Great selection of beers on tap. It was another one of those places where you have no idea which one to pick because there are just too many. The pizza smelled delicious. Unfortunately, we arrived after we'd already eaten but the pizza smelled so good that I was considering just getting a piece to alleviate the torture that the scents were bringing me! TIP: The only downside at this place was that it was super super loud. Not because of the crowd but because of an open-mic night. Not the best place if you're trying to catch up with friends.

Today we ordered Brickyard at work today! The delivery guy was great, the person who took our order was nice, and the food was excellent. My order came over cooked, they sent a new order right away! Awesome service!

Bar next campus. Appears in Anaya novels under a psuedonym. Hand-tossed green chile slices best. Service hit or miss. An institution.

Good pizza and sandwiches. Okay, not the best pizza in town, but really quite good. And the slices are huge and inexpensive, perfect for a college hang out. Everything I have had here is quite tasty. Their beer selection is good, with lots of local beers. But the beers are more expensive than many other places. Buyer beware. Staff is nice, but a little inattentive.

Today the service was excellent. I didn't wait at all for the server to take my order, and she was on top of asking me and my friend if we needed refills on our beer. She seemed genuinely friendly and happy to be there, which was quite refreshing! I have been rather critical of Brickyard in the past due to several instances of poor service and undercooked pizza. Nonetheless, I never gave up hope that they could improve. I'm so happy to see that the manager seems to have turned things around for the better. The past several times I have been to Brickyard, the servers have been much more attentive and the pizza has been tasting delicious (can't remember the last time I had a less than satisfactory slice). I reeeeally hope this positive trend continues because I love the close proximity of Brickyard to UNM (and their PBR special and other assorted beers, of course!).

I gotta say I really like this place.... Actually I have never eaten in the joint so this is not about the place at all... More about the food!. I Always order online which amazing, stupid, simple, and you get email notification with good fast delivery unless you want to choose another time for it. The salads are my favorite but the Lobos Zoni's are a great compliment to a small salad (The large is meal in itself). The lobos breadsticks are like an open face Zoni..... Very good as well. I recommend almost everything, yes, ALMOST EVERYTHING, as I have had almost everything on the menu....I can't recommend the chicken wings though, there are way too many places that do them better. When I am In ABQ I will be ordering something from here....On line delivery of course!!

Didn't have any drinks, maybe that would have helped. The pizza wasn't great but it wasn't too expensive and the atmosphere was chill.

Away from the dive bar down the street and into a place that has some of the best pizza I've had here in ABQ. I hate that I waited so long to try and find Brickyard, but a shout out to Kevin S. who planted the seed. We sat at the bar and were greeted by our bartender the one and only Sean. He labored over our drinks while we perused the menu and made our decisions. We decided on passing up the "PBR Special" this time around. Brothas were starving. We placed our order for some Lobo Bread Sticks, and a personal Supreme, and boy was it good. The beard sticks alone were a meal in themselves, and some of the best I've had in a long while. Crisp, soft, gooey mozzarella, and green chiles... perfect. So was the ranch that came with it all. Every flavor was good, but coupled together just great. The pizza was just as fantastic, and I will be back for a few more rounds at this place before I vacate this enchanting land. All and all, I'm a fan. The food was good, and the service was great as well. We talked about 80's movies with Sean our bartender and how some just don't stand the test of time. Nice bar conversation I tell ya. If you're on the hunt for a good pie in Albuquerque then look no further, because I think you'll be pleasantly satisfied.

All the times I've gone its usually been after 10pm, so it may be different during the day when the crowds not to determined to get drunk. The service can really take a while. The first time I visited I ordered a salad and I was the last one to be served. The 2nd time there wasn't many people ordering and our plates of food still took forever. My significant other disliked the personal pizza he ordered, but I thought the artichoke dip was amazing. Sadly the bread for it was burnt. The breadsticks were also amazing. The perfect crunchy outside and a little doughy inside. Its not the best pizza but I'd go back for that dip.

