Dismal and bleak is the culinary landscape that is New Providence,NJ so to find a restaurant, WAIT A MINUTE, make that a culinary gem within miles from where I live is absolute rapture! I'd been hearing folks recommend Coppolas recently and it was landing on deaf ears due mostly to my own personal palate fatigue from trying so many red sauce Italian places with attached pizzerias in the area. Truly, the old adage of winners never quit and quitters never win is the lesson of the day, kids. Can you tell that I'm more than a little excited about Coppola's Ristorante? I visited this evening with my pal Jay who also had been told by some that it's their favorite place for Italian food. We chose the more formal side and were greeted by a very sweet and kind Rose, who I later found out is a Coppola herself. She asked if we had a reservation and we did not, rose made it a non issue and sat us right away. Now it is the middle of August and I'm sure when everyone and their mother comes back from vacation, waiting for a table just may be a necessary activity as this place is very popular with the local crowd. I usually order Linguine in White Clam sauce as my go to test dish when I try a new to me Italian restaurant but I've learned to ask if the clams are little necks or Manila clams. I was able to immediately ask my menu questions because Rose was attentive to us as any server has ever been. They offer the smaller Manila type clams so I opted for a different dish. A basket of housemade focaccia and water for our glasses seemed to land at my table before I even unfolded my napkin. A complimentary bruschetta rounded out our first impression of what will become a frequently visited favorite local restaurant for me. Jay and I shared the Fried Calamari that was beautifully cooked and had a light coating which made it perfect for a warm summer night. A delightfully light marinara sauce and a few lemon wedges accompanied the dish. My second go to test dish is Cabonara because it's few ingredients can be very telling about the talent or lack thereof in the kitchen. Please don't put salty bacon in my Cabonara. The chefs at Coppola's delivered a stunning rendition of this classic dish. Tender and delicate Pancetta, Sweet and crisp tender onions, an appropriate amount of creamy egg yolk and grated cheese; enough to detect yet not so much that it overpowered the dish, served over a thin spaghetti not over cooked yet I usually ask for very al dente and I failed to do so- my bad. I would have liked to be offered some fresh ground pepper, but again, that's my personal taste and if I wanted it, I should have asked for it. Jay had the Parpadelle with Sausage and it was fantastic as well. The flavor of the sausage was very good and I could tell it was of high quality. After dinner we made a point of making our exit through the pizzeria side so we could catch a glimpse of their Pizza offerings and we both agreed that it looked tasty with its thin crust and variety of toppings. We will definatley be sampling their pizza very soon. You must know that I have absolutely no connection to the Coppola family or their restaurant beyond being a pleasantly surprised and gratefully satisfied new customer. I am however a trained chef, no longer in the food business and I appreciate their respectful handling of the ingredients and the spot on execution of the cuisine of Italy that this restaurant represents.

The veggie pizza I had was crunchy and tasty, but a little greasy. I thought the eggplant pizza would be good but it just wasn't my taste. Maybe it was the marinara sauce on the pizza. When I was waiting in line, the man taking orders behind the counter took people in front of me. I never heard him say he was helping me (I do truly believe he asked me). But instead of, "Sorry about that, what can I get for you?" he just reiterated 3 times that he asked me if I was being helped... in a kind of defensive way and as if he were trying to convince me. It was a dinner pop on a Thursday evening, so I get it. But I don't need convincing in a defensive manner that you tried to help me and I just didn't hear you.

Coppola has the best tasting and widest selection of pizza that I've ever encountered. The rest of the menu is also clearly all made from scratch, using nothing but the freshest ingredients. I highly recommend the cheesesteaks, the pasta dishes, the seafood, and the Nona pizza. I've never had anything I didn't like. Try out their weekly specials too! The service is quick and effective. They try their best to provide a positive experience to all customers. I cannot recommend this establishment enough..go see for yourself!

I work in new providence so we order lunch pretty often. I just love their chicken cheesesteak. I get the bread toasted, I add lettuce, tomatoes and garlic.

I've been slowly trying some of the local restaurants and I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza here. It was very crowded on a Friday evening (always a good sign) and I snagged two slices to take home. The slices were very big and very, very filling. The sauce was flavored nicely and the cheese and toppings (I got one plain and one buffalo chicken) were really tasty as well. I'll definitely stop by here again!

