Perfect! We were seated right next to the giant roaring fireplace, so we were toasty warm as we enjoyed our comfort food. French toast and turkey sausage for my wife and country fried chicken sliders for me with a side of cheesy hash browns. We were seated quickly even though the place was packed, no wait at all. The food was brought out within ten minutes of ordering, even with a large (20+) familly group seated nearby and ordering at the same time. The Coke-a-cola chocolate cake and vanilla bean ice cream was rich and decadent, almost too much to finish. Add an iced tea and diet coke to the mix and the entire dinner was still just $25! This location is easy on, easy of at the I-25 San Antonio St. exit and has all the normal kitschy country store items plus some retro items you don't see in most places, so it's fun to shop in the country store section after dinner, or if you do end up having to wait for a seat, before dinner.

A good place to stop if your into good old fashioned comfort food. The waitresses were very helpful checking on us frequently. The food was cooked to perfection and the facility was pretty clean. The only reason I won't give this place five stars is a couple of order mistakes. All in al a great restaurant. ^_^

Agree with previous yelp reviewer Mark B. Expect your standard Cracker Barrel food, but this location needs help with the staffing. Our hostess sat us literally next to the table at the back of the restaurant where a staff meeting was being held when the rest of the restaurant was fairly empty; we had to ask to move tables since we could hear everything. Muffins did not come out with the beverages as at other CB locations. Water glasses were filled unnecessarily multiple times when they were already full. Please improve your staff training!!

It's a chain that sells Southern food. You enter through the gift shop, you usually order something that has been deep-fried, you drink some sweet tea, and then you pay the bill. In between your ordering and the meal arriving, you'll probably play with the little brain teaser thing where you move the pegs from one side of the board ot the other in the least amount of moves. Food here isn't outstanding, but it's OK. If you're a Southerner, this is always a welcome sight, much like a Waffle House. You know it won't be as good as Mama's home cookin', but you'll take it

It has been several years since I have been to any cracker barrels. the food was decent, the service was friendly. I actually enjoy Wecks for breakfast way over Cracker Barrel- no offense, but the food is better, the plates are bigger and the service is over the top!

Oh you know Cracker Barrel, its the place that makes you go through an "old time country store" with current and older candy, toys, nick nacks and patty wacks. This place was not chosen by me to come, but I admire the person who did choose it and so we waited the 30 minutes to get a table, we shopped for stuff we didn't need (really packed in the store during breakfast on the weekends) This place certainly has bang for your buck but it seems like they miss the small things because of the breakfast rush...no utensils (asked twice). Overall the comfort food was great and the experience is something I'd do twice a year.

I love Cracker Barrel. This particular one seems to be really busy - I've never before had to put my name down and wait for a table, and the store (where you pay for your meal) does not have the room for a line, so it's awkward when you wait. On the flip side, the food is so, so, so good. And caloric. Even the carrots are two WW points. But they're willing to do whatever they can to make your meal to your liking. They created a salad for me with everything I wanted and nothing I didn't. Make sure you ask for apple butter with your biscuits/cornbread!!

Yeesh. This was probably some of the worst customer service I've received in a while. Even though there were more convenient tables we got placed right by this doorway which meant I was always in the way and having to move my chair so waiters and guests could get by. They couldn't sit us at a different table because so many were dirty and had not been bussed yet. Then we waited forever for our menus and when I asked for a breakfast menu I waited almost 10 minutes for that to be brought to me. Then our waitress disappeared AGAIN and we couldn't order. We had to grab someone else and tell them our order and then magically our waitress appeared and was confused as to why we had done that. We were already almost out of time for lunch and when the food finally came (almost 15 minutes after that) we had to scarf the food down, and it wasnt even very impressive. It was probably the toughest chicken fried steak I've ever had to try and cut through, and that was with a STEAK KNIFE! The eggs were bland, and the person I was eating with said her vegetables were luke warm and gross. Our water glasses were empty halfway through eating and they never got refilled. Ugh. Terrible experience and bad food. Avoid it!

I like Cracker Barrel. Very good comfort food and a large menu selection. I go for the chicken fried chicken and it is always good. The side choices are tasty and the meal is always served hot. The sweet tea is refreshing. The staff is friendly and always offer down home hospitality. The place is clean and the store is well stacked with cool items and tasty little candies!

