I haven't got much to tell you, but what I've got is good. I ran in here to grab something to go and bring back to the office. Easy to find, the place is spacious inside with lots of tables. The woman at the counter was friendly and was working it, bagging, talking, ringing up ... she was doing the work of 2.5 people and making it look easy. I looked at the menu and panicked for a second. Everything was chicken/pork/dead things. So I asked if they had anything vegetarian and she said SURE! You can get any of those things with tofu, which isn't on the menu. So just say Tofu friends, and you will be rewarded. I got the curry vegetable bowl with tofu. I'm eating it now and after putting a little soy and that red hot stuff in it I have to say, its darn good. The place was clean, including the potty, and the kitchen looked like it was tidy. While I was waiting for my order a woman came in to grab her phoned in order - duh! That's what I should have done. Next time.

Being from LA, I am extremely spoiled when it comes to top notch Asian food. Asian Pear offers tremendous value and pleasant service from a wonderful and pleasant owner. I ordered the combo plate with chicken and bbq pork. Delicious! Flavors were a welcome relief after craving some Korean bbq. I also recommend the Korean pancake. Great and worthwhile appetizer for those with a bigger appetite. Good local spot for those in the downtown Albuquerque area.

So delicious! I have been here three times, each time for lunch, and have been given exceptional service and amazing, authentic Korean food. The staff even gave complimentary kimchee and vegetable pancake that make me wake with cravings for more!! I wish they did a dinner service on days besides Friday's, but otherwise they are amazing and a happy addition to Downtown Albuquerque.

Incredibly friendly staff, tasty food, and quick service! Everything I want in a restaurant!!! The owner even brought us complementary vegetable pancakes to try! Super good and so sweet of her!! Definitely a must try!!

Awesome! So..........local Yelper here needed a late lunch and drove on Central Downtown pondering (once again) "where shall I stop?". LUCKY ME, Asian Pear was open on a rare Saturday due to Summer Fest. I had been wanting to eat here but can't because I work Uptown (which needs more local restaurants btw but that's another rant later). So I parked one block away. YES, you can do this on Central Downtown sometimes. I had their delicious chicken bowl which is NOTHING like those Chicken Terikyaki places dotting the landscape with mundane piles of fatty chicken on mounds of rice. This was all freshly prepared to order. I was so happy that I got to try Asian Pear. Give it a try and continue to support local restaurants and those Downtown that could use a few more table turns.

What a gem. Would give if 5 stars but I go to K town in Manhattan so I'm a little too picky

All the reviews were spot on! Coming from San diego...I was missing some good Korean food, and found it here at the Asian pear. The cashier was so nice and helpful! My super french mother and grandmother were with us and she explained everything to them. We got three bimbibaps and one spicy pork with the glass noodles. Everything was so delicious! The service was excellent! While we waited for our main entrees, the same cashier brought us free jeon and Kim chi while waiting! And when I ran out of noodles with my pork, she brought out an extra portion without charging! To top it off, she also brought us fresh cut watermelon after we finished our meals. Definitely recommend this place! Great food, great service, really makes you feel welcome and the cashier never lost her smile! 5 stars

Omo!!!! Thanks to Facebook I found this lovely place in Downtown ABQ! Happy to say there is finally a real authentic Korean restaurant in the 505!!! Unlike the other "Korean" restaurants in Nob Hill. This place is the real deal with great prices. The owners of the place are very friendly people and it helps to know Korean to communicate with them. The lady knew it was my first time in their restaurant because I got little too excited when I heard Big Bang playing a Korean pop boy band! Felt like I was back in Koreatown in LA! Haha Food is die for with spicy kimchi, bibimbap, bulgogi, and you can modify with the choices of meat and tofu for a healthier alternative. Overall amazing and will be coming back to try more selections and enjoy. I recommend to buy soju at Talin Market since spicy + soju is heaven! Huge plus in anyone's book.

Fast fresh food with great flavors. Excellent presentation on the plate. Clean bright inside. Very friendly service. A great lunch spot in downtown ABQ.

Stopped by mid afternoon upon arriving in ABQ from Dallas after getting spoiled by my Korean girlfriends home cooking. My friend was under the weather and needed some good + spicy food to cure his sickness. Ordered the Spicy Korean Ramen and the Bulgogi Bento to-go. After sitting down to wait for our food, we were greeted with a Korean veggie pancake to try on the house. Delicious! To boot, we also we sent home with a sample of the house made kimchi. The staff is friendly and will take the time to explain all the facets of Korean food if you are a newbie. Ripped open the boxes when we arrived home and everything was fresh and delectable. I can see why this establishment has 5 stats. Must try!

Wonderful option in downtown. Fusion of Japanese & Korean food (rice bowls, bento, etc.) that the very friendly staff serves after ordering at the counter. Food is very tasty. This is a very popular spot with downtown workers at lunch.

Tried this place by spontaneously spotting it on yelp, and it was a great experience! We had a warm welcome from the very start, great and quick service, and even better that our food came out quickly! We even received a free veggie pancake while sitting down and waiting for our to-go order. Food was great overall! Very delicious, I ordered the combo plate with chicken and spicy pork.. On point! I would definitely recommend.

Just went in to grab lunch, which I took to go. The food was delicious and plentiful, the service friendly. The prices were great. I had the BBQ beef bowl. If I lived in Albuquerque, I would likely be here frequently. If you've never had Korean, this is a gentle introduction, while those of us who have had it more often will not be disappointed.

