Is there an option for 0 stars? My pregnant wife and I went in and ordered a gluten free pizza and salad and paid. They brought us a salad covered with croutons (I admit, I forgot to say w/o croutons), and we continued to wait for our pizza. A FULL HOUR goes by and nobody even comes buy to apologize for the wait. Finally, I get up and ask what is taking so long and they reply "sir, we have been out of gluten free crust all day". A bunch of knuckleheads start to stare at each other and can't figure out what to do. I claim "B-S" and ask for a refund. They had a hard time figuring that out as well. No apologies, no offer for a free pizza another time or a salad to make up for their errors and my wife and I are still hungry. We went 2 blocks down to piatini and had wonderful service and a delicious pizza. We live in the neighborhood and won't go back to DaVinci.

Five star review. Totally. Probably the best crafted pizza in ABQ. I like the namesake Da Vinci pie, but have also been impressed with their other gourmet pizzas. My wife, not a big pizza fan, actually makes an exception for Da Vinci's -- they know their crusts, are generous in their toppings and show culinary brilliance in their menu offerings. I often order take-out but have enjoyed dining in their pleasant restaurant. Simple, clean, mellow and modern. Great for lunch or hanging with friends. Really nice folks, too.

Staying at a hotel for the night nearby but out of their normal delivery range. They were still willing to deliver though, which is great customer service IMO! Not every place will do that. Ordered over the phone, John who took my order was super courteous, and the food ended up being so good that I took it with me on the rest of the trip for seconds and thirds!

THRILLED to have this new addition to the neighborhood. After reading the reviews , I decided to stop in one night after work and ordered my favorite combo of Green Chili & Pepperoni pizza. It was love at first bite! Baked to perfection with just the perfect ratio of dough to sauce and toppings, I could taste the delicious difference with the first bite. I will definitely return to try other pizza combos. Very friendly and accommodating staff with excellent service.

Definitely was not what I was expecting from previous reviews! The whole thing started with them telling me it would be a 30min wait and it took an hour. Then when I got the pizza, the dough was soggy and dripping with grease! Over all bad experience and don't think I will be going back.

I've only been here once when they first open but I am interested to go back and try again. The food was good the atmosphere was fun. Great place to support a local business. Plus they deliver!

Great, inventive, gourmet pizza and salads! Fabulous cannoli, too! Open all day with breakfast pizzas in AM and cappuccino/espresso/etc.

We stopped in on our drive home to Denver. The pizza was fantastic! The crust was perfect, and the toppings were both fresh and generous. We ordered a gluten free pizza for our kids and they loved it. Great service and friendly staff.

I ordered for delivery and was very disappointed. I ordered a small cheese pizza with ricotta and white sauce, and a large spinach salad. I had to explain my order several times. When the pizza arrived, it came without the mozzarella cheese. I called to ask what happened and the same employee who I talked to earlier said that they assumed that if I ordered a second cheese that they assumed that it was a replacement for mozzarella. He basically proceeded to tell me why I was wrong and if I wanted to pay to order another pizza and wait 40 minutes to have it delivered. The food overall was pretty good after I spruced up the pizza and salad (the spinach was wilted and small). But the service was horrible and I will not be going back. Maybe I caught the B Team working but with so many great local pizza places, Dion's, Pizza 9, Ferina, Scarpa's, Slice Parlor, NYPD, to name a few, da Vinci's did nothing to set themselves apart.

I want to love this place. The location is great. The Bramante pizza + roasted garlic is super delicious. The salads are fresh, creative, and taste great. It's a little on the pricey side (at least for the stuff my family orders) but I don't mind paying for quality. The owner is nice. His employees are nice. So why am I not in love? Something always seems to go wrong when I'm there. My order gets mixed up. Or I don't get my salad. Or they're out of whole wheat crust. Or it's too cold in winter (perils of lots of glass, no air lock for the front door, and only a northern exposure). Or, as on my most recent visit, I injure my finger on a chair - nothing fatal, but dang it really hurt. I will probably keep spending my money here since they make good pizza and I think they're good people. I will need to triple-check my orders when I place them and try to convince my family that take-out is the best option. I don't want to risk any more mishaps than absolutely necessary. With a little more attention to detail, this place could seriously win a place in my heart. Kudos, BTW, for not having a TV and for the musical taste of whoever is selecting the tunes. I always hear something good when I'm in Da Vinci's and I'm never assaulted by advertising.

This is hands down my favorite pizza parlor in town. Gourmet toppings are fabulous- vegetarians must try the bruneleschi.... Divine! A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

The pizza here is just fine. My roomie and I will sometimes order takeout on Tuesdays, they have a two topping 18inch pizza for 12 bones...not bad! The only thing is it seems like they skimp on the toppings sometimes, especially on the Tuesday special. The pizza is very tasty though! I just wish it was more consistent since they're just down the block. I want to try their breakfast calzone, have you?