Sorry but I keep giving Coppola second third and fourth chances but I have to bite the bullet and move on; for almost a year now quality and service keep going down; here's a picture of their well done pie

My sisters, my brother in-law and I took my mom out to dinner here for her birthday. There's a lot of choices of foods you can pick from. Our waitress seemed really friendly. I ordered pasta e fagoli and a brie salad (the brie is melted, which I didn't like). It's BYO. One side is a pizzeria and the other is a restaurant.

I have had a number of family parties In thier restaurant, all of them were excellent. Food was delicious and plenty of it, the service was excellent. I have eaten in the restaurant for a small meal and in their casual pizza parlour. The food is always great, the place is always clean and the service excellent. I have been going there for 22 years. Once again I had them cater a party at my home and once again the food and the service was excellent with generous portions. The amazing thing was this time I made a huge mistake and ordered the food for a Saturday instead of the Sunday. They called Saturday to ask why I had not picked up the food and I realized in horror the mistake I made., I told the how sorry I was and I would come get the food and it was 100% my fault, they proceeded to tell me that it was no problem, they would hold the food for me till the next day and replace the soggy bread of the 3 ft sub for no charge, I did say I wanted to pay for the bread. They did not charge me, the food came hot and delicious the next day for the party with trays and stereos. Where can you find food this delicious, reasonable prices and service as if I was family? It still exists at Coppola. Coppola thank you for saving my sons graduation party! Thank you for so many years of good food, great memories of family parties in Your establishment, and some of the best pizza around. We are Italian and very good cooks and your food gets rave reviews at all of our events. Thank you again! Please don't review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you're connected in any way to the owner or employees.

The gluten free pizza is a joke. I came here on a Friday night after Chimney Rock had a ridiculous line and this place was listed as a gluten free friendly spot. Nope. The gluten free pizza is 6inches and $12! This is not a Place you can eat unless you want an expensive snack before you go home and eat something. I was really hungry and had to watch my daughter and my husband eat while I sat starving and seething. So disappointed.

Thanks to Yelp, we became aware of this gem one town over from us in New Providence. We love Marcellos and Clementes here in Berkeley Heights but sometimes you need to try something new. We're very glad we did. We took advantage of the online ordering system. Upon our arrival, everything was waiting for us. I believe the owner rang us up. Very friendly. Made us happy. So, the food. We all split some fried calamari. Delicious and not rubbery at all. My son really enjoyed his pizza. I ordered Shrimp fra diavolo over linguine. Really spicy. Really good. My wife had another pasta dish which she enjoyed immensely. Instead of so so bread, Coppolas included what appeared to be toasted foccacia with our order. Nice touch. A winner with our family. We'll be back soon.

Just paid $12.50 for veal. Got three very small pieces of veal the size of three fingers, 5 green beans and 6 slices of cooked carrots. The Stromboli was ice cold like from the fridge. I had to heat it all up. I'm very disappointed.

I love most of the things here: the plain pizza, the pepperoni pizza, the garlic bread, the garlic knots, the pasta dishes like the shrimp diavolo. I also like a lot of their original slices like one with tons of peppers. I will give five still because they have so much good stuff, but for some things like their barbecue chicken pizza, while it is still good, I think it would be better if they didn't put it on such a thick bread.

Love the new dining room! It's beautiful, and even more important, it's truly wheelchair accessible! There were 4 of us. We each ordered a salad, 2 Caesars, 1 Brie and 1 with pine nuts and goat cheese. They were delicious but so large that you could have them them as your main course. Maybe we could share one between 2 people but more than likely we would not order them again because they are too big. We had 2 orders of the salmon special and 2 orders of gnocchi. They were DELICIOUS!! The salmon eaters finished every bite. The gnocchi eaters both had enough to take home for another meal for two! The entrees were delicious and overly generous pasta portions will not go to waste. There were simple things that could be easily corrected, that knock this review from 5 to 4 stars. At a table set for 4, only one had a napkin. 3 out of 4 had knives. There was no salt, pepper or oil on our table, we had to pilfer from an empty table. We asked for lemon for salmon and cheese for the gnocchi but they never came. The place was only half full, so I can't claim that they were too busy to honor our requests. We will definitely go back. Food was tasty and service was pretty good. Hopeful that things will continue to improve. Thanks so much for being wheelchair accessible - that's a HUGE plus!

