My wife and I stayed here for her brithday weekend, and it was a great experience. The property itself is very nice, the interior renovations they've done have left a very modern, beautiful motif to the hotel. The skybar on the roof was a great place to have a few drinks and watch the sunset. That was definitely on of the more luxurious parts ouf our stay. There are several very good restaurants within a block or two. I would reccommend Square Cow for their burgers and beer selection, and a diner called 'Milton's' across the street for a greasy, old-fashioned breakfast. The room, when we first walked in, was surprisingly small, but it really didn't hamper our enjoyment of the stay. We even had our small dog with us, (oh, yeah, the hotel is pet-friendly!), and it still proved to be a large enough space. I was surprised that there were no eggs at the breakfast buffet. The quiche was pretty good, but no eggs. Just sayin...

I submit that even travelers on a budget should consider this hotel. The free shuttle to and from the airport, and around the city, means that you don't have to pay cab fare. That alone almost makes up the price difference for the motels across the street. The continental breakfast is actually worth eating. And the hotel is located within a few minutes' walking distance of several great little shops, cafes and restaurants in Edo (East Downtown) that are way better than anything that we found in Old Town or in (overly hyped) Nob Hill. What else do you get for the price? The hotel is a renovated old hospital, so it's interesting and historic. The rooftop bar is beautiful and the drinks were fantastic, with house-made syrups and shrubs. Rooms were small but beds were really comfortable and the service was excellent. I'd stay here again if we were traveling in and out of Albuquerque.

I travel extensively for work and have seen many hotels. THIS IS THE BEST HOTEL I HAVE EVERY STAYED AT! Mu husband and I arrived a little early but had called ahead to give them fair warning. We brought our two cats and were greeted at the front door with a cart, a smile and expedited check in into our upgraded suites. They treated us like royalty. I commented to the concierge we were not anyone famous but he said that was the standard for all guests. The sundries were divine. The room was gorgeous. Seriously I can not stop gushing and have not even started on the Apothecary Lounge. As someone working in customer service I am highly critical. Even if the place was not beautiful I would go there simply for how the staff treats you. I felt like a queen. We have never thought of Albuquerque as a typical travel hotspot but will return simply for this hotel.

By far one of the best stays I have had in New Mexico. Beautifully appointed, attentive staff, and the amenities were welcomed. Opened the windows and enjoyed the city sounds. Very nice breakfast and the lounge was excellent.

This review is long overdue. On my travels through the state, I stopped at Hotel Parq for their prestigious rooftop lounge that oversee the city. The view in all the other reviews were not a lie; the view was amazing. You would be able to see all the city lights and yet have this calming silent in the background. The downside of the place is the quality of the food and drinks. I order an Ahi dish and an Old-Fashioned. The Ahi dish was fully cooked and served on tortilla chips...this is a big "NO" in my book. They just killed the Ahi dish leaving little natural flavorings. The Old Fashioned...was just not proper. The bartender did not know how to properly make one and dilute the drink. Next time I'm there, I will go behind the bar and serve a real Old-Fashioned myself. Like I said before, I came here for the view which is a 5-stars in my book, but the food and drinks are a 1-star. 3-stars is a fair conclusion to my experience.

This is, without question, the best hotel in Albuquerque. The rooms are immaculate, the staff is thoughtful and attentive, the grounds are lovely, and the roof bar is fantastic. While it is not a full service hotel (24 hour food service, pool, full restaurant) the rest of the property more than makes up for it.

Absolutely love this place! Stylish clean and classy. Checked in and was upgraded to an executive suite. The roof top bar is to die for. I will definitely be back.

Although I had read all of the great reviews about this hotel, I was still surprised at the quality of the hotel and the quality and commitment of the staff. Right from arrival, the attentiveness of the staff kicked in. There was a slight problem with check-in (apparently due to a problem with the Expedia credit card). I was prepared to make a phone call to Expedia to see what was going on but the senior staff member immediately said, no, give him his keys and get him to his room. "We will take care of this Mr. David M." and it was the last I heard of it. We get to our room and the room is very well appointed, and extremely clean. The decor is very nice, and warm and inviting. Not only is this surely one of the finer hotels in Albuquerque, but it is one of the finer hotels that my wife and I have been to. The culmination of staff, service, and detail is nothing short of extraordinary. A short list of the many room and hotel amenities Room: * Our suite had two TVs, one in the living area, one in the bedroom * Warm & inviting decor * Bed and Pillows very comfortable Hotel: * Coffee & Tea on every floor (no in-room coffee) * Free morning breakfast * Water stations everywhere * Ice pre-packaged * 24 hr Fitness center * 24 hr Business center that is unlocked * Rooftop bar and it's view are beautiful Surprisingly there were multiple functions going on including a wedding and other conferences and the hotel handled it all without issue. The whole place was charming from inside and out.

The rooftop bar has fantastic views and open to NM's beautiful skies. Be sure to dress for the weather. The calimari and the sweet potatoes fries were great. The draft Guinness was only $4. But the wait staff was stretched too thin.

While I won't actually be here in ABQ on the 4th of July, I am here tonight (July 2nd), and I was able to take advantage of their "$50 off room rates during July Independence specials." That discount along with the stellar reviews on Yelp, the central location of the hotel, free wifi, and fitness center on-site were the factors that made my decision to stay here an easy one. Of course, upon arrival, I was also impressed with the incredibly friendly staff (thanks Jeremiah), the beautifully redone modern feel, free parking, rooftop lounge, etc... I have yet to take advantage of the free continental breakfast and since Minnie didn't make the trip with me, I won't be taking advantage that they are dog-friendly this time either. I did not know upon booking my reservation that this building used to be a mental hospital. I'm trying not to let that fact creep me out. I asked downstairs if the place was haunted, and was reassured that it wasn't... phew! I have yet to test out the bed, but the bathroom amenities are fabulous including a robe, toiletries, hairdryer, etc... I had a busy day, so I anticipate sleeping well tonight regardless. Assuming so, I'd definitely stay here again and recommend you check it out as well.

This was one of the nicest dog-friendly hotels I've ever stayed. The place was clean, comfortable, well-situated near good restaurants and the employees were very nice and helpful. The rooftop bar was a great place to get a drink at sunset (although less of a great place to get food in general). The complimentary breakfasts in the morning were delicious. I've stayed at a lot of hotels across the country and abroad, and this was one of the most enjoyable stays I've had, especially when you figure in the very reasonable price. My husband and I actually altered our itineraries just to be able to stay here an extra night as it was so relaxing.

This hotel is s I loved it! There is a rooftop bar and a jacuzzi. The weird thing is that the jacuzzi did not have any lights. The rooftop bar was also interesting too. It was raining that night, so everything was wet. It was not ask fancy as I imagined, but it is a place that does it's duty. The staff at Hotel Parq is extrememly helpful and courteous. The room was clean and well dressed. I loved the bottles of shampoo, condiiton, and lotion. Thanks Hotel Parq for making my stay comfortable. I only stayed here one night on my way to Santa Fe and cross country. I If I go back to Albequerque I will stay at Hotel Parq Central again. *They offer a government rate.*

Fantastic Hotel!!! Fantastic Service, wonderfully decorated, super clean and beyond comfortable, it's a luxury experience. The hotel is pet friendly beyond pet friendly, they love animals! and even have their own wonderful border collie that lives there when his owner is working. They are also military friendly, and have a gov rate. This is now my hotel whenever I stay in Albuquerque whether traveling with pets or not. The Apothecary lounge roof top patio is a perfect place for a relaxing view of the city night lights, the food was good and the drinks were great. It has an upbeat contemporary vibe. Again, the service and attention to detail that the staff and ownership provides just were great - thank you Parq Central - looking forward to my next trip to Albuquerque to stay with you! :)

