Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the fact that they had pizza on the menu. It was the best pizza I have had since moving to Albuquerque. This will definitely be a regular dining spot.

I stopped by for lunch and had the Italian Sub sandwich, which was very large and filling. The sub bread was fresh and the Boar's Head meats (capicola & genoa salami) and provolone cheese, topped with hot peppers and oil & vinegar, was a great combinations of Italian flavors. I will be back to try some other sandwiches, have my eye on the Hot Italian Press next time.

I work around the block from this place and noticed this is a new tenant. I finally had a chance to check out this new deli. When I arrived I thought to myself is this a deli, a pizza joint, a greek restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, a bird or plane? They have a pretty comprehensive menu for a sandwich shop. Oh by the way they sell regular sandwiches too. They have a long counter at the front to order. I stood there for at least 3 minutes without anyone there to take my order. The phone starting ringing and then someone noticed I was standing there. The girl that helped me wasn't over friendly or not friendly. She was just there with a "whatever" look. No harm, no foul. You just get used to super friendly people when the restaurant is fairly new. I ended up ordering a cabana Mexicana torta. t tortas are the newest item to their big menu. As I waited for my torta, I helped myself to a salsa bar with chips. They had 3 different kinds of salsa and they were delicious. The only problem was the chips were gone, they had a passive aggressive message to not take too much chips, and the chip were those generic nacho chips you get at concession stands. Again, no harm no foul, just whatever. As I was enjoy the delicious home made salsa, I noticed there was a lot of activity in the kitchen. There must have been at least 5 people. I also noticed that my sandwich was taking a long time. So I waited. Again no harm, no foul, just whatever. When I got my sandwich I had to race back to work and unfortunately had to eat it at my desk. The sandwich was a play on a traditional Mexican torta and a Cuban sandwich. It was ok, although not amazing and being a $10 sandwich, I expected more. Oh well, No harm, no foul, just whatever. In the end the place wasn't bad or good. Just right in the middle. If you are in the area, you will have to try the pizza, sandwich, tacos, tortas, the kitchen sink....... Yes, they have it all! Cheers!

Everything I've had from this place has been great! The breakfast burritos are outstanding, as well as their subs!

I pick up lunch here about once a week. The food has been consistently good -- as well as the service. It's also nice to support a local business --instead of a chain.

Everything was fresh! The pizza, oh the pizza! I had the fish tacos today. Fish was crisp, and the variety of salsas were amazing. The owner is friendly & interactive with his customers. I'll be back to try the Cuban sandwich!

Some of the best deli/ street food in town.. Fresh fresh fresh. Unbelievable and inexpensive

DO NOT! waste your time or money here! There is more plentiful and better food to be had for the cost nearby, elsewhere! ALSO! Please take good note of the 5 star review from one of their own workers, Elijah M. Elijah M. worked the counter the day I placed and picked up my sandwich order. How shady and biased is that? It would not surprise me one bit if the other 5 star reviews were from workers of Jefferson Deli as well. Let's put 2 and 2 together, Elijah "M." and Hanif "M." Hmmm...possibly related also??? They have the same last name initial. Seems a bit shady that they all only have one or two reviews completed. My excuse, I have never wanted to let others know about my bad experiences before until my dismal sandwich purchase from Jefferson Deli. Have you seen the length of my review? It is a freaking novel. I want readers to be very well informed of my dining experiences. A quaint little sandwich shop near my place of work. However, DO NOT! let its looks deceive you. Sometimes I just do not feel like preparing a lunch for the work day. On days such as these, healthy, quick, and nearby options are good to have. With Jason's Deli, two Subway's, and HelloDeli all within minutes of each other in this area, competition for lunchtime deli dollars is tight. My first visit here, they royally messed up on my order. I ordered a "whole sub" Lean Roast Beef sub on wheat. A nicely packaged lunch time deal that comes with one side and a drink for a little over $11 bucks. What I received was "one" piece of roast beef, "one" slice of swiss cheese, one leaf of lettuce, two tomatoes, on two slices of wheat bread. Sooo soo not the "whole sub" that I had ordered. Nor did it resemble any of the staged photos currently listed for Jefferson Deli. (I do not give much weight to photos that have been uploaded of dishes on yelp. It could be the owner or workers uploading the photos. Photos uploaded are sometimes very deceiving in size. Kind of like what they do with commercials on tv. Sandwiches are shown to appear much larger than what you actually receive in person. Please take note that all photos uploaded for Jefferson Deli have been by management and one of their workers Elijah M.) The owner Hanif M., heard about my bad experience and wanted me to try them out again. Hanif M. stated that what had occurred to me, was out of the norm for their shop. I begin to question this. Especially, while I am placing my order there for the first time and inform their worker Elijah M. this. I shouldn't have to come back and try your establishment out a second time. Do me and my order right the first time and I will gladly be back, and tell my friends to do the same. There are no do-overs in life! Get real Hanif M.! Unfortunately, Jefferson Deli does not have wheat, sub-length bread. They only carry white. Grrrrrrr! I have to say the white sub bread that was used was a lot of bread. Almost too much for the sandwich. Every mouthful was full of bread. Too bready! Jefferson Deli will let you add extra toppings at no additional charge. Or at least they did for me. However, the toppings are very sparing. For $11 I could have had an entire steak from Fox & Hound across the street! Definitely much more food than what I received at Jefferson Deli. I did not think lunch meat bought in bulk was this expensive??? It seems that this business makes most of their money from their catering service. Well, they should stick with that then, and leave lunch, and dinner orders to others... Something I would like to see from this place... a beef Fajita special day. Fajita Friday or Fajita Thursday. There are no places within my work area where I can get beef fajitas. I noticed that Jefferson Deli does fajitas, but only for catering. Dos Hermanos used to do this, but sadly they are closed now. So the lunch time market for fajitas in this area is wide open. Bookmark me or add me as a favorite! More honest reviews are to come shortly.
