On this day we stopped in with a friend for lunch, though there were several missteps I still give a positive review because of how it was handled. My wife ordered the teriyaki sirloin but received the teriyaki chicken, I ordered the sauteed onions for my steak but they got left off. In both cases the issue was remedied and the manager offered a free desert because we had to wait on an entree (thank you) which we accepted and enjoyed. This is service folks, you can see better how a business functions by how it recovers from missteps than how they perform when everything works well and they did great. In the end we all enjoyed our entrees and I was pleasantly surprised at the new menu. Our waiter kept our drinks full (again thank you) and was attentive to our needs throughout the meal. I frequently brought business meetings here for lunch because the atmosphere is private and inviting for a meeting. We'll be back for sure, I'm not sure I've ever had a *bad* experience here.

We decided to try out Black Angus for lunch Monday. We were hesitant due to the ratings for the most part, but went anyway and were pleasantly surprised. We had fast service, very attentive wait staff and didn't have to ask for a thing. It probably had to do with the quality of our waitress--she was great. The food was very good, we had appetizer and orders ranging from sandwiches to prime rib and filet mignon. Maybe it was the day, time of day, and/or waitstaff but we were very pleased and will definitely return. Oh yea, we also like the private booths.

Poorly cooked and poorly cut filet and rib eye. Service was fine Place was pretty dirty, the wood walls were covered with massive dust bunnies Certainly not worth the $60 + tip spent there. YMMV but I doubt it

Food was very salty, almost inedible. Service was very slow and took almost an hour and a half after ordering to get our food. You should definitely try somewhere else. On the plus side, the molasses bread was pretty good.

I use to come here with my parents years ago and remember it to be higher scale. Guess it's changed! My husband and I came here for happy hour a few times and have been dissapointed by the service every time. The food is good but the waitresses are rude an unattentive. We had a fly in our artichoke and they just treated it like it was no big deal. Not a happy cusromer. The manager did not handle it well, she brought us a new artichoke, I said hmmm maybe we can get another round of beers she immediately picked up the artichoke and said "oh I can get u that instead" wow really she just finished saying how that has only happened three times. Comon man! We werent even asking for a free beer but for her to treat us as we were and treat us that way was just ridiculous...

Things could have been better.the waitress was friendly but everything took her so long to get to us.we did end up talking to the gm and she did help with things.ho0fully the customer service improves for future people.its not the first time things were slow.i can say once we accually got the food it was hot and good.

Sitting here waiting for a table. 40 minute wait, according to the hostess. Figured I would take the time to comment on how poorly trained the hostess is. Not even a hello. No smile. Just, "how many?" "40 minutes". Nice for the ambiance!

It's a chain steakhouse, so you know what you're going to get. The food is good. They have a full service bar with a nice happy hour. The place is clean. But what is up with the service here? When our food came out, it looked like they had plated the wrong steak with the sides. I asked, "Is this the sirloin or the filet?" The young lady proceeded to tell me there was no way she could tell, it wasn't her table. What? So I asked, "You don't know the difference?" She said no, and then huffed over to the bar and proceeded to tell the bartender what a jerk I was. Now, I may be a jerk, but I'm not deaf. Suggestion: if you want to complain about the customers, wait until they're gone. The manager was really nice and saved the day by being attentive and polite. She checked backing us a few times. However, our server seemed to have been briefed by her coworker and sort of disappeared after the incident. Maybe the manager told her she'd take care of us? So, decent food, good bar, fair price, odd service....

There is not much to say about it. The service is terribly sub par, the food is bland, and the place smells old and dusty.

We went in for dinner about 4:30 on a Monday. -The service was fine, better than average. -The wedge salad was fine. -The small fillet was very good. -The 12oz. ribeye was horrible, not even warm, greasy, and one step below a Florsheim reject for a shoe sole. -The garlic mashed potatos were like dry putty and also COLD. -The bread could have been used as a hockey puck it was so hard. Overall impression, no kitchen oversight and little pride in their products. For a $77 meal + tip, it was nowhere worth it! I'll spend my money elsewhere... Never again at a Black Angus.

I went here for my birthday in March. It was delicious. Although the proportions seems to have been off to me. Some steaks were entirely too small and rib orders were large. Delicious either way though. Staff was friendly, good atmosphere, clean. Wasn't busy when I was there. Not sure if that was usual or unusual.

The service was less than steak house worthy and some of our dishes were served cold. They started vacuuming in the dining area before we left. It just wasn't pretty. The parking lot is pretty vacant these days. That speaks for itself.

Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place before 3p.m if you want hot food and great customer service. The bartender was extremely rude because she had to wait on tables and also make drinks so when we arrived it took 10 minutes before someone arrived to or table and she shocked me that she was my waitress because they were hanging up football signs and she was directing one of the other employees on how to properly hang the advertisement. The food was cold once it arrived at the table and it was an incorrect order the server never returned back to the table to ask us If we needed anything we felt extremely disrespected and would not recommend this place to anyone that is diverse, this place seems to need some diversity sensitivity training.

