chili stew. I had never heard of this before, so I wanted to try it. The stew had potatoes, green chili, onions, and pork. It was very good. The menu seemed to have many authentic "New Mexican" items. Food service was quick and the meals were very affordable. I do have to agree with many on here, though, about the sopapilla. It was not up to par with their competitors. At all. Overall-- good place to grab a bite to eat over lunch. But not a real dinner destination.

Little Anita's is more of a diner type environment, service is great & the vegetable enchiladas were awesome. I didn't care much for the sopapilla's or for the red chili.

Awesome New Mexican breakfasts with very friendly service. We had carnitas, huevos, adovada, all was excellent and spicy enough for locals yet mild enough for travelers.

I first went to Little Anita's when I was in Albuquerque for the Mariachi Conference in July. I've never had New Mexican food before but when I tried it here, it was great! The sopaipillas here are just as good as any other place, served hot and fresh with a squeeze bottle of honey to pour on them. I recommend their Carne Adovada which is pork marinated and stewed in a chile sauce. The only thing I wish was that the chile be spicier but my expectations were just to high for New Mexico chiles I guess, they just weren't hot enough for me! Despite the food not being spicy enough, it still has flavor which is just as important. Overall, this is the place to eat when you're in Albuquerque.

I like me some Little Anita's breakfast burritos in the morning and fried ice cream all day long! Little Anita's is definitely set up as a diner, but who cares when you're enjoying a bowl full of goodness. Fried ice cream! Okay, so I admit I was only in it for the fried ice cream, but the breakfast burritos could truly become daily routine!

Great food. Authentic. 8-10 bucks. Great service too.

Consistently good... except for the sopapillas, which are often inedible. But who needs them anyway???

Good, consistent, cheap NM food. I stop in for lunch about 1x per month. Great lunch option, friendly service as well.

Extremely mediocre. No authenticity to Little Anita's whatsoever, just cheap ingredients (canned refried beans, etc.) and some bs salsa with some chips that have some preservative aftertaste. Come here if you want corporate fast-food quality food at double the price. Just went here today.

This is honestly one of the worst places I have ever eaten. The red chile sauce was bland (probably from a can), the rice was crunchy, and my shredded beef was way over cooked. Don't even bother with the chips and salsa, they're clearly store bought. The only redeeming factor was our waitress Angie.

Service by Ernesto was excellent. Enchiladas were very spicy for me, but taste was good. Sopapillas were so tender and flaky they melted in my mouth.

Ate here for dinner at the recommendation of our hotel clerk. Situated in Old Town, the environment was quaint and the patio dining was enjoyable. Food was very good, but NM Mexican, not Tex-Mex like I'm used to at home. Chips & salsa excellent. Servings are large. Service was good too. Will definitely stop by again when my travels bring me to Albuquerque.

I had bought one of those local coupon booklets for $20 and inside there was a coupon for Little Anita's for "Buy 1 entree, get 1 free". We get seated and I hand the server the coupon and he tells me and my girlfriend that he needs to check with a manager. I was curious as to why it needed to get approved, but waited nonetheless. A few minutes later the manager comes to our table and tells us that the coupon was a misprint and the deal is actually "Buy 1 entree, get 1 half off". Now, misprint or not, I paid for that coupon and any business with dignity and customer value would honor it regardless. Also, I am not sure how it misprinted when they must have had to get the coupon proofed and approved before it went to the printer. My theory is that they were losing too much money with the free entree and decided to change it to half off. This angered me because it is essentially a tactic to get people in the door. Most people would just cut their losses, order their food, and only get the half off; but we decided to leave and never come back. That's no way to do business.

From the start we walked in and the server rolled his eyes like why are you here I gotta actually do my job. We get seated takes forever to get drinks note there is literally 6ppl in the restaurant. We get our food which was okay wouldn't eat it again. She didn't bring half the stuff that we were suppose to get. I had to get up to tell her my whole table was out of drinks and to get more tortillas for our fajitas. We have 6 adults and 2 baby's in car seats and she added gratuity. I guess since she knew the food and service sucked she would try to get something. Overall this place is a 1.

This diner walks in to Albuquerque. He meets a lovely New Mexican restaurant. They live happily ever after. Oh, and they begat Little Anita's. Little Anita's is pretty much what you get if you cross a diner with New Mexican cuisine. The food is basic with flair, safe, tasty and unremarkable. Like most of us. Except me. The red chili was good, the green chili good. The carne abovada was good. Nothing was great. As others have said in reviews, the sopapilla's were a bit of a disappointment.

