Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

My amigo tells me this is the best Mexican food in town. Very authentic! But my experience here today suggests otherwise. Either that, or Albuquerque is a Mexican food desert... I ordered a chili relleno plate for about $7.00 that was fairly good, but nothing special. The chilies were smallish and didn't contain as much cheese as I am used to. The batter was also thin. But they were well cooked and hot all the way through. This came with beans that did not taste home-made. The corn tortillas on the side were definitely machine made and not on this site. They were the worst part of my meal. My friend had the machaca plate for about $7.50. His looked better, with a nice mix of beef and scrambled egg. So this place earns a solid 3 stars in my book. The staff were friendly, and I'll possibly come again, but I won't go out of my way to do so. Next time, it's Los Pollos Hermanos for me!

Horrible service, mediocre drinks....but good food. What gives? The drive-through is very narrow, so watch out if you got a big truck.

By the far the best steak and egg burrito. Very very filling, made fresh, and delicious.

I had never been to Filibertos but I had driven past many around town. After finishing puppy stuff with my daughter she was famished so we took off from her place and she wanted to stop here. Thinking she had been here before, I pulled into parking lot and ventured inside. Was not really hungry but did not want to stop again or have to make something when I got home, i lazily ordered the number 8 ( don't know why , it just stuck out ) rolled tacos with guac, rice and beans. My daughter asked the cashier what kind of burrito's were good and she was recommended a steak burrito. ( that thing was huge, lol ) When the order was ready , I was not impressed. Rolled tacos tasted like frozen variety, rice was flavorless and beans had a whitish cast ( too much lard? ) Based on my food I would've given them 2 stars, she really liked hers so kind of averaged the plates together. Would I go again? yeah Would I order something different? yeah Will try something different next time and update from that.

Big fan of all the berto's across the southwest & west coast. Filibertos, Robertos, leobertos, Johnbertos & Tombertos. If it has a Bertos in the name try it. I strongly recommend this place, which is right over the Rio Grande river, 1/2 mile from major tourist attractions in Albuquerque such as Old Town, BioPark, Tingley Beach, Zoo, bike & hiking trails & Breaking Bad spots. Don't let the area bother you. Yeah it's on the other side of the river. It's just a regular Mexican neighborhood part of town with hard working people like yourselves. If you want to eat made to order fast food Real good Mexican food hit this place up. If you like good fat carne asada burritos, carne asada fries, regular big crispy tacos or street tacos, enchiladas or any good MX food this is the place. Keep in mind this is not New Mexican food. This place is the good hole in the wall type of joint. Make this place part of your tourist plan. You can order drive thru and drive back over the river and eat at Tingley Beach area.

This is definitely the best Filiberto's location. They always get the order right, and the portions are very generous, and the staff is nice. Easy location to get to!

Do you like throwing up? How about some diarrhea? You have found your spot! There is also something really poisonous tasting in the red sauce here. Cannot pinpoint it, but best not to question, just avoid. Also, the beans are a very, very pale color and all congealed indicating a really high lard content I'm assuming? Ew, nasty.

Ordered the chicken tacos, chicken burrito and cheese quesadilla and it was wonderful. The meat was grilled and addictive.