I can honestly say that in all my travels, I have never stayed at a hotel I loved so much and felt so at home in and I've stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world. Quick side note about cost: They do offer a military discount, which is cheaper than any of the travel sites, if you call in. 1st impression of neighborhood was shady lady...however I had heard the same from other reviewers and it didn't seem to deter them..and after becoming more familiar with the area, it didn't seem so bad. Upon check in we were escorted to our room by the gentleman at the front desk. He was very informative about the hotel, gave us the history and the renovation; informed us about where the hot tub and gym were on the premises...both of which were avail for use 24/7, which I thought was awesome since so most hotels put restrictions on hours of use for such amenities. He even complimented my husband on his vintage Jordan's which made my husband feel like he was very attentive (and worthy of mentioning in this review). The first night of our stay we decided to check out a nearby pizzeria and the front desk informed us that they would be more than happy to drive us in the hotel's Tahoe, as the pizzeria was within the radius the hotel offers free transport to. We thought that was a nice gesture. After our dinner we realized that downtown really wasn't too far from the hotel, which was a pleasant surprise. It was just far enough away from all the noise and commotion of the downtown bars, but within walking distance to the hotel. Our room was on the backside of the hotel which we requested to avoid any street noise and for a better view; it had a nice view of the down stairs outdoor patio area. My husband and I loved the Apothecary Lounge (hotel bar) upstairs. Unfortunately it was far too windy to enjoy the outdoor rooftop part, however, we did venture outside just to check it out and the view was amazing and the furniture was comfy. The bar tenders later in the evening were very sociable and fun to visit with. They gave us great insight on local hot spots for food and drink. The room wasn't enormous, but it offered everything we needed. One drawback we noticed was although the bathroom was beautiful, the large window in the bathroom was directly across from the toilet which meant that our shade allowing natural light in was almost always closed...it would be nice to have a bottom up shade to still allow light in. My husband and I both just appreciated the uniqueness in the decor and thought that went into keeping with the theme of a renovated old hospital. The continental breakfast wasn't anything to be overly excited about. The second day we were disappointed to find that the milk, although presented nicely was warm by the time we poured it over our cereal...not so delicious. They did however offer some delicious quiches and pastries. Overall our stay was very pleasant. Because it is a smaller hotel we really felt as though we got to enjoy the staff and thought everyone we had the pleasure of visiting with was very friendly and hospitable. Staff was always smiling. Even though we were only there for a weekend, the staff made us feel like they had known us for a long time. We will definitely stay here again when we are visiting the area!

What a find! We were rolling through and decided to stop here after reading all the great reviews, I'm so glad we did. Parking was free and well lit, something that was very important when driving two cars full of valuables on a cross country move. We stayed in the king room, supposedly their base offering, but it felt like sweet paradise after the other roadside motels we'd been crashing at - and it was the same price! The room had amazing high ceilings, a giant comfy bed, coat hooks, robes with terry insides, a bathroom with a big glass shower and all the little doodads needed to get comfy. The bathroom was also equipped with an under-cabinet nightlight that allowed middle of the night visits without blinding yourself or stumbling in the dark. Very clean, free wifi, and full of little extras to make your stay comfy. I'd try one of their upscale offerings next time just to see what else they've got up their sleeves. We were a bit peckish after checking in so we headed up to the Apothecary bar on the fourth floor. I'll have to write a separate review for that, but suffice it to say that was exactly what we needed. Hand mixed cocktails with top shelf liquor all for about $11 a pop. Plymouth gin was a common ingredient, my favorite! Big points there. We also ordered some tapas-esque food - if you're looking for dinner, this isn't really a dinner in the steak and potatoes sense, think more light fare and tapas to accompany an ample drink menu. Let's repeat that, ample drink menu. Oh, and the view! What an awesome spot to sit next to the giant windows and enjoy the sunset! Breakfast the next morning puts most hotels to shame - quiche freshly warmed by the slice, mixed fruit (not just melon but grapes, apples, blueberries, kiwi!), pastries, oatmeal, cereal, eggs, sides, really the whole nine yards. Juice and milk are served in metal pitchers and freshly brewed coffee in white diner mugs is off to the side. Throw in one of the friendliest breakfast attendants, who comes around to check on you and offer to get anything else you'd like, and I'm sold. It was also included in the room rate, just say your room number and you're on your way. Really a top notch boutique hotel that can be had for about $140/night and feels like it should be in the $300+ range and would easily fit into San Francisco, Portland, or NYC boutique markets. Should you ever find yourself in Albuquerque, definitely stop in, even if you don't stay the night grab a drink on the top floor lounge and enjoy the drinks and view. If ever I'm in Albuquerque again, you'll find me here.

After getting thoroughly fisted by America West Airlines... and arriving WAAAAAAAAAY late into the early morning into ABQ... I found refuge at Hotel Parq Central Hotel. Lemmmme TEEELLLL YOU.... I'm so glad I did. This is posh, plush, make you squirm-like-a-ho-in-heat-comfy hotel!!! Never mind it once housed cray-crays.... IIIIIIi Know. Crazy Right? Anywhos - staff was quite friendly, despite my visual appearance... (They understood my plight). The room was clean. Clineque Clean. The shower was engulfing to the point of a comfortable drowning.... the Bed... OH... The bed hugged alllll my curves.... with no judgement or protest. Love this place.....

BEWARE THE BUGS!!! I checked into the Hotel Parq Central in Albuquerque, NM, on October 29th, 2013, at approximately 1:15pm. I had reserved a king cottage suite and was assigned to room 403. Upon entering the room, I unpacked a few toiletries and then laid down for a nap before dinner. An hour later, I awoke with six red itchy bites along my left hip and upper thigh. I threw back the sheets and coverlet and found four dead black bugs. I wrapped the bugs carefully in a tissue for close inspection at home. I then quickly packed up all of my items, left the room, and returned my keycard to the front desk. I explained to the two young ladies at the front desk what had occurred and that I was quickly leaving before any bugs could get into my belongings and transfer themselves to my home. The desk clerks did not seem surprised but did apologize. I have taken photos of both the bugs and the bites. Upon close inspection and internet research, three of the four bugs do indeed seem to be bedbugs. I would advise potential guests of the Hotel Parq Central to exercise extreme caution should you choose to stay there. The possibility of transporting these horrid insects home in your luggage is not a happy thought! As an added bonus, the Hotel Parq Central went right ahead and charged my credit card the full $314.26 for an hour nap and six itchy bites!!

If you like boutique hotels with personality that are still clean, efficient and up-to-date, then the Parq Central is a real jewel you will appreciate. Conveniently located pretty much in the center of Albuquerque near, but not in, downtown, this re-purposed psychiatric hospital revels in its quirkiness. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the Apothecary Lounge on the roof really does have lovely view of the city. The lounge seems to be a local hot spot - one evening I took the elevator to the lobby and when the doors opened i was confronted with a group of locals headed up to the bar. That part was pretty frequent, but this time the group consisted of 1920's zombie gangsters with their molls and one zombie gangster bulldog on a leash. They don't have restaurant, but the dining room is open for a tasty continental breakfast. I was there for a week and would definitely go back. p.s., the staff admitted to me that the ghost is pretty much a PR thing - none of them had ever seen it.

For perspective I just drove from Los Angeles to Albuquerque straight though and all I need is a decent place to get some rest. I hit the lottery with The Parq Central. Dig it. Not much could have kicked this superstar short term stay out of 5 star territory. But it didn't have a mini bar so i knocked one down. It was well managed, easy to find right off the highway, had secure parking, and the most pleasant check in after midnight I've had in a while. Very clean, well organized and thought out. A big KING bed right in the middle, a place to charge all of my stuff and an overwhelming sense of the peaceful nights rest I am about to have. I would not hesitate to refer or recommend this hotel to anyone. Is is a bargain right in the heart of the city and I give major props to everyone who works here. Kudos for a job well done. For those that like detail. Fair to large size room with a King size right were it needs to be. What looks looks like a 27" tv on the wall, great bathroom with amenities and all painted and adorned in a pleasant neutral tone. Charging station for various electronics excellent add on. Unless the sleep is no good this review will stand as my testament to it's lofty status in my book.

