Reasonable lunchtime prices, but food is very average. The sauces are a bit bland and taste like take-out. Still, not bad, but does not impress.

So bad that our dog, who is known for eating dirty cat litter and his own vomit, refused to touch it. $35+ worth of food went into the trash. On top of that, when I first called to place an order, I got reprimanded for having the gall to request food from a restaurant. You'd be better off at Panda Express, and that's saying a lot.

As always Best Lee's is Awesome! Of course the pot stickers are a must, the orange chicken is tonight's dinner and it is the best in town.. Along with the staff every meal has been great! Keep up the good work.

Great food. Was tired from moving a friend's family and the meal was great. Walnut shrimp, orange chicken, Gen tsao beef. Attractive presentation, too. And more. I'll definitely be back and bring friends. It's worth the trip to the north end of town.

The food was lackluster at best. Got garlic chicken and general chicken, plus an order of egg rolls. Garlic chicken could've been any chicken dish-not spicy at all. General chicken was mushy and again, not spicy. Egg rolls seemed like they had been sitting for a while. The heat-less "hot" mustard couldn't help them.

The ambiance may be simple but the food was anything but. Dim Sum was yum for our starters and my duck dish was as tasty as it was a pleasure to look at. The hostess and manager were a bit thrown off and nervous about my service dog at first but with some reassurance on my part and she being so well behaved everyone relaxed and our experience was a pleasure.

Best chinese food in Albuquerque. The General Tso's chicken is excellent, the garlic chicken is fantastic, and the pot stickers are heavenly. There is nothing here that isn't good. Even their Thai food is good! If you haven't been, you have to go visit your favorite chinese uncle!

Good Chinese is hard to find here. This is pretty good. Good Peking Dumplings and sauce. Ginger Glaze Chicken is wonderful. Service is good. The owner can actually be a little overbearing he is so friendly.

First time here. I'd go back again and give them a second shot. The waitress/only person working the front end was a bit icy. I am not sure she cracked a smile the entire time we were there. The house special pan fried noodles were not bad, they weren't the best I've had either. The fried rice however was too wet and lacked anything resembling flavor. I am finding a trend here that "Chinese" restaurants are serving Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese food as well. I DONT GET IT. Focus on one thing and do it well, that's all I want. And when my husband asks for chopsticks and says "we would like chopsticks" and uses plural, the response shouldn't be "just one?" I get it, I'm white, he's Chinese. Kind of a pet peeve of mine :P

When we first moved to NE Albuquerque we went on a mission to find "The Best Chinese Takeout" in our neighborhood. We found it at Best Lee's. The food is always fresh, hot & tasty. The service is always fast and friendly, especially that of our "Chinese uncle", the lovely host who refers to himself as such. The menu is quite varied and has plenty of choices for whatever your mood desires. Our favorites are the Honey Walnut Chicken and the Thai Spicy Won ton.

We got the Family Dinner D take out. All the food was delicious and stayed fresh in the containers provided. Staff was friendly and efficient both on the phone and at the counter. Great Chinese.

It looks a little getthoish from the outside, but inside is done nicely. I was little worried b/c I saw it said Gourmet food but just about everything was under 10 dollars. $10 gourmet food sounded a little sketchy. I got the General Tso's chicken. It came with rice for just under 10 dollars. Again, I was not expecting much. However, I was extremely impressed with the presentation of the food. The quality was great too. It was not overfried or over battered like a lot of places I've been to. Bottom line is that this is the best Asian restaurant I've been to in a long, long time. Great food, beautiful presentation, great service, clean restaurant.

I came here for dinner. There weren't very many patrons, but regardless it was pretty good. When ordering, the waitress gave us recommendations for ordering the special but we went with our preference instead. The dumplings were good as were the chicken dishes. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of Thai curry although others thought it was good. I was thoroughly impressed with the fortune cookies at the end of dinner though! They were chocolate covered!

The food is fairly good but the service has deteriorated. I used to work in the area and often frequented the establishment but have moved. An older woman who waited on us several times has been pushy and unhelpful. When our tip reflected the poor service received she actually came back to the table to confront us. This I found to be completely ridiculous. A friend asked me to return several months later for a lunch pick up order and when we picked up the food the same woman actually flicked the tip box at us indicated she felt the service deserved a tip...glad I didn't leave one as they failed to give us utensils. Service is poor and her behavior seems greedy. I will not return again.

The pot stickers here are amazing and the hot and sour soup is great too- the only problem is the main waiter during the lunch hour can be rude! If she has more than one table she acts like we are all a pain! Other than that good food!

