On an attempt to try as many local and high rated (by Yelp) places as I can, I came to Bocadillos for lunch. The Place: I arrived around 1pm (to avoid lunch rush hour) and although there are limited sitting spaces I was able to find a spot in their outside patio. There were some tourists taking pictures and talking to the owner; it gave me a chance to hear all about her story on how Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives arrived to their place. She mentioned the restaurant had only been open for a couple of months when she got the call from the TV show, she thought it was a joke but they sent her all the info. to verify it was legit, then asked her to prepare the place two weeks before their arrival, and after the show was aired, the popularity of Bocadillos skyrocket, so much that they will open a new location (not sure where tough). I really liked their location, the atmosphere is relaxed, simple decoration, and the staff although limited was really friendly. The Food: I ordered the 5-0-Philly, it was huge!!! The meat was tender & soft, the green chile gave it the spicy factor, the bun was soaked by the meat juice so it made it soggy, and the vegetables (especially the mushrooms) added a nice flavor. I really liked it, BUT personally I think the meat lacked some flavor, that would had made it just perfect. All sandwiches come with a side, I picked the potato salad which was delicious, the portion was small, I would have liked to have a bigger portion. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to others! I will be back soon...

I wish I would have gotten the Cuban or the Reuben, but I ordered the TNA which was good, but the turkey didn't taste as good as I had hoped. The bread was soggy, however the unsoggy parts were delicious. I had a bite of my husband's Cuban and it was great!

First of all, this place was scorching hot!!! My family and I were not comfortable the whole time we were eating our sandwiches. As for the sandwiches, they're good, there is no doubt about that, but as for being as good as people say, ..no they're not. I really wanted to try a Reuben, but they said they were sold out. So between my family and I, we got a TnA, 505-Filthy, and Cubano. The Cubano was the best. They weren't as big as the owner had served Guy Fieri on TV either. The potato salad was good. And the service was super friendly. My family and I equally said we would rate this place a 3 and a 1/2 or 4. I would recommend coming here, and you can just rate for yourself.

After they quadrupled the size of their facility, I'd been here twice! Each time was fabulous as if I were among "like-minded" strangers! After the order was put in and I waited for the the mouthwatering sandwich to call my name, I'd watch other diners who appeared happy and content, that's what good eats do for you... oh at great prices, too!

Where is the 6 star?! GAH. This place was amazing. I'm not necessarily a fan of their hours, but if you can get the time off work, it's worth the drive over. The dining area is quaint and welcoming, and the openness make it ideal for sunny days. The food is spectacular. They only have a few items on the menu, but you're getting the real deal. They make those few sandwiches with crafted excellence; the flavors are out of this world.

All I got to say is amazing!! A must try!!! Visited Bocadillos Slow Roasted for a quick lunch. When we arrived (my friend and I) we were a little worried about the location. This is because it is in a old type industrial warehouse. When we went in and ordered are sandwiches. I ordered the "T N A" well my friend ordered the "Salad Shooter". When they arrived to are table they both looked absolutely amazing and let me tell you they were. You could taste the freshness and love put into their food. I will definitely be returning. Simply one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It is a must try for anyone in or visiting Albuquerque. The only con is the hours I wish they were open more often. 5 out of 5. A top 10 restaurant in Albuquerque.

Simply the BEST Sandwich , August 07,2015. Mariscal family, Ventura County California.
(5)David B.
I had the Philly and potato salad. It was fantastic. It is in a weird location, but even if you drive passed it 3 times before finding it, it is definitely worth it. The place was very clean and the staff was very friendly. I ordered my food to go and they were very expeditious with preparing my food. I would definitely go back.
(5)Yvonne H.
Really wish the web site was updated about Labor Day closure. We were traveling and went out of our way to visit.