We stayed here on 1.3.13. This place used to be a mental hospital for children and I was dreading the thought of staying here. My wife had read about this hotel and informed me of the rumors of it being haunted. Ghosts seem to be attracted to me and I'm not thrilled about this. Fortunately, they left me alone. The first thing I noticed about the Parq is how clean the outside was and how cool was the architecture. We went inside and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They showed us two rooms. We opted for the executive king suite. The entire building had been renovated over a three year period. The attention to detail here is impressive. The rooms are not huge. They're not meant to be huge. They're meant to be waaay cool. That's exactly what they are. Everything is high end including the towels, sheets, shampoo, soap, bathrobe, fixtures, bed and the rest of the furniture. You can just see how much quality is there in every corner of the room. I wish we'd had more time to stay here but we only had one night to spare. The Apothecary Lounge is on the top floor and they have enough food and drinks to keep you from having to go anywhere. Breakfast includes quiche, which is VERY yummy (we had two servings). If you want large rooms cluttered with furniture, a microwave and a coffee maker... go to a chain hotel. If you want an affordable EXPERIENCE... stay here. I would love to stay here again.

This is a really nice, clean and comfortable hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar is something you want to check out. Free breakfast was good and it lasted until 12:00 on Saturday. They have coffee and tea stations on each floor. Hot tub is on the smaller size but is open 24 hours. Our bathroom was large and clean. The room was big too. We did find what looked like a blood stain on one of the pillows though..... Otherwise probably would have given 5 stars. You can walk to a few restaurants near by and all the ones we tried were really good. The neighborhood looks a little rough but we didn't have any problems walking around. I would stay here again.

Simply one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at (and I've stayed at a few). From comfort, cleanliness, service, quality and variety of food, this place is simply exceptional! Don't miss the fourth floor roof lounge.

Very cool and hip hotel. One of the first things I notice are the toiletries and they didn't disappoint with C.O. Bigelow lavender/peppermint shampoos and bath gels. The rooms are kind of spare but I like that. Large glass showers and minimal furnishings. There is a complimentary breakfast in the lobby daily. The coffee was good and they had cereals, quiche, fruit, muffins, etc. There is also a coffee and tea bar on each floor in the morning. The front desk staff are extremely nice, helpful and fun to talk with. If I am back in this area, I wouldn't hesitate to return here.

Why can't my grad school dorms look like the "doctor's quarters" in the back? Old, romantic, pretty. Lots of windows and attention to detail. This is a place where you live, not just pass through, so I am very sad I am not residing here. I chose this place initially just because of the location - it is on Central Ave. which is a street with a seemingly endless row of shops, cafes, restaurants, clubs, etc. But, and maybe this is just because I am not a local, but walking in the direction of all of that, especially going through the underpass did not seem very safe, at least in the day. It's just there weren't that many people around besides homeless people and drug-dealer-looking people, but you know, maybe there were neither because sometimes I get artistic looking people mixed up. But it doesn't matter, because the hotel is a lovely place to never leave. There are ROBES in the bathroom, peoples, and refrigerator, and big windows, and just pretty and cute and kind of rustic everything. The host was so gorgeous and nice (especially since I accidentally bumped my beach cruiser wheel into her ankle - sorriez). But anyway, there is a hot tub and lots of pretty flowers and Christmas lights, and I love it. So unique and welcome after the 4 hour stretch of hot desert without any compelling stops. And there is a yoga studio across the street. And a vegan restaurant (the Mint Tulip) further down about 1.3 miles away.

I've stayed at the Parq Central three times now, so this review is overdue. I love staying at this hotel - it's always such a pleasurable experience. That experience starts with the staff. They are consistently friendly and welcoming. I also have to say that I'm in love with the decor and design elements. It is a wonderful mix of old and new, with motifs and artwork that incorporates and highlights the historical aspects of the building. There is also a light and airy sunroom towards the back of the hotel, with succulent plants and palms, among others. The chaise loungers here are a perfect place to work or relax. The outdoor patio is also a beautiful place to take in the warm sunshine, with a fountain, landscaping and tables with umbrellas. The rooms are stylish and, importantly, very clean. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the Bigelow products (shampoo, lotion, soap, etc.) are of good quality. The fitness center is in a separate building (a very short walk across the parking lot) and is small, but adequate. One of my favorite aspects about this hotel is the complimentary breakfast. I have been consistently impressed with the offerings, which include two different types of quiche (and which the hostess will gladly warm for you). In addition to that, there is a wide variety of delicious and flaky pastries and muffins, as well as fresh fruit, cereals, and coffee. I also like the fact that the ambient music they play is all classic crooner stuff from circa 1940s. I always look forward to my stay. Parq Central, please don't change.

I stay in Albuquerque for work periodically, and usually stay at one of the big chain hotels. Decided to check out the Parq Central after reading reviews on Trip Advisor, and boy am I glad I did. This place is awesome. Recently opened in a historic building (built in the 1920's, the building used to be a hospital), this hotel is unique, sexy and stylish. Has a grand, elegant look from the outside, and the interior is decorated in a very hip, contemporary way. The Room: Definitely not your cookie-cutter standard room, the rooms here have an interesting layout with amazing appointments and unique, high end furniture. The bed was super comfy, with nice linens and great pillows. There is a good sized flat screen HD TV, and an iHome clock radio/iPod player and charger. The bathroom is so nice you want to spend extra time in there, with a huge stall shower with "rainfall" shower head and nice tile. There are ample oversized, soft towels and even two bathrobes. The bath products are C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries, which fits in well with the style of this hotel. Unlike most other hotels, Parq Central comes with a long list of FREE amenities, which include: Free in-room wi-fi, 24-hour Jacuzzi, 24-hour gym (a bit small though), free parking, and free continental breakfast that included hot items like quiche and frittata's. There is also an amazing bar on the top floor that has a roof-top patio overlooking downtown. We enjoyed a few drinks at the Apothecary Lounge and had a great experience (the mixologist made custom cocktails for us based on what we told him we liked - they were great). Definitely plan on staying here every time I come to Albuquerque.

Great staff. Fast check-in. A true boutique hotel in an odd, yet perfect location (an old hospital). I loved the personal service and the design/decor. The designer kept hospital touches here and there, but used modern styling throughout. I stayed in the doctors overnight building where the original woodwork was the star. Quiet and comfy and modern facilities. If you are looking for a city getaway, stay here.

Just loved this hotel! To start with, the rooftop bar offers fantastic views and some very interesting drinks. The waitstaff was very friendly and offered lots of useful tips for our first time in Albuquerque. The character of this place is just so cool. They made a real effort to make it a unique hotel and maintain the hospital history! We truly enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff at the front desk was amazing. We decided on mass transit to get around and with a local bus stop right out front, it couldn't have been easier. We were pointed to some great options for sight seeing, restaurants and even some excellent motorcycle rides (we rented one for a day). All the staff was very friendly. (Special kudos to the young gentleman at the front desk that graciously took pictures of a rather "wild" bridal shower party!) Walking distance to the main train station, downtown, UNM and Nob Hill (almost?!). The little extras they provide in the room, the usual shampoo, conditiioner, etc., but make up remover pad, q-tips, nail file, magnified mirror, etc. was just a great bonus. We didn't know too much about the neighborhoods around Albuquerque with respect to safety (honestly, we didn't find a bad one in our travels) but Hotel Parq Central felt very safe to us. There were weddings both weekends we were there but even with the reception room directly below us, we were not in the least bothered by the noise or the commotion! And a beautiful place for weddings as well! This is a definite must when we return!

