DELICIOUS!!!! Tonight was our first time to try this place and wow did it turn out to be an excellent meal. Service was great, food came out fast and everything was super fresh. We ordered two bowls of soup- Tom Kha chicken & Tom Kha Shrimp....we could hardly eat the rest of our food because the soup was so yummy. It was a coconut based broth with onion, red pepper, cap mushrooms and either chicken (me) or shrimp (hubby). We had a Crunch roll for a starter as well, very good. And our actual dishes that we ended up taking home were Pad Thai & Pineapple Thai fried rice with beef. We will be back!!

Saturday night had phad thai d rice pork fried rice and tempura shrimp. The shrimp was not tempura it was breaded and deep fried. The fried rice had little taste to it. The phad Thai was some of the most tasteless noodles I have ever had. The hostess reply was, "have you ever been to Thailand? Well thats how they cook it there!" I wonder if she has ever even been out of Alamogordo? And I am not ever going to Thailand if the food is that bad.

I had the Pad Something because I didn't get the Pad Thai I ordered. It was delicious and the chef sent out the Pad Thai so I could take it home. California Roll was well made and tasted good. The only downside was the salad had too much dressing on it.

The food was amazing. Had the padthai (don't know if it is spelled correctly) and it was absolutely delicious

food are great! it feels like i'm in Thailand since the food are authentic. we ordered the Panang curry which is very spicy but so delicious the flavor is there I also suggest that you get the thai iced tea with it. pad thai is the best in town. service was great too our waitresses name was marie so compliment to her.

Staff was friendly and we got our food fast. The food was great. I ordered the hibachi shrimp. The mizo soup and salad were great and tasty. I was honestly here for the sushi but the sushi bar was closed. Im not going to give it a bad review just for that because they have ben open for less than a month and i understand that they are going through changes and all that. I am definitely coming back in February to try the sushi to give it a full review.

Great food, sushi was awesome quick service. Large group of 10, everyone left happy. Kids had hibachi steak and chicken, I had shrimp and scallops. Britney was a great server.

Excellent atmosphere. The food was AMAZING. Shared the salmon crunchy roll and the Chicken pad Thai. This place is definitely the place to go for great fresh sushi and awesome pad Thai anywhere around here. Highly recommended!

I bring the family here 2-3 a month. The quality has been consistently good. I've had sushi, beef fried rice, pad Thai with shrimp, salmon, steak. I give a 5 star for a good Asian restaurant in a small town. It is best quality Asian food in Alamogordo.

Tried this place because of the high ratings. I don't understand how this place has even 4 stars. Sushi is bland and boring. Taste like grocery store quality. I can't speak for any other of the other menu items we only tried the sushi.

Excellent food for Alamogordo standards. Habachi filet mignon is great and cooked perfectly each time I have had it. Sushi rolls are also fresh, unique, and presented beautifully. My husband and I love getting this food for pick-up. Average time for pick-up after calling it in is 20 minutes and they were on time each time we ordered. The restaurant decor could use some more TLC to make it more cozy and inviting but the food is excellent regardless. Hope this place stays open!

Cannot go wrong with any of their Sushi! Try the Monkey Ball, give it a min to cool down, then tear it up! Finally...GREAT Asian food in Alamo!

I was really looking forward to Asian Garden opening, and finally tonight we got a chance to eat there. The interior is pretty much the same as when it was Tia Lupe's/Miss Lilly's with a paint job and a change of decor, the big difference was the installation of booths along the west wall. I was a little put off by there being at least three different styles of tables: when we sat at ours I thought it was a little high, then I started banging my knee in to something and discovered that the height of our table was adjustable and I was hitting the handle. It was a little strange. So decor: very good. Bathrooms looked largely the same. They've removed the stuff that was between the two staff doors in the main dining room and installed a sushi bar so you can sit and watch your food being made. Staff: well, I'll cut them some slack for the restaurant being open only a week. One problem with steamed food, especially in the winter, is you need to be ready to pounce on it and grab it when the kitchen puts it in the window. Steamed food cools quickly. We started with edamame and gyozo, and both were cooler than they should have been. Myself I think the gyozo could have been crisper, my wife thinks I'm thinking about Chinese pan-seared potstickers rather than a more traditional Japanese dumpling. Nevertheless, I think they were pan-seared then steamed, whereas the proper order should have been steam then pan-sear. Still, both were good. On to sushi and other food. My wife originally ordered the Thai Lard salad, only to find out that they couldn't make it, likewise Thai iced tea was unavailable. This could be running out of supplies over a holiday weekend, or it could be start-up issues. The cashier said that he was having to buy a lot of supplies in Las Cruces and bring them across the basin because he was having problems getting them here, this availability issue could be part of that. So my wife ended up with peppered beef and steamed rice. She thought it was decent enough, but not enough to blow her away. She wasn't impressed by the sauce, saying she thought it was out of a can. I tasted the sauce by itself and was also not terribly impressed, I'm not sure what was missing but it needed something. I went with sushi. Philadelphia Roll, Tamago, and Salmon Nigiri. The tamago was not labeled as such: on the menu it's listed as an egg omelet. This is not uncommon, still, I had the waitress confirm it was what I was wanting. Likewise the nigiri sushis were not labeled as nigiri, just as sushi, again I had to confirm that they were the two-piece fish on a rice puck style. The final issue interpreting the menu was that the salmon nigiri was listed twice, both times as salmon sushi. I suspect that one of them was smoked salmon, but the waitress said they were the same. It's possible that the waitress doesn't understand the difference. On to taste. The tamago was perfect. Just the right amount of sweetness, but not a lot of people like tamago, and that's OK. The salmon nigiri was adequate, the same problem existed with the Philly roll: it struck me that the rice was underseasoned. It's also possible that my taste buds are a little out of whack right now as I'm recovering from a cold. I know that nigiri sushi is supposed to have a light smear of wasabi paste on the underside of the fish, I'm not sure it was there. Price: two people, two iced teas, one entre, one sushi roll, two sushi nigiri: less than $40 before tip. I think that's perfectly reasonable. Overall impression: quite favorable. I enjoyed the sushi much more than that produced by Mizo Sushi down next to Applebee's. The ambiance was pleasant, and they seemed busy, which is good. We will be returning to further explore the menu. And one final, very good, point: they're open later than most restaurants in Alamogordo. They're open 7 days a week until 9:00 Monday through Thursday, 9:30 Fri-Sun. they might become our go-to place when it's after 8:00 and other places start folding like wet rags.