I pass by 4 pizzerias on my way to coppola, without a doubt the best pizza, Italian food, and restaurant in the area. Never had a problem with the staff or my order, very efficient, busy but never overwhelmingly.

Solid menu. Good food. Pizza, salad and pasta all good. Reason to go: Excellent cheese steak sub. You might forget you are in North Jersey. As close as you can get to a Philly/So Jersey cheese steak! They use provolone and not cheese sauce. There are 2 dining options: restaurant with white linen dining or the pizza place with causal seating and take out which is SUPER busy on Friday and Sat nights with folks lined up to pick up dinner.

The pizza here is terrible. My company orders from here all the time because they're right across the street and I guess they deliver large orders. I thought maybe bc we order so many pies at a time that they're sitting on top of the oven for a while getting soggy (I know all about this, I worked at a pizzeria in high school). But I got individual slices once on lunch break. Nope, still bad pizza. Edible, but I will never eat this if I have to pay for it. Do yourself a favor and go get some real pizza at Bacci on the other end of town. Also, lunch time is a clusterf*ck in there. They need to figure out a better system than the endless line to the cash register with everyone pointing at the slices and reaching over each other to get at the counter.

The four star is just for Grandma pizza The price is affordable. The grandma pizza's cheese really made the pizza astounding. It is a good place for low-key dining, bustling with people.

Love, love, love the food here! I drive 45 minutes just for a slice of their pizza... It's that good. Service is quick and friendly, and the prices are economical for the portions you get. My favorite place to go!

After trying just about every pizza place in the Berkeley Heights area, Coppola takes the cake (or pie in this case). The pizza is excellent and the variety of special slices is expansive. It gets CRAZY in there for takeout on a Friday. First timers should know that 2 lines form - the one on the right for new orders and slices, and the one on the left for picking up. Haven't had sit down meal there yet, but certainly will sometime soon. Only thing that would make this place better is if they offered delivery.

This is one of my favorite pizza places in the area (and there are a ton to choose from). There is a pizzeria side and a restaurant side. Currently (4/4/14) the restaurant side is closed for renovation. I am rating the pizzeria because thats where I always go. The pies are all great. Some of my favorites are the salad pizza, the spinach pie, and the vegetarian pie. Salad pizza has arugula with onions tomatoes mozzarella parmesan and a light olive oil dressing that is amazing. Besides the pizza, the roasted vegetable sandwich is TO DIE FORR. I know from this review it seems like I love veggies, but I really don't. They have just managed to make it all taste so delicious! Make sure to get it heated and dip it in a side of their balsamic dressing. I guarantee you'll love it. All the other sandwiches and salads I've had here are great. This place really is one of the treasures of the area.

Their Grandmas Pizza is the best pizza I've ever eating in my entire life. 5 stars for the food, but 4 stars for the service. The woman at the register needs to learn some people skills.

I've always been pleased at Coppola's! The food is great, nice portions and reasonable prices. I've been there a number of times and really like their pizza--a huge selection, salads, pasta and chicken dinners, and veggie paninis. I eat a ceasar salad from Cope's almost every day for lunch. If you are looking for good food, plenty of it, and a great price, make sure you go to Coppola's. The owners and staff are friendly and service excellent!

Had dinner with the family and parents here yesterday. Waiter was "inexperienced" as it seemed it may have been his first days in the job. Food was ok, but it took 45 minutes for the food to come out (it was not busy in the dining room). I don't think we're gonna be back.

Casual atmosphere in the pizzeria side of the restaurant. Wait can be tough because of the volume of customers (volume because the food is excellent). Recently renovated, option for casual dining or fine dining on restaurant side, excellent food and salads/soups, make this a great choice for a quick and inexpensive dinner out.

