Went there for lunch on a Sunday. The overly cheery young hostess seemed very unorganized, especially when we said we didn't have reservations. We didn't think she was dressed appropriate either. She looked like a teenager going to the school fair in her pink sneakers. She didn't seem to know if there was a table available which was odd since the place was not busy at all. And who makes reservations for lunch?? She left and came back 3 times before seating us all the way in the back room by the bathrooms. I hate being seated back there as you have to squeeze your way past the four tables that are in that little walk way towards the back room (why are there even tables there??). Anyway, me and my two friends sat down and it was a good 20 minutes before anyone came over to ask if we wanted drinks. In fact, it wasn't even our waiter that asked us. It was a waitress who happened to notice we had been sitting there a long time. So 30 minutes in we actually get our drinks. And it was at least another 15 minutes before our actual waiter came over. So it took a ridiculously long time to just put our order in. Our waiter was very unenthusiastic and quiet. I ordered a wrap and my other two friends ordered burgers. Who knew it would take 35 minutes to make a sandwich and 2 burgers. After we were served, our waiter never returned until it was time for the bill. Never asked if we wanted more water, never asked if we needed anything else (I would have loved my side of mayo I asked for and never got). He completely disappeared until our plates were clean. The food was great, I admit. But the service sucked real bad. There's nothing worse than eating a wrap and not being able to wash down that chewed up tortilla with a beverage because you just can't seem to find the waiter to refill your empty glass. Truly disappointing service. P.S. Received a message from the manager stating that I should make reservations next time as it gets very crowded there and perhaps our server was trying their best to accommodate me. Accommodate...like they're doing me a favor. I messaged her back stating that there was absolutely no crowd there and even if there was it would not be an excuse for poor service. Better luck next time.

Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly service. What more can you ask for? :) I'd definitely come back. I went on a Saturday at around 11:30am and it was pretty dead, which was kind of nice. My girlfriends and I had the whole place to ourselves and we didn't feel rushed. Plus, they're on OpenTable so I get points for making a reservation there!

Our favorite Monday night place to go, all day is half price appetizers. Great food and great service. Our favorite waiter is Luke he's quick on the refills and always gets your order correct.

There's a simplicity & charm about the decor and ambiance here, it almost fools you into thinking it's a unique spot. And perhaps it is for the Pascack Valley area, but the typical menu isn't as ambitious as the environment. I think the table service is EXCELLENT here, with very polite and courteous servers working all days of the week. The dishes, while nothing out of the ordinary, are served with satisfactory flavor and reasonable portions. I'd suggest something basic, like a burger, salad, or wrap. Oh, and the MOZZ STICKS are delish! Last, but certainly not least, I strongly believe this place could top off a nice dinner out for customers with a complementary bread basket for each table.

Courteous owner (John) and events coordinator (Christine). Very organized coordinator; she responded quickly to my phone calls and emails. Had my husband's 40th birthday dinner here. They had to set up for four events that night, and my husband's party was one of them. We were in the "cathedral" room with the pretty murals. We had the prix-fixed menu, which worked out for us. The food was surprisingly good (choice of three entrees made to order), and the waitstaff knew what they were doing. Very happy customer!

I frequent the Cornerstone every time I am back visiting Jersey. Great for dinner with large groups or to grab a few drinks with old friends.

I've been to place twice. I've never eaten here. The 1st time I went with a bunch of my co-workers had an excellent time. The most recent time I went was awful. About 15 of my co workers and I had gone. The had just walked in and ordered a beer. I walked away to use the rest room. Once I came back the security/bouncer came up to me and escorted me out for no reason. A few friends who were sitting at the bar waited almost a half hour for the bartender to even notice them. Keep in mind the bar was pretty empty. A usual customer came in and was given service right away. The bartender pretended as if my co-workers weren't even sitting there. Personally I think a majority of the workers at this place were biased. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I remember when this place used to be called Bourbon Street..which was quite a while ago. I've been here once or twice since it's been the Cornerstone and I don't really think the change in name (or even ownership?) has made a big difference on the type of establishment this is. Cornerstone is a bar that caters to patrons in their early 20s that want to get sloppy and dance to top 40 music in dingy lighting. If that's what you're into it then you will love it.