Love this place, sushi is awesome and Thai noodles have just the right flavor & spice.

I can't really add to the other reviews... we have been there twice in the last two weeks if that says anything! Our friends wanted to try it yesterday so we didn't object. Everyone enjoyed their meal, the food quality is above average for Alamogordo. So between here and the Rocket our Asian food cravings are fulfilled!

I'm so pleased that this place opened! The menu is expansive and includes a wide variety of Asian dishes (though heavy on Thai and sushi). We started with sushi (the Happy Mango roll) and finished with Thai entrees (two different curries), and everything that we tried was delicious, pleasantly spicy, and very fresh. Service was friendly though a little scattered, but as the restaurant has been open less than a week, I'm sure they'll work out the kinks. This is already my new favorite Alamogordo restaurant!

Asian Garden is a clean restaurant with great staff and delicious food. All of the sushi was really fresh (salmon and tuna). My wife had the hibachi steak and enjoyed it. I had the Pad Thai with a little spice added and it was perfect. I would go back anytime!

Went with a couple friends to have dinner. As soon as we entered the door, the hostess/lead waitress/bus girl/manager is running around with her head cut off making everyone feel uncomfortable by asking how everyone is doing 500 billion times, but you would think that she would remember that we have been waiting for our 2 waters and 2 sodas for the past 30 mins in her billion rounds. After that I ordered 2 sushi rolls, one of which had shrimp in it. It would have been nice to know before I ordered, that the restaurant was out of shrimp, which I waited til one of my orders of sushi to come when the waiter finally speaks up and says they are out of shrimp. Lonnnggg waits, Lack of leadership, zero organization, and zero confidence. The food was really good though.

Loved the food, it taste really good my husband and I had spring rolls as a starter, chicken Thai fried rice, pad Thai noodles, and a side of hibachi chicken as our mains. I enjoyed the food and the service, the staff was very friendly and we even got a 10% discount which is offered on tues and thurs I believe. The food was very inexpensive as well, definitely on my list to revisit!

This place has no service, they can't turn tables to save their life with no bus boys cleaning tables with the staff going out for smoke breaks while people are waiting. We were a party 4 with a party of 2 in front of us. They sat the 2 at a 4 top leaving only a 2 top left for us. There were other 4 tops empty but no one was busing them.

Came to "Alamo" on a quick weekend business trip and had to extrapolate as much data from limited Yelp reviews as possible. I'm not a big city guy when compared to NYC or LA, but being in Alamogordo was a tough experience with not many choices of anything. Long story short, probably as good as it could be in a town like Alamo but would be substandard (1-2) in a medium to large city market. With the limited choices I'd eat there again when in town but that's not saying too much.

Everyone raves about this place, but the sushi tastes like something out of a frozen dinner. The miso soup was far too salty. Other than the food being mediocre, the staff was friendly and fast.

High marks really enjoyed this new restaurant had hibachi steak and spicy tuna rolls could have done without the sticky rice dessert looking forward to many more trips.

Pretty shocked this place has so many great reviews. We first went to the restaurant a few weeks ago, and cut them a lot of slack since they had just opened. We revisited this past weekend hoping for a better experience however it was quite the opposite. We were seated shortly after walking in, the waitress handed us some menus and told us it may take a while since they were really busy so don't get mad. There was only about 6 other tables seated most of which had there food already. The staff is awful, our waitress didn't even know what was in the vegetable fried rice then informed us she likes people but hates working there, and has only been there 3 days. A friend in our party asked if they sold alcohol she said no and if there was any she would of drank it by now. She almost dropped fried rice in my lap, and kept leaning on the table, reaching over my plate and touching our food. There were 5 people in our party, and everyone's food came out at different times. They were running out of everything and had to replace most components of my husbands sushi roll. Listening around to the other tables, one table didn't receive their sushi, another received the wrong one and another table walked out. Yes the food is great, but the service ruined our experience and we won't be returning.