I usually get pizza here, but tonight was the most horrible experience I have ever had. I call in to pick up the phone. The man on the phone had no manners or the decency to sound "nice". After I told him my order he just hung up without even telling me my number. Even if he did he was just "mumbling". I had to call back and get the number. So the food was picked up with no problem. We start eating and there were so many things that we were disappointed with. We ordered a sausage pepper and onion sandwich, and the whole sandwich was just "bread" and little sausage, pepper and onions (waste of money if there was no quantity in the sandwich) We then ordered pasta. The pasta was way too undercooked, the pasta had little to no sauce on it. However the only thing that was decent was the sauce ( it was quite delicious) We also ordered their "famous" pizza. The pizza was so burnt on the edges it was literally chewing cardboard. My mother could only eat the top because it was so hard. I picked it up 20 minutes after I placed the order. The pizza should not have been so hard like that. I love their pizza and the family who owns it is very nice. Tonight, wasn't their greatest. Big disappointment.

I called to place an order for the famous Grandma's pizza for carryout. I arrived 45 minutes later to pick up the pizza and they had not even put my pizza in the oven. The lady at the front made me feel like it was my fault or something. After 20 minutes of waiting in the crowded little area my pizza came out and it wasn't even correct. They didn't offer a discount, or anything really, aside from to give me the missing toppings on the side. I declined and left. The pizza was good but the service I experienced will hinder me from returning to Coppolla's.

Great, quality Italian food!! Everything I've had is nothing short of delicious. The Chicken Francais is awesome, and I love the Penne Alla Vodka! The Pasta and Broccoli dish is also amazing...the garlic and olive oil sauce is absolutely wonderful. I especially love when the broccoli soaks up all the sauce, it's a burst of flavor! Speaking of garlic, I'm a huge fan of the garlic bread! The Eggplant Parmesan is also a good choice for entree. My yearly family get-together every year gets catered by Coppola's...and I always get excited for it because I know the food will be incredible!

Great spot! Was visiting people nearby and looking for a philly cheese steak. Yelp helped me find this one ... and it was a good lead! I had the philly cheese special (cheese, peppers, and onions). Not the authentic cheese whiz, but awesome. Juicy and just the right size. Sampled several pizza slices (ate there with 3 friends). All were great. Some were better than others. The sausage and spinach (and some other stuff), was among the better. Great blend of flavors. The man behind the counter was also very patient and helpful, despite being super busy. Had a great sense of humor. I would definitely go back!

I prefer Bellariva's pizza. Coppola's pizza is much heavier and very oily. Not for me thanks. It's the kind that will give you heartburn, but does taste good going down. I usually get a cheese steak sub to go, with tomatoes and garlic. It is very good, and the styrofoam containers they put it keep it hot and intact. They do have some communication problems...you need to make sure you speak loud and clear...otherwise you may not get what you think you ordered.

The food is great but the layout is awkward. It doesn't matter cause they seem to do very well so there's no reason for them to change, and if you don't care about anything else other than good food then you should try this place cause they really do have have that.

I've lived in this town on and off for nearly 20 years, and this is my go-to place when I need my pizza fix. We have never been disappointed with any of the pies we've ordered. No matter how busy the place is, they always manage to take the time to put together a well-balanced pie with super fresh toppings. We've eaten on the restaurant side several times for special occasions, and haven't been disappointed there either. The service is phenomenal. The waitstaff is attentive without being oppressive, always refilling our glasses in a timely manner and checking in to make sure everything we've ordered came out to our liking. Overall, a superb eatery that really aims to please with their reasonable prices, great service, and delicious food options.

Excellent food always made fresh, very good pizza both thin and Thick crust. Very good prices to boot. Calling in an order for pickup can get screwed up from time to time and it seems to be the same woman who screws it up all the time. I still highly recommend this establishment as you cannot go wrong.