Buffalo wings are good. Good for groups to dance and be silly. All 80s-90s music on Saturday. Had two floors. Good for watching sports. Drinks like $7 or bad for a night in the area.

We were visiting relatives and stopped in at the Cornerstone.Great restaurant and sports bar facility. The food selection is quite varied, the price very resonable and the portions don't leave you hungry. There are multiple levels to this facility and multiple TV's to watch your favorite sports. The staff are quite attentive and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner John who was hands on and made sure we had a good experience. The ambience is pleasurable and vibrant especially when there is entertainment planned. Needless to say you should try it if you are in the Hillsdale area and form your own opinion. I believe you won't be disappointed

Ok, so Cornerstone isn't bad depending on what you're looking for. If you're looking to stay away from a "townie" joint on a Friday or Saturday night, someplace where you'll be able to actually have a conversation without shouting, or enjoy an evening out without seeing 20 faces you know (for those who live locally), then this isn't the place for you. If you enjoy decent DJ music, with the compromise of putting up with the usual a***hole jockstraps, an assortment of floozies ranging in age from 21 shots to cougar town, the usual singles looking to mingle, and at least one or two solo creepsters that forgot that the local dive bar for the average drunkard is just down the block, then hit C-stone on a Friday or Saturday night. Service is usually pretty decent. Atmosphere is a bit dark but not unpleasant. The bartenders are pretty friendly and quick, drinks are overall pretty good. Food varies, some things are better than others. I highly recommend their Nachos Grande...so good! I do NOT recommend their Fried Calamari...it's bland and particularly greasy and flaky. Their bacon cheddar burger is quite tasty as well. Tuesday nights are trivia nights, and they're actually a fairly good time. I'd say, if you're looking for a drink or two with a few friends during the week, lunch or dinner, this isn't too bad of a place hit up. But Friday and Saturday nights are usually jam packed with all your usual stereotypes and unless you're looking to get loaded and prowl a useless crowd, then stay clear of this place on the weekends.

I arrived with my girlfriend and was promptly greeted at the door. We were seated on the second level, even though it was near the bathroom, there was plenty of privacy. We both ordered Salads, but each a different one. Our meals were served quickly and were very enjoyable. I am not sure the last time I had a grilled chicken breast that was so juicy and full of flavor. My Girlfriend said the same thing about her chicken. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and staff as well and will be eating here again.

I like The Cornerstone...the one bartender I have had there is nice and funny, if not a little inattentive. The food is pretty standard...the buffalo chicken salad (get the dressing on the side, trust me) as well as the zucchini sticks and the spinach dip are good choices. The day my sister and I went for just dinner (as opposed to sitting at the bar or going for drinks) the service was excellent. The only downfall is that I'm paranoid I'm going to see someone I hated in the 8th grade or something...but I guess that's not really the restaurant's fault. UPDATE: trivia night SUCKED (I could not hear anything the facilitator was saying and the bar was so crowded I had to wait 15 minutes just to get a beer) BUT the brunch was great so I will allow that to cancel out what a terrible time I had at trivia and leave the rating at four stars.

Bottom line: food is okay and service is mediocre. Prices are a little high and the bar gets too crowded for my taste. The first time I went, I ordered fish which was incredibly salty, to the point where it was inedible. I let 2 friends take a bite, just to make sure it wasn't just me and when I tried to send it back, they wouldn't take it because they said I shouldn't have eaten so much of it if I didn't like it and the kitchen was closed anyway. A friend ordered dessert that night, which was nothing special either. More recently when I went back, I found 2 different draft beers to be very flat and watered down. The waitress was slow and inattentive, even though she only had one or two other tables. The place was pretty empty on a week night. I'm told the burgers are good. The "seasoned" fries are kind of a joke because the only seasoning they put on is a tiny sprinkle of salt and pepper. The buffalo calamari was good as well. The food was decent this time, as were the prices, but only because we used a coupon from restaurants.com . I'd go back again, just because I have another coupon and a close friend lives nearby, but once that coupon is gone, I think that's it for the Cornerstone.

