Great service and amazing, truly Mexican food. I see that someone else said it is New Mexican but it is most definitely NOT. This is a very traditional place with reasonable prices and you get a LOT of food. We had Tacos de Deshebrada, guacamole, tacos de Barbacoa and stuffed poblano peppers ( can't remember the name of the dish) and all were superb! I only ate lunch but it was super and I'll be back soon to try out dinner and breakfast. Definitely check this place out! You can't go wrong, no matter what you order.

I was pretty impressed with my meal which was a combo plate that consisted of a taco that was good, a flauta which was also pretty tasty, and a gordita which was okay (it was a bit heavier than I was hoping). The side of beans was good, and I really loved the rice! The pre-dinner soup was oh my gosh amazing (I could eat that every single day)! However, I really didn't like their chile or salsa. I mean it's not bad, it's just not New Mexican... I was kinda hard to get passed the color of the green chile even though it tasted better than the red. I will definitely go back, but I will stick with flautas, tacos, rice, beans, and soup! Our waitress was okay, not terrible... The decor in the restaurant is really nice. Their chairs and benches are beautiful! Also their cake looked fantastic! I will definitely try it next time.

Very good food I've only ordered about 3 different plates but they are good. The beans are too salty for me so I never eat them. The rice and caldo are good. I always order the flautas panela. Their chile relleno with cheese is good too. Good atmosphere usually never busy

Best Traditional Mexican Food In Albuquerque! I had Combo #2 and it was amazing! The Stuffed poblano pepper had a tomato sauce that was to die for. Since I'm Italian, it reminded me of Chicken Cacciatore. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in New Mexico!

Always great service, friendly/helpful staff and amazing truly MEXICAN food! New Mexican food is good, but this is the food I remember from my childhood growing up near Mexico!

Great authentic Mexican food! My family and I are always looking for some good Mexican food and this place does not disappoint. They're breakfast is amazing and the staff is really friendly and attentive. They have complimentary pan dulce to go along with the café. If you haven't tried this place out, it's a must!!

Horrible service, check your bank account after you pay since they can charge you some elses bill, with out telling you. Food is so much that you won't finish it. Apparently the only good thing here is the caldo the res, but with the poor costumer service is better to try another place. Muy mal servicio. ooooh by the way 19.99 for a clamato!!!!! It doesn't came with anything special other that the carne seca. Just too much.

I went here with a semi-large group of people and the service was terrible. The restaurant itself was almost empty, but had 3 cooks and maybe 5-8 waitstaff. It took maybe 5 minutes for a server to acknowledge us and give us chips. It took even longer after that for them to take our orders. All of us agreed that the food that we ordered was terrible. One person in our party summed up the experience as "this is the kind of restaurant where afterwards you hope there is a bathroom near-by". And indeed, all of us had to use the bathroom afterwards. Each of us ordered a different dish, and none of us liked the dishes we ordered. The chips were store-bought and tasted a bit old, the chicken was tasteless, the 3-chile sauce looked like ketchup (and tasted a bit like it as well), and the dishes with pieces of chile were disgusting. I might go back to this restaurant once more to see if we just ordered the wrong dishes, but if I never go back again I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything and I'll probably live longer.

While in Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta, we took the Park and Ride to/from Cliff's Amusement Park. On the way back the first day I spotted Delicia's and made a mental note that we needed to try it. After our bus ride back on our final day there, which was an early morning trip, I suggested to my wife we try it for breakfast. IHOP was nearby but my mantra, when traveling, is not to eat anywhere you can eat at home. She is not as adventurous as me and doesn't always agree, but she humors me. I give her her due for that... We are given chips and salsa immediately (remember it's breakfast). The green chile heavy, flecked with either the char from the green chiles or cilantro is good, but not great. It could have used a little more seasoning, IMHO. Still, it's very fresh, but maybe just too much for me, because it's 9:00 a.m. and I have been up for 4 1/2 hours. Yeah, that's it... I order the Pork Red Chile and my wife orders the machaca. Both came with eggs, hers mixed in and mine ordered over medium. My eggs were cooked really well and the red chile was really good. I hardly touched the hashbrowns and beans that came with my breakfast. The server was extremely friendly and helpful, even guiding me toward the red chile when I asked for suggestions. After some quick research, I find that Delicia's is sort of of a small chain with locations around NM and El Paso. If I lived one of those places, I would definitely go back for, what seems to be, authentic food.