I ordered the 505-filthy and absolutely loved it! The chicken on my sandwich had such an amazing flavor. My boyfriend ordered the TNA and he ate every single bite. This place serves some of the best sandwiches I have ever tasted if not the best. I will definitely be coming back and they are soon to open a new location!
(5)K D.
Delicious sandwiches and friendly service. Ordered the 505-Filthy (slow roasted chicken sandwich, green chile, tomato, lettuce, asadero cheese, chipotle mayo and bacon) with a side of mozzarella, tomato, artichoke salad. The TnA is also delicious (green chile and apple chutney makes this sandwich a treat). Would eat here again if I lived in the area.
(5)Craig R.
Cannot wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. Wow! Staff was very nice and helpful. The reuben was crazy good - the kraut, 1000 island dressing and corned beef make for a perfect bite.
(5)Sebastian B.
Truly a local mega hit because I walked in at 11:20 with 3 or 4 people in front of me and by the time I say down the place had filled up around me. This building is an industrial shed that you would no ally find a small service business the dining area has a roll up door high ceilings and correlated steel walls. A huge mural with the joints male and a funky red white and blue bird, I think it's a road runner. A bunch of various sizes tables and a bar area but surely not enough seating for the masses of customers. I had the NM Wildfire which is house made pastrami with Swiss and pepper jack on thick cut sourdough with a house made spicy mustard. This was outstanding, it was hard to choose since each creation on the menu is tempting. I am so damn stuffed but I couldn't stop eating. I have to say this is my kind of place and highly recommend it to everyone. Get her get amazed with taste and get stuffed! FABULOUS and a TV food find for the FoodDude!
(5)Eric S.
Amazing. I love it when a highly rated restaurant lives up to expectations. Every sandwich is good, but the one with the most boring name - the reuben - is probably the best. BSR really exemplifies what it means to focus on what you are good at as a business. Their menu consists of just five sandwiches. Simple perfection.
(5)Shelbe S.
Puts every other sandwich spot to shame! First time here but definitely not my last. Got the tna... The Apple chutney caught me by surprise in the best way.
(5)SJane D.
I'm glad this sandwich shop is in our neighborhood. The flavor are spectacular. All their sandwich meats are slow cooked to moist, dripping perfection. The very juicy sandwich line up is pork (Cubano), beef (5-0-Philly), corned beef (Duke City Ruben), chicken (5-0-Filthy), turkey (TnA), and If there is a vegetarian in your group the Salad Shooter, is huge and chock full of fresh veggies, mushrooms, cheese and the heavenly house chipotle mayo. Each sandwich is garnished with various fresh veggies, cheese, and sauce or dressing, making any choice a unique experience. I've tried them all and have no favorite. Every order comes with a house-made side order to choose from, like chipotle potato salad, slaw, tomato and artichoke heart salad or chips. Last winter they offered a savory chipotle corn chowder that I've heard they won food awards for, and I hope the bring it back this winter. I miss it dearly! Bocadillos' success has forced an expansion and they've now increased the seating capacity by at least 200%, and that's not all that's new. They have acquired a beer and wine license and will be serving very soon if not already. Their new dining area has it all - picnic bench style seating, cafe tables and a bar. Decor is aesthetically geared to a younger crowd, but very comfortable and attractive.
(5)Brenda N.
Went for lunch. Amazing sandwich and I loved the atmosphere. Only reason I didn't give it five stars was because my avocados were to hard to eat but everything else was awesome!
(4)Esperanza C.
Tip of the day: When you walk in the "enter" door don't get confused. You'll walk into the 'eating area', you'll have to look to your right and go through the small doorway to the order counter. We did it and everybody after us did it, too. There is seating, but it is limited. There are a few picnic tables for large parties or shared seating, two person tables and a bar top. After that you'll either have to sit outside (which isn't bad during a nice day) or in your car. What? I know I'm not the only one who eats lunch in their car, on occasion. The spot is not overly decorated. Pretty charming and chill. Service is limited but very pleasant and helpful! Now on to the food - legit!. I know I overuse it and it's straight out of the 90's but that is my word to emphatically describe that I truly approve of something/someone. I had the 5-0-Philly. I mean the name is already to die for, right! The roast beef was perfectly seasoned. I intended to eat it minus the bun (too much gluten upsets my tummy) which I did until I finished everything else and just saw all this awesome juice for the sandwich just being soaked up by the bun. Before I knew it, the bun was gone. Well worth the pain. Scrumptious! :)
(4)Tamara M.
amazingly juicy and tasty sandwiches! we had the T & A and Ruben. The Ruben was amazing - sweet and tangy- at the same time. The T & A was a little too sweet from the big chunks of roasted Apple that's in the turkey- but still delicious. I wanna try the others- but overall, a fantastic experience! Service was super on point too! Mateo was kind and courteous- he could tell I was new and didn't make me feel out of place. There was also an old lady ordering ahead of me and clearly didn't know what she wanted- he was soo patient and sweet to her. I love genuine service like that! Definitely coming back to try the rest and since we're moving to ABQ, it'll be one of our go-to sandwich shops :)
(5)Tim H.
Out of towner and decided to go for lunch as our conference is being held right down the road. This place doesn't look like much on the outside but has lots of cool artwork on the inside and is much larger than I expected. I ordered the Cubano with a side of chipotle potato salad and it was easily the best thing I've eaten all week here in Albuquerque which says a lot as this town had some amazing food. The meat was cooked perfectly and incredibly moist and well seasoned. The pickles were surprisingly home made and the bun was perfectly toasted. Potato salad was good as well but the sandwich was truly the star. I'm pretty sure I'll return tomorrow before heading back to Cali. I would recommend to anyone!