This is definitely my favorite hotel in ABQ. I have stayed at other, more expensive hotels, but I feel like I've finally found my home away from home. I have to come to ABQ about once a month, so it's important for me to find a nice place to stay. This place has a great feel to it. It's in the middle of the city, which suits me fine as I'm not on vacation. It has great Wifi, which is really important to me. The staff is so welcoming, they take you up to your room and explain the hotel features. The decor here is perfect. It is just really homey. At other hotels, if the furniture is in any way marred, I come to think of it as shabby. But not this hotel. Any signs of wear (there aren't many) in the furnishings just make the hotel that much more charming. The word oasis truly does fit this hotel. Room service was good too. The room was very clean. I just love this place. :)

Hands down the best rooftop bar in Albuquerque. Great retrofit building gets you to the old Albuquerque with a unique vantage point! Appetizers were great! Such a Gem for our little city.

Got a good deal on a room rate via Expedia and I have to say this boutique hotel didn't disappoint. Conveniently located in between the university and downtown and not far from the airport this was a convenient location. The point of difference here: service, service, service. Right at check in you already feel pampered with the staff taking the time to walk you on a tour of the hotel and to your room. Room was clean with excellent bedding, shower and bath products. The highlight: breakfast. Although the room rate states continental breakfast this is definitely an outstanding and upgraded continental breakfast with quiche, hard boiled eggs and amazing pastries. I couldn't resist the almond croissant. From top to bottom, a five stars experience throughout the stay. The only downside to be aware of, the proximity to I 25 may have an impact on noise level and quality of sleep if you are a light sleeper.

Very nice hotel!!! This is an old hospital and has the remnants of that history placed throughout the hotel in a modern way. Nice continental breakfast and nice rooms! Would highly recommend staying here!

we stayed at the Hotel and went to the bar. The place itself is pretty cool, the service was spotty because they had lost a bartender and a waiter or someone(?) was filling in. He didnt ask for ID or knew what drinks we ordered and what we owed in the end. So it came out all free... which was great for us, bad for them. The drinks were VERY pricey.

Lovely hotel that has proven to be a great addition to the heart of the Duke City. Comfortable in every aspect and worth the $$$! Located immediately next to I-25, but traffic noise is nonexistent. Free Wi-Fi? No, you are not dreaming.

My boyfriend and I spent the Saturday night at Parq Central after arriving from a long flight, needless to say we were very tired and were both looking forward to a night of peaceful relaxation. However, that was not the case. Our room was on the third floor, right under the hotel lounge. All night we could hear tables and chairs sliding and guests being LOUD. We called the front desk around 8 and the women at the desk said it would be dying down soon, we believed her mostly because it was rainy and windy and who wants to be outside during a rainstorm with 30mph winds? So we left to dinner came back and got ready for bed, and it was still loud as ever! Finally fed up, around 12:30 we called again. A different person answered and he said the bar would be closing soon and it would end. At that point, we requested a different room. They offered us a room in a different building and the first floor. There was no way we'd saunter across a dark parking lot at midnight in our pajamas, so we took the first floor room. I really wanted to like this place, it's chic, clean, and conveniently located, the staff was accommodating, but having a bar on property takes away from its so called urban-oasis. I feel lied to.

Great new hotel off I-25 in downtown Albuquerque ten minutes from airport. Great roof bar with view; terrific breakfast. Rooms are large and well appointed. Very comfy beds recommend the slightly more expensive business suite.

Hotel Parq Central was once Memorial Hospital which served psychiatric patients. And before even that history, it was a hospital that served the rail road workers circa 1920s. It has been the subject of paranormal investigations. Many of us New Mexicans who are familiar with this property were a bit spooked yet intrigued by the renovated boutique hotel called Hotel Parq Central. I was familiar with Memorial Hospital and visited clients there who were inpatient for psychiatric needs. I and a team of curious friends ventured there on Halloween night (of their opening year) to take in the atmosphere. It was decorated a tad bit for Halloween; however, it was cold and aloof. The bright lightening was even brighter and harsher then your office space. The decor was stylish yet cold and somewhat inviting. A few fixtures were falling off of the walls, but it was probably because it was so new. All of that falls aside; however, when you step out of the balcony of the bar and see the romantic and one of a kind view of downtown Albuquerque. That is a must see, especially at night when you go to Hotel Parq Central. The bar is nice, even nicer is the fact that you can sit on amazingly comfy furniture on the balcony and enjoy it even better. They offer full service outside as well. The drinks and food are stylish as well, and a bit pricey but worth the view alone. It offers upscale selections - delish appetizers and any drink you can think up. We ran the hallways to get a peek at any ghosts, and before we were asked what we were doing there, we got a peek at a room. It too was cold and aloof with that ultra bright lighting. I am a fan of soft lighting and lush atmosphere, so this wasn't my taste. Opinions aside, you must see this sight if you are ever in Albuquerque, NM. Oh... and we never saw a ghost.

I found this place online because I was going to be driving through Alburquerque on a road trip. Upon arriving the staff greeted us and explained a little bit about the hotel and the amenities included. Our room was very clean and had the perfect balance of charm. The shower was great and it didn't feel like a hotel shower, which can always be a disappointment when on the road. We had dinner at the rooftop bar called Apothecary - if it wasn't January I am sure sitting outside would have been beautiful. The staff were all friendly and helpful giving us the local perspective of the area and clearly seemed to enjoy their job. Complimentary breakfast in the morning as well which is always a bonus. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone passing through!!!

The service at this hotel is great. The staff is really nice and accommodating. The Shuttle drivers to and from the hospital have been excellent every day. The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious. I am enjoying the wifi as I type this. I love the style of the hotel. Down to the details it is very well decorated. The sitting areas out back, on the roof, and inside are all very comfortable. The really uncomfortable looking chairs by the front desk are my favorite by far. I need some of them for my house! The restaurant on the roof has great appetizers and drinks. Breakfast is good, but being able to pour my coffee on my floor before I even take the elevator to breakfast is awesome. Recommendations: The sun in this state is intense so I wish some of the more plush chairs outside had umbrellas or overhangs like the ones on the roof. The only thing I really wish they had at breakfast is a waffle machine like the Best Westerns have. The pocket doors for the bathrooms glide so smoothly they slam shut with a big bang if they get away from you, and they can be hard to get out of their pockets. In conclusion this is a beautifully decorated piece of history that I highly recommend. I will be staying here again.

The Parq Hotel is very nice for a small boutique type hotel. Rooms are bit large but are well kept and clean. Done well from a hospital to hotel. We were not impressed with the restaurant on the fourth floor at all. Food not good at all. The view etc from the deck area was very nice but too hot for us to set out there. We stayed for two nites and we were ok with the hotel but not the restaurant food. Too yuppie for us to return!!

Beautiful boutique hotel. Wonderful quiet rooms, helpful staff, gourmet continental breakfast with homemade quiche and fresh pastries included, free parking, free wifi .Location could be better but when you are on the hotel grounds they are so beautiful you hardly notice and very close to downtown restraunts and clubs. Defiantly will stay again. Nicest hotel in Albuquerque by far.