The good, the bad, and the ugly. The good: -excellent food - everything on the menu is delicious -outstanding atmosphere - tall booths provide lots of privacy. You can have a casual dinner with t-shirt and jeans, or a fancy date. -great cocktails - strong and delicious, lots of combinations. The bad: -Order your steak one shade rarer than you want it, because they tend to overcook a bit. -The waiters can be curt and kinda rude. Its been about 50/50 in all the times we've gone. The ugly: -In general, over many visits and many waiters, the service is super slow. We arrived at 6. Got drinks by 6:20. Put our order in at 6:30... finished with dinner and out the door by 8:15. -Only go here if you have lots of time to devote to dinner.

Chain Food. The meal comes your table looking exactly like the menu photo~ weird... Also very salty. My Guinness beer was filled to the rim though so I was happy with that. Personnel were all cool ~ at least they were real.

We've tried this place three times and will never go back. The server was not friendly at all and when asked for refills it appeared that we were bothering her. We went for dinner and there was only 4 other couples but the wait was ridiculous.I ordered a Garden Salad which was okay nothing special, my husband ordered the Caesar Salad which was delicious. I ordered the Sesame-Teriyaki Top Sirloin (8oz). Not good at all, it was overcooked and tough like leather, I had the Roasted Brussels Sprout and they were so-so nothing special. My husband had the Mushroom & Bleu Cheese Filet Mignon and that too was overcooked and not tender at all. Our 3rd experience was just as bad as the the 1st and 2nd. I try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt (we all have bad days) and that's the reason I didn't post a review previously.

One of the best if not the best steak house in Albuquerque. I celebrated my anniversary here a week ago and it was great like always. It is a huge restaurant with big tables and great for a big party. The bar is right in front of the restaurant. It has a really good look. You need to come hungry because no matter what you order you receive a lot of food. I can't get enough of the prime rib. Hands down the best cut of meat you can get. The best deal they have on the menu is dinner for 2. That comes with 1 appetizer, 2 sides for dinner and choice of meat. Then 1 dessert. This is a very good place to have a night out or to celebrate a special event.

This review is based on lunches only, but keep in mind I'm not really reviewing the steak portion of it becaaauuuuuseee I got chicken. Both times. I'm that girl. With that said, the first time I had half a grilled chicken salad with avocado on it paired with a ceasar salad. Loved it. Great, juicy, flavorful chicken, smooth creamy avocado, and tasty easy-to-please dressing on my salad. The bread was a little tough, but toughness can easily be combatted with butter. And it was. No but really, they could have cooked the bread just a little less. Other than that, the first trip was smooth sailing. I had a blackberry lemonade drink, very fresh and fizzy, sweet and sour, and everything I wanted. The server was very friendly and even packed some To-Go teas for the rest of the table. Super helpful, attentive, recommended things, and had no problem returning my friend's steak to the kitchen when she thought it was a little over done. Brought back a new one in a timely manner, and all was well. Oh, side note, I had a piece of broccoli and I really liked it. Cooked it and left behind just enough crunch... not soggy or raw, just right. I need to try the asparagus sometime. My next visit was the exact same for the food. This time we were seated in the bar though... I ordered a wedge instead of the ceasar; only difference. We were originally greeted by the bartender I would say, but then he got busy and just stopped coming around. We had two joiners and after a while a girl showed up to get their drinks. By this time, another tea at the table was empty, but she didn't bring a pitcher to refill it and we didn't have time to mention it because after she took the order she whisked away. She took the food order, brought the food, did not bring bread, and we tried to flag her down on several occasions but she was like the roadrunner bird. We needed napkins, refills, extra dressing, steak sauce... just the typical stuff you need and is usually handled in roughly five seconds. We had to get up and walk to the host stand to get more silverware settings for our joiners. It was just a train wreck from the service standpoint. It was actually a day before my birthday, so my bosses had brought a cake for me and given it to the host stand to put in the freezer. When my boss tried to discreetly mention it to the server she was like, oh okay. And then five minutes later came back and said, Oh I didn't really know what you were talking about. Why didn't she ask for clarification at that time? lol. My boss had to get up, go find the hostess she gave the cake to, and then finally they sorted it out. The server brought the cake out in the Coldstone bag and just plopped it on the center of the table. She didn't get it out of the bag, bring forks, plates, anything. It was so weird lol. I mean I didn't mind because I was just surprised and happy there was cake... but my boss was super ticked. She had already had a horrible experience and then the presentation of the cake just really hit her weak spot. She talked to the manager and complained, and the manager said, thanks for the input, but that was about it. I guess I can stick to boring classic entrees and enjoy it, but if the service isn't on point, it can be one bad ride of a meal. All in all, I'll still give it three stars until I try again.