I don't like sammiches. I seldom have them. I have to admit that I was convinced to try one here by what I saw on DDD. So I went ahead and got me some t&a. The sandwich. That turkey was the best ever, and the green chili apple chutney was wowza every time it hit my tongue. I intended to only eat half, cause its kinda big, but I didn't leave even a crumb behind. The husband had the Cubano, and he said it rocked, but that my t&a was better. The sandwich. This place was real easy to find, right next to a ubiquitous burger joint. As a whiner in a previous review noted, there are no baby seats, so be ready to make do. This place is about food, not comfortable seating. Set your expectations accordingly and you'll have a great meal.
(5)Ashley E.
We tried the Rueben, Cuban, potato salad, and creamy chicken and mushroom soup. I give the Rueben 5 million stars...seriously. Howie is not exagerrating when he says how good this sandwich is--and I don't even LIKE Ruebens. The Cuban was good, but it's lacking mustard and pickles. I probably wouldn't order it again. The other sandwiches on the menu look amazing as well, I'll have to try the "filthy" or the "505 filthy." The soup was also really good, I could go back just for that! One thing that I haven't seen mentioned in the reviews yet is the size of this place. It's super tiny...like hole in the wall, two tables tiny (with some seating outside--but it was cold). I met and spoke with the owner, she is awesome and I love the concept of the place! I'll definitely be back!
(4)Ariel M.
This place was a great lunch spot! We ordered a TnA and the Ruben. The TnA has this chile and apple chutney with the slow roasted turkey- it was mouth watering! The Ruben was made with all day cooked corned beef brisket!! I would go there all day just for the corned beef. It's in a converted warehouse, which has a really awesome feel to it. The coleslaw is made with vinegar and mayo, but more on the vinegar side- it was quite tasty!! It's a pretty limited menu, but the two items we had were GREAT!
(4)Tai T.
I just ate probably one of the best slow roasted sandwiches I've ever eaten in my life at Bocadillos NM in ABQ, New Mexico. This is Marie & she is the owner of the joint. Saw her and her restaurant on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives last weekend in my hotel while I was in New Orleans for the Three Rivers Art Festival. While driving back to my studio in Salt Lake I decided to stop in and I'm super glad I did. I had to try the biscuits & gravy cuz that's what she made for Guy on the episode, but I also sacrificed my pescetarian practices to try the 5-0-Filthy slow roasted-chicken sandwiches and it was the bomb! While we were eating, Marie came into the dining area exclaiming to her 'Soup Nazi' cook "You have to go see this van outside!!" That obviously led to our meeting. So we "selfied" in front of my van. Me stoked on her food, she on my art. If you find yourself in Albuquerque EAT HERE!
(5)Amanda V.
This is the sandwich shop of all sandwich shops! The menu is limited but everything is made fresh & with every bite, I fall more in love. The shooter sandwich is a vegetarian option loaded with portable mushrooms, red, yellow and green bell pepper, cheese and topped with avocado, tomatoes and lettuces. I have tried 3 different sandwiches and each one is uniquely flavored and mouthwatering. I watched the food network episode that featured Bocadillos and learned they have homemade biscuit and gravy. They looked unbelievable delicious, I can't wait to try these. There is limited parking, park on the street next to Blakes and come hungry these sandwiches are big.
(5)Kelsey W.
After reading reviews and learning this place was a favorite spot for Guy Fieri, I decided to give it a try. I had trouble locating it at first, but it was located in a garage next to a fast food joint with a little sign that said "Enter" on the door! Some may shy away at the fact that they have a small menu (several sandwiches at most) but personally, that just means they've truly perfected their options! I ordered the 5-0 Filthy and the flavors of this sandwich is something that could never be duplicated. The chipotle mayo mixed with this special cheese they use really made for a creamy pairing against the grilled chicken and bacon. And let's not forget the green chiles! OMG the green chiles. I learned that they are a staple to authentic food in New Mexico and this place does it right. Also tried the chipotle potato salad and I fell in love with each bite.
(5)Vivian W.
Thank you yelp for not disappointing! I am not from the area but was visiting my boyfriend and needed a quick lunch option and found this place highly rated on Yelp. I ordered the TnA and Cubano ahead of time on the phone, drove over, picked it up and went back to his place to devour the goods all under 15 minutes. Of the two sandwiches, the TnA was my favorite. The green chili apple chutney gave the sandwich a special sweet kick to the perfectly seasoned turkey. And who doesn't love avocados in their sandwich?! The cubano was also good. We also had the chipotle potato salad which I honestly found to be bland. The side that I really liked was the tomato and artichoke salad which I finished in a jiffy. I would come back in a jiffy to try the other sandwiches and actually can't wait to do so the next time I'm in town!