Found this place when we missed our hotel. Ordered take out, very fast and the food was good. Hit the spot for a quick meal after travelling. We had the carne adovada, and shredded beef nachos.....

Everything ordered here was only so-so. But they did have a small selection of vegetarian items!

We were traveling to AZ and stopped in Albuquerque for the night hungry we wanted something close to the hotel, we stopped at Anita's the staff was polite, the cashier stood at the register starring at us while we ate. The service was quick, I think they use a microwave, I am used to fresh Mexican Food being from the Chicago Area I have eaten at much better Mexican Food. I have to say I was very disappointed . They need improvement get a oven cut out the microwave. .

This is what I would call a combination "Mexican Restaurant and Diner". It obviously used to be a diner. They serve a decent selection of "New Mexican Food" (I'm still trying to decide whether "New Mexican Food" is a "type" of Mexican food, or a Mexican Restaurant in New Mexico... Funny the things that come to mind after going to so many mexican places... The Carne Adobada is good (see my review of Los Cuates for my favorite Carne Adobada), the taco plates and the Carnitas are pretty tasty as well. Not my favorite, but I've been back a couple times. Service was fast and efficient. I've got no complaints about anything except that there aren't enough days in the week to find a new mexican places on my business trips.

I had the stuffed sopapilla with chicken, it was pretty good. The extra sopapillas they gave you were a little hard and chewy, and there was no honey offered. I still managed to get them down though, hey I won't pass up sopapillas, they're hard to come by in San Francisco! The service was excellent!

This restaurant was better than the previous reviews made it out. I went here on a Sunday night. It was not busy at all. The waitress (Can't remember her name) was very nice and chatty. I had a Bud Light for $3.50 and a combination plate with a chili relleno, enchilada and tamale for $10.50. There were free chips and salsa which were just OK. I'm not a big tamale fan but it tasted fine. This place definitely has more of a diner feel. I heard breakfast is good and very cheap but have yet to try it. I would come here again especially if I'm staying at a nearby hotel.

Consistent, consistent, consistently great. Green chile is the deal here. Ample portions seem to be the rule too. You truck people need to walk the block down here from the TA truck stop.

I had the opportunity tonight to eat at this outlet of Little Anita's, probably my favorite restaurant for Mexican/New Mexican food in the Valley. I had eaten here several years ago on a fairly regular basis when I worded near there, but since I retired, I haven't had the opportunity to be in the neighborhood. I don't think I'll be returning--at least to this location. Hubby and I were in sort of a hurry, as we had a place to be at 5:30. We walked into the restaurant at 4:50 p.m., were seated and our beverage was quickly provided. Our waitress seemed sort of reluctant even to wait on us - she sort of "shuffled" around the place and didn't seem to care of we got our food in a timely manner or not. We placed our orders, and waited...and waited...and waited. Our food was FINALLY delivered to us at about 5:18--a beef burrito and a chicken taco salad. I happen to know how long it takes to grill a chicken breast--it doesn't take 20 minutes!! Hubby said that the shredded beef in his burrito was dry and needed some sort of moisture; it tasted to me like it has been sitting and was re-heated in a microwave. Our sopapillas were cool when we got them and turned cold quickly. We had to grab our check and leave--after leaving half of our dinners on the plate because we didn't have time to finish our meals. The facility seems old, even though it was rebuilt from the ground up after a fire that destroyed in in October, 2004. The tables are covered with what I consider to be vinyl floor tile! The tile was/is sticky and definitely needs to be replaced, at least on our table. There were flies in the restaurant and one decided to make its home in the window next to our table--a very unappetizing addition to our dining experience. The manager of this facility is quite affable and very polite. He was glad to answer a couple of questions for us and was genuinely concerned that our dinner was satisfactory. All in all, this isn't a place I'll return to any time soon. The Little Anita's outlet on Coors Boulevard in the Alameda area is MUCH better, quicker, and the food seems to be better as well. And the prices at this location were higher than we have paid at the Coors location. Hmmmmm.

I've heard great things about Little Anita's, but I am not at all impressed by this location. I think this place is very commercial and just not good.

This is okay.. It's not the a Mexican food I'm use to. But if it gives me the runs, then it's authentic!! The service good and the food was hot.. Chips were okay, served with some water down salsa.. Which it's not for me. I ask for guacamole, and I got it in a small small little dish were it was scooped into.. Which the scoop size was real small.. It was even smaller then an ice cream scoop. Anyways.. Thank god cause it lack in taste too..

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