I've been coming to Cornerstone for a few years now, but I didn't know that if you come on your birthday (your actual birthday) and show your ID they give you a complementary bottle of champagne! I only found this out the other day for a friends birthday. Yes, it's not the most ideal place to celebrate your birthday, but maybe make a stop for the free bubbly! I move Cornerstone up to 3.5 stars!

I run a dining group in Bergen County and have rarely encountered such a professional, courteous and pleasant staff that attended to our every need. The Sunday brunch for 20 of us was terrific, from omelettes made to order, to french toast, to chicken and beef dishes and a dessert table offering cookies, cakes, puddings and a chocolate fountain. The food was great, plenty of it (all you can eat) and the staff was just superb. I liked this place a lot and we will be back.

This review is strictly a Saturday night - bar review. I came here last summer and had an awesome time so I decided to bring a couple of my friends out to this spot for a girl's night out on a saturday night. The only plus - no cover and $5 vodka tonics which tasted OK. Shame on you for having such a HORRIBLE DJ. He was just singing to himself in his own little world and didn't notice that not one person was dancing on the dancefloor the entire night... Instead of blending and going into the next song the music cut off several times. You would think that by the end of the night people would be up and dancing but I think everyone would have had a better time if there was no music at all. He was just that bad! Girls, if you want to go out and dance please do not waste your time here. I don't think I'll be making my way back here..... maybe just to try the Sunday brunch.

If i could give this place zero stars i would. The rudest staff ever. Everybody straight down from mgmt. They lost one of the cards we paid with...blamed it of us and basically told us to F ourselves. Got into a huge fight had to cancel the card and called the cops. When the police arrived I wassurprised to hear from the police that they are called to the place all the time...BECAUSE OF THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF! Amazing this place is still in business the way they treat customers.

I've ate at this place twice now and everything was great. The burger was good, but the bun over did it. I felt like I was working out my mouth trying to get it around it and couldn't enjoy the greasy sensation of the burger itself. The other time I came I ordered Shepard's Pie; probably one of the beat Shepard's Pies I've had. Prices are normal and the atmosphere is great.

So thoroughly annoyed and disappointed. Just brought Mom here for a Mother's Day brunch. First off, the waitress seemed really annoyed to be there. While she was polite enough, she never smiled and never said much more than "You guys ok?" We came for the buffet, which was hit and miss. The omelette was very good, made to order at an omelette bar. The fruit was good and the strawberries were huge. The French toast was good, and there was a yummy chocolate fountain. There was a large selection, however, everything else was cold. The containers the food was kept in were not doing a good job of keeping the food warm. I could deal with all of this. However, at the end of the meal, I asked if I could take home a croissant that we had not eaten. We were told "The food is not to go". While I completely understand this policy, it was a buffet after all, I felt this was a little unnecessary, as all I wanted to take was 1 croissant. I felt bad making it go to waste, but was too full to eat it in the restaurant. Kind of ridiculously strict in my opinion. And the worst thing was, when we got our bill, the waitress told us, "Just to let you know, a gratuity is automatically added to the bill." I opened it up, and it was a 20% gratuity! While I was completely intending on giving her a tip, 20% is a little extreme! It was a buffet! All she did was pour us some coffee and take away our dirty plates, all with a scowl on her face! This brunch was definitely not worth the $70 I paid. Not coming back here again.

I"ve been here on multiple occasions, both during the day for their buffet, and at night for the bar scene. To my knowledge, they have a buffet every Sunday. It's a large selection of breakfast foods. They all taste great, and are refilled often to accommodate the number of people there. Great omelets. Great bacon. Great pancakes. I could go on. Satisfying all around. The bar at night is essentially split up into two separate scenes. During the weekends, they have a DJ come in and the downstairs area becomes a dance floor. Old and young can be found down there. On the main level, (during the weekdays when you can hear each other talk) the atmosphere is welcoming. The drinks could be poured a little better, and the prices could definitely come down a dollar or two, but over all, it's a decent little place to try out.