(5)Lauren W.
BEST SANDWICHES IN ABQ. Sometimes the wait is worth it, and after 25 minutes I would say it is. This round I got the Cubano with the Artichoke and Tomato salad. Absolutely delicious.
(5)Casey C.
Sooooo amazing!!! I saw this place on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives when I lived up North and swore I would go there if I had the chance. My husband and I stopped in right before they were closing and I begged for the roadrunner burrito and not only did they make it, the owner herself made it for me. It was out of this world. And my husband is so picky and he loved the 5-0 filthy. Go there and you won't be disappointed!!!
(5)Paul A.
Great sandwiches. Tried the Philly and TnA (turkey). Both were made with quality meat and the apple And green chile chutney on the TnA is awesome. A definite must if you're in the Duke City.
(5)Laura C.
Went there yesterday to get the famous biscuits and gravy, I was expecting way more than what I got. The biscuits were not fluffy they had a weird taste to them. I do love the cubano sandwich it is the bomb definitely will go back for the sandwiches .
(4)John N.
Since we heard some sandwiches may run out later in the day and we had to attend a mid day wedding, we had breakfast with the Duke City Reuben and the Cubano. I loved both but my wife is crazy for the Reuben. Both were so full of flavor with the Cubano being just slightly sweet enough to make it awesome and the Reuben being super moist and rich without being too heavy. Only item not worth the belly real estate was the potato salad side. Potatoes were only slightly blanched and were too hard for my taste. Get the mozzarella and tomatoes instead.
(5)G D.
This is a small restaurant with lots of character. The service is great and the Cubano sandwich as well as the turkey and avocado sandwich are delicious. The potato salad is ok but the tomato cold salad is good.
(5)Joshua M.
Good sandwich for vegetarians in the Salad Shooter. Overflowing with toppings it is quite good. Seating is limited and there is often a line. Go check it out for yourself!
(5)David N.
Had the Philly Cheese steak before and it was delicious. Trying the Cubano today. It smells incredible!
(5)Lianne N.
Always a wonderful sandwich! I got the TNA which has turkey, cheese, green chile, apple chutney, tomato, and avocado. I always feel guilty about changing what was obviously a thought out combination, but they don't mind not putting on the tomato and avocado. It was tender and yummy and very obviously fresh. The only downside was that my bun had a smidge too much butter when it was toasted so it seemed greasy. Not a deal breaker at all though!
(4)Ricky M.
Bocadillos is a total hidden gem which offers up some killer sandwiches. They don't have a very big menu but what they do have on the menu all sounds delicious. I had their TNA sandwich which was amazing and filling. Next time I am in the area I am definitely trying their Reuben as it looked really good. Overall this is a place that is worth checking out! But be sure to get here early as this place tends to get packed for the lunch rush!
(4)Nikki C.
One of my favorite places in Albuquerque! Quick, simple and freaking delicious. Their menu is simple- only about 5 or so sandwiches. But that's all you really need. Each sandwich is it's own without too much similarity. My favorite is the T-n-A: turkey avocado tomato and this awesome green chili apple chutney in a perfect bun. Seriously the most satisfying sandwich ever. Cubano comes close second. The staff is always super friendly and their prices are fair. If you don't already love this place, trust me you will!
(5)James W.
We were visiting Santa Fe and took a day trip to Albuquerque and had to visit. This was our first visit and they knock it out of the park from the funky atmosphere to the the great customer service and the most awesome food. Our group had the ruben and also the TNA. Best sandwiches ever. I had the TNA (turkey and avocado) with apple chutney. I can't explain how good this sandwich was-I was sad when the meal was complete. This is the real deal-a must visit!
(5)Tyler U.
We stopped by on our trip from Anaheim, CA to Nashville, TN. Split both the Cubano and TnA sandwiches with my girlfriend. Both were delicious. My only knock on this place is that they're only opened to the public for a few hours a day. Will definitively come back if I'm ever in Albuquerque, NM.
(4)Jeff K.