Delivery was promised in 30 mins and they took over 90. I live less than a mile away. Unacceptable.

Stopped in for dinner with the family, and this place is awesome! A small, family-owned type of vibe to it that serves delicious pizza (let's be honest though pizza is like sex: when it's good, it's good, and when it's bad, it's still pretty good). I recommend sausage and green chile because you can't do ABQ pizza without green chile. This place is not the cheapest, but it is worth the extra couple bucks for this pie!

Da Vinci's Gourmet Pizza earned its place in my stomach for its nifty owner, nice employees, good location, tasty food, and generosity. Although I cannot recall the owner's name, he always recognizes me when I walk in the doors, and he always is patient with me if I cannot decide on a meal right away. I've enjoyed their pizzas, the breakfast calzone, desserts, coffee, and tea -- but of course not all at once! I frequent this pie place because if I am working just down the street on any given day, it is a convenient walk for me to pick up a super reasonably priced slice of heaven. Don't let the price be the only driving factor because I really feel like the food tastes way more great than what they ask for. For example I bought a combo slice of pizza for $2.66 today (but I feel it is worth five bucks). Reasonable, huh? Especially since the schools charge teachers $3.20 per lunch. And, if you are not in the mood for food, you can buy any espresso drink or simply have a fountain bubbly beverage. Some mornings all I get is a drink. I require caffeine. It's a good thing I can get as much as I need at da Vinci's [ dvgp.com ]. I must say that da Vinci's supports the surrounding schools by hosting fundraiser nights. Thank you da Vinci's for your generous support of our public schools! You are very much appreciated. For all this and more this business has earned all of it's stars. High FIVE!

I have given this place two tries. I really want to like them because their location is very convenient for us. I have been disappoint with the price and the amount or lack of toppings on the pizza. I feel it's a little pricey and they should put more topping on their pizza. The staff is friendly and helpful. Delivery is an additional $2. I believe they have a pizza special on Tuesday nights. They pizza tastes good, but I'm racing to go back. Maybe I went there on a couple of off days.

Ordered Bacon Green Chile Cheeseburger for Hotel Delivery.......tasty crust......would have been better with even a smidge of, let's say, Bacon? Or Green Chile? Or, say, Cheese? Or perhaps Burger? The Mona Lisa averts her gaze.

The employees here rock! We ordered late on Christmas Eve & they waited 10 minutes after close for us to arrive. The pizza was hot & prepared as we requested! Great job!

Nice little place and I'm thrilled to have a new restaurant near where I work! I brought my kids for lunch after passing the place a few times and after receiving a flyer in the mail from them. I wasn't expecting much and it surpassed my expectations, I'm happy to report. My kids each had a slice of pepperoni and sausage pizza while I ordered the calzone, subbing green chile for the onions. It was filled with ricotta, mozzarella, tomatoes, fresh mushrooms, sweet peppers, spinach and pepperoni and was served with two small containers of marinara. I have to say, serving the sauce cold is a disservice to the otherwise top notch calzone. Next time I'll ask them to warm it and perhaps suggest they offer that option by default. I realize they can't warm the sauce in those plastic containers, so that is a drawback for them. My kids enjoyed their pizza and my calzone was good. I only ate half and am looking forward to the rest for lunch tomorrow. The crust on the calzone had a slight almost cinnamon-y taste and the sauce was a little on the sweet side whereas I prefer tangy. All in all, a solid, pleasant meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere. My kids also had an apple juice and a creme soda and the bill only came to $17 and some change. Great price on the calzone. PS--they open at 6 am, serving breakfast pizzas and calzones as well as pastries and a full coffee bar. I know where I'll be stoping on my way to work in the mornings!

Awesome gourmet toppings and the first time I had this pizza the tomato sauce was divine. Times have changed since then. Sauce seems different; bland almost. And many times the crust has been overdone. The final nail for me was when they screwed up my pizza order (a meat pizza for all vegetarians...) with only a dessert and an apology as compensation for picking it up, driving home, then driving back again to wait on the correct pizza to be prepared. To top it off, the crust was ripped off a portion of the pizza. Disappointed this place couldn't pull it together a bit better.