This bar blows. Smelly, an unlikable atmosphere and with bad music -- it's not really worth going to on the weekend at all. This has to be one of my least favorite bars that I've been to. The food I've had has been OK but I was pretty drunk at the time of eating it so I can't imagine what it tastes like sober. If you make it here on an off peak night, it will probably be better as you can hear people talk and it doesn't smell so bad. Skip this if possible. EDIT: I had gotten brunch here since I wrote this review and I enjoyed that

Cheap drinks. A lot of locals. Loud music and a crowded scene. Nightclub meets frat house. Not bad if you like that kind of thing. Did not get food so I couldn't comment on it. Bouncer seemed friendly. Fun atmosphere if you're with the right crowd.

This is like the Cheers bar that you want to own, only cooler. When you walk in, it exudes a warm, welcoming vibe (and the hostess is always ridiculously adorable and friendly, which my husband of course loves : ) It has a very happy vibe about it... fire in the fireplace, drinks being poured, music playing, people laughing. The food is really, really good- not at all your typical bar food. Not even "high end" bar food. It is a GREAT restaurant, and I've tried lots of different entrees. I love a restaurant where I can order pan roasted salmon, with garlic mashed potatoes (cooked to perfection- amazing) and my husband can have a blue cheese burger... The menu is extensive and incorporates so many different foods that can appeal to many different palates (from fajitas to creamy spinach dip to real white meat chicken tenders that I steal from my kids- Mom needs to see if they're too hot, guys! chomp chomp). It is a very kid friendly restaurant without losing its sophistication. Love this place for both date night and family dinners... it's hard to find a place that's this versatile, but this is it.

I read all the reviews on this site before going, so did not order anything fancy. I went with a big group on a Tuesday for lunch. The place was nice, warm and the service was good since it wasn't busy. The food was good but not great. I order a blackened chicken wrap with sweet potatoes fries. It seemed to be average. Will try it again.

I must preface this review with the fact that I have never eaten at this restaurant. This is a review about the bar and nightlife at Cornerstone. Every Tuesday used to be Trivia night until the trivia group pulled out from the bar. Cornerstone has replaced it with a second rate trivia game and a third rate speaker system. The fact that trivia is getting people to a bar on a Tuesday means people are their to play and not be hassled by a subpar product. I must admit the $3 draft special was quite nice touch. I have found my experiences at Cornerstone on other evenings to also be nothing special. The bar is quite large with many different rooms, but it doesn't seem to know what to do with them when the night time starts. The place is over crowded while rooms remain empty. This place is nothing special and there is nothing else in the area, so I would pass on unless you need something local to go to.

Two stars is really just the honest truth from my point of view, that being the view of someone over 25. Once this was a great place to grab beers and see people, but really, once you hit 30, this is going to seem like a high school hangout. Post-college meat market for those still living at home before they move to the city. It's sad that there aren't a lot of well-patronized bars in the area with a range of patron ages, but I'd rather go someplace besides here just the same.

This place blows. Like everyone else I will agree it was better when it was bourbon street. Bartenders suck too now can't make a decent cocktail. Better off going to bottle king a nearby liquor store and drinking in nearby ambulance parking lot.

The place is huge! Nice cabin style wood restaurant with a fireplace. We were there yesterday (Friday for happy hour). They offered half price appetizers, $2 off mix drinks, $2 draft specials. We started with fried calamari which was good but after a while you can realize they are super greasy. I heard the broadway burger was a famous burger! So I read on the menu! Hahaha I ordered mine medium and when I got it! I didn't see anything famous about it! It was a plain burger with lettuce onions and tomatoes. I thought if you call it "the famous broadway burger" something about it would be special to make famous! My friend had the sliders. They were so over cooked they were not sliding any where!!! If it wasn't for the warm comfortable setting and the good service, this place wouldn't have lasted as long as it did! They do have an interesting Sunday brunch that I would love to try. Adults $20 kids under 10 are $11. Why would I wanna go back? Unlimited mimosa's!!!! Other than that I give this place a 2 stars! Even below caveman standards!!! The total bill was $45.