A great locals joint, nothing fancy, just wonderful service and great food. The menu is very limited and simple, but everything they do they do better than every other sandwich place you've been to. And these aren't your typical run of the mill sandwiches! Tender, juicy meats on delicious bread that make my mouth water just thinking about it. So good my coworkers and I went two days in a row when we were in town for a business meeting. Get there early to make sure you get a table and don't have to wait too long in line. I highly recommend the 5-0 Filthy!
(5)Bella B.
Sold!! This place hands down has the best damn hot, hearty, mouthwatering Sandwiches! The Duke City Reuben by far to me is the bomb sandwich, the quality & cut of Corn Beef they are utilizing is spectacular, the other selections of sandwiches are good but I am SOLD on there Reuben!! This is THEE place to get your hearty Sandwiches in town. The only suggestion I have is the side items are A-okay I really would love that they offer "Sandwich" only option ;) Nick is the sweetest & kindest guy with amazing customer service skills, always pleasant, helpful and making sure your taken care. Love the casual hip ambiance and the cleanliness of the establishment! I now know were to go & tell all my people where to get the best hearty Sandwiches! BOCADILLOS
(5)Carly M.
I was tempted to try this location after seeing it on diners drive ins and dives. I wasn't disappointed. I found the restaurant easily and the location is very cool. I didn't go inside my husband did but the outside is funky and fresh. The area the restaurant is located in is very modern looking. The restaurant is located next to a Lotaburger and there were signs all over the building stating it was Lotaburger parking only. This just made me want to eat at Bocadillos more, obviously it's popular. We took the food as take out. When we got it home the food was wonderfully presented. I was a little disappointed off the bat at the size of the to go order side. It was a small container with only a few bites in it. The sandwich was halved and looked delicious. The bread was not soggy The food was delicious. The duke city Ruben was amazing. The cole slaw was also awesome. I still wish there had been a bigger portion though. Overall very satisfied with my food and the service. I will be back.
(5)Jay E.
Terrible location. Tables are too short. Weird vibe. Takes too long to get a simple sandwich.... But sometimes, every once in a while, the quality of the food makes up for so much. This is one of those times. Absolutely epically good meats served creatively with quality fixins. Great Potato salad. Truly shockingly good food.
(5)Patricia A.
I have eaten the TnA, 505-Filthy, The Cuban and 505-Philly. I have not been disappointed and each time the flavor is better. The artichoke, mozzarella and tomato side that is offered is so good.
(5)Howie K.
I have this special friend, her name is Marie. She owns this place called Bocadillos, and her reuben sandwich is, quite possibly, the most incredible creation since people started putting stuff between sliced bread. Marie is the real Burqueño deal: she started this thing at a community kitchen in the south valley, cooking for school kids. A year or so down the line she needed a bigger spot, so she moved to the north valley, still cooking for kiddos with a little lunch operation on the side. Grown-ups started coming in, and they loved the food, too. Next thing you know she was winning awards, getting featured in local publications and even national TV programs. And just a few days ago, she opened Bocadillos redux: a big dining room with dope personality, widened patio and a sweet sheet metal counter. The beer and wine license is on its way. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday through Friday. But wait, there's more. In July Marie is launching another eatery, near I-40 and San Mateo. So to sum Marie up: started with virtually nothing, put love and joy into everything she created, and with a little help, she's an incredible success. And here's why Marie is one of my #FavoritePeople in this city: she always calls me Babe. Next time you visit, say hi. Chances are good you'll be her Babe, too.
(5)Vicki S.
WOW! I will never look at a sandwich the same again! Bocadillos is just simply awesome. The decor is a theme of a car garage they even have an old Texaco gas pump inside (props to Texaco since my dad retired from them). There are wooden patio tables inside to sit and a nice covered patio outside if you want to eat out there. I had the T&A with the tomato/artichoke salad and my husband had the Reuben of course :). My sandwich was wonderful, I loved the marinated onions with the cheese and the roasted turkey was flavored perfectly. My side salad had just the right amount of garlic flavoring, if they sold the tomato artichoke salad as a meal I would order just that. My husband's reuben looked great, I tasted the sauerkraut and it had a sweet taste to it. He said it was great too. We will definitely make this a favorite lunch spot!
(5)Harlin M.
Amazing food. Well worth the visit. If you're in the area make every effort to come here.