The venue is cool. A nice rooftop bar with inside and outside areas. The prices are a little high. They don't serve anything hot so don't go during winter. Don't be fooled by the great downtown scenery. This place can be a pain too. The wait staff doesn't really listen to you. They act like they just want to get out of there. And the manager isn't much better. I walked in with a hat on and a waitress walked up to me. She said, "my manager asked me to take off your hat, but you are more than welcome to wear it outside." I said ok not a problem and went outside since that's where I was headed anyway. After a while the manager comes out and says, "take off your hat!" To which I replied (as I took off my hat), "Sorry about that, I didn't know it applied outside too. Your waitress had told me it was ok." And he said, "I've told you twice now, remove the hat or I'll escort you out." Yeah that was sort of a Super Troopers moment. I can't remove my hat any further than it being off my head. Great venue but the staff just hasn't ever been friendly. It might just be my bad luck. I've heard others say how much they like it.

It was a pure pleasure staying here. The rooms were thoughtfully designed and it felt so relaxing: the bed, pillows, comforter, shower!! They have fresh coffee made every morning on each floor @ 6 AM. Usually hotel coffee is pretty weak -- comparable to gas station coffee. The coffee here was fantastic, as well as their complementary breakfast that had very homemade quiche. Really nice. We wanted to watch a DVD we brought with us and the staff was so obliging. They even brought an extra TV to our room with cables to hook up to our computer. The top floor is a great, relaxed bar/lounge. Unfortunately, it was too cold to enjoy the really awe-inspiring roof top lounge. Good IPA on tap. The design elements in the bathrooms and throughout are unique and caused me to pause and appreciate them. Such a neat hotel

Great boutique hotel! The customer service was excellent during my 2 night stay. The hotel itself is very modern, chic, clean, and tastefully decorated. The room was a bit small, but adequate. The bathroom was very nice and quite roomy with a large stand up shower. The toiletries were great (Bigelow apothecaries); towels were Frette brand (very plush); two bathrobes in the room. Hotel offers a nice free breakfast. Parking is free. Location is close to the airport. The lounge on the top floor is great too. The rooftop seating area has a great view of the city; food and drinks were yummy; and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area. This hotel beat my expectations.

I had the pleasure of staying here on my recent trip to Albuquerque and it made me depressed to go home. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the staff was always extremely helpful, and the free breakfast food they made was far better then anything I have bought in restaurants. I would not hesitate to go back whenever I am visiting this area.

This place fooled me into thinking that Albuquerque was as stylish and service oriented as a modern New York hotel, and perhaps friendlier. It's super-comfortable, beautifully designed, and there are more amenities than it seemed possible to take advantage of in the two nights we spent there. I always appreciate when the clock radio has an iPhone/iPod dock. Wish I had gotten a massage. Staff was cordial and helpful, water by the front desk and coffee service on every floor is a great idea--the coffee is also tasty and strong, which is remarkable outside bigger cities. I did some laundry while I went to the gym and everything worked well and did not take too long. The Apothecary bar on the 4th floor has stunning views of downtown ABQ and the Sandias, but they also have a great drink menu and really excellent bar food, which is impressive since usually no one bothers to make bar food anything special. The buffalo sliders, the calamari, and the fries were superb. Bummer that they don't have a pool, but we did take full advantage of the hot tub.

Staying at this hotel over the weekend was one of the best experiences I have ever had. The architecture of the hotel, the staff, and the little design details really made this stay fantastic. The staff was extremely helpful even in response to very odd requests. We even had a hotel staffer come to our room with a bottle opener (which we had asked for) and wine glasses and other amenities (which we hadn't thought to ask for). They gave us a number of great tourist and shopping suggestions and were very accommodating when we wanted to switch rooms. They provided great history of the hotel and the area. The breakfast was great and I missed the variety when I returned home where I had no fresh fruit, quiches, or breads. Considering how close we were to the highway, we were shocked to realize that we couldn't hear it at all. The details of this hotel are also amazing. Each floor has niches with pieces from the time period when the building was a working hospital. Inside the rooms there are postcards from the the hospital and other details that really play on the hotel once being a railroad hospital. In the lobby, there are tons of photos from the time period and other historical items. We also felt the hotel was centrally located. In one direction, you could walk towards downtown and enjoy some of the bars and restaurants available. Our favorite was the Holy Cow, conveniently located one block away. In the other direction, you pass the hospital and enter Nob Hill where there are plenty of dining and shopping places to be found. We also found it easy to hop on the highway and drive to local tourist spots such as the Sandia tram. I definitely recommend this hotel.

New boutique hotel in Albuquerque centrally located downtown near the rail runner. Beautifully renovated historic building, fabulous attention to every detail, free breakfast and free parking. Super comfy rooms and they will drive you to the airport. Don't miss the fun bar on the roof. This hotel is one of the best reasons to visit Albuquerque.

My 4-night stay here was one of my best hotel experiences of all time. The hotel was beautifully decorated and always immaculate. The staff, especially Gabe and Lauren, were very helpful. I can't say enough good things about the complimentary breakfast (much classier than your average continental) and the 24-hour hot tub. The rooftop bar has an outdoor terrace overlooking the city, there are computers and a printer for guests, parking is free, and the C.O. Bigelow toiletries were much appreciated. The hotel was surprisingly quiet for being so close to an interstate. It's always a pleasure to stay in a repurposed building, too.

We stayed at Hotel Parq Central twice during a tour of the state of New Mexico. Let me start off by saying that Albuquerque is kind of a dump, but this hotel is the one thing that made me love Albuquerque. Formerly a hospital (and a pediatric psych ward I later found out!), the building was turned into a hotel in 2010. The hotel offers great views from the guest rooms. The common areas are clean and new with stylish furniture. The staff was very attentive and courteous at all times. The rooms, while small, featured super comfortable beds, a great LCD TV, and wonderful bathrooms with large showers. The bath products were also top notch and didn't dry out my skin or hair. The rooftop lounge was beautiful and offered great rooms of the city. Parking was free (yay!). The complimentary breakfast was exceptional...freshly baked quiche with fruit, yogurt, cereals (by Kashi as well as some regular ones), oatmeal, juice bar, etc. The only "relative downside" was the hotel location...it is right off I-25 near downtown but not really within walking distance of anything. As long as you have a car, you'll be fine though. Would love to stay here again.

Recently 2010 created hotel in a former old 1920's hospital. Hard to call it a boutique because it is big, otherwise the term holds. Architect-ed in keen style drawing on themes from the old hospital; cabinets in the halls hold artwork on 1920's clothing or aromatherapy. The rooms are fine with toiletries from Bigelows (an old Greenwich Village Pharmacy, nice touch), modern art, big beds, iHome clocks. Couldn't be better for a romantic romp, though served for a business trip. Free Wifi. No Pool, but 24 hour hot tub and a servable gym in the old boiler room. A high style bar on the top floor with outdoor lounge chairs to watch the sunset and amazing clouds; had some of the most beautiful people that I've seen (ever) in there. Seems to be undiscovered. AAA rates offered for rooms - price is a steal for a hotel this fine, and you get a good breakfast thrown in. The neighborhood is at the cusp of starting a transition from trash, but still not much here, though one could easily make this a base for walks to clubing downtown or a quick drive to Nob Hill. Right next to I25. The area is still a medical area, with various hospitals and therapy places nearby. Also next door is a Hot Yoga place, which I'm thinking of trying.

