Chipotle is fresh fast food. This location is convenient for me but laid out a little weird. There are lots of huge tables that could sit a family of 15 but seem a little too cramped to share with other people. There is outdoor seating, a couple of smaller tables, and some bar seating. The food like in most chains is the same that you can get anywhere else in the country. Last time I went they ran out of white rice, which I though was weird because every burrito has rice on it. They definitely were generous with the portion and the burrito was bursting at the seams.

Update: First, I have to say that I have seen the same manager at the west side and paseo location. With that said, I am sad to say that for the third visit that I have felt necessary to comment, today was a failure. The previous statements below still are solid. No new changes, so consistently, they have mastered "bland." The staff is still cheerful and they work hard to move the line and get the food out quickly, clean, and effectively. Unfortunately, executing a bad play well really does not accomplish much of anything. First, we were some of the first customers of the day. Normally, I would expect this to be a good thing as food should be fresh and warm for the hot components and cold for the cool ones. That was not the case. The chicken in my tacos was at best, room temperature. It was bland, and could have been tofu....with no salt at that. The salsa (red hot) was not detectable except for the occasional burst of searing heat, but certainly no taste, just heat. The sour cream was warm. Yes, warm. I do not know how, but it was warm. The lettuce was a bit wilted, and room temperature. Next, I think a great sign of a quality Mexican type meal can be measured by their taco. If they can blow out a taco, then everything else normally is wonderful. First, a great taco starts with the corn tortilla. They have good tasting, thick corn tortillas. Yet, if you do not properly cook the tortilla, because it is fat with cornmeal, they crumble. A taco artist can take this type of tortilla, and cook it at a temperature with the appropriate oil that the result is a light, crispy, slightly sweet, Carmel salty outcome as the shell. The best case would be crispy, yet not so unstable that it shatters with the first bite. Well, in this case, I ordered the tacos soft, which normally means cooking the tortillas until piping hot. This gives them pliability and matures the taste and texture. Mine were cold. Like out of the fridge cold. And here is what baffles me. The guy making this in front of me, puts the tortillas on a griddle that must have been cold. There is no other explanation. The net result was three tacos that crumbled, with the tortillas resembling play dough. YUCK! I posted a photo to show the carnage. Well, sadly, this was my third visit to this store alone, and I am a firm believer in allowing a store time to find a groove, but in this case, there is no progress. I cannot see me returning, which is really unfortunate, as I loved Chipotle in Indiana! I know it can be better which is the frustrating part. Again, underwhelmed. The proteins are simply bland. I tried the chicken tacos and was let down. The food just is not what I remember from other stores in different states. That said, the staff is incredible and can move people through the store quickly and they are incredibly service focused. Overall, I do not think they compete well in their market, and the value is simply not commensurate with their product.

Chipotle has kind of been a "go to" fast food restaurant that my family and I usually go to. The kids meals are pretty cheap. While still exploring Albuquerque I stumbled upon this particular Chipotle location. I hadn't had some yummy steak tacos in a long time. As I parked my vehicle and approached the door, I realized I live in New Mexico now! I know that this isn't exactely the same kind of Mexican food I can get around town. Chipotle is differenct though! This isn't your run of mill mexican fast food restarant chain. These are some fresh ingredients here and cooked to perfection proteins. This Chipotle looks fairly new. The Chipotle's I am used to don't have the same layout as this one. Although I stopped in Flagstaff AZ one time and they had this type of layout. The front counter was standard so there were no suprises. I went during lunch hour, so the place was packed. Next to the counter there are a group of large tables that seat multiple people. The only thing I didn't like was how close to each other they were. If a stranger would sit across from you at this table it would be awkward because you would be only be about 12" apart. The other seating are your standard tables and some tables against the windows. The staff was freindly and pretty fast. If you live in the area you have to check this place out or if you just want to find a chipotle to eat at too. Order the steak tacos! Cheers!

The vegan sofritas is amazing. I know it's a fast food chain, but it's actually really good.

Overrated. Buy local instead. Bland, boring food -- doesn't compare to other restaurants that are locally owned and operated and not big corporate chains.

I have heard so many of my friends raving about Chipotle so I decided that I should give it a try. I felt like I was in a subway but instead of choosing bread it's just like a burrito subway joint. Fresh, busy, but service wasn't that great. The burrito I created I was hoping that it was going to be amazing, alas my taste buds were utterly disappointed. Bland, needed some more spice, and my head was spinning because I couldn't understand why people were raving about how awesome this place was. Would I go back? Probably not.

After a couple visits, I'm ready to weigh in. Good, fresh, fast food, the best part of which is the ability to call it out any way you want it. A couple negatives for me -- the seating is odd and the the management may need to step it up. On our last visit they were out of forks! How do you serve people salads, bowls of meat and rice or ginormous burritos without forks? Instead of surprising the customer with that news after they've paid and received their food, how about driving over to Walgreens or Target and buying some plastic forks for your customers. Or how about transferring some from another Chipotle store in town? Guess it's easier to just shrug your shoulders and say "yeah, we're out of forks."

Even with a full parking lot, I was in and out in just a few minutes. The food was great as usual. Barbacoa and black beans! And to top it all off, Diego Sanchez was there!