What a treat ! My dear Korean sister took me there. We ordered BBQ Chicken plate & Comb bowl, it was delicious!!! Food are so fresh and very tasty. Korean pancake is yummy. Restaurant is very friendly and has great servies. I can't wait to try other dishes. I'd love to come back with my family sometime soon. My husband will love all this yummy food.

A solid, new, casual dining option for downtown (in a space that has seen restaurants come and go). I had the mostly-vegetarian bi bim bop, with rice, veggies, spicy chile paste and an egg on top. The chef also asked if I wanted to try Korean glass noodles, made from sweet potato starch. They were excellent and can be subbed for rice at any time. Here is wishing this family-run business success and, hopefully, dinner hours! They currently close at 4pm. Plus, great value for the price.

Excellent flavor. Server well informed on dishes and offered great recommendations. Must try the veggie pancakes!

This place delicious!!!! Awesome food, great service from a super friendly staff!! We'll definitely be back.

Fresh tasting and fast service. Staff was friendly and brought us extra pancakes while waiting for our food. Kimchi was delicious and the perfect amount of heat. If you are vegetarian, they can substitute tofu but don't really advertise it. Highly recommend for a quick bite for lunch

Just found this little gem today. Delicious food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They have ramen and tonkatsu with curry, my two favorites. Plus the price is just right, nothing over $10.

Fresh delicious food at a great price. The owners are very friendly. I had the BBQ chicken bowl. I would get it again.

I have eaten at a lot of Korean restaurants and I would put this place in my top 2. Prices are right! But more importantly the quality is very good for the pricing. Owner is a super sweetheart. Very friendly environment.

I was browsing around on yelp for some restaurants to try out and this one stuck out since it had 5 stars AND it was just one dollar sign. I'm thinking to myself, how can this be? That's when I clicked on the link and started perusing through the reviews. After reading all the reviews, I knew I had to try it out. I took some time out and went with a friend and my little brother today and we were definitely not disappointed. Just to keep several things in mind as you read this review. I've gone to school in California so I've had a lot of opportunities to try out different Asian food. Because of that, I do have some sort of standard when it comes to Asian food. It's very, VERY hard to find decent Asian food in Albuquerque but this restaurant was able to meet my standards. It's a pretty decent sized space as soon as you walk in. It's not decorative but simple, which I like a lot. As soon as you step in, you're immediately greeted by the owner. When we were glancing at the menu, she made sure we knew what everything on the menu was. If we had any questions, she was eager to answer them, which came off to me as good customer service. When we had finished ordering and took our seats, she quickly came out with a plate of Kim Chi pancake, which was absolutely bomb. It was savory, light, and a little spicy. I assume that right now, it's just for promotion since they had just opened the restaurant 7 months ago. However, if you are lucky and you get a chance to try it, I recommend that you do. As for me, I ordered the bulgogi plate which came out to be absolutely tasty! The rice was good (and pretty cool since it was shaped in a triangle) and the meat itself was a good amount as well. I also had kim chi on the side and it was definitely one of the best kim chi I've ever had. After I had finished my plate, I couldn't help but smile and feel extremely satisfied. When I asked my friend and my little brother, they too smiled in agreement of how good the food was. For the price you are getting, it's a good amount and I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants good Asian food! Overall: 4.7 Food: 5 Service: 5 Location: 4

Very happy I checked this place out. I can't speak to it's authenticity at all, but I can say that a server came by with all of these little snacks which was sooooo fun! I will definitely be back for those vegetable pancakes that everyone keeps mentioning. They are seriously delicious. The only thing I wasn't too crazy about was the place itself. Something about that location is just grimy and also it was pretty hot in there that day, but maybe it's not like that everyday. The lunch portion was also sort of small, I might not have been satisfied without the fun little samples. (I had the bi bim bop [such a fun name!]) But at the end of the experience I left very satisfecha.

This food is absolutely terrific, and amazing for the price. Prepare to get full for under $8! My husband said that this restaurant is incredibly friendly, probably the friendliest restaurant he's ever been in and I have to agree. In a sentence: "Hard to tell which I liked more, the staff or the food!" Just come and enjoy!!!

The flavors are all there and even better than when this place was teryaki kitchen (even though the chefs are the same, new owners changed the menu). My gripe is that this place is not Korean enough. Seriously no kimchi, no pickled veggies, no egg! It is basically carbs and meat with none of the traditional accoutrements that I seek out Korean for. They garnish with shredded lettuce and a cherry tomato...bizzare. Totally missing the fermented veggies that add necessary crunch and umami to a Korean meal.

The best Korean food I've had in a while. I strongly recommend this to anyone. I have spent a few years in Korea and think this is very good.

Wow this place is amazing! Owners are super friendly great customer service...food is fresh and delicious! Owner brought us a sample of a new item from the menu....veggie pancakes, YUMMY! We will definitely be back!

Ehhhh. It's alright. You get a good quantity of food but the quality isn't there. I suggest you look for something else.

Amazing fast fresh food. So happy I found this place, there prices are great and the food is the perfect Korean BBQ fix.
(5)Lance A.
This is one of my new favorite spots. I figured I would have to give up Korean food moving here from the Bay Area, but this place is just as good as Korean restaurants I frequent around San Francisco. I recommend the bibimbap with brown rice. Friendly and caring service bringing out your food, but you order at the counter, and prices are low, making this an ideal place for a quick very high-quality and healthy lunch if you have a short lunch break.