This is a really beautiful hotel. Renovated in 2010, the rooms are stylishly finished and the common areas are light and airy. The architecture and landscaping are gorgeous. The Apothecary Shop offers great bar food and well crafted cocktails. My husband and I enjoyed everything we ordered. The customer service was also excellent. I have a 5 month old baby and the staff had no problems with us putting him in his little chair and feeding him while we enjoyed our refreshments. So, 5 stars to the lovely employees up on the roof. I deducted stars for the following reasons: - I made a reservation for a room with a king sized bed but we were assigned a room with a queen sized bed and when we called to ask about it we were dismissed. The info at the front desk reflected a king sized bed and that was that. There was no offer to move us to a different room. The front desk person actually told my husband that there weren't any queen sized beds in the hotel, which is obviously untrue. So, heads up, room 2-201 has a queen sized bed. - Breakfast sucked. Good thing it was complimentary. The spread of mixed pastries, fruit, yogurt etc. looked great but everything was old and stale. The quiche on offer was rubbery and the fruit was mushy. My husband and I decided to head to Weck's for breakfast instead. It was a pretty hotel in a neat location but we received better customer service from the hotel staff at Hotel Andaluz and will stay there on our next visit to ABQ

I looked around online for a long while before booking at Parq Central. I am glad I chose it! From the amazing roof deck bar to the delicious breakfast on the patio, we were super pleased. The staff was all super friendly and very helpful. Our room was a bit on the small side, but given how nice the place was, we didn't mind. Excellent mattresses and pillows, too. We had a fantastic romantic weekend here, I would most definitely stay here again!

We love this place!!! It's a beautiful hotel, we've stayed here 7 times in the last 3 years. It's decorated great. Amenities are clean neat and updated. The main building offers a rooftop bar with amazing views and a really cute breakfast room. They allow small dogs which is great because we usually have our 2 little ones. We rant and rave to all our friends how cute this hotel is. They've done an incredible job with the remodel. It's so tasteful, the outside garden is even cute! And the sweet dog at the desk is the perfect greeter! It's truly a gem in Albuquerque, New Mexico! (Your best option for an overnight stay!!) So, This trip we didn't luck out. We were put in the little exterior building out back, 1st floor. We found a huge moth when we walked in. My mom caught it and took it outside. She no sooner left and came back and there was another one. Not sure where these things were staked out but before we shut our eyes she took out 7 of them!!!!! Gross!! Also our toilet ran all night long. The hotel was full so we didn't get our typical room in the main building first floor. (We prefer that, never had an issue) We called the desk and no manager was on duty last night, this morning my mother spoke to Yancy. He took off the pet fee to compensate for our moths! And Chris pine walked by! I'd give a 5 star pre this visit but between the toilet and having to be an exterminator before we could sleep peacefully knocked down the ratings this trip!

I travel quite a bit in my job. I cannot estimate the number of hotels I have stayed in over the years, but I've stayed in some awfully good ones. I can honestly write that the Hotel Parq Central is in my top 5 all-time positive hotel stays. It's hard to know where to start. I guess with the building itself. The architecture is captivating: a utilitarian Spanish style that really catches the eye. The grounds are beautiful, with the building surrounded by locust, crepe myrtle and Bougainvillea. Parking was right on site and was easy. Inside, they have done an amazing job of renovating the building. The common areas are beautifully appointed and comfortable....it was hard to decide whether to sit inside or outside to relax. The job they did of incorporating the old railroad hospital equipment into the theme was impressive. My corner room on the third floor was equally impressive. The decoration and finish was bright, airy and comfortable. The furniture was perfect for the theme as well. The mattress was very, very comfortable. The bathroom was excellently appointed. One thing of note: in keeping with the hospital theme...my room was a clean as a surgical suite. It is probably the cleanest hotel room I have ever been in. The smell of the entire building was very, very fresh. I was concerned about noise, due to the hotel's proximity to the Interstate...I needn't have been, the room was very quiet. The Apothecary Bar was wonderful. The bartenders there are not a bunch of amateurs...they know how to mix a drink, and they have a great selection of infused spirits. The food I had in the bar was quite good...some of the best calamari I have had. The views from the rooftop part of the bar were wonderful. Every staff member I met was so accommodating and friendly. Truly nice people. The free breakfast they provide wasn't your usual "free hotel breakfast" fare....quiche, excellent pastries, fruit...and some of the best coffee I've had in a while. What really surprised me was the rate for all of this....less than you pay for 2 or 3 star standard travel hotels....when you're getting top quality accommodations. The only downside to my stay: when I had to check out...I didn't want to leave.

Hotel Parq Central is the only hotel I'll stay at when I'm in Albuquerque for business. Don't let the fact that this place was once a sanatorium freak out out - HPC is a lovely renovated boutique hotel. And the fact the company I work for gets a special discount for this hotel gets nothing but two thumbs up! C.O. Bigelow toiletries in the bathroom, huge rainhead shower, and some of the most comfy beds / bedding you'll ever have the pleasure of resting your pretty little head on. Free shuttle to and from the airport - Didn't take advantage of this as I had a rental car. The grounds are beautiful, it's relatively quiet at night, pet-friendly, and decent free breakfast in the morning. Let's not forget the Apothecary Lounge and Rooftop Bar upstairs. Even if you don't have a drink, at least go upstairs to get a great view of the city. Every employee I encountered was incredibly helpful and kind. Skip Embassy Suites and stay at HPC on your next visit to the 505! It's a breath of fresh air!

LOVE this place. It has such a great history. Amenities were first class and the staff was great. Small details made a big impact. 24hr coffee bar. Apothecary Lounge was great. Food was amazing and the location on the roof was a bonus. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Pleasantly surprised. I chose this place partially because it is #1 on TripAdvisor. I have still had bad experiences so I read through many property reviews first. It was just a 1 night stop but I wanted to feel safe and get what I paid for. The front desk clerk walked us to our room while explaining features along the way. Very clean and exceptionally friendly staff. I will rate the lounge separately though because that's the only place I had issue with. Room was clean and we'll decorated. Bathroom was clean, it is a non smoking property and water was still available in the lobby at 11pm! No issue with pet smell. I highly recommend it, I am glad we came off the 40 to find this.

I give this place 2 stars because that is what it is i.e. a 2 star hotel. No real complaints about my stay, however the 4 star rating it boasts plus the price I paid ($140) vs. the big name hotels in the same area at a much lower price, I would choose a holiday inn, sheraton, hyatt, etc. Those hotels were 2.5-3 stars and roughly 40-50$ cheaper and I would have been much MUCH more satisfied. Old, not modern, small rooms, and smells of its former hospital use. I say lower the rating and the rates and it would be acceptable.

This recently remodeled hotel is like an oasis of modern in an otherwise dated Albuquerque. Although the hotel is modern and clean it has some negative aspects that are enough to keep me from staying here again. Staff is friendly but not very knowledgeable. When we asked about things to do or see in the area no one really knew much. They just Googled our question on their computer and printed up some information for us. That was nice of them but we could have done the same. It would be nice too if the hotel offered more in the way of amenities. They have a small detached gym which is in the old boiler room. There is no pool, only a small hot tub. The outdoor garden is very pretty but small and being right next to the interstate kind of noisy. They used to have a massage room but turned it into an office. The location, although noisy being directly next to the interstate, is very convenient. Parking is very, VERY limited. Between the Apothecary lounge and special events hosted by this hotel we were hard pressed to get a spot. Rooms are nice but SMALL. Even with just two people there was very little counter space in the bathroom. The shower, however, was lovely. It was large and had a one of those rain showerheads. The pocket door to the bathroom didn't close all the way and the glass shower door banged directly onto the tile of the shower. The AC did get nice and cool though. Beds and pillows were comfortable. They have a free continental breakfast which looks better than it tastes. It was the same offerings each morning: quiche, assorted pastries, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, hardboiled eggs and cottage cheese. They leave the milk sitting on the counter in a glass carafe completely not chilled. Gross. They would heat up the quiche for you but nothing was made fresh. One of the biggest reasons I would not stay here again is the noise. They say this place is haunted. I think they are just trying to sell thin walls as a haunted hotel. We were on the third floor and unfortunately very near the elevator. We could hear a LOT of noise from the rooftop bar which was right over our heads. The door to the hall didn't seal well and we heard a ton of noise from thoughtless guests yelling in the hall. One night there was a wedding so all night we heard drunkards in the hallway. It really, really sucked, especially because we had to get up very early for our flight. Next time I'm in ABQ we'll stay somewhere else.