You'd think they'd been open for months! Like the Westside location, it seems that Chipotle has the training program down pat. I had my typical chicken bowl with white rice and black beans and all the fixings. The guacamole is definitely worth the extra charge. I'm here on day one and we really didn't wait long at all! I bet the Heights folks will figure out that Chipotle is open very soon...

Most of the food is pretty good, but I had a steak taco and the meat wasn't that good. It was really fatty. Otherwise, everything was great.

Oh chipotle how my tummy yearns for you... Chipotle has been one of my favorite places to eat at ever since I had the pleasure of trying it on my way to Denver CO. So you could only imagine my excitement when I learned that they were opening in the land of enchantment. That being said, this is definitely the best location in ABQ. They always have all the selections in stock (unlike some other locations in town), the place is always clean, the staff has never messed up my order. The only thing that I wish they had that other out of state locations have is margaritas, but, hey, I'm not about to sing them for that. If you're in the mood for some chipotle, this is the location you want to fill your belly at.

Whether you have Chipotle in New Mexico or in New York you will get the same quality of food for the most part. This location is usually not as busy as the other locations around town and service is always good and speedy.

Look, it is what it is. Chipotle is an upscale answer to Tex-Mex fast food. The ingredients are better, the options more vast, and the ambiance decidedly more "grown up." Chipotle is like a hip, urban Tac Bell experience. In a state like New Mexico, Chipotle faces a daunting uphill battle. While it does deliver in the chain-store strength areas of consistency, speed, and reliability, it does not offer what the land of manana craves: authenticity. People here know their tacos, they know their burritos, they know what they like, and they know where to get it from some place that has probably been serving them just that since their mom popped them out. However, I can't hate on Chipotle. It is a safe beacon, it does what it does, and does it effectively. You can get yourself a burrito bowl, you can have a burrito wrapped in a quesadilla, you can get whatever you want from any other Chipotle.

First off I have no problems with the quality of food just the staff's attention to portion control. Something about this location... Got a bowl togo, there was such little rice and chicken I had to search for it while eating. I mean rice, the cheapest ingredient. Then I got guac and I love guac, but then it was like 3 times as much as the rest of the ingredients. ha ha something about this location...

It was "eat-able". I guess after watching the CNBC show on their company I expected something more. My burrito was okay...but my meat was grisly, tough, chewy. Not like it had been marinated at all or tenderized. I got the steak burrito with brown cilantro lime rice, black beans, medium salsa, sauteed peppers and onions, and a touch of cheese. I think maybe I should've ordered the chicken or the carnitas. ?? I will say, the guacamole was awesome! Chips and guac $2.95!. I am really impressed by their use of responsible ingredients. Buy local, organic, responsibly raised meats, and dairy. I wish more "fast food" companies would adopt this way of business. Sadly, I was not too satisfied with the flavor of my burrito. :/ I'll try another menu item on f/up visit. TBC...

Staff is always fast and friendly. I come here on a regular basis and have never had any huge issues. The place is always clean. The line is never really that long.

I am not sure if is just me but lately this location seems to have gone down. On last two occasions I have noticed they really have made their serving sizes really smaller. I guess there must be a corporate squeeze to make more money by giving less in ingredients. Burritos gotten much smaller, won't go there anymore. Will only go to the Louisiana location from this point.

I know it's a waste of time to expect much from a national chain like this, but really, the main thing that comes to mind is disappointing. The food is okay. But in New Mexico, if THIS is where you're getting your burritos then you aren't looking very hard for authentic New Mexican food. And while the food is okay - the service - not so much. The employees are routinely rude and dismissive. What's worse is they just don't pay attention. The way this place works is you stand in line and then go to the counter to tell the employees what you want in your burrito. The problem is they hate their jobs so much they don't listen. You usually have to tell them two or even three or four times. I try not to answer the questions until I see they are at least pretending to pay attention. There are simply so many better choices to pick from I can't imagine why anyone would regularly visit this location. I am moving on.

People seem to be a bit down on this location but I like it! The lines can be long but it moves fast. The employees are friendly and the tables are always clean. I love me a burrito bowl and my charges got kids meals. However, those are a bit small. I'd only recommend them for 5 to 6-year-olds and under. This is a great place for lunch or dinner. I am madly in love with their guacamole. Have some!

Meh...I get bummed every time I remember that Chipotle is owned by McDonalds. Nothing is really fresh, but it's filling and a good change-up from sandwiches every day. I get variations on salads and burrito bowls with cilantro brown rice and black beans...you know, keepin' those carbs complex! Anywho, it's a pretty quick in and out even with a line, and it's pretty tasty. No real complaints. I just can't give it too many stars since it's a fast food joint and it's owned by McDonalds!

Chipotle is very good for a faster-food assembly line concept, this particular location served the Sofritas (tofu cooked in spices and veggies) which is supposed to be just as tasty as ground beef. I personally didn't find it as satisfying as the steak buy if you're a vegan you can now get a protein entree at Chipotle. The food was consistent with past experiences at other Chipotle restaurants, but the water coming from the fountain had a strange odor and taste. I don't drink soft-drinks, but the filtered water is used throughout the soda machine so if it tastes this bad..

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