I was in the mood for some Chinese take-out that was nearby and good, so I grabbed my iPhone and went to yelp! where I found Best Lee's Restaurant had received good reviews. I decided to give it a try and went to their website to download a pdf of the menu. When I called in to order I was greeted happily and told it would be ready in 10-11 minutes, but wasn't given a total. I headed out to pick up the food and it was ready when I arrived a few minutes later. The place was empty but looked nice inside and was clean. I was immediately greeted by an older Asian gentleman who told me I was beautiful and sang a song about how I should be dancing in the White House in the dress I was wearing (which was actually a swimsuit cover-up). Of course I instantly loved him, I mean what woman doesn't like being sang to about how beautiful she is? I ordered chicken fried rice, cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and beef with garlic. It came out to $37 which seemed a little high but I gave him $40 for the singing. They have some family combos available for less money but the menu stated that there was a charge for substitutions and none of them had what I wanted. The food was packaged nicely in a brown paper bag and it was secure enough that I didn't need to worry about it spilling in my car on the drive home. I thought that the food was a good quality, and agree with other reviewers that it was not overly greasy. When I got home I realized I'd also received white rice that must have been included with one of the dishes I ordered, so maybe next time I won't order the fried rice because it was way too much rice. Overall I was very pleased with the food and the service, but $40 for takeout was a bit high in my opinion.

We've ordered from Best Lee's several more times in the last few months. Sometimes we get really good food, and sometimes it's pretty mediocre. I think the best time to order is on weekends. Weekday food seems as if it's been sitting around; and/or maybe they have a different chef on the weekend. For whatever reason, the food is just not as good during the week.

Went there for Mother Day the service was horrible. Never understood a word she said n when asked what she said she walked away. Food was mediocre at best. Had Kung pao, flavorless n not spicy. Second time there and first visit wasn't much better. Not going back! Word to the wise, don't waste your time and money. I won't! Aft

Last Sunday my husband & I ate at Best Lee's. We've eaten there many times in the past. When I presented the coupon for 20% off, the waitress refused to honor it. She does not speak much English but said it was not good on holidays. Dec. 28th was NOT a holiday. The fine print on the coupon said "Min. $25 before tax. 1 Coupon per table. Exp. 2-18-15." Our total exceeded $25. I decided not to challenge her as there were others nearby, but maybe I should have. By the way, there was another incident when I went there by myself many months ago when the same waitress did not want to honor a coupon I had for lunch. At that time she claimed it was not good for just one person. After I challenged her by saying there was nothing stated about that restriction on the coupon, she relented. I'm getting the impression this restaurant likes to make up arbitrary rules but I will say the food is good.

Food was good. We have not had a bad meal here. I love the presentation of the entree. Atmosphere is very nice. They use actual linen napkins and modern plates. Our server was great. Best Lee's is locally owned. Stop by and visit your Chinese Uncle Mike. He is very personable and makes the visit fun.

Although they do not deliver, I find the online ordering very convenient for takeout. The website is easy to follow and easy to use. I have problems ordering take out from other Asian establishments due to language barriers. I've now explored many items on the menu and am happy with almost everything I tried. This is my go to chinese takeout for those long days where I'm too tired to cook.

I just stopped in to stand in the air conditioning and ended up having some soup and garlic beef. The wonton soup is pretty special. The wontons were perfect; not chewy, not pasty, oh baby they were good. Also, the pieces of garlic floating in the broth made me smile like a dork. I will be going back for this after at least one my bi-weekly back crack appointments across the street. The garlic beef was spicy, almost spicy enough for me - but i'm a hot food junky. The beef seemed way higher in quality than most and not cooked beyond recognition. I'll have to try it again. Maybe they thought I was someone important, which I am - but not when it comes to judging Chinese food. I should have tried the tea - they had a slew of really nice sounding teas - but man, it was way too hot out for that. I've mentioned my hatred for this part of town in other reviews, but it bears repeating. I hate this part of town. It might as well be Phoenix, which is unworthy of anything. I wouldn't travel all the way over there for food but since I already have to go, I will go again. And one more thing: other reviewers seemed upset by an uncle figure that hosts. He wasn't there, but I can't wait to see what all the hubbub is about.

I reluctantly had to come here because my grandmother wanted Chinese food but didn't want to drive for more than 5 minutes from her house. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by an older gentleman who I guess was the host, and told us to call him "uncle". I found this a bit strange but brushed off the kitschiness. Once we sat down, the host approached us again and told us that Best Lee's has the best Chinese food in Albuquerque. I tried to kindly ignore him and make it clear that I just wanted to have lunch with my grandmother. We ordered some egg rolls and split the seafood pan-fried noodles, since my grandmother has a small appetite. The host, who also took our order, asked us why we were only ordering one main dish, which I found a bit irritating. The egg rolls were of standard fare and filled with some carrots, celery and cabbage. The seafood pan-fried noodles consisted of egg noodles swimming in a goopy sauce. The portion was quite large, which was easily enough for two women. I do like the simple decor of the place, but I'm sorry to say that's about it. I could see why this sort of place would appeal to some American diners that like overly-attentive staff and have a misconception of what Chinese/Asian food is like.