Yelp steered me wrong on this one. The amazing reviews (50+ reviews and 4-star average) persuaded my wife and I to come here for some lunch. It's in a very strange shopping center that I'd never been to before. There must have been a supermarket there at some point in time because half of the shopping center is now abandoned. I'm always on the lookout for good pizza places in the area. When we came, they were renovating the restaurant side, so only the "pizza" side was open. It's pretty standard with a number of booth tables to sit at. The pizza/register section is actually a pretty strange setup because the register is in the middle with slices pies to both the left and the right of the register. They have a ton of different slice pies to choose from - easily 20+ on the day we went. I went with a slice of the Grandma's pie that had just come out of the oven and a Buffalo Chicken slice. My wife ordered a plain slice and a chicken parm slice. Both the Buffalo Chicken and Chicken Parm slices were served as deep dish - almost like a Sicilian type of crust but triangular sliced. I hope that makes sense, but if you go, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Here's the breakdown of the slices: Grandma's Pie - easily the best slice. Good, fresh mozzarella and fresh tomatoes. I'd order this slice again without question. It was nice and fresh. Buffalo Chicken - surprisingly not very good. The crust was thick and it almost tasted slightly stale and wasn't able to get heated up completely. I would not order this slice again. Plain Slice - pretty traditional but solid. Nothing amazing but it was very good. Chicken Parm - kind of the same thing going on with the Buffalo Chicken slice. It didn't get heated up too well and the crust didn't taste incredibly fresh but this may be an issue with some of the deeper dish pies. Honestly, I was actually a little disappointed with this place. The reviews are phenomenal but the pizza left a lot to be desired. I'd actually give this place a shot for dinner to try their meals but I'm not going to be in any rush to get back for the pizza. Prices are pretty standard and everything was served quick so that's nice.

I will never order food from here again. It's not the fact that they screwed up my order that pisses me off, giving me white crust instead of whole wheat crust, its their ignorant refusal to admit their error. This terrible customer service may be the result of an inferior grasp of the english language, or perhaps inbreeding, but any business that treats its customers that way will not receive my business. As far as the food goes, their pizza is right below average. And that's being honest and maybe a little generous. The dough is overcooked, the vegetables are old and the sauce is what I'd expect from the likes of Dominoes or Little Ceasars- not what you'd expect from an 'authentic Italian' restaurant. In addition, the food is overpriced. Avoid this place.

The pizza is some of the best you'll ever eat. I typically judge a pie by their plain and Coppola's is outstanding. You can't go wrong with any of their topping pies. Give it a try...you won't be disappointed.

My daughter loves the garlic breadsticks that come with the meals from here. My favorites are of course the pizza and the eggplant parm sandwichs. Have been coming here for many years, always get a good meal. It can get busy on a Friday night but is worth the wait. When my dad and mom want a special Italian meal we have dinner here.

I'm puzzled as to why some reviewers think that this place has great pizza, as it is one of the worse that I have every tried. We ordered a plain cheese pizza, and to our amazement, only had tomato sauce near the crust, and the crust was soggy at that. The cheese did not taste good at all; the flavor was almost rancid. We ended up throwing out half of the pie. We will not be eating here again.

I ordered their grandmas pizza after hearing a lot of buzz about this place this weekend. The pizza was good but certainly not worth the rave reviews it receives. The one thing that did stand out for me was the freshness of thr tomato sauce. It really was delicious. I am interested to try their dinners and other pizzas but im not sure id orser the grandmas again. $19.00 dollars for a plain pizza is a little steep for me. When I went to pick up my pizza this place was packed at 530. I do not think the sit down restaurant is open because its under renovation but take out is open.

Best Italian in the area. I've been going there for over 20 years (when it was Villa Scotto and 1/3 the size of the current layout) - plus being BYOB means the liquor store 50 feet away is a convenient source to bring your favorite adult beverages.

I'm in town on business and came here after a late night in the office. I left depressed and looking for bicarbonate. Coppola is in a half-dead shopping center that A&P abandoned. Earlier I had tried the pizza wing of this place, which does a brisk business selling really greasy fast food. I went to the fancier dining part tonight, which was full of old people. I should have known better when I read the tattered menu. A guy was sneezing from the frigid air conditioning. The music was melodramatic opera. A sense of forboding came over me. I ordered the veal marsala. Once I got a knife, I was able to finish it. My approach was to get it over with. Afterwards I drove to CVS for Tums and antacid. Lord of Epicureans, why hast thou forsaken me?

  • Courtney O.

