Great burgers. The new milk shakes are delicious. Ask for "well done" fries. Fast, clean and consistent.

Five Guys is everything a burger joint should be. Not too famcy, not too many options, and super delish. Burgers made fresh, however you want tham. Want mushrooms on it? They got you. Caramelized onions? Got that too. They have single or diubles, and you're guaranteed to leave full. The fries are yummy- we always opt for cajun. These aren't the best burgers I have ever had, but they're right up there. They hit the spot, and are always reliably good.

Some restaurant chains are giant corporate machines whose success relies more on conspicuous marketing and extensive demographic research than it does on culinary expertise or quality. Some restaurant chains, on the other hand, started off as a mom n' pop but through sheer quality, consistency, and love from the community, managed to expand itself. Five Guys is the latter. You may be wary about such a ubiquitous chain, and one that will only become more so, but they have earned that presence. Five Guys offers a no-nonsense burger menu. The options are few, but there's enough variation to please everyone. You can choose between a Little (single) or a regular (double) burger, with cheese or bacon or cheese and bacon. All the toppings are free. Besides the standard additions, you can also load up on slightly (very slightly) more exotic things like grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapenos, green peppers, and a small variety of sauces. Whatever you choose, the real star of the show is the exceptional beef. Compared to the big three fast food burger chains, well, they don't compare. They're entirely different animals, metaphorically, at least. The beef at Five Guys is hefty, meaty, juicy, with just a little of that griddle crispiness to accent the flavor. They are greasy, but actually a lot less greasy than other griddle burger or steakburger joints. Still, don't fool yourself: this food has a terrifying amount of calories. The other nice thing about Five Guys is that their fries are absolutely delicious and doled out with reckless abandon. The protocol is to put your burgers in the bag, put the little bucket of fries in the bag, and then literally fill the bag with fries until everything is buried. As such, your first time in you might (like I did) see the fry cup, see the price, and think they're a bit pricey. Don't worry, the fries are plentiful. And they're some of the best I've had, burger place or not. If you just look at the prices, Five Guys seems a bit steep for 'fast food burgers'. After you've seen the portion sizes, it becomes a better deal. And, after you've tasted the food and realized the only fast food thing about this place is the incredibly efficient kitchen, it becomes one hell of a deal. I think Yelpers in general are more conscientious about spending their dollars in the community and supporting local businesses. I certainly understand and support that sentiment, but I will say that the food at Five Guys is well worth sending a few bucks out of town to the franchise HQ.

"What would you do, if I sang out of tune?" Someone, sometime asked that question and I mention it only because I think I'm about to sing out of tune! Out of tune with all the perfect reviews clinging to the walls of the window, that is. Five guys is a funny place. For me it has many great parts. For instance the name is great, the venues have all been clean, open and fun. The ingredients are used like red velvet ropes to guide you along way. Yes, it's kinda fun. What? Fun? How exactly is this burger joint fun, you say? Well, fun - in that they give you shelled peanuts to shell & eat while you wait. Who doesn't like shelling peanuts? Elephants love peanuts and they're proven smarter than us in at least one way. Eating peanuts is the only way WE can even things up & ensure they don't take over the world. While this would certainly be better than our current government, I do worry that some elephants with a vindictive sense of humor may put us in a big five ring circus & don't like that because my friend is crazy afraid of clowns! This should all be discussed while enjoying a few peanuts while you await your chow. Not enough fun yet? Well, they also allow doodles of anything, but promote and post things drawn/written about Five Guys. This is also fun, but now to the food: Ordering is upfront and quick these days. It used to be packed almost every time you'd walk in the door. People were excited to find out what all the hype was all about. It was different and fresh on the the Abq scene. Is it different and fresh? It was when it first arrived. Not so much now. Is it a good burger? Yes. Is it a great burger? I know it's not. It is pretty darn good meat and a respectable amount at that. The meat is the best part. It's like a pretty good cookout good. I've only done the bacon once, but it was as it should be. So good, it's wrong. The meat has been consistently good every time I go & that gets points with me. Another consistency is the generous cup 'o fries. A regular order feeds two. I personally don't care for the cut, but they fill you up. The saving grace is adding the Cajun salt. Without it, they are lacking. They feel like they were fried awhile and then steamed. The buns for me are the weakest link. White buns are your only choice and it's usually soggy on the bottom. Service has always been friendly and I've yet to have an order come back wrong, but I know people who have. You get unlimited amount of nearly 20 toppings and I suppose that could open the possibility of greater human error. One thing I will never get about this place is that, while they are a national chain, why not cater to the market you are in? Eighteen toppings but not one of them is green chile! Take a cue from our local joints or take it from your brother chain venues and give the people what they crave. Or we can go get amazing Mesquite cooked burgers w/ our beloved green chile from a fun local at The Grill for less. Simple math.

Finally got to try this place. Ordered a little bacon and cheese burger and fries. The burger was super tasty and the bacon was nice and crisp. The fries were really fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff was nice and cheerful.

Well, I don't know how often I have said to myself "That was probably the best burger I've ever had", but it's probably no more than a few times. What I do know is that pretty well all of the times I have said this it's been at the same place. These guys really do know how to make a burger. The beef is tasty and has just the right texture. My son once said, when he was just 4 or 5 years old, that what he likes about McDonald's burgers is that they don't have meat. He wasn't too keen on meat at the time (that has certainly changed over the years), but he seriously didn't know that that brown thing in the middle of that burger was meat. That really says something about the molded cattle paste you get at most burger joints. I don't really categorize Five Guys as fast food, and it isn't all that fast. The burgers are cooked from scratch when you order them, and everything is prepared in full view (which I like). It doesn't come across as a food factory, as many places do. However, while the food is really good, it's not what makes this place stand out for me. I can't speak for Five Guys restaurants in general, but this one really excels in having friendly staff and positive attitude. Last night I was driving back from a track meet with my daughter just before 10pm, which is closing time. We stopped at Five Guys to get something to eat, and were the last customers while they were cleaning up to close for the night. There are places where the staff would begrudgingly served us (the inconvenient customers who will make them have to stay until the very end). It was quite the opposite - the young lady taking our order was enthusiastic and friendly and made us feel like making a couple more burgers was really going to make her evening. It may be more expensive than the real fast-food factories, but it is a lot less expensive than most sit-down restaurants. I think it's a great deal and would recommend it to anyone.

Great burgers made to order w numerous choices of toppings. Standard burger is double patty so it's pretty big. Only order one large fry for few peeps as they stuff a ton inside the bag too!

I find it very offensive to see a big jars labeled TIPS by each register when you order and the help watching if you deposit anything. Since wages have gone up this year and they only take your order why demand tip. Wendy's and Burger King don't. It is very tacky and makes customers uncomfortable.

Five guys!! No better no worse than any other location! You still get the same juicy mouth watering burger you were craving. Five guys is top of the charts for chain burger restaurants. So many options to choose so just go everything on your burger. What there are sizes? Big or little one party or two. Just go big or go home!

I've never heard of Five Guys (gasp!), so while my husband and I were out running errands, we decided to try them out since he was jonsing for a burger. Man all mighty, the second we walked through the door, the place smelled amazing! I ended up getting a cheese dog which was AWESOME while my husband gorged on a bacon cheeseburger. Everything was delicious and incredibly fresh, the service was quick a d friendly...I mean, what more could you ask for?