It's quite unfortunate there are no Cracker Barrel's in California. So whenever I'm out of state I try to make frequent visits. It's reasonably priced and the bonus of quality homemade food. Their buttermilk pancakes never disappoint!

3.5 stars This could have been a 3 star..... and could have been a 4 star...... but they have most potential for a 4 star. Here's the reason I was in town for the Duke City Marathon, found Torino's Italian restaurant on Yelp with rave reviews. Was GREATLY disappointed with their portion size (ordered to go to relax in the hotel, but when we opened it was sparse, to say the least; see my review for Torino). So I had seen the Cracker Barrel off the freeway and decided to go there. This was my first time eating at a Cracker Barrel. We ordered a meal with 3 side items but.... here's why could be 3 stars..... only got 2 items. Didn't check till we got back to the hotel. We called back and told them, they said come back in, and they gave us the side. Could have been a 4 star if they had actually given us something else besides JUST what we ordered. Typical business practice would be to apologize for their mistake with adding something. Overall, they were nice about it, so I can't really dock them for that. Good service goes a long way. They could have just plain forgot or messed up the order, but when called on about it, they acted on it. THAT'S the plus

Good down-home comfort food, what more could you ask for. So far I have never had a bad meal here once. Everything is always flavorful. Love the sweet tea. Took home the Thanksgiving meal and ate for days off it. Love this place to pieces but only negative is the wait can sometimes be too much.

Who doesn't love comfort food, well I can't imagine a world without southern comfort food. I've always been a fan of Cracker Barrel since childhood. These places are always near major roads and draw the crowds, so its good to go down during the off peak times if you don't want to wait. We typically only go on the weekend, so our preferred times are 9-10am or 1-3pm. While the food is typically good (9 out of 10 times) and the service is good (8 out of 10 times), there are always times when neither lives up to past experiences. Also keep this in mind when there are long waits and big crowds, I have noticed that the service and food tends to suffer more at those times.

Love this place! It's as American as it gets. The most amazing food, super friendly service, & feels like home. They really care about their employees & take care of them... That's a huge plus for me.

I went in knowing this place would be busy and was prepared to wait. But they surpassed my expectations and seated us sooner than anticipated. There was no lapse time from when we got seated and our drink order was taken. There was no wait time from when our drinks were delivered to our order being taken. Very attentive service. Food was very good. Overall really really good experience. Thanks for redeeming yourself Cracker Barrel.

This review is mainly regarding server's attitude, while I realize it may be challenging to take orders from a bunch of teen agers, they should still be treated like any other customer. Our group is a respectful one and this server was obviously very annoyed that she got this group (maybe she was having a bad night) she proceeded to argue with one of the boys who didn't get his hot chocolate and then argued with him about it when it showed up on his ticket, mind you he never got his hot chocolate and felt like he was being forced to take it in a to go cup. They spent close to 100.00, but they will go elsewhere after their basketball games in search of better service.

The other day I woke up and wanted to be herded like cattle. Also, I was somewhat hungry. My friend Ramsay Snow recommended we go Cracker Barrel. I thought we stopped at an old folk home's spring garage sale before breakfast, but woah, I was mistaken. There were older individuals outside on rocking chairs playing cribbage and assembling puzzles. After we made it past the afternoon social time we entered the "barrel". The barrel consisted of cheap chinese squirt guns and gumball machines and overpriced John Deere aprons. After navigating through the "barrel's" store we finally arrived to the hispanic Lee Ann Rhimes hostess, nestled tightly in the corner of the "barrel". She proceeded to ask us the number in our party, in her fake Tennessee accent. We walked through a room that reminded me of my Grandpa's living room, but with somewhat nicer things and a mounted elk bust. My grandpa Johnny was a man of small taste, which we saw every Christmas. My friend Ramsay told me to order the sausage and grits. Ramsay is a big fan of sausage, so any dish he enjoys I enjoy too. The food was really mediocre and bland like Ramsay's humor. Signed, REEK!!!