I'm alone in this review because this place is PACKED during lunch and I fail to see why. I've been here twice: once I got an eggplant parm sub and the other time a veggie and mozzarella panino. Neither were bad but nothing you can't get at any decent pizza place ( not counting chains). Where they fail for me is in organization and customer service. They take your order at the front register, then you pay upfront and wait till one of the cooks throws your meal on the counter. Because the restaurant is so busy and the waiting area so small it becomes claustrophobic. The cooks are barley audible when they put the food out, and some times don't even bother saying what it is. If you have take out and it's in a bag this causes an issue. If you get a slice of pizza, you are in and out fairly quickly, but if you are getting a salad or an entree be prepared to wait.

I've been here a handful of times since I first discovered it and have eaten on both the informal pizza side and the more formal dining side of the restaurant. I thought the pizza was pretty average but my experiences with the more formal side of the restaurant have all been enjoyable. The service has always been helpful and attentive and the food is good but I do suggest just from personal experience to stick to the pasta dishes. Out of everything I've had, the pastas were the best. They have creative specials and it is BYOB, which I love because I don't have the budget right now to be spending $7 on a glass of wine when I can buy a whole bottle for $10! I would definitely recommend Coppola's and will likely be back there soon.

We had New Year's Eve dinner here and chose an early seating - 7 pm - expecting better service. The waitstaff was not equipped to handle a full restaurant. We waited 10 minutes to have our wine opened and give our order. The salads came 20 minutes later - balsamic dressing was too heavy and drowned the lettuce. Ten minutes after the salads arrived, someone came out with our entrees and thought they belonged at another table. He then served us, awkwardly trying to find room on the tiny table for the salad plate and entrees. The entrees were room temperature - not serving temperature. The cannoli was stale, filling had no flavor but sugar. Not an enjoyable New Year's Eve dinner. Instead of cramming in as many customers as possible, serve only as many as you can serve elegantly.

Good spot, try the potato and fried egg pizza, it was stellar. It does not look like your normal slice of pie, but it is truly delightful. Many of the other specialty pies are concocted on top of a sicilian style slice which is not the norm for area pies, but it was a nice change and the toppings are usually heaping and very reasonably priced.

Having grown up in New Providence, I've been eating at Coppola's since I was a little kid (back then it was Villa Scotto, but same owners). The food has always been excellent and the environment enjoyable. During high school, the Coppola family hired me as a waiter for the restaurant. I was able to see the daily ins and outs of the business, how they prepared the food and how they handled customers and employees alike. This experience only increased my appreciation for how they operate. The food is excellent because it is freshly prepared and cooked for each individual order. The service is excellent because the Coppola family understands the importance of customer service and treats their customers and employees with respect. They are truly great people and their restaurant is merely a reflection of what they represent. I cannot recommend Coppola's highly enough.

Horrendous! The pizza is rubbery and tastes like three-day-old microwaved Dominos, the pasta is so mushy it's like eating oatmeal, and the sauce is like motor oil. It's pretty clear that the people running this place aren't Italian and have never so much as driven through little Italy. The employees are a bunch of jerks who act like you're inconveniencing them by having the audacity to order a slice of pizza. Let this place rot.

Great selection of specialty slices on pizzeria side. Good selection on restaraunt side (though no pizza on restaraunt menu). Family friendly, reasonable prices, BYO but done well and liquor store three storefronts down. This is our favorite place in the area for a family outing, the specials are always good. The carpaccio is like butter.

Solid 4 stars. This review is for the pizzeria side of the joint. I've never been to the restaurant. Its pretty much echoed in every review, but this place might make the best cheesesteaks on this side of... well... okay, so best cheesesteaks period. The pizza here tends to be delicious as well, great crust, wonderful sauce and cheese, and the toppings are always fresh, if not loaded on. The only downside, and the only thing that's holding this place back from a 5-star review: the pizza comes atleast partly burnt more often than not. When you get a solid, well cooked pie, this place is tops. But the inconsistency and my lack of taste for burnt dough leaves this place a star shy of a perfect review.

I went to high school in town and can say that Coppola serves the best pizza in the area. They've always boasted nice, friendly, and fast service, and make it a point to say hi to their regulars, even if you bump into them away from the restaurant (I used to frequent another pizzeria in town where, even after two years, the people would just give you a blank stare--don't act like you don't know me already, jerk). The small stuff in life counts for a lot.