(5)Emily C.
I came in for lunch today and had the Cubano. I've had Cubans in Florida but this has it beat! The meat was savory and the bread and butter pickles made it go over the top in taste. I can't wait to try your breakfast menu!
(5)Alexis R.
The food was very good and the service was quick. We had the heart stopper and the slow roasted pork burritos. I was not impressed with the fact that they had run out of all their biscuits, All their red chili, AND all their green chili gravy on a Friday at 9 in the morning! I also was unimpressed by the fact that there was not one high chair in the joint. I saw the triple D episode and figured, oh ya! This looks likes a family friendly place. Hopefully they start getting their shit together. All in all it's decent for take out.
(3)Antonio G.
I wish I could give this place a million stars! I saw this place on Triple D a couple weeks ago and I knew I had to try it while I was out here on vacation. My whole trip was planned around spending time with family, and eating amazing food. The place itself is quaint, but don't let their size make you think they aren't producing pure art from the kitchen. There isn't much on their menu, but believe me, EVERYTHING on it is amazing. Their speciality is slow roasted meats: chicken, pork, and beef. I went with the 5-0 Filthy, which is slow roasted chicken, bacon, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, on freshly made bread. Oh yeah, and of course fresh green chile. (Come on we're in New Mexico people, everything is served with green or red chile lol) Now I am a huge sandwich fanatic, and I thought I have had some of the best sandwiches in the world....I was wrong. Bocadillos puts all other sandwich places to shame. Words can not describe how epic their sandwiches are. The chicken was dripping with flavor and all the ingredients were fresh, and of course the green chile was locally grown and amazing. My grandma had the Duke City Ruben. Oh...my...GAWD! I had an inner struggle about which sandwich was better, the 5-0 Filthy or the Duke City Ruben. The corn beef was moist and flavorful. The rye bread was fresh and soft, and their Russian dressing was on point. If you are ever in Albuquerque you have to try this place out!
(5)Iza Y.
Tried this today and was extremely impressed. I am a philly cheessteak fanatic so I ordered the cheesesteak. It was awesome! My wife hesitantly ordered the cuban. We have been to miami tried cubans but this one was delicious. If u love hot sandwiches u need to try this one.
(5)Chupacabra X.
To date I've tried the Duke City Reuben, the 5-0-Philly, the 5-0-Filthy (chicken, green chile, bacon), and the Cubano. The reuben sandwich is fantastic, like everyone says, but it's a reuben, of course it's going to the best. Every other sandwich is five stars on it's own merit. On Saturdays only they have breakfast (and vice versa). You see those breakfast burritos from Bocadillos? They've got fried eggs. Fried. Eggs (not scrambled). A+
(4)Jamie R.
A tiny little place of a restaurant but who cares when the food is good! We tried the Ruben and the T and A. Ruben was out of this world amazing, juicy, flavorful and the homemade sauerkraut took it to another level. T and A was not quite as good but also fresh with quality ingredients. All meats are slow roasted, no thin slice style here! The bread on this visit was so so with it being a simple carrier for the Ruben and dry and split on the T and A so that one was fork only. For sides we tried the chipotle potato salad and pasta salad. Both were decent tho we didn't eat much of them because we were so full from the sandwiches. I tend to love a good beverage with my sando and this is one thing that's lacking as a few Pepsi choices are a $1/can or bottled water. So next time I'll probably go to Blake's next-door and get a decent soda to have with the must have again Ruben. FYI, we overheard they no longer do breakfast burritos. As I finish this review, I'm also thinking about how genuinely relaxed and friendly the three staff were with whom we interacted. One more reason to go back!
(4)Andrew R.
Got a Philly cheesesteak here. It was awesome! The food is as far as this place goes though. More flies than I can stand and the layout is terrible. I wouldn't say this is an ABQ "have to" but it certainly is an awesome local choice for a sandwich
(4)Mohamed H.
Oh my god...best sandwich place in town. Tried the reuben and the philly... both were incredible. I did find myself saying, I wish I had some fries (they serve chips or coleslaw) but other than that, a must try!
(5)Cari C.
This place is amazing. Small menu but everything is outstanding. A friend and I split the Cubano and TNA. Both were amazing! The sandwiches are plenty big to fill you up. Definitely worth trying!
(5)Andy B.
I had the 505 Reuben and it was excellent. Very flavorful and generous with the corned beef - I highly recommend checking this place out.

