A drive in style restaurant. You can picnic outside in a covered area. We went on Taco Burger Tuesday at around 3 PM- it was slammed. After getting the tip from a lady eating at The Doghouse last time, we knew we had to try this creation of evil genius. She said the Chile fries were also the other best in town. So on Taco burger Tuesday they are 1.09 each. We were both off -with a hankering for some Chile, so we headed West to the Bob's location on old 66. The line was long and there were many orders called in too, so it ended up being a 25 minute wait for fast food,(a bit long). knowing this I would call in my order next time so the wait is cut down. Also they have no bathrooms or porta johns, so that is a bit inconvenient. We decided to order 3 Taco burgers a foot long Chile cheese dog, Xmass chile cheese fries, and a med Dr Pepper, it came to 12$. We finally got our food and everything was hot and fresh. The Taco burgers had a good crunch, they have Nacho cheese, and lettuce and maybe another sauce, they are mildly spicy. The burger is not outstanding, but as a whole it is a concoction worthy of stoner legend. Chile dog had a good smokey flavor and was a joy of a mess to eat. Fries were good, and unlike the Doghouse they do an Xmass chile option. The Chile sauce is fiery and delicious.To get on this chile sauce ride- you must me this tall, and have trained for it for a minimum of a year. It should not be ordered for small children, pregnant woman, and anyone with a tricky ticker. In all seriousness, I love NM Chile sauce, if I ever move away- I am going to have serious withdrawals, and fantasize constantly about my lost spicy lover. Other options here are milkshakes, floats and sundaes, Taquito's( they have a taquito boat- which is on my list to try next time), bigger burgers, I am not sure what a tortilla burger is but I am enticed.

I must be in Albuquerque because my nose is really running as I eat green chile cheese fries! My wife and I had the Old Fashioned Burger, but she passed on the chile fries. Lots of warmth in those fries. I was a humanitarian and did not feed any to the pigeons lurking around the tent where we ate. Burgers were excellent. We also got to watch them building the new location next door.

Flies all over this dirty looking place but i dont scare easily. Got a couple of the burgers with chili and fries with chili, should have read the reviews here first though, because that was too. much. chili. Ruined the rest of my day and I cant say it was worth it. Good food, low prices, but you pay for it in the end.

This whole in the wall has some great food! I went for the Taco Burger at first I was kinda sceptical about the combination, but after the first bite I was sold. The chile is awesome, a burning sensation within my mouth, but later that day my stomach was responding differently. I really did not care, I made up my mind to go later that day again. I also had a taste of the Chile dog, also a hit like the taco burger. I wish they had a place like this in LA, cause Tommy's has nothing on this spot.

I MUST make a stop at Bob's Burgers whenever I'm in Albuquerque. The first time I had Bob's I thought it was weird and didn't really like it. After the second time I was completely hooked. It's your typical greasy burger joint, BUT - the chile is amazing. It's a local favorite.The chile definitely isn't for the faint of heart so if that's not your thing, you might not like this place. I will usually order the frito pie (red chile) and rachero burger (green chile) and my boyfriend will get all of the above and a chili dog. The chile is hot, like you're wiping your nose and sweating hot, but as others have mentioned it's completely addicting. I think that the chile is what makes these dishes, otherwise they're probably just OK, but the chile is the star, so let it shine! The food is also really cheap! My boyfriend and I can get a plethora of burgers, hot dogs, frito pie, etc for under $20. I rarely give a place 5 stars, but this is one of my favorite dives ever.

An acquaintance of mine told me that her favorite place in Albuquerque was Bob's Burgers, so I had to give it a shot when I was in town. One bite of the Green Chile Ranchero Burger was enough where I can truly say that it was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. The chile (I also had green chile fries) is very flavorful and also very "hot" (so if you don't like spicy food, you will not like it). My mouth was still somewhat burning 20-30 minutes after my meal. New Mexico is known for their chile and this place doesn't disappoint.

Truly, when you see a local person wiping their nose... You know it's the #realdealholyfield!!!! Who goes to New Mexico & eats burgers & fries... Hello yours truly!!!! Ha!!!! Not your classic burger & this was my quest; quest completed & I enjoyed. The taco burger is an amp sized hamburger strip, layered with cheese & lettuce all wrapped in a tortilla wrap... Yummmmmmy!!! Seasoned just right, almost too spicy, but not that spicy. The Green chile cheese fries live in a lane all by themselves. You AIN'T eating them without some iced liquid beverage nearby, this I promise. Just the right amount of cheese:green chile:French fry ratio. You walk up to the window to place your order & return to your car to wait for your number to be called over a P.A. System. Not a mandate, just what is done; it works, so go with it. Inexpensive eating. Quick preparation. And order taking & filling. They make suggestions & are patient with newbies like myself. I see a repeat visit in my future!!!!