I have gone here a few times, and eaten, or picked up take away pizza. They serve pizza and food really late. You can get food until 1 AM or later. That said the pizza is also tasty. Not much else is open when I get done at the restaurant, and I am grateful they serve late. I recently used my Yelp check in offer- which I don't generally use- I feel cheap using coupons. It stated 1$ Slices or individual pizzas. When ordering it turned out it was only good for one item, not plural. Then when we got the bill it was only 1$ off -not a !$ item. Someone should fix the wording of this check in, it is not really a good deal. I would have gotten pizza anyway, but it made me feel slightly shafted. I would have just ordered a slice and a small pizza, not a personal one. This is a better deal in my opinion. They have open mic, as well Tuesday nights. Staff was cool. They have two happy hours 3-6 and 10- 12. We had a calzone the one with pesto and chicken. It was good. I would like to try the pizza next time. The open mic there is pretty happening. I was slightly disappointed that it started nearly 40 minutes late. I got there early as it is good etiquette to stay for a couple hours, not just come to play and leave. If you come for open mic throw your server a few extra bucks for taking up a table for longer than just eating. I call this a parking fee.

Best pizza in Albuquerque, hands down. I've never had even a mediocre pizza at this place. Great crust and sauce, fresh ingredients, made and served quickly by friendly staff.

  • Emily L.

Literally everything I have tried here has been soooooo good! It's become my favorite pizza place in town. Love their salads- they're huge and amazing! They also have online ordering with free delivery

  • Ramon H.

I had such high hopes for this place because of all the hype. But this place blows. Service was horrible, pizza was gross, atmosphere was gross. The pizza was no better than eating a hot pocket at home, and I'd prefer the hot pocket over this place.

  • Jenny H.

Love this place. It's right across from the Engineering dept at UNM and let's be real, we could all use a drink after leaving there. Good thing happy hour starts at 2! Bless their hearts. Super down for this place. Plus if their wifi is really slow you can usually steal UNM's.

    (5)
  • Kevin M. H.

I'm here for a pregame Lobo Breadsticks, PBR Special, and a Brickyard Salad... It appears to be a bountiful meal!

    (4)
  • Fer S.

Nice happy hour! Every day, 2-6 pm and 10-12 am PBR $1.50. Good beer selection, huge TV's, very friendly staff. The pizza is also good, but a little bit overpriced. I think that this place is more convenient for having a beer rather than going for eating.

    (4)
  • Orange B.

Great crust, fast delivery, great price. Handtossed pizza was a little too thin and would rip when I would break the slice from the other pizza. I cannot emphasize again that this was the best crust I've ever tasted!

  • LJ E.

This place is right down the street from our apartment, and right across the street from UNM. The food is solid, I've never had a bad experience with it. The pizzas are good. A little expensive for a dive-y place (about 9 bucks for a personal pie) but like I said, the food is solid. The bartenders are friendly, the alcohol is good. Sometimes there is live music. The service is ok. The place always seems to be a little understaffed. The food can take awhile to come out. There's a nice selection of beers, and they usually have sports playing on the big tvs. All in all, a solid place to go in Albuquerque.

    (4)
  • Jennifer O.

Oh my!! I crave Brickyard. The Margherita pizza is by far my favorite. Hand tossed and delicious this pizza is perfect. Happy hour $1 off drafts and they do have a good selection. Really nice TVs. Great windows for people watching. high tables, booths, and a bar to choose from. Very laid back, never rushed, and always satisfied.

So bad, it's (almost) good, in that ironic kind of way, that we all know this is a necessary evil kind of way. So, I should say first that I've had many great times at Brickyard, if only by necessity. It's directly across the street from campus, and grad students from my department congregate there regularly after events. Or, we used to anyway. Until a few of us, tired of the jokes about how awful the experience always was, protested, "No more dammit!" Where to start? Ah, Brickyard, with your bare walls and concrete floors, and noise bouncing off of every unadorned, acoustically rude corner. Why bother trying to conversate? Drink a beer! Drink lots of beers, because that's the only way to enjoy the pizza. Think cardboard slathered in sauce that tastes like it has a pound of pepper in it, with some amount of flavorless cheese on it. The toppings aren't fresh, but they taste great in comparison to the crust, so you'll love them! Plus, you'll want to be tipsy when the notoriously terrible service (with one or two exceptions, and we all make bets as to when they'll quit) takes an hour to get you your check. Actually, order two beers at once to ensure you don't wait 45 minutes between pints. I've had random $30-$40 charges made to my account there three times, with the assurance upon calling the next day that, "It's no big deal. It's like a deposit, It will go back onto your card soon. We don't know when exactly, but soon." A colleague of mine was dismayed when the waitress bluntly declared, "You need to cancel your debit card. I lost it," until she actually went to pull it out of the trash at our urging and insistence. The only reason I gave Brickyard two stars, rather than one, or negative twenty, is that they are a staple and an icon for the requisite divey, subpar, college pizza and beer place that everyone hates, and everyone loves.