Best sandwich place ever. I wouldn't even call it a sandwich place, Boca rivals any high-end restaurant when it comes to service and food. As a college coach I am always on the go especially when it comes to recruiting. I have been from the Midwest, East Coast, West Coast, Southwest, hell you name it and no place can rival Bocas when it comes taste and service. The owners and the young lady up front are very friendly and are of the highest quality when it comes to service. For you food critics I give this place a 3 Star Michelin rating.

Amazing Food! Amazing Service! I had the Philly Beef, but cannot wait to come back again and again until I have tried them ALL. Great Lunch. Thank you for doing everything SO RIGHT!
(5)Lisa G.
Best sandwiches! We love the Reuben and turkey. The food speaks for it's self. We saw them on Food Network Triple D. Awesome!
(5)Judith S.
Never ever have I tasted so much flavor in a Philly. Amazing. I wish I lived closer!!! My hubby had the Reuben, it was AMAZE-BALLS!!!!! Coming back soon, and I want to try everything, but sad because I know I'll only have room for one amazing sandwich.
(5)Doug J.
Really cool little place. They are still struggling to figure some stuff out to make this a sit down joint. But the food is the bomb. Try the Rueben, don't think you'll be disappointed.
(5)Nicholas H.
Recent vacation in ABQ and Santa Fe and our favorite lunch to enjoy was our two sandwiches at Bocadillos. Vibe is sort of like a great food truck. We had cornbeef reuben and T and A(turkey and avocado with apple chile chutney) Hope to try slow roasted pork next time I am in town. Only open till @:30 so go for lunch not dinner
(5)Chase G.
Second visit to Bocadillos. I had to order the Cubano again, and I ordered the tomato and artichoke heart salad for my side. Like my first visit, the sandwich was excellent. The salad was very good and it had a piece of mozzarella in it as a nice surprise but the salad was very small. I really need to try another one of their sandwiches...
(5)Philip B.
This place is awful. Don't go here! Ok seriously this place is my new go to place for sandwiches in Albuquerque. I think they make EVERYTHING in house. I had a split shared Cubano and the Duke City Reuben. This stuff is legit. So please don't go here. I don't want everyone in Albuquerque to find out about this place. My other companions had the 5-0-filthy, TnA and salad shooter. Their favorite was the TnA. For me the potato salad was so so. But the sandwich was omg, give me more, delicious! Shhhhhhhh! Let's keep this place a secret! Or just make sure to get there early. A+ on service!
(5)Chris K.
The best sandwich shop I've found in ABQ. The 5-0 Filthy had some great chipotle mayo, and the chicken was juicy and tender (slow-roasted after all). I also tried a bite of the famed reuben with in-house-made sauerkraut - the corned beef was seasoned to perfection, and was succulent, and the sauerkraut was great (although a little on the sweet site - not like the traditional East Coast tangy/sour version). I'll be back.
(4)Ryan P.
I had the "Ruben" which really isn't a Ruben sure it's rye bread and thousand island dressing but that is where the comparison ends. I could not tell what the meat was by taste but it looked like pulled beef with a smokey taste. There was no sauerkraut but a sweet mushy purple cabbage. Basically the sandwich was a super sweet and mushy with a hint of smoke and thousand island dressing and butter. The owner? Is super nice too Bad the sand which didn't live up to the reviews.
(2)Janelle R.
Amazing food!! My husband got the Filthy and it was so flavorful with a perfect amount of green chile! It had amazing flavor! I got the TnA and it was so yummy! The apple chutney compliments the turkey perfectly! The tomato and artichoke salad is tasty and refreshing!! We will definitely be back!! I want to try the breakfast next!
(5)Gary F.
I have to agree with one reviewers (Ryan P.) comment that the Rueben is not really a traditional Rueben but that is the only thing I agree with him. This "play" on a Rueben is excellent. The meat was so tender and flavorful, the slaw was perfect, and the portion satisfied completely. I went with the green chili soup as my side and it was pretty good. It needed a little salt and I prefer cream style but the chicken was spot on. Maybe I will try the chicken sandwich next time.
(4)Shawna R.
I just had the Duke City Reuben...and it was the best I've ever had. Simply amazing! Owner and staff are really nice, even when dealing with a rush. There isn't that much room to sit, so be prepared for that.
(5)Fran P.
The Ruben was FANTASTIC!! Too much to finish, but too good to NOT! I was pleasantly "stuffed"! The Cuban and the Philly were also terrific - got just a little taste of each from my daughter and her friend. Will be back!!!
(5)Sean W.
I have been to Bocadillos twice now, and all I can say is wow. I am blown away at how good this place is. I lived on the East Coast, where I was surrounded by delis and sandwich shops; none of them have anything on Bocadillos. This place has the best Ruben I have ever had in my life. Sorry NYC, AbQ has you beat.
(5)Rob C.
Had the Reuben and it was great. Show cooked and fun of flavor. Really friendly people and a great experience. Recommend to all!!
(5)Eric B.
Best damn sangwich I've had! Got the filthy 50 and the T n A, meat was juicy and both had great flavors.
(5)Linda J.
Great place, wonderful food! Try the 5-0-Philly meat is juicy with more than enough for big appetites. Support our local business Owners.
(4)Sally R.
Yes small, and yes a bit difficult to find...but worth it with every bite. This is a seriously fantastic sandwich hideout. Large and luscious - friendly and fast service..the ultimate Yum. Rueben is divine, their twist with red cabbage and their secret Russian are beyond great.
(5)Diane L.
Had their chicken mole at the Coffee and Chocolate festival last year. Had heard they were opening an actual restaurant, but had no idea where or when. Then lo and behold, a Living Social coupon! Finally went yesterday. I didn't have the reuben. I had the Cubano. OMG it was delicious! Smoky with a little sweet, beautifully slow roasted pork. Yum! I also ordered a "filthy", didn't have the courage to tell them it was also for me (at another meal, of course). Staff is enormously friendly. I sat at one of the 4 small outside tables and everyone that walked by asked if they could get me something else or how I was enjoying my meal. Even the guys hauling the trash asked how I was doing. I mean really, very friendly. These people could train sit-down restaurants on how to serve the public. I'm now looking for an opportunity to have them cater 'cause I want some more of that awesome mole I had last year!