Pizza is pretty good. Wouldn't go out of my way to order here, but as far as regular pizza places go (aka, anything not in the class of Grimaldi's), it's as good as any mini-mall pizza place in the tri-state area.

My other favorite from here is the balsamic chicken salad. Mr and mrs Coppola are awesome too!! Love this place :)

This is the best pizza place with in the area. There are 2 side to the place, 1 side is the pizza place and the other is a italian restaurant, but you can go to the pizza side and order anything off the menu. Plenty of seating and good place for kids.

On the advice of my brother who lives close by (and with whom we went [with his family]), we tried this joint out yesterday while visiting. Like many of the places we visit, this was in a strip mall and sorta hidden to the uninitiated; had to did Google Search to find it and called to make a reservation for seven [I couldn't find it on Yelp oddly enough. Turns out that at even 6pm we didn't need it as the place was pretty empty, but leaving at 730pm it filled out nicely. Parking is in the common lot, and the restaurant has an obvious split into the pizza and non-pizza halves (at the entryway), though casual dress appears de rigeur in both sides. I'd estimate seating for 75 on our side and probably only 1/3 of that for the pizza-istas. My brother ordered up some calamari ($6.95) for appetizers, and while it apparently it tasted OK, the portion size was a bit small as was the actual squid himself--probably thought he was safe from catchers due to his size but apparently he was mistaken. I ordered the Caprese ($6.95) [mozzerella--being a cheese dude] and it was tasty, though a bit small for the price and outside of the cheese, the peppers and the tomatoes had minimal amount of ancillary taste that should have been present with the herbs. Pooh ordered the clams (Zuppa zi Vongole, $6.95) and the carpaccio ($7.95) for appetizers, the latter of which was very good (carmelized onions and garlic cheese alone was tasty), even if there wasn't enough bread to match the spreads. I ordered the Rigatoni al Quattro Formagio (sp., four-cheese rigatoni) and it was also very good, though the use of the peppers was sparing: the dish was essentially off-white. Honestly, I wanted to try dessert, but I was too full. With 3 kids less than 8 yrs old and 4 adults we offered ample opportunity for difficulty but the server--who didn't appear to write anything down--got the orders correct the first time. Excellent service by herself, including bread and water refills. In a somewhat different change from the Chicago [home] atmosphere, this was a BYOB place and they charged no corkage fee--hard to argue about the alcohol :) Sales tax was 5 percentage points cheaper than here in Elk Grove/Schaumburg [IL] too :) The bench seats weren't that comfortable, but overall this was a good eats place with most app running $7 and entrees around the $10-15 range--not bad all told.

This is one of my regular eataries in the area. Good food in the less than $10 range. There is a Pizzaria entrance and a dinning area entrance. Same restaurant. There is also a good Chinese place two stores down.

My go to pizza place--it's excellent. The best crust, the best sauce. Never a disappointment. I've never eaten in the restaurant, but their take out is excellent!

I've tried SEVERAL different pizza places before. Most of the pizzeria places all have ok pizza, but I've always wanted to find something that makes me think DAMN, that's Awesome. Coppola's has such a vast selection of pizzas. I've been there a couple of times before and am always impressed with their specialty pies. I've tried their pizza with artichoke and capers, their terrific white pizza, this amazing spinach and sausage pizza, and simple mushroom topped pizza. The best are the pizzas with the thick crust. The crust is so flavorful and soft inside, hard, but not burnt on the outside. Not too much sauce; nice amount of cheese. Oh, it's a delight! I have not yet tried anything besides pizza, but have heard great things about the other stuff.

It's tough to find a good pizza joint in this area. This place gets really busy during lunch. Average pizza but it gets the job done (especially if you are starving). Huge selection of different slices ready to be heated up and served. Big eating area and reasonably priced. I have not had anything other than pizza so I cannot comment on their entrees. Returned here a couple of times and had their chicken salad (very good and very big, could feed 2), cheesesteak (above average but not quite Campos in Philly) and the meatball parm (below average and messy). I do recommend going here if you are in the area. Friendly staff (especially the owner).