This place is in the heart of the UNM area. Plus if you're a student, on a budget or just looking for some good-cheap beer and pizza it's here! Yes good and cheap!!! The pizza is great, I prefer the deep dish with pepperoni and green chile. The special come with a slice of pizza and a pint of PBR! The atmosphere is cool and casual. On the weekend they have live music which is typically great for the area! It's a great place for dates, hanging out with friends, getting a drink and unwinding. They have a full bar so grab a shot and a beer with their wings or pizza. It's fun to bounce around the area from or to here!

Stopped in on a Tuesday night with open Mic Night going. It was entertaining! Our service was prompt and friendly....We ordered the breadsticks....AMAZING! Very tastey!

I lovelovelovelovelove this place! When I lived in ABQ I went here at least once a week for months. It just never gets old! I loveloveLOVE their marinara sauce--tangy, and spicy! Not for the faint of heart! My favorite dishes were the lobo breadsticks (hand made breadsticks smothered in cheese and green chile), and a deep dish pizza with pepperoni and green chile. The artichoke dip. The lobo calzone, or the alford calzone. They also offer a slice of pizza and a beer for like $5--great option if you don't want to pig out. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed. Its often packed full of college kids, and some hipster looking folks in the evenings, but that's ok. You can just relax, be yourself, and enjoy the food. They also have an open mic night a few times a week, and they're open to like 2AM most nights of the week. The ONLY reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is the staff. The staff are great and helpful and totally NOT mean. BUT, there just aren't enough of them. Sometimes there may only be one waitress on a night when the place is packed. I've had a few parties/get togethers at this place, and the service, frankly, was downright horrible. My recommendation is to go when its not busy, and just soak it all up. Or, if its packed, find a spot at the bar and hang out there. Otherwise, be prepared for slow ass service.

Service is great, food is good. Good place to get together with friends and hang out.

Great pizza joint and bar next to campus. The slice and PBR special ($5) is a great deal and nice way to blow off steam between classes. The happy hour here is killer! 2.50 wells and 1.50 PBR. Can't beat it. The downside is that service is hit or miss (sit at the bar for better service!) and their prices are a little high for what you get independent of specials. Overall this is one of my favorite spots in the Harvard corridor.

This place has been around my corner for years and years, but just recently have I discovered that I love it. Quick and simple: Atmosphere: laid back, very casual clean bar, a bunch of clean tables, in a not too bright place. Not elegant, fancy. It's a pizza/bar joint. Ecclectic groups from college kids, ramblers, me (professional, I guess?) to every one else. Service: again, laid back, but GOOD SERVERS. Unlike some other places in the UNM/ Nob Hill area. The bartenders and waiters/waitresses will treat you with respect, sometimes they get busy though. Price: Spend 15 bucks for a good amount of food and 1 or 2 beers. Food: The pizza I think is the most underrated in Burque. The crust is not doughy or bland, it is perfect. The sauce is a perfect pizza sauce, meaning no added thrills or exotics that may be appropriate for specialty pizzas. It's good. Lots of good cheese and generous fresh toppings. Nothing fancy at all about the food, but it is just great for the price you pay. Favorite pizza/beer joint in town, all things considered (atmosphere, price, food, value). -e

Pizza was great. Jesse was an absolute prick. Thanks for the great service. We only drove 18hrs in a day to land at this restaurant and be treated like dog crap. The veggie pizza is an absolute delight, and so is the meat lovers. Actually... It's very average. Nevermind.

My husband used to work here! While I was planning our wedding, I spent A LOT of quality time with the beer selection and food menu. This is one of the only places in town that has Stone IPA on tap. They also have La Cumbre IPA, which is awesome.Their Green Chile Bloody Mary is a really great twist on the original. I love their pizza. Their breadsticks are awesome, as are their salads. The Calzones are what take the cake, in my opinion. I build my own each time. Pinneapple, Green Chile, and Pepperoni. Usually I have to send it back to cook longer (which is why this only gets 3 stars) because I choose the ingredients with more moisture content. The calzones are huge and really really tasty. The only thing on the menu I wouldn't necessarily recommend would be the sandiwiches. They use store-bought rolls. The sandwich meats and toppings are too sparse to achieve a good bread-to-filling ratio.