Man, here I go penning another pizza place review. I always feel like I have to preempt these with a personal disclaimer and okay, I'll do so here, once again: American pizza is in the pie of the beholder. Da Vinci's crafts pizza. It ain't Chicago or New York or wood-fired or anything fancy-schmancy, it's Pizza. Sure, the combinations are pretty high-brow, dabbling in stuff like rosemary roasted potatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, feta, kasseri, Gruyere and ricotta cheeses. But the product is pretty standard, flat with moderately toasted crust, and a sweet sauce that (again, in my opinion) really makes the slice. I really like this place and moreover, I dig the location. This neighborhood should house an impressive selection of great restaurants and it's getting there; Piattini and Padilla's help the cause. Overall, I really loved the value. We fed four (well, three and a half) with one family size Greek salad with chicken and a 16" medium rounder for less than $30, and we took a bunch of salad home (it was massive). I loved that the manager/owner took the time to visit each table that was dining on a feeble Monday night. More than anything, this is another venue that didn't request a tip on the receipt! Kudos to you, sir famous painter-turned-pizza artist extraordinaire. A masterpiece. Ask the owner about his Disney-esque name, and his brother, Donald.

This pizza is very good. I tried it last night with my girlfriend. We were considering going to Viccino or the new wisepies but we were feeling a bit lazy. Thier websites has a pdf menu which was very convenient thanks. we ordered with ease delivery was quick but they gave or made us the wrong pizza :( the 5strs is because we called them up explained it to them and they sent us out what we ordered within 20min! Thank you Da vinci for taking good care of us! Best delivered pizza I've had by far! The only pizza I would prefer more is from pizza castle but I live too far now. Toppings cheese sauce all generous but not overloading the pizza so the crust stayed crispy even in a box and some drive time. I'll be back soon!

So, I've been seeing Da Vinci Pizza listed on the New Business page for a week or two now. Well, it seemed time to give it a try. Keep in mind that this is after an evening of drinking, but I still think it's quite fair. First off, they have a variety of pizzas designed for you. Some of these might seem a little out of the ordinary, but they are not really. Just a nice mix of different toppings. But wait, don't like feta cheese, or sausage? No problem! Ask them to change out what you don;t like for what you do, and you're all good! This is one of the few places that roll with those punches and are happy to make changes for you. Of course, you can design your own pie whenever you like. Once you have selected, wait 5-10 minutes and your pizza will be out piping hot, with a nice thin, crispy crust. Don;t want pizza? No problem. Calzones and other yummy options are there as well. That being said, I am VERY impressed by their chick bites. I'm as big a fan of chicken nuggets as anyone, but the common ones you get at fast food places or other bar locations are hazily breaded and deep fried. They taste good, but will take a year or two off you lifespan for every one you eat. Not worth it. Then, along comes Da Vinci's. They have really good chicken bites, but they are baked! And wow, are they good! Tasty and far healthier than the friend version? Sign me up! They cam recommended by the staff there, and they were right. Give them a try. Now, if they added in beer, the would seriously get 5 stars.

We dropped in with some friends and had a pie. Gotta say I really like the location, great parking and friendly service. We ordered an 18" with green chile and garlic. The pizza came with garlic cloves not minced pieces. Next time you're in ask for garlic you won't be disappointed!

We ordered carry-out last night. I was told our total was $17.xx over the phone and when I go to the store it was $18.xx. I asked about the difference in totals and the cashier looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language and charged my credit car the $18. Then they forgot part of my order. When I asked about it, it was obvious they had forgotten. I had to wait while they made it which is annoying when you have a small child in the car. As for the pizza, it was subpar. The crust was like dominos cardboard and they weren't overly generous in toppings. The pizza sauce was too sweet for my liking. The salad was slightly above average. I don't think we'll have pizza from here again. (There are other local shops that make better pizza IMO). We might try their breakfast before we dismiss it altogether.

First time trying Da Vinci's and we're happy we tried it. I love that the building is a repurposed auto repair shop/gas station. Our first clue was the fact that the restrooms were outside. It isn't like it's bothersome, more kind of funky and cool. Great menu choices, lots of toppings to choose from, including breakfast pizzas and calzones which are served from 6 a.m. onward! That is pretty awesome, giving Abq another very unique option for breakfast! Hubby and I ordered a 12" pizza each and went home with fully half of each. The crust was great, with a pleasing caramel color and a nice texture. I felt that there was the right amount of sauce, meaning you could taste it and see it, but it wasn't so heavy that it overwhelmed the other ingredients. Our 2 pizzas had a generous amount of toppings and were very good. Seating was comfortable and after speaking with the owner, I found out he's planning to add a patio seating area and is hoping to get a beer/wine license. He is still in the decorating stages, having commissioned some very cool, Da Vinci prints with fun touches such as a penguin in the classic Vitruvian Man pose. We loved it! There were some great looking desserts, but we had to save those for our next visit as we ate too much of the awesome pizza! We will definitely be back.

With lack luster service, a menu that's hard to read, and enough dust to make pizza dough from it, I barely paid attention to the pizza. But it was average at best. That is all.