Don't order the pizza and you're all set. The Sicilian slices are solid but a regular slice is notoriously weak. Go with either the chicken parm sandwich or cheesesteak, easily two if the most amazing versions of my favorite sandwiches. Dinners are legit here as well.

Best Pizza in town! They even offer whole wheat crust now. We love this local restaurant! Occasionally visit for pizza take out and even use it as a little date night spot and bring our own wine. Some personal favorites are the carpaccio and the gnocchi sorrentino. My boyfriend really enjoys the chicken parm and marsala. Always a great meal. Friendly service and good prices.

I was sad, but I'm back to ok with this place. Cheesesteaks are very good. Not much else is a must get, but the Coppola cheesesteak is my new damn I forgot to bring lunch what am I going to eat today meal. I am sad. The meatball parm was not up to par. Sauce from a can, too much cheese, weak meatballs. The only decent thing was the bread because they put the whole sandwich in the oven to warm it up so the bread was a little crispy. I'd only go back here if I was beyond desperate for pizza. Cue "you just lost on Price is Right" sound effect here.

2 words Cheese-Steak. Best cheesesteak...ever, in my opinion. It'd be worth 5 stars if that's where it ended, but their pizza is great, there sausage rolls are awesome, their bruscetta bread sticks are fantastic. That's all just from the "pizza parlor" side of the wall. They have a fantastic restaurant on the other side with some of the best food around. If you're thinking about going here, stop thinking, go...right now...

I can't even stand how good their grandma pizza is. And their grilled veggie panini is outstanding. Beyond that, everything else I've tried has been really quite good, on both the restaurant and pizza sides. I have never been disappointed. HUGE fan.

This place is really great, I love their pizza by the slice, the bruschetta and the cheasesteaks. Something about their pizzas by the pie though, not so much for me, but that's just me. Great place to meet up with old friends as some places give you the feeling that if you're in too long the workers want you out, not so here. Sit down as long as you like and enjoy.

After finding a random review of this place on Yelp - I decided to see if this place really was a cheese steak mecca and I was not disappointed. I just ordered the basic cheese steak with onions and found true joy. I've been to all the cheese steak joints in Philly and this was right up there if not better. I don't know where they get their bread but it had a crunch and a chew, and an amazing fresh taste without getting soggy. The steak was great without being watery and they used provolone cheese which is a decent alternative to cheese whiz. In addition - I took 2 slices of sicilian pie to go and was equally impressed. This place is completely under the NJ food radar - if these cheese steaks where on any boardwalk they would be legendary.

This is the best pizza spot in New Providence, NJ. Large selection of specialty pizza's and great Italian menu for dinner. Staff is very nice as well. I was surprised to find this gold mine coming from Pizza capital 'Brooklyn'. I work in the area and make sure to stop in at least once a week.

Coppola's is the epitome of no-frills jersey style pizza. It is consistently good and it is the kind of pizza you aren't gonna get outside the NYC region. Friday nights are packed with families and tradition and the plain (believe it or not) pizza is the best. It captures the essence of the bread sauce and cheese all cooked to perfection. Slightly greasy but oh so good. Too many pizza places these days go for fancy over the top ingredients or preparations - not Coppola's. This is the kind of pizza and pizza place people think of when they think of a New York style slice/pie in a jersey style pizza place...

Pizza is great, love the crust here. The stromboli they sometimes have is tasty too, if a little salty. I do love my sodium though... It can get pretty busy, although it's mostly people picking up orders.

I consider myself fortunate to live so close to Coppola Restaurant. This restaurant is accomodating regardless if you're in the mood for pizza or a more formal sit down dinner. This place is BYOB and the liquor store nearby makes it convenient if you forget. The food? It's all good! Pasta, chicken, fish, veal... All the dishes are winners. The staff is always cheerful and wanting to please. The prices are very reasonable. A great value for good food.

We come here regularly for our pizza/Italian food. Usually eat at the pizza side, the restaurant side is pricey. Actually like their non-pizza dishes more. Try the grilled calamari salad, chicken parm, penne vodka sauce, or cheesesteak. Gets crowded at lunchtime and Friday evenings.