Such an awesome place in the Bricklight District! This was my favorite hangout spot in college. The prices are always good but happy hour is when all the magic happens. They have a pretty good beer selection and also a hard cider on tap. The pizza is fantastic, I would highly recommend ordering spinach as a topping, they put it under the cheese so it doesn't get all dry and crispy - genius! Check this place out!!

  • Kali V.

First of all...I like it. I don't love it. The pizza is simple and good. The beer is simple and good. The prices are simple and good. That said, I discovered this place on vacation via my boyfriend who used to live in the area. Now that we live here again, I come pretty regularly for the special. PBR and a giant slice for about $5? Hell yes. I also LOVE that you see all types here. The music is awesome. It's always a good atmosphere. The only downside is the service. Sometimes it's good. Usually it's fair. Occasionally it's poor. Don't expect anything exceptional, whether they're busy or slow. But definitely worth it if you want some chill time for reading, studying, talking--and not be bothered too much.

  • Kevin W.

Definitely my favorite bar in the UNM/Nob Hill area. It's a good drinker's bar... the service is hit or miss (Nick, behind the bar, is the man tho), and you won't be bothered too much if you're their just there to sit at the bar, have a slice and a few drinks. It's also quickly becoming Albuquerque's biggest soccer bar, too, so if there is a big match on, you're bound to run into a few like-minded people watching the game. Which I think is awesome.

    (5)
  • Nikki M.

I love some of the food here and the beer selection is great. But nearly every single time I come here they either a. Mess up my order terribly, b. Never come to the table to even get my order, or c. Forget my beer. This place has one of the worst waitstaffs in this entire area. I've been waiting for a single slice of pizza for an hour. Go someplace else!

    (1)
  • Joshua H.

Hands down one of the best consistent pizza places around, especially near UNM and Nob Hill. Big slices that fill you up and they load up on the veggies and meat. The garlic bread sticks are pretty awesome. Randomly have live music. Full service bar. Great tap selection and have happy hour twice a day! Their ranch is better than Dions!

    (4)
  • Michael H.

So-so. Not my favorite crust, but the cheese was tasty. Overall an average pie that is enhanced if you want a good atmosphere and some drinks.

    (4)
  • Nathan M.

The food is really good it just took awhile to get out. If you're in a hurry only order a slice everything else takes 30-45 minutes to make. It was also really busy but I only saw 2 servers and our never came by.

Cool place! Good draft beer! Can't complain

    (5)
  • Genesis H.

my favorite pizza! I haven't tried much else on the menu but the hand tossed green chile is the best. I usually get the special, a slice of pizza and a pbr.

    (5)
  • Tom P.

Good pizza, good salads. Fast. Usually. Service can be hit or miss - sometimes its amazing, sometimes they forget your whole order. Make sure they can split your check. We've had several issues with them not splitting large checks. This concept is ridiculous, if you get a new system that can't split checks, you have the wrong system.

Being a NY pizza head I was frightened to death. But my Abq friend ordered me a sausage slice with green chile and it was really good. I mean, nothing compares to Joe's, Lombardi's Grimaldi's or any number of everyday working NY/Brooklyn/Queens/Bronx pizzerias. But it's good. Don't be scared..

Was staying in Albuquerque for a few days and was suggested this place by the front desk of the hotel my friend and I were staying at. We ended up ordering delivery from this place 4 nights in a row. Easy, Friendly, Great Prices on the Calzones we had. Our first order we got a two liter of Dr. Pepper instead of Root Beer, but that isn't anything to scoff at and it wasn't a big deal to me. The delivery person we had each day, I believe was the same, and was friendly with a smile on his face each time we answered the door. If, by chance, I'm ever in Albuquerque again, I will be ordering from these folks again! Thanks!!

  • Chase D.

The pizza is pretty awesome and the hot wings are even better. Service is on par a majority of the time, but sometimes it takes a bit longer than it should. Otherwise, I have no complaints. My wife and I go quite frequently when we have our Friday lunch excursions.

  • Kelly K.

I stopped in here on a long layover from the airport. To my surprise, it was a great little joint to spend some time in. They have a great beer selection, the food was pretty good and the service was fantastic.

  • Erin L.