A leftover from the 1980s in terms of style and decor (uh guys you've had 3 decades to vamp up a bit). The only thing not from that period is the price. Never a lot of people, yet service is slow. I almost feel like I am bothering them when I ask for a table. For lamb, hit the casinos with a Navajo menu. Not the best quality meat--I mean steak--not for the price. Go Mexican if you want steak. Hit up the New Orleans style restaurants for crawfish and pretend you're eating lobster. Do all three suggestions for the price of what one lousy visit to Black Angus will cost you. Oh and anyplace that allows you to take a $7.00 bottle of wine with you--is better than the $7.00 glass of house wines that are not good at all. Last time the salad was not crisp and I could not tell you about desert since I rarely order that, but it seems the crowd there does considering the local pictures of the place.

My husband go to BA because of the bulls eye bar menu. You can get a nice shrimp cocktail for $5 and their cocktail sauce is spicy (which I love). We also get Southwest Airlines rapid rewards points for dining there so that is a bonus. Service can be slow at times if the bar is full. They have really good happy hour drinks specials as well.

The food is usually pretty good but the service is hit or miss. Had one of the least attentive waitresses I've had in a long time tonight. If the food here wasn't good I doubt I'd come back. I use to come here all the time 2ish years ago and they had a fantastic wait staff.

My wife and I rarely eat out and when we do we are typically disappointed. My wife is very picky and a bit judgmental of wait staff. We were pleasantly surprised with our dining experience at Black Angus. Our food was delicious and cooked perfectly, our server was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant was clean. We were so Impressed and will definitely return.

We ate here a couple of weekends ago for a "remembrance/celebration of life" for a dear friend who passed away. This was one of his favorite places to go, so it made sense we would celebrate him here. I guess, being a home body and liking my side of town, it was quite a feat to get me all the way over here. In particular, I am a steak snob! I wasn't crazy about my rib eye. It was pretty fatty and very thin. Just not what I am used to. I did enjoy my appetizer which was a steamed artichoke. Very tasty. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and will only be back if our friends choose this place for next years celebration.

This place isn't what it used to be. We went for a nice quiet dinner (what BA used to be) and in the middle of dinner, they turned up the tv to show a basketball game. Didn't know this turned into a sports bar/ Applebees, but that's what it felt like. Steak had too much fat on it and we got our dessert to go to avoid the very loud tvs. I won't be back.

We came for dinner for 4 on a Monday night. We were seated promptly by a nice young lady. We were greeted by Miguel who immediately took our drink order. The drinks were tasty, well portioned but a bit lacking in a full shot of the appropriate alcohol. We had a dinner for two coupon which also included an appetizer. We asked if we could get the sampler and we surprised that we could! We ordered Filets & Prime Rib, all cooked to the correct temp. My cut of Prime a Rib was very tasty but just a touch grisly. The Filets were perfect! We ordered dessert which was awesome, & a good finish to the meal. Thanks for a great dining experience! Our meals were priced well for what we received. Good portions, great service! The only draw back was the short shot in the drinks. We'll be back!

Black Angus delivers the pinnacle in great steak and great service! Dale and AJ are the bombs -- I highly recommend requesting one of them when you go! They do tend to over-cook, so just order a step rarer, and you're good. The desserts are also AMAZING.

I've been here four times in the past few months. The food has been consistently good. Service somewhat slow on our last visit. The high booths are nice; you feel like you have the place to yourself, even when there are lots of people there.

Unbelievably bad service coupled by horrible steaks cooked by incompetent "chefs". They claimed they were serving Prime beef, but the discount steaks at Walmart are better. I myself and a large group of family and friends recently ate at Black Angus for Thanksgiving and every single person was absolutely disgusted with everything about this place, the food is not fresh by any means, the vegetables are clearly frozen and not fresh, they are very limited on soda- I mean honestly you don't carry the two most popular flavors in the world, that's just a bad business decision. The turkey dinner was the absolute most disgusting thing I have ever tasted! I wouldn't even feed the crap they serve out of that place to my Pitbull. Maybe Black Angus needs a visit from Chef Ramsey to show your untrained "chefs" how to cook and present a dish and actually add flavor to it rather than sending it out tasting like cardboard. On top of the shitty service all the silverware and glasses were full of food and lip marks and just completely unclean which says a lot about what is going on inside that kitchen. THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND THE PRICE THEY CHARGE FOR WHAT COMES OUT OF THAT KITCHEN IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS SO CALLED STEAKHOUSE.

I was told this was a very nice restaurant and that the food was delicious I thought the opposite my burger was so dry! it was just not good at all. Service was good but..won't go back

Black Angus is my "go to" restaurant for excellent prime rib. It's consistent & delicious. My adult son is happy to meet me there for good food & good conversation. I highly recommend the location on Wyoming in NE Albuquerque.

I had lunch here awhile back. I sat at the bar, since I was eating alone. The bartender was working hard, but she was overwhelmed. The food was okay; nothing special.

How is this place still open? Gross food and gross people is what dwells in this cave of a building.