First time here and it definitely left a lasting impression. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by the hostess who promptly sat our party of 6. Our waitress Jessea, was polite and courteous in taking our orders for beverages. She smiled a lot and was even friendly to our little ones (6 & 8). After the beverages came out another waitress brought out some biscuits with jam and honey. Once we placed our orders, it didn't take too long before the food came out. Though the order was mixed and my daughter received bacon instead of the sausage she ordered, Jessea was prompt in correcting it by bringing out sausage and allowing us to keep the bacon. The food was delicious! I ordered the country scramble with a pink lemonade, everyone else in my party ordered pancakes (pecan, blueberry and buttermilk). After eating she promptly brought us our receipt which surprised me and was NOT expensive! We paid about $67 for our table and it was worth every last penny. Will definitely be visiting this place again. Only hope Jessea is our waitress. She was by far one of the best waitresses we've had in any restaurant in a loooong time!

Lots and lots, and lots of food. We come here often, I must forget to check in. I would come here all the time if they served chile. This morning I had the old timers sampler: 2 eggs, hash brown casserole, 2 biscuits w a side of gravy. A bowl of grits and 3 slices of thick delicious bacon. Price: $7.39. Not. Bad. At. All. The service is usually pretty good. And the food always tastes the way it did the previous time. Consistency in a busy restaurant like this is sometimes suspect. Is everything coming out of a can? Or are there robots in the back measuring and portioning everything with obscene accuracy? Either way, who cares! The food is good, sometimes even great. We started breakfast with a bowl of blackberry cobbler and ice cream. YUM! Good kids menu, although K ordered off the adult menu as there was not an option for French Toast on the little menu. We ate. We played the little peg game. We shopped at the store after. We left happy. All without breaking the bank. I understand it is Cracker Barrel and they don't have to change a thing. They are obviously doing very well. But you would make this New Mexican family VERY happy if you had some delicious chile!

This is the food gramma use to make... Now that gramma isn't around when I want some home cooking I go to cracker barrel. I love the meatloaf and the roast beef, I wish I was a bigger guy so I could order both. The sweet carrots are delicious and the portions are big enough I can never finish everything on my plate. I've never been disappointed with the food here, sometimes you get a new waiter but I've still never had a bad experience.

We went in one evening after working very hard and we were very hungry. Ordered a sirloin steak and got mashed potatoes, green beans and a yam. It was wonderful! Have never had a bad meal here. Their green beans were like Grandma's! Their pot roast hits the spot when you are craving good home cooking and you are either too tired, or too lazy to cook. The wait staff is very attentive in our experience. You can also watch the balloons go up if you are coming here for breakfast during balloon fiesta time! There is plenty of space in their parking lot for your RV and the coffee is superb, unlimited cups. They serve you REAL butter too with your cornbread. They don't give you any of that non-butter stuff. When I get take out, they always do it right, every time.

I was in Albuquerque for a few days for work and I had the pleasure to visit the Cracker Barrel on San Antonio Drive twice. The first time I had an apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The second time I had a fried steak with sawmill gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes and fried apples. As I drink, I ordered a classic lemonade. The food was fabulous as well as the service. There is something special about every single Cracker Barrel that is unmatched by any other restaurant. The food follows the old style country cooking, which I love, and the waiters with their stars do a great job. I cannot afford to visit the Cracker Barrel because we don't have any in California but every time I am next to one I feel obligated to eat in one because the food is just amazing. Long live the Cracker Barrel ... the best restaurant in the nation!

This was my first time coming to a Cracker Barrel, and it was alright. The pankcaes were pretty good, and the sides were nice. Overall the food was ok. I did like how they gave us mini glass maple syrups- I like to collect useless things. I guess the thing people love about this place is the store where you can buy old fashion items like candy- my goodness, I saw so many types of candies that I'd only heard of. But it's a little pricey.

Ate dinner here last night. I ordered the Country Fried Steak, fried okra, steamed brocholi, and side salad. This was the second worst country fried steak I've ever had. I don't think they use seasoning on anything. I ordered extra gravy, but that didn't help. The only reason I didn't send it back was that I had not eaten all day and I was very hungry. It was edible, barely, so that's why I give you 2 stars instead of 1. The server was kind of overbearing, not pleasant. I probably won't come back.