Decent Chinese food, decent prices. I've never eaten inside, but it looks nice. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Best Lee's, it is just standard Chinese food. The takeout menu is pretty great though- the grammar mistakes are awesome. "Now We Selling Beer and Wine!" "200% No MSG" "Any Item Change Price is Change"

This review applies to the Best Lee's location in the far NE heights. We got a Best Lee's menu in the mail the other day, and we decided to check them out since it isn't too far from our house. First impressions were good. The decor is spare and clean, with only a few big crystal chandeliers as concessions to the Chinese passion for gaudiness. The manager and most of the help (mostly young men) were chattering away in Mandarin in the service area (another good sign), and the youth who seated us reminded me a lot of my nephew Luke. I'm not sure what all those young men were doing there, though (filling takeout orders, perhaps?) since a friendly little blond girl was doing most of the waitressing. We chose an assortment of dishes to try: shrimp with candied walnuts, house-special pan fried noodles, mu shu pork, and steamed ginger-scallion red snapper. The shrimp that came in the first 2 dishes were huge! Knowing how shrimp can shrink when cooked, I was seriously impressed; they must have been enormous when raw. And boy, were they good, like little lobster tails. The noodles themselves were disappointing since the brown sauce was somewhat boring and a bit oversalted, but the shrimp, beef, chicken, and other noodle toppings were well cooked. We liked the fact that they used slices of fresh jicama in place of canned water chestnuts. Jicama provides a very similar texture sensation to water chestnuts but without the preserved canned flavor. The mu shu pork wraps were solidly executed. Nothing exciting there, but then nobody expects excitement from mu shu pork. (If you do, then you really should try to get out more.) The steamed snapper was delicious although it was a bit of a surprise, considering the price, that we were served only one fillet rather than a whole fish. Filets are certainly easier to eat, but I'd rather have less convenience and more food. The only real disappointment was the tea. I chose the peony tea off a teabag menu, based on the description of it being "fragrant" and "floral". Perhaps the water in the pot wasn't hot enough (which was my other tea-related gripe), but the resulting tea had very little flavor or fragrance. Observation 1: The tables are topped with slippery glass. If you have wiggly children, keep an eye out. An incautiously waved hand or elbow could cause the ceramic tableware to slide right off the table onto the floor. A really enthusiastic push and the glass table top itself could end up in your lap. Observation 2: The tables are narrow, and the serving platters are stylishly modern, i.e., large. We ordered 4 dishes, and had to drag an extra 2-person table to the end of our booth table to accommodate everything. All in all, it was a good experience. Except for the steamed fish, we felt that we got a reasonable value for our money.

Best Lee's is the best place in Albuquerque to get good Chinese food. The restaurant is very clean and staffs are friendly. I love almost everything on the menu. My kids love the orange peel chicken. My personal favorite dish is the black bean chicken. It has all white meat chicken and great mixture of vegetables in a black bean sauce and top with fresh basil. It is heavenly! I also love the Kong Bao shrimp, it has a nice flavor and the shrimps are so fresh!!!! 5 stars!!!

I was originally going to give this place 2 stars, based on the quality of my dish and the initial service, but by the end of the meal they had worked on me enough that I'll bump 'em up a star. To start with, when they initially took our order we ordered won-tons at the same time we ordered our main courses. Take note, the older lady doesn't speak much English. You have to point to the item you want on the menu. When our order arrived we noticed no won-tons. We asked about it and the woman (not the one who took the order) notified us that they take 45 minutes. That information would have been useful from the outset, but whatever. My shrimp were overcooked and not so good. My date's kung pow chicken was OK. Verdict: stick with stuff that'd be hard to mess up. Don't go fancy. The half chocolate dipped fortune cookies were tasty. So, 3 stars for you, Lee's.

Full disclosure: I'm Asian, with Asian persuasion. I loved best lee's for a long time. Their sweet and sour fish is not only elegantly dressed, but the price is well worth the taste. Unfortunately, the food quality has deteriorated. Even their classic combo chow mein was worse than an American attempt at chow mein. The saddest part.. the ownership seems to have changed. There used to be a really friendly Chinese guy who greeted and cracked jokes. He used to tell my son that he's his Chinese uncle...When I went there years later, a bill collector had confronted the manager, and the manager (not the Chinese uncle) decided to argue with him in front of customers, including me. Hopefully things change back for this establishment. I have hope that they'll bring back the good Chinese food and hospitality.

We enjoy the food there. You can ask for the authentic Chinese food menu only in Chinese. You may not be able to read it if you are not Chinese. But they do offer real Chinese food.

Food: 2.5 Service: 2 Value: 1 Since it's one of the closest restaurants to where we've recently moved, we decided to give Best Lee's a try for lunch. And boy were we disappointed. I ordered the fried rice, while the wife ordered the pan fried noodles. The pan fried noodles was decent, but the fried rice was soggy and inedible. I'm not sure how fried rice can be messed up, but somehow, they managed. Sadly, their fried rice was slightly worse than that from Panda Express. Yet they had no problem charging $8.95 for just the fried rice. The pan fried noodles were $11.95. My recommendation? Go somewhere else. A two-item combo place would've been a smarter choice.

Good fresh Asian food. We like many of the dishes. They use nice fresh veggies that are cut into nice big chunks.

I have eaten here a handful of times. Each time has left me hoping to come back and try yet another flavor. All the meals have been very good. This outing, I tried their lunch special Shrimp in Lobster sauce. It was served with Hot & Sour soup and fried rice. Lots of flavor, and the service was solid and welcoming. Maybe I have just been lucky compared to others in the service department.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