(5)Lana L.
On the road from Texas to California and read the yelp reviews and decided to stop here. We called ahead to order our sandwich for lunch but we were still on Texas time and they weren't open. ALAS, they were gracious enough to make it for us anyway! When we got there, the staff was so friendly and nice. We got the filthy filly! Best sandwich we have had in a long time. Hoping to stop back here on the way home. thanks everyone!
(5)Ron W.
Excellent food and service. I have tried several of the sandwiches and would recommend them all.

(3)Chris K.

(5)Ariel M.
(4)Bella B.
BOCADILLOS

(5)Lauren W.
BEST SANDWICHES IN ABQ. Sometimes the wait is worth it, and after 25 minutes I would say it is. This round I got the Cubano with the Artichoke and Tomato salad. Absolutely delicious.
(5)Karo F.
(4)Toby W.
(3)Yunchi Z.
(5)Cindy K.
I wish I would have gotten the Cuban or the Reuben, but I ordered the TNA which was good, but the turkey didn't taste as good as I had hoped. The bread was soggy, however the unsoggy parts were delicious. I had a bite of my husband's Cuban and it was great!
(4)Christine S.
(5)Craig R.
Cannot wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. Wow! Staff was very nice and helpful. The reuben was crazy good - the kraut, 1000 island dressing and corned beef make for a perfect bite.
(5)Chris H.
(5)Joe M.
(3)Raquel G.
(5)Paul H.
I visited Bocadillos after seeing this restaurant highlighted on the Food Network by Guy Fieri. The dining area is small, rustic, full of character, and sporting memorabilia going back decades. I ordered the 5-0 Filthy, which is a shredded chicken sandwich with chipotle mayo, bacon, and green chile. The flavor, texture, heat, and savory nature of this sandwich is truly excellent. The bun was soft and perfectly held and complemented the ingredients. Each bite seemed to taste better and better, which is not something you can say about many sandwiches. I also had a side of chipotle potato salad that could have been better -- spicier with the potatoes being cooked a bit longer and a larger helping. This is a hidden gem in Albuquerque. Be sure to try them out and get sandwiches to go, too!
(5)Tony S.
The best place in town for a hot sandwich! The atmosphere is great, it's very small and quaint so don't bring a large group of people if you plan on sitting down. The menu is simple, I got the Cubano which was amazing (they were sold out of the Reuben). The Artichoke-Tomato Salad side was delicious too. The presentation was perfect and everyone was very nice. My only thought for improvement, get a soda fountain. I'll be back regardless though! :)
(5)Shelbe S.
Puts every other sandwich spot to shame! First time here but definitely not my last. Got the tna... The Apple chutney caught me by surprise in the best way.
(5)Esperanza C.
(4)Brenda N.
Went for lunch. Amazing sandwich and I loved the atmosphere. Only reason I didn't give it five stars was because my avocados were to hard to eat but everything else was awesome!

Tried this today and was extremely impressed. I am a philly cheessteak fanatic so I ordered the cheesesteak. It was awesome! My wife hesitantly ordered the cuban. We have been to miami tried cubans but this one was delicious. If u love hot sandwiches u need to try this one.

(4)Viva B.
(5)Kiley M.
Awesome!

We were on a family vacation and thanks to Yelp, we found this delicious place! Admittedly, I decided based on Yelp reviews but it definitely did NOT hurt to see that it was featured on Triple D, which I like watching. Finding it was bit tricky because 1) you can't see the sign from the side of the street we were driving on. Luckily, we had the GPS that kept telling us to turn around. 2) It's just off a weird round-about that is not common in US streets. So, NOTE #1 --- It is right next door to Blake's which you can see clearly from the road. 3) There is no real sign, I believe, just painting on the side of the wall with the name & there are 2 doors --- one to the kitchen/warehouse and the other door with a heavy duty lock that may looked locked but just requires a little muscle to pull open. When we got there, it was a tiny cafe. Maybe only 5 smallish tables. The menu was very short --- only about 5 sandwiches? --- all referenced in the various yelp reviews. As recommended by many, my husband and I opted for the recommended 5-0 Filthy. So, the question that bares asking ... Is it worth the hype??? ... And the Answer it a resounding, "HELL YEAH!!!" The bread was delicious & fresh; the meat was tasty & moist; and the green chile was the key that brought everything together. Yuuummmyyyy! As for the sides, I got the chipotle potato salad and that was very tasty. The potatoes were firm but I liked it. My husband got the coleslaw and it was meh ... nothing special. Overall, the meal was great and reasonably priced for the quality of food. So, 5 stars! Add'l Notes: We didn't bring the kids because they were out with their aunt. For planning purposes, if you are visiting the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, it's just a little down the road from there. If not, still totally worth the drive to try!

(5)Janelle R.

Excellent food and service. I have tried several of the sandwiches and would recommend them all.