The old fashioned home-style food here isn't really my style, but we eat breakfast here frequently for one reason: the pancakes. Their pancakes (especially the pecan ones) are amazing...better than anyplace that specializes in pancakes. The syrup (which is a blend of pure maple and cane syrups, not some maple flavored high fructose corn syrup concoction) makes them over the top. The only reason I don't give it 5-stars for the pancakes is that when it is busy they will move tables together to seat large parties and then seat smaller parties in spaces that are not even accessible. The service is also spotty. I've had some great servers here and several that were terrible. My recommendation: If your pancake craving comes on the weekend, get there before 9:00 a.m.

The service is very friendly and they are quick to seat you. I pulled into the parking lot and it was full, went inside and got seated immediately. I only go for the breakfast, which is great. The cashier area is a little small so its hard to know where the line is when you are ready to pay. Overall I enjoyed this location.

This place cannot cook a rib-eye to a requested done-ness if their lives depended on it. Been to this place twice and sent back 2 steaks the first time and the second time they overdid once... overdid twice.... finally third steak came out as raw as could be. They just cannot hit medium rare and after 5 epic fails at it I wont ask them to try again.

Okay, admittedly, I am not a fan of any country fried restaurant that serves mostly "comfort food" (aka calorie and fat filled), and this place was not on my list of places to return to, but...it is my teenage daughter's fave, to the point that she wanted to go here for her birthday dinner, twice. If you like a lot of food for your money this is a pretty safe bet. Many steps above the all you can eat pig troughs frequented by the bang for your buck crowd. It is pretty busy on a weeknight, and pretty noisy, but here's the thing....and why I am reviewing it rather than refusing to admit I ate here....the menu has changed to add some relatively healthy choices (kudos!) and the service was really good. Gino was a very attentive waiter and was very pleasant to our party of 6. My dad and my kid both loved the food (chicken fried steak for dad and chicken and dumplings for the kiddo). My mom and I found things that were not fried (the trout and the chicken breast off of the healthy menu) and some decent sides that were tasty and low cal. The other girls with us (19 and 21), had fried catfish and fried shrimp and were quite happy with it all. Gino also brought the birthday girl a free dessert - which was delicious and we were all too stuffed to eat it. Don't get me wrong, it is still a big, loud, fried-food paradise, and several of the patrons gave my bright-blue-haired teenager the evil eye, AND there was some godawful hillbilly music playing constantly, AND there was no wine to dull the country-fried pain, AND they offer sweet tea and "unsweetened-tea" (how the hell do you unsweeten it? What? You put in three pounds of sugar and then suck it out?)...so, not my kind of place. But it was lovely to see my picky eater dad and even more picky eater teen enjoying themselves. So yeah...three to three and a half stars for the good service and improved menu.

Service was slow and inattentive. We waited 15 minutes before anyone stopped at the table. After we ordered, we waited another 20 minutes to get our food. Breakfast. Give me a break. The restaurant was 2/3 empty. I ordered sausage and potatoes with 2 eggs. Everything was so greasy I almost didn't eat it. We have never had a good experience at a Cracker Barrel. I keep hoping. No more. We won't ever eat at one of them again.

Love this place. Southern home style cooking brings comfort whenever you need it. We love coming during balloon fiesta where the kids get a good view of the balloons and I don't have to freeze my tush.

Food is fine (standard Cracker Barrel fare), but this specific Cracker Barrel needs help with their severs and overall customer service. We go to this location about six times per year, and it never fails that we get a grumpy sever, wrong orders, no refills, and missing cutlery. A huge blunder that included making a mess on someone in our party got no response from management. Who is running this place?

It's your typical Crackle Barrel. But this one is really slow with your food. But after 8 cups of coffee you would think I would have my food by now. The waitress was friendly and very courteous.

I was surprised to see Cracker Barrel in Albuquerque but when I did we had to stop and eat. They are one of my favorite restaurants...I wish they were in CA! You can't go wrong with anything you order. My very favorite is pot roast, dumplings & gravy, green beans and corn.