Great and unusual hotel! It's a unique hotel that has been really nicely renovated from an old hospital. The standard room is small but is very modern/upscale and comfy inside with great bed, quiet and very clean. I LOVED the bathroom. They serve complimentary breakfast until noon. We enjoyed the breakfast. No room service. They offer a late checkout. The hotel has beautiful courtyard in back. The best view in all of ABQ is at the rooftop bar name The Apothecary. Overall staff was nice, loved the atmosphere, and had a nice visit!

Wow, great hotel! Boutique hotel design at run-of-the-mill hotel pricing. Staff was super friendly, free breakfast was great, and the rooftop bar has killer views. Convenient location right off I-25 with some great restaurants right down the street. One of the better hotels I've stayed at.

Have to say I'm honestly extremely disappointed. I had high hopes based off the travel sites and yelp reviews. They failed pretty miserably. To start, we arrived from Texas at 4:00 Central Time and our room still wasn't ready. We were informed the sheets were being dried and we needed to wait 10 more minutes. Not a problem. The service was extremely friendly and I'm a pretty patient guy so it wasn't that big of a deal. They informed me they would call my cell in 10 minutes and we would be ready to go! After waiting for 30 minutes in the parking lot with no call I finally walked back in and was informed then that the room was ready and waiting. The lobby was immaculate and has very interesting decor which my wife really liked. We reserved the "cottage" room 403. Walking in, it smelled of fresh paint which I didn't mind at all. Not a big problem at all. However, when I opened the fold out couch to get the kids bed set up, the sheets were soaking wet. Seriously? Why did we wait again? Anyway, slight oversight by housekeeping I guess. I called the front desk and I had dry sheets within 5 minutes which I put on and we moved forward. Later that evening we found out that the room safe was broken and so was the AC in the front room. Being the kids bed time, there wasn't any point in calling for service to fix that and having to wait for however long that would have taken. We just dealt with it. The kicker comes at 2:00 in the morning when the wind picked up as a storm rolled through. Apparently the back patio door doesn't stay shut OR lock! So when the wind started blowing while we slept, the door slams open and the rain comes in. Waking everyone. Not happy now. I used a robe belt to tie the door shut and tried to get back to sleep. However, too many little quirks at this point to appease me. And for the cost? No way. I was expecting much better. This place is way overpriced compared to what you can get anywhere else for the same product. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. I won't be staying here again. The customer service was top notch but the room was dismal. Makes me sad that my first time in Albuquerque was spent here.

We stayed here because our company was throwing a Christmas party at the Apothecary Lounge upstairs. The room was nice. Great view out to Central. The neighborhood is improving, and the location is very convenient. There are food options nearby, and the Interstate is right there. The place has a lot of character. They do a good job of highlighting the history, from the railroad days on the present. I'm glad to see a grand old structure like this repurposed into a very tasteful establishment.

This was the perfect hotel for passing thru Albuquerque late one night after a long road trip. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Chic rooms, plush bathrobes, comfortable beds. Breakfast left much to be desired, as well as bleak parking lot views. But would go back when next there.

I recently stayed at this beautiful hotel with such terrible and ugly customer service during a conference. I would not recommend supporting this place of business if you are hosting a group of people for any type of event. Why? Even if you pull off a wonderful business meeting and/or conference your attendees will be left with a bitter taste in their mouths because of the hotel staff here. Let's start with the bar staff at the Apothecary, the bar manager was phenomenal in hosting our large group but when she left her staff treated our group members horribly when we attempted to close out tabs. As soon as we walked up to the bar, she said "what do y'all want?" Once we told her she seem irritated and frustrated stating that she didn't serve us. She also said it was last call but then also continued to serve other customers while we waited for our tickets. Our entire group felt like she was rude to everyone not just one isolated event. Fast forward to check out day, I noticed a charge for 43 bucks in addition to my tickets for drinks and the hold for the room which is pretty normal but not a random 43 bucks. I go to the front desk and she wasn't really able to explain or have a way to see why I was charged but she was really nice about it but had to get the manager who went through the tickets and found what I already knew regarding the drink tickets but then got irritated and explain that the 43 was a bank hold (chase didn't do it) and that it was an authorization charge but couldn't say for what and then when I asked for something in writing saying that this was typical hotel protocol he said he didn't have anything to give me and that after five years in business I'm the first to have a complaint. He was very rude and abrasive, but in that moment I realized that leadership is top down and that is why his employees treat particular customers in this manner. Yancy Sturgeon is a poor excuse for leadership and customer service but when you see a guest as invaluable you tend to treat them in a terrible way! I do not recommend this place for any conference visits. There are plenty of other places that will make your attendees fall in love with New Mexico and never leave with a sour taste in their mouths. I am thankful for the two girls at the front desk that were very reassuring and showed leadership by promising to contact me about the charge, he could learn a lot from them and I'm sure they learned how not to be in service of others!

PROs: Very nice and clean rooms. Great bed and awesome bathroom. Free Breakfast was adequate. Fitness center was decent but would be better with some free weights to go with whats already in there. Hotel staff was awesome. Loved the Hotel "mascots" aka the dogs that run around the lobby. Very safe and secure layout in the hotel. CONs: Would like to have a microwave and a coffee maker in the room all though I understand that it doesn't really match the 1920s style of the hotel. Rooms were small in size but once again it's the theme of the hotel. If your looking for a large room for your family this isn't your place. But if its just you and someone that your very comfortable traveling and sharing small spaces with, this will exceed your needs. I would recommend coming to this hotel.

My husband stayed here with some buddies after a guys night on Central Ave. He loved it so much, he booked a reservation for the two of us a few weeks later. Unfortunately, my experience was quite different. We booked a pet friendly room so we could bring our yorkiepoo along. Pet friendly cost an extra $75. Not so friendly. I think pet friendly at this hotel actually means that you can bring your service dog because they also gave us the room with the handicapped shower. That whole situation was weird too because when we made the reservation my husband specifically commented on the nice showers and comfy robes and to make sure there were 2 robes available in our room. There was only 1. And the shower flooded the bathroom. Also the shower head was adapted for wheelchair use and not tall enough to reach the head of a human on legs. Freezing cold fail. Also he mentioned we were planning a romantic stay and they gave us 2 double beds. Some more complaining if you are still reading this. We were informed that dogs were allowed on the rooftop bar area which we were very excited about since we brought our 5lb yorkiepoo. Turns out, we were misinformed. Bummer. So we had to rearrange the evenings' plans to eat and drink where my puppy was allowed. Nextly, the coffee station was placed directly outside the door of our room. Promptly somewhere between 5 and 6 am, it's use became apparent by the ever slamming hallway door to the lobby which people entered by to make their coffee...outside my door...at 5 am. My not so welcome puppy also alerted me to their presence. Not much sleep makes for a cranky hotel guest and wife. So my husband went to complain at the front desk as he is apt to do when being severely under -satisfied. The end result was a discount of 50 bucks off the pet "friendly" room fee. My dog is a 5lb yorkiepoo. His fee should have been only $25 to begin with. And then we missed the free breakfast because we were so tired and miserable that we just wanted to drive home to Santa Fe and sleep in our king sized bed. He wouldn't even tell me how much the room cost. Needless to say at this point, whatever the cost, it wasn't worth it. I will never be staying there again.

A beautiful and classy looking hotel just off the freeway, we spent new year's eve here, wanting to stay some where nice and with character for NYE. We had a very pleasant stay in their small but nicely appointed rooms. They have a nice breakfast spread as well. The showers are nice and updated, as well as comfortable beds. A short drive to just about everything downtown, we went to the movies and drove to the Sandia Tramway from there easily. The front desk staff is friendly and attentive. The top floor is a bar and lounge.