Nice change from general "New Mexican" to better than average "Mexican." Thanks for spicing it up:)

This is one of my favorite places in Albuquerque. Not fancy but authentic, delicious Mexican food. Soups are good, especially the Chicken Tlalpeno with avocado and chipotle in it. Clean and friendly.

Not intending to head to this location, we ended up here for an early lunch. There is a disconnect between the decor and type of food. The whole time I was in the restaurant, I kept thinking that I was in New England. Blond wood floors, white painted wood paneling, blue walls, all give a sense of a beachside restaurant on Martha's Vineyard or the Cape. There were a few accents of "Mexican" art on the walls. I could hear two different kinds of music playing, some in the customer area and a different set of music from the kitchen. That was a little distracting. The menu was bigger than I had anticipated. It was listed that this was a Mexican restaurant, but I could see some New Mexican influences, especially in the red chile. The chips were great. They were light and not overly salted. The table salsa was chunky and had a kick, which I appreciated. My mother and I both ordered full plates. Each of us was brought a caldo de res soup. I loved that it had big pieces of cabbage, squash and carrots. I had a piece of meat in mine, which I handed over to my mother. The broth was tasty. I could have done without the rice in the soup, but that is a personal preference. My niece was disappointed in her chicharron burrito. The chicharrones were stewed in tomatoes and green peppers. She tried a few, but didn't like the flavor (she's not a tomato fan) nor the texture. She only took a few bites. Luckily, my mother didn't finish her tacos de tripitas plate. The tripas were a little overcooked for my mom's taste. They were more the crunchiness my niece was looking for in her chicharrones. My mother and niece ended up sharing the plate, which was enough for both of them. I asked for combo #3. It had a ground beef taco, cheese enchilada and chile colorado. The sauce on the enchilada was the same as the chile colorado. The red chile tasted like New Mexican style, not the typical Mexican flavor that I'm used to from California. It wasn't bad, just not the flavor profile that I prefer. The beef in the chile colorado was tender. The enchilada was the way I like just not the chile that I like. The ground beef taco was pretty damn tasty. The beans were the star on this plate. I liked the creaminess of the beans. I didn't really try the rice, but it looked like it was cooked perfectly. Our waiter was pretty good. He did bring me a flour tortilla, when I asked for corn. My mother flagged him down and he apologized and brought out the corn tortillas. I need to return to try other menu items. There was enough here that I liked for me to return, but I am not really at a point where I would recommend it.

Tried out last night. It was good, I need to go back to find something on the menu I really really like, so want to go again. They give you beef soup with your meal that I loved, lots of veggies & rice in it.

We came here because of the reviews. I guess it's just not for us. The tortillas they put into meals are not good. The breakfast meal I had had so many tortillas I had to pick them out to get the little bit of meat that was in it. The decor is neat inside, I can give them that.

It was ok. Presentation was great and the staff was nice but the food was a little bland. And I don't mean lack of heat I mean lack of "sazon". I grew up in Mexico so I know Mexican food and it was good but I was not impressed.

I've referred so many people to this restaurant, I should get a stipend! I love Mexican food more than New Mexican and this restaurant does it right. Foodies and utilitarian diners alike have enjoyed this place. I only discovered it because I work nearby and saw a flyer. I've never been disappointed by their great food, excellent presentation, tidy and attractive interior and the excellent service by their staff. They always take care of our table, including children. Never rude, never rushed, always friendly. Their breakfasts are their forte, but the lunches and dinners are excellent as well. This is always a great bet on Sunday afternoons. Word is catching on, because I've noticed it's getting busier each time I visit. They deserve the attention and they seem to be able to handle the new crowds gracefully. Best bets: Huevos divorciados, barbacoa tacos, and their Patron Skillet is enough food to feed a small country.