This was my first trip to a Cracker Barrel. I'd heard decent things. Unfortunately, I didn't experience any. I ordered a reuben platter with steak fries. Now a reuben sandwich, as we all know, is corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing on rye bread. Well my sandwich had no Swiss cheese and no Russian dressing. It was simply corned beef and sauerkraut on rye - and the corned beef was almost non-existent. This was the thinnest reuben sandwich I had ever seen. The corned beef was so sparse that four or five bites of my sandwich were meatless. Now I don't know if anyone out there has ever eaten a plain old sauerkraut sandwich on rye, but it isn't so good. The steak fries were room temperature so I knew that they had been sitting around for a while and not made fresh for my meal. Since they had sat around for a while they had soaked up some of the grease that they were cooked in. They had that rather rancid grease-like flavor. The cole slaw that was supposed to accompany the platter never did show up. Having never been to a Cracker Barrel before, I don't know if this visit was indicative of their usual quality or just an anomaly. I may give them another chance to verify this, I don't know. After this first visit though, I can't see giving them any more than two stars. If I go back and find that it is no different on the next visit the rating will drop to one star.

Inexpensive comfort food with great service all the time - what else could you possibly want?!? My boyfriend and I LOVE going to Cracker Barrel. We usually go on the weekends when we have more time to relax and enjoy our food. The hard part is trying to decide whether we want breakfast or dinner since everything on their menu is amazing! BREAKFAST: If you get biscuits, try their apple butter with it! But make sure to ask your waiter, they don't give it to you unless you ask for it. The apple butter is like a perfectly spiced applesauce spread that goes perfectly with the warm, fluffy biscuits. SO GOOD! Their hashbrown casserole is to die for! The pancakes are a little crispy on the outside, but soft and moist on the inside. Their bacon is thick and juicy. I can't really complain about any breakfast item on their menu (except maybe the grits, but I'm not a fan so I won't hold it against them). LUNCH Haven't really had anything from their lunch menu, but I might check it out next time we're there. DINNER The trout is really good, and you get a couple of the vegetable sides to go with it (and any dinner entree on the menu). My boyfriend really likes the chicken & dumplings and their country fried steak. The sides are pretty amazing too. My favorites are their fried okra, macaroni and cheese and hashbrown casserole. They usually have a special side, so if you're getting an entree or the vegetable plate be sure to ask what it is. It's usually a hit or miss (last time we went, the special veggie was lima beans...eek!). If you haven't been to Cracker Barrel, definitely check it out! They have an awesome candy selection in their front store and the rocking chairs are pretty amazing too.

There is something about the Cracker Barrel that warms my heart. My grandmother from Tennessee sure didn't cook like this, but I wish she did! Though I associate them with breakfast, they have an extensive lunch and dinner menu. They have corn muffins and biscuits. I could just eat those and be happy. The corn muffins are small and not sweet. (Many people make corn muffins and add extra sugar to make them more like cupcakes. I hate that!) These muffins taste like CORN! The biscuits are light and fluffy. Some places have biscuits that are gummy, but these ain't they! I like to slather either with butter and jelly. My niece and I like their chicken and dumplings. My mother likes the fried catfish. One sister liked the chicken fried chicken. The pinto beans are excellent with the corn muffins. I also got some mac and cheese that was ok, nothing special. The fried apples were a big hit with the girls. The place is decorated with antiques and reproductions. The country store has lots to look at. I usually end up buying something, even if it is just a $.15 candy stick.

Not very good as far as cracker barrels go. I got chicken and dumplins and okra and fried okra. Food was not as good as normal. okra had been sitting in a warmer bin for a while Told the waitress that and she asked if we wanted another plate. After waiting for a half hour food.. what would you say? (and we had not eaten in 5 hours to boot) I paid the bill and left. I have not been to a cracker barrel since then... that was august.. better places to eat in this town (or others).. such a disappointment. I remember when there were only six of them..