Since the management has changed hands, the service has gone sharply downhill. At dinner with a large group of friends, the server informed us after we ordered that she would not split our checks (!!) due to "management policy." The previous management never had a problem splitting checks! I know large groups can be a pain, but gosh! After that the server disappeared, only showing up again when flagged for the check. How disappointing.

  • P C.

The pizza is OK. Too much sauce. It's better than NYPD downtown. Saggio's is slightly better (too doughy, though). I come here because it's a good location and they always have a Lobo game on or soccer. Plus, they now have La Cumbre on tap, which is a bonus. The service is decent. If I want great pizza, I go to Giovanni's.

    (3)
  • Abhi P.

As far as pizza goes, Brickyard does not have the best in town...not even close. But it is alright, and they serve beer (and possibly liquor, can't remember) at the restaurant, and have very decent prices (including combos, like a slice of cheese pizza and a pint of Pabst for $4, or something). On Tuesday nights they have open mic nights, which can be good or bad depending on your tolerance for musicians and other talent trying to get their name out. However, I have seen some pretty awesome bands and performers there, along with some not so great ones...again, depends on your tolerance for that kind of thing whether or not Tuesday nights are a good night to go.

  • Yuriana A.

This pizza is decent and better than other surrounding competitors. they also have a nice selection of beer. You get the option of pan or thin crust and the pan, for me, is way better. In any case, the sauce is delicious and offers a fighting chance against other pizza parlors.

I love the "special"!!! Bid slice of pizza and beer for under $5! I don't think there is any better deal!

Grad Student Necessities * Cheap: B- * Pizza: B+ * Beer: A- * Concentrated Socialization: A In short, Brickyard is a great little joint for getting together with friends and bashing the administration, establishment, field, lab group, latest quiz, or what have you :-) The decor is cute, and not just because I'm a sucker for ottaman-type chairs. They lose a few points for always having the televisions on.

Crappy "chef salad" -- husband got the "club sub" and it was equally lousy. Service was at least fast.

  • Jessica D.

best pizza in the city - im always amazed/confused that they are not on more 'top' lists. fresh handmade crust, spicy tangy sauce, AND they have green olives, a rarity in new mexico...!! i had some pizzas delivered for catering once and hosted a party here too - really appreciated the great service, though if youre drinking past a certain point ive heard they are pretty quick to ask you to leave, so be aware of that. like other reviewers, i wish they had dessert.

  • Lesly H.

Okay food for 1:30 am. The bill was only 33$ for 2 pints of beer an appetizer and two zonis. Not a bad deal at all. To me the food was lacking taste but hey it's 1:30 in the morning. Probably will come back. Service was great!

Well this SUCKED drove in from OKC tonight got into my hotel at 10 and found this pizza place still delivering to my airport hotel. Called and ordered at 10:30PM the guy told me 45 mins. At the 55 min mark I call he says o the guy just left. At the hour 20 mark I call to cancel and the Jerk tells me "o well I told you 90-120 minutes for delivery I just got a big order" and the worst part he was totally nasty about it. If he would of been nice I would of waited, but instead I went to bed hungry. So more customer service related review being I never got to try the Pizza.

The good: Their prices- $4.25 for a slice and a PBR, can't beat that Their food- great wings, great pizza, good beer selection Their tv- they have all the fancy sports channels and a bunch of tvs! The bad: Their service- sit at the bar and you're okay, but they don't have enough servers for the restaurant portion. If you can be a little bit aggressive as a customer, the service isn't half bad! Considering you can get a slice for just $2.99, this place is a steal!

    (4)
  • Steve H.

Great tasting food with pretty good size portions. The toppings are a bit expensive if you are building your own pie, but all in all this is a pretty good bet for pizza or a calzone. The inside is usually pretty crowded / noisy and the service wasn't particularly fast so order ahead of time and get it to go.

  • Mateo V.

Brick light is good for cheap pizza and beer! Service is not great usually and you might have to remind the server to get your drink. Over all it's a good dive bar.

  • Coco L.

This place makes me reminiscent of college. That's a good thing by the way. Great selection of beer (They had my favorite, La Cumbre Elevated) and their pizza was so good. The crust was perfect, and the toppings were fresh. The atmosphere was fun, and the service was on point. The floor could've been kept a little cleaner, my feet stuck to the floor. But it's all good....the food was delish ;)

They have calzones with nacho cheese, like do I really need to say more?

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
