Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Dion's is a wonderful local staple. This location can be troublesome when the line is to the door (but that many people is a good kind of review!) and the staff is friendly. Give the specialty pizzas a try, and if you're unable to decide, they'll split 1/2 and 1/2 on flavors. I suggest one side Kansas City (BBQ sauce and chicken) and the other Duke City (turkey, white cheese, and green chile), it's a fabulous combo. Salads are usually fresh (occasionally have to pick out some icky lettuce) and I always have them hold the mix (cucumber something or other I can't stand but my husband loves it so they'll put it in a side container). Sandwiches are good but I never get past pizza and salad, those are the best.

I love me some pizza! If you happen to be in Albuquerque, NM check it out!

Bad service, ok food, it takes 28 minutes to get a pizza, also be ready to catch, they like to slide the drink to you across the counter, also know that you'll get about a pound of shredded processed cheese on your salad and something they call ham.

Dion's? Alright I guess. Pizza's pretty ok. Cheese tends to slide off, not particularly impressive flavor-wise, but not bad at all. The inside tends to be a bit of a mess, tables aren't terribly clean, but the price is very reasonable for what you get.

Dion's ham and green chile pizza is a must have, when in Albuquerque! My slice this past Saturday was perfect with their slightly sweet sauce, generous amount of cheese with just the right stretch, chile with a good burn and loads of ham. The sandwiches are great and I LOVE the ranch salad, loaded with pastrami (but, I like the old croutons they used to use better... they were flat discs and more subtle than the big square cubes)! If I lived in Albuquerque, I would have Dion's pizza at least once a week!

I live pretty close to a Dion's and cannot think how many times I have eaten there. My favorite pizza is the Duke City (no tomato sauce, turkey, green chile & cheese) it is excellent. We will on occasion get their regular pizzas - pepperoni and green chile is very good, but if it was just me eating then the Duke City would win out every time. Of their salads I would say the Ranch and Gourmet Chicken are probably my two favorites. The ranch is iceberg, pastrami, cheese, croutons, cucumber, onion and bell peppers; the gourmet chicken is spring greens, chicken, pecans, blue cheese and tomatoes. Their sub/sando's are pretty good - the Italian is my favorite, but I would recommend you hold the mayo - the sandwich doesn't need it and you will save a bunch of calories. Everything is made fresh and so you may have to wait a few minutes to get your food; if you are doing take out I would recommend that you call ahead.

I am a fan of Dions, but last night, this location had issues. It seemed like they were completely unprepared for the dinner rush. The line was double wide, and stayed backed up to the front doors for most of our visit. Behind the counter, there was a clear shortage of employees. The result was that our order took a very long time to be made. The common chit chat around the whole restaurant was that the service was not like Dions patrons have become accustomed to. The food was consistent with the quality

As of this posting, this is the newest location in Albuquerque. I've been here twice. Dion's beats any of the national chains hand down, IMO. They're a little on the slow side, but the food is delicious. They also serve some of the best tasting salads for a pizza place. Clean, cozy atmosphere and reasonably priced. If it weren't for my waistline, I'd eat here at least once a week.

Another suggestion from my friend had us on our way here for dinner while in Albuquerque. We settled on the Small (12") Dion's Special, a half Tossed Salad, a Small order of Garlic Toast and a pitcher of Cherry Coke. It was under $20 for the two of us (plus left overs). The service was great, the place was clean and the food was pretty good! It was the first decent slice we've had since moving out of Washington State! We'd make it a monthly stop if it was local to us!

New location. Same slow service. Same boring pizza. The sandwiches and salads are ok, but the pizza is as slow and boring as the classic AOR streaming out of the former Applebee's speaker system. Service may be slower now actually, as the parking lot actually allows MORE customers in to the restaurant.

There is no beating Dion's - they're sandwiches and salads are also great. I love their ranch and greek dressings! However, it's always teenagers and college kids who make the food, so every now and then there may be a problem with your food - over or undercooked, or wrong toppings, etc. just let them know and they'll make it fresh and right very quickly. We go there at least twice a month.