Driving from florida to California we wanted somewhere clean and comfortable to crash for the night. We arrived @2am; hotel staff was courteous and helpful. The lobby was welcoming with its modern, but vintage decor. Loved the complimentary lavender bath products. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to drag ourselves downstairs for the complimentary breakfast. One of the front desk personnel, Jeremiah recommended Sadie's for lunch. It was to die for. Overall, amazing stay. I will stay here again for sure.

Super chic remodeled hospital turned into a very cool hotel! Very grateful they are pet friendly! We would definitely stay here again if passing through! One issue I would fix is that it's not clear where the front entrance to the hotel is nor is there any help with your bags. Very cool design and thought put into the room and theme of the old hospital. There are window boxes in the halls that accent old medicine and remedies and the art pays tribute to the hospital as well. The rooftop bar and deck is fabulous but they're lacking fire-pits or heaters on the roof for chilly nights. The Apothecary lounge/bar needs some carpet or rugs for insulation because it's so loud. We had been driving all day and it was just too much to handle, but they were very flexible and delivered the food to our room! A couple of bonuses are the coffee stations on each floor so you don't have to go all the way down to the kitchen/breakfast area to get a quick cup, and the complimentary breakfast! Yelpers, you can't go wrong here!

I love this little hotel. The staff was so nice, the rooms clean and the location was very central. They have an amazing breakfast in the mornings (included in the room rate) and a beautiful patio outside where you can enjoy your breakfast. They are pet friendly. Also, the rooftop bar had very good food and an entire list of half price bottles of wine during the week. They also helped my boyfriend find and book golf at some great local courses. If I every find myself in the area again I will absolutely stay here. My only issue si that the gym is small and lacking equipment - just one treadmill, one bike and one eliptical. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars!

So my stay is probably the exception to the rule, but I'm going to explain why I'm giving this place 3.5/5 stars. Two nights plus a dog = $500+ I've paid more for two nights, but I've also gotten more. Here are the positives: CO bigelow products. Great branding, design, finishes. Lovely breakfast with attentive staff. Dogs get to stay for a $75 fee. Friendly staff, period. Great ambience for being an old mental institution. Now onto the bad: Parking is limited. Expect to park on the street. If there is a wedding, as a hotel guest, you are going to have to make way. The place is too small for both to happily coexist. The staff during these busy wedding times seem to be understaffed and could do with some extra help. It's New Mexico and there is no pool. I love my room. I like the vibes (no creepy stuff during my stay). I am just walking away a little disappointed with the overall experience. I won't come back, but I'm glad I tried it out.

Great little boutique hotel. Nice rooms, good breakfast, nice rooftop bar/ restaurant w/ great views of city and mountains. Parking an issue on Fri/ Sat nights with bar crowd. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Close to Nob Hill restaurants and shopping. Old hotel with nice updated rooms/bathroom and amenities. Would definitely stay again if I ever have to go to Albuquerque.

I have stayed at the Hotel Parq Central (HPC) four times now, and I am continually impressed by the customer service we receive. I have booked two large group stays at HPC with Noelle Wallace (who is an absolute delight to work with), and our groups could not have been happier. The hotel is so nice -- the rooms are large and modern; they provide C.O. Bigelow soaps; the breakfast is delicious (your choice of two quiches every morning); there's always water and coffee available; the back patio is a great place to relax; and the Apothecary Lounge serves great snacks and drinks. If you're looking to book a block of rooms or group, look no further. Noelle and the rest of the staff is extremely helpful. We ask for a lot of help leading up to and during our time there (storing packages, booking shuttle times, making room adjustments, doing group check-in, etc.). The staff always have smiles on their faces and go above and beyond to make guests feel welcomed and cared for. I will definitely be back at HPC in the future!

This is about the best hotel in ABQ, and 5 minutes from the airport. I stay here a lot, nice rooms, clean, comfy, nice rooftop bar. And oh yeah, Mark is hot :)

Love staying here with my wife! We love meeting friends for drinks on the roof top or just having an evening to ourselves! Friendly staff, small but not cramped, very tasteful.

This is by far my favorite hotel in Albuquerque! I might be a little biased given that we had our wedding here last year and it was wonderful and amazing and all the things the bride is supposed to think her wedding was! In all seriousness however, this hotel and its staff are so great. They make every effort to accomodate guests and provide a relaxing and fun experience. The apothecary lounge on the roof top has great drinks (albiet slightly overpriced), awesome decor and an amazing view of downtown Albuqueruqe. The rooms are on the smaller side, but remember the building is over 100 years old! They've done a great job of preserving the character of the building while infusing it with all the luxuries you'd expect from a boutique hotel. They have two cottages on the property, which serve as suites with a living room, small patio and private enterance. You might also check out the powerhouse which consists of a suite and a king room, also with a private enterace. When we held our wedding here we rented out "The Residence" for two nights to house the wedding party and our parents. There are 9 guest rooms and common family room, located on the back of the property with a nice view of everything going on down in the courtyard or the nearby park, you choose! The space is lovely! Noelle, the hotels event coordinator is a dream to work with! She still sends emails and text messages checking up on us and inviting us to come by and stay again!

I travel A LOT and this is by far one of the BEST hotels EVER! For this dog lover and tremendous "misser" of her own pooch when on the road, they have 2 "hotel dogs" yes, "hotel dogs" who are as lovely as the hotel and the staff. I don't use the gym when I travel, I usually swim- no pool (only hot tub) or walk the hood (which I did). There are 2 yoga studios within walking distance (one is across the street) so there's a lot for you within a 10 minute walk. Back to the hotel, my bed (LOVELY), my room, clean, simple, and relaxing, the bathroom, clean with ample space (I struggle with white noise and the fan drove me a bit crazy- it's doesn't have it's own switch so if you turn the on the light the fan goes on=ANNOYING to me). Other than the fan- I was over the moon about this lovely place! Bonus for coffee in the alcove at 0630 (I'd make it 0500- but that's just me the east coast girl who's up at -430), hardboiled eggs for breakfast, and coffee to go in the AM before meeting clients- I'll be back as will my colleagues. Oooh, almost forgot- they will DRIVE you anywhere and everywhere and even pick you up!!! (ok within reason- but truly, the best service EVER)!!! Stay here- it's a converted hospital which is also cool (as is the roof deck)!

I use Yelp regularly because I travel frequently. I created a account today for the specific reason of writing a review of Hotel Parq Central. DO NOT STAY HERE. This was my last stop on a 2 week trip and I flew into Albq. to spend time with my terminally ill friend and treat her to a nice night. FAR FROM IT. Let me start with check in, I had to push my friends wheelchair through a crowd of people and very large dogs(Great Danes and such) who were having a wedding rehearsal. They acted like we were in the way, and ruining there "time". We were just trying to check in, and my friend is petrified of dogs. The room was incredibly small. Nothing to write home about. We went to the lounge on the roof, food was at best mediocre and way over priced. We then went back to the room and attempted to go to bed/sleep and there was a constant banging of the pipes, so loud it sounded like the ceiling was going to cave in. I got up to call the front desk, and.....the phone did not work. I used my cell phone to call and then was hung up on. I then put my robe on and went to the front desk and gave them a piece of my mind and asked to speak to a manager........guess what? No manager on duty. I had stated I was going to not pay for room but changed my mind and when checking out in the morning got a receipt for the charges. I signed it and put it behind me. That was a week ago. Today they charged my account AGAIN for a total of $55.35. I called at least 6 times and was told a manager would call me back, and guess what.....no call. I work and travel through Albuquerque and will make it a point to tell everyone I know to stay clear of this poorly run establishment. this was the worst nights sleep in my entire 2 week trip. I did not even want to pay for it, and now they have charged me again for who knows what. BEWARE