Pretty good! I've been seeing this place regularly on my way to the adjacent (and amazing) Saigon Restaurant. Delicias is Mexican food - not New Mexican, which is so common in New Mexico. Caldo de Res was super good - it's a crap ton of fresh veggies and cubes of tender beef in soup format with rice and corn tortillas. I'll order it again, and then again, and probably again after that. I was keeping a keen eye on the other tables' entrees and I must say that these guys serve up some nice looking stuff. I'm excited to try more things, but their proximity to Saigon may suck away my business since I really, really love pho at Saigon.

The restaurant opened recently in the space that was formerly "Perrennials." It was recommended by a close friend. The style is Mexican, not New Mexican. We have eaten there twice; once for Brunch, once for Dinner. Excellent food and very reasonable prices. For Dinner, my wife had the three enchilada plate. She asked for and got one each chicken, cheese and beef. Large, rolled enchiladas in red chile. The chile was as good as any we have ever had. Excellent flavor and fairly mild, which is how she likes it. I had the Barbacoa taco plate (6 small soft tacos). If you have never had Mexican barbacoa, this is a special treat. Not many restaurants prepare this dish. Delicious! Both plates came with beans, rice and salad. Also a good-sized bowl of Caldo de Res (beef soup). A lot of food. The enchilada plate was $7.40, the tacos, $7.75.

This restaurant serves Mexican/Chihuahuan cuisine. We haven't had a chance to sample a variety of items on the menu, but what we had was really, really delicious. I had a taco small plate and my companion had a combination plate featuring a taco, an enchilada, and the colorado. Both plates came with tasty rice and beans. It was all very good, and the salsa really was a standout. Service was attentive. Atmosphere was comfortable. There is lots of seating available. Prices were really good. We will be back soon!

Really good authentic Mexican food. Corn and flour tortillas fresh made in site. The Menudo was amazing, and the queso didn't have any processed cheese, just pure queso blanco with amazing some chorizo. Everything, including the guacamole wasn't over spiced, which is rare. The restaurant is in a shopping center which is usually a red flag for me, but the dinning area is very charming. At first glance I found the menu to be a bit expensive, but after eating I have to say it was worth every penny. The service was good too.

WONDERFUL food, friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, very reasonable prices. The caldo de res is superlative. Delicias has become one of our staples. We eat here at least once a week. Highly recommend!

Me Nd the guy friend decided to try this out because we love our chilaquiles Verdes. So I ordered what on their menu stated as green chilaquiles and he ordered the Delicias chilaquiles in a green tomatillo sauce. Well, to my surprise, my green chilaquiles were actually smothered in a creme like sauce and I was a bit skeptical cause everyone and their Mexican mothers know that it's either green or red chilaquiles Nd not in between. So I ate them and they were ok just don't think I'd order those again but instead id order what the guy friend ordered because his were actually green! I would definitely ask the guy friend to take me back when I'm in ABQ since I'm from Los Angeles. All the other places don't know how to make authentic mex food.

Being from Las Cruces, when I saw a Delicias Cafe come up in a search for "cheap dinner," I was very excited. This restaurant is a good place for tasty, cheap, and filling Mexican food. They have an impressive menu covering all the basics and a few unique plates. There are several things that stood out to me. Small Plates: Delicias offers three small plates for $5.10 a pop. They are tacos, enchiladas, and a third I can't remember. They come with beans and rice and are perfectly sized for a smaller appetite. I usually get these plates when I'm looking to walk out under $7. Caldo: Most of the main entrees come with the standard side dishes - beans and rice. I was pleasantly surprised when I was served caldo (soup) before my meal. It isn't anything special -- veggies, mean, broth -- but it is tasty. I would suggest getting a meal that comes with soup, you won't be disappointed. Service: I've been to Delicias several times and the store could improve their service. Recently, I went with a friend and was charged another patron's bill instead of mine. I worked the mistake out with the hostess, but there was a language barrier that made it difficult. We ended up receiving cash back instead of having our cards refunded. Bottom line: Delicias Cafe is a great Mexican food hole-in-the-wall which provides great value for your money. Take your time with the staff and you will have a great experience.

For me, it had been tough to find authentic mexican food in new mexico believe it or not... The vast majority of places are "New Mexican" a category of cuisine that is distinctly different from "Mexican" Mexican. Anyhow, this place definitely fits the bill. The food is outstanding, and is actually MEXICAN. Imagine that.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