Good ol' country cookin' This place is a nice, relaxing stop for the road-weary traveler. Go here. You'll end up coming back again and again. FOOD The food is good, reasonably priced and stays consistent from location to location. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner; however, I prefer Cracker Barrel for lunch. ATMOSPHERE I must have been in dozens of their restaurants. Every single one was laid out almost exactly the same, with a few seasonal variations. Outside on the wooden porch, you'll see old fashioned wooden rockers for sale. Walk through the 2 pairs of double doors, and you're in an old time country store. Attached to the store is the restaurant. They're extremely smart in their business layout. When you pay for your meal, you have to walk into the store and pay at the cash register (hoping that you'll grab more goodies in the store!). Stay in the store, and say buh-bye to your cash. You'll want to buy stuff every time you visit - at least that's me. Overall, this place is good for kids through seniors. Tip #1: if driving across the U.S., you can map out many of your stops along major highways at Cracker Barrel and WalMart locations. Grab a map in the restaurant and plan your pit stops. (WalMarts even let RV's stay overnight in their parking lots) Tip #2: some Cracker Barrels allow for RV parking. Website: crackerbarrel.com

Foods always good, Sometimes the service is great others it's just downright horrible. The past 6 tImes we have visited the Sunday special buttermilk fried chicken has been sold out. So if you want the best chicken on the menu go after 11AM but before 3PM and you will not be disappointed. At this point I have came to the conclusion that either Cracker Barrel does not ever make enough or everyone in the city eats Sunday dinner before 3PM. I now call first before I make the trip.

We were here on a Sunday and it was packed. The food was still good and the service was great.
(3)Joseph K.
Food tasted great and the service was fast and friendly . Definitely worth going to at anytime of the day.

(3)Chris C.
Great food and prices love the store and the decor of the restaurant. ..service was good
(5)Teri N.
Good down-home comfort food, what more could you ask for. So far I have never had a bad meal here once. Everything is always flavorful. Love the sweet tea. Took home the Thanksgiving meal and ate for days off it. Love this place to pieces but only negative is the wait can sometimes be too much.
(5)Chris S.
(4)Rev J.
Love this place! It's as American as it gets. The most amazing food, super friendly service, & feels like home. They really care about their employees & take care of them... That's a huge plus for me.
(5)Karen M.

(5)Dan N.
Enjoyed breakfast menu, specifically pancakes with maple syrup. Lunch and dinner menu is better than most American style restaurants.
(4)Sherri B.
Kttzy is as kitzy does and this place is full of kitch. i ordered the special which was chicken pot pie . . .yummy...bisquit . . .yummy. . . . service . . . not bad. I really liked all the chairs they have outside. There is this large country store on the way into the restaurant. . . cute. Good experience. id do it again.
(4)Sara S.

Five Stars for Food and Service! Amazing ambience & atmosphere..this place feels like home. Visited six different locations in several states and Cracker Barrel always deliver outstanding food and service.

(5)Colleen T.
(3)Cruz K.
You can eat breakfast and see the balloons..
(4)David K.
(2)Susan G.
(4)Melissa M.
Delicious hot meals, breakfast lunch or dinner
(4)Aaron P.
The service is very friendly and they are quick to seat you. I pulled into the parking lot and it was full, went inside and got seated immediately. I only go for the breakfast, which is great. The cashier area is a little small so its hard to know where the line is when you are ready to pay. Overall I enjoyed this location.
(4)Matt A.
(1)Ray W.
Although the food was consistent with other cracker barrel experiences, the service was atrocious.
(1)Desire J.
I love Cracker Barrel and they are consistent from location to location.

Excellent food ..... could have used some help in the waitress area kind of slow and forgetful . The kids really enjoyed it
(4)Todd C.
(1)Nina L.
Love this place. Southern home style cooking brings comfort whenever you need it. We love coming during balloon fiesta where the kids get a good view of the balloons and I don't have to freeze my tush.
(5)Mark B.
(2)S M.
It's your typical Crackle Barrel. But this one is really slow with your food. But after 8 cups of coffee you would think I would have my food by now. The waitress was friendly and very courteous.
(2)S H.
I was surprised to see Cracker Barrel in Albuquerque but when I did we had to stop and eat. They are one of my favorite restaurants...I wish they were in CA! You can't go wrong with anything you order. My very favorite is pot roast, dumplings & gravy, green beans and corn.
(5)Karl M.

Great home cooked meals. Have never ordered anything I haven't liked.

Good food...friendly service ....a nice place to relax on a long drive
(4)Drew S.

(3)Ronda T.
Hands down the best pancakes and real maple syrup! Eat your heart out IHOP! Good chicken fried steak, catfish, hamburgers. Good pie. Kid friendly. Good coffee. Average service. It is comfort food.