I'm not sure of why there is such a rage over Bob's burgers.My burger was dry and flavorless. I suppose if you add a bunch of stuff (chill et al...which I didn't) it accentuates the taste, but I just wanted a good burger. I didn't find that at Bob's.

HOT CHILE!!! Good food! My son got the foot long chili dog, should say it's a CHILE dog! Lol, he finished it! His eyes were watering his face and ears were bright red and he got this weird neck twitching. He asked for ice cream! Great French fries! Wish the burger was big home style patty, instead it was thin with an funky texture.

Bobs is addicting and not for the weak when it comes to their chile. Being an Albuquerque native I'm used to having Bobs with just enough ghetto fabulous on the side but I am writing this review because of the great and professional customer service I received today at this location. Looks like they not only redesigned the location but the attitude and customer service also!

I dream about these green chile cheeseburgers. Seriously. Since we moved to Washington, DC, we just cannot find an adequate substitute. When I think of comfort food, I think first of Mom and Abuelita of course and then... of Bob's Green Chile Cheeseburgers. Every time we come home to visit our family, we pick up our luggage, get our rental car, then head straight to Bob's. Awww... it's making me sad just thinking about it.

Amazing. Chili-cheese burger, chili-cheese dog, chili-cheese fires, and taquitos are all the best I've ever had. I come all the way from Denver for these. Expect a tummy ache. It's totes worth it.

This place looks like a dive... so it attracted my attention. I've found some of the best food in "dives...." We were on the prowl for a good Green Chile Cheeseburger and when I saw the line and the full parking lot, that was the clincher. We waited about 20 minutes for our food and this place was slammed. Found out that this is the original location for Bob's. The Cheeseburger (I had the one with everything including Chile) was excellent. The Chile had the right burn! Burned going in and ... well you know the rest. The fries were perfect. Had some "plain" with ketchup and some with Chile and Cheese. The kids had shakes which were good. So if you are looking for a "low town" place to eat, try this place! NOTE: Locals told me that this is the best location. It's certainly the "dingiest" looking but that's OK with me...

I have a love / hate relationship with this place. I LOVE the chile, yet I know when I have it that my body will almost immediately reject it like an alien parasite in my intestines. Why, oh why must something that tastes SO good be so hurtful? Last time I visited the folks in ABQ, I went here for my yearly fix and got something called "christmas" on my fries, which apparently is some kind of mix of red and green chile. Tried it, loved it and spent the rest of the day with cramping, burning diarrhea. But did this stop me? No! I instead decided to show them who was boss and went back for more! What the hell is wrong with me? Am I the only one who suspects there is crack in the chile? What the hell compels me to hurt myself like this over and over again?? I'd love to say I will never go back, but think we all know that' s a big lie.Damn you Bob's! Damn you and your delicious, gut wrenching chile to hell! You know I'll be back!!!!

If my stepmom didn't recommend this spot I would've for sure driven right past it. It's not fancy, by any means...BUT it has some killer foor!! We got the infamous Taco Burger and the Green Chile Cheese Fries. OMG....so freakin' good. It is definitely not for kids or people who don't like spicy foods. I love, love, love spicy food and this food was almost a little too hot even for me. I managed to scarf my food down (wish took about 2 minutes...lol) and let me tell you it was delicious!! I seriously wish I could get these Green Chile Cheese Fries in Cali, I am hooked. I will definitely be going back again!

When I first moved to albuquerque from socal, I came with my parents to try bob's...it was waay too hot, couldn't even enjoy it hott!! After living here for about 5yrs and having become a new mexican fire-eater,i tried it again with my gf, it was awesome!! Another guy said he suspects that they must put crack cocaine in the chile, I totally agree!! You will get high off the chile!! Seriously, this is addicting!! I've now been eating here for about 15 yrs..i think about it a lot!i need help..lol..ok get the ranchero burger,i prefer just green chile and cheese double meat, green chile cheese fries ,4 taco burgers. I can't eat it in one sitting, so I save some for later, like I said it's addicting..i wake up sometimes shaking, waiting in front till they open..1030 am :( HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!. This place is not for the dainty-faint of heart,if you can't handle spicy food, go to Blake's lotaburger...if ur down..hit the OG bob's on central, or down in the valley on rio bravo..all the others are weak, light chile booshit...REAL TALK
