Amato Bread is one of my favorite places anywhere ever. I don't live in the area -- actually a couple hundred miles away. But I pass through on the way to other parts east and several years ago stumbled across Amato. Since then I stop every time I possibly can. Favorites: - any of the sausage/cheese breads. Oh my. - the black and white cookies. My favorite anywhere -- rich buttery cookie base with rich and intense vanilla and chocolate icing halves. - lemon cookies -- fresh and refreshing with yummy hard icing. - the subs -- we always get the same two, Mr. Betz (cold cuts) and Grant Me a Wish (thin slices of fried eggplant layered with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar). Excellent sub rolls, fresh and chewy. The eggplant sub is, and I don't say this lightly, among my most favorite sandwiches anywhere. If I had to find one fault, and it is a minor one, the drink selection (especially diet) is a little slim. But I don't care -- stop here as many times a year as we can. Great family run place, deserves more Yelps!

I really like this place. The sandwiches and Italian cookies are delicious (my favorite sandwich is the Roofer's Special). The business is family-run, so there is a "homey" feel. They treat you nicely, and eveything is very fresh. I've heard customers conversing in Italian, which must mean it's authentic!

I have only recently been introduced to Amato Bread and so far so good. Staff were patient while I looked over the sandwich menu and did not charge extra when I added to the sandwiches! Both were fresh, delicious and worth the trip. My second and third visits were equally worth it! Check this place out