Just back from Easter brunch that we have had there the previous 3 years. This year it sucked. They stuffed a party of 17 into a very cramped space and the AC wasn't working. When I spoke to one of the managers he was very kind and sympathized with me and introduced me to the owner that asked me "what can I do?" When asked him for more room and cool air he told me that he can't knock down the wall and will think about what he can do. Needless to say he never came back to me with a solution or a discount on the bill. We will be having our family events somewhere else from now on.

This place is just plain terrible. They make a big show about asking for IDs but the fact is, its packed with underage kids. The last time I was there they had to nerve to charge a $5 cover. What a joke. Only go here as a last resort. Coat check is just a closet that everyone throws their coat in to. No one watching anyones things. Edit: To update. The Cornerstone as a place to hang out late nights is not for me. That still stands. However.... They do have a nice happy hour, and if you get out the door before 10pm and the DJ's, it is actually quite nice. The food is good, the beer selection is impressive and the Bartenders are really nice. They also have a very good brunch setup on Sundays, complete with all you can drink Mimosas. Probably the best value in the area. If this review was based on brunch alone it would be a 4 star review easily.

I visit the Cornerstone a few times a week, and have been for a couple of years. I live in the area, and have dined at each of the restaurants that have tried to succeed after JP Anthony's went out in the 80's. Bottom line, it;'s a good local place. Decor is unique, with extensive woodwork and brick inside. Beautiful gas fireplaces take off the chill during the winter, and the waitstaff are friendly, and skilled. I've rarely had better mini-burgers, with the Martin potato roll, sauteed onions, bacon and cheese bringing this bar staple to a new level. Chicken fingers are hand battered, big, juicy, and come with honey mustard or buffaloed. They are great!! The asian dumplings are also unique, very tasty with a touch of teriyaki drizzled over the top. We are usually happy hour people, and with the 1/2 off apps, it's a win win. I'm going there tonight. Say hi to Larry and the crew for me if your in the area - you won't be disappointed.

I love the Cornerstone! The staff is always so friendly and the appetizers are delicious. I love the quesadillas and the spinach dip. I really want to go sometime for the brunch or the BBQ. They have a great party room in the back for large groups.

I actually really like this place. I enjoyed it a bit more when it was Bourbon Street and not Cornerstone, but it's still great, I think. I have eaten here several times and I enjoy the food. I usually get appetizers...I love their hot wings. The bartenders and waiters I've had have always been very talkative and nice. When I'm too lazy to go to Hoboken I come here on a Friday or Saturday and while it's not the most ideal place to dance, I do have fun when I come here. I really have nothing negative to say about this place, except that I wish they would do more things like their trivia nights or karaoke.

This place is really really good. My friend kept on talking about visiting here for lunch or happy hour, but we never were able to try it out until today. We started off with some buffalo chicken fingers. Very yummy. Then I had a blue cheese hamburger with sweet potato fries. The burger was a little over done, but still good. The fries were amazing! The service was good, but a little slow (but then again he had four tables seated at one time). I defiantly want to come back here!

Drumroll please .... Because it's my 200th review!!! This morning I had to switch around my Easter plans last minute. I heard that this place has great sunday brunches so I decided to give them a call hoping they had extra room. They were easily able to accommodate myself, two other adults and a baby at the time I requested. Once we walked in, we were immediately seated. The inside was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. I got to take a quick look at the bar before sitting down and noticed they had a decent craft beer selection available on tap. The first thing they served us was coffee which was fresh and hot. With our brunch we were also given a choice of either a complimentary Mimosa or Bellini. The mimosa was great. I actually liked that they didn't do short pours of champagne which many places tend to do. The buffet available was very nice. Tons of choices and the food was both delicious and fresh. Their penne alla vodka was bomb! It was extremely busy on the inside. The service was alright. However, I must point out that the servers were running around doing the best they could to make sure everyone had what they needed and to fulfill orders for drink requests. At the end I felt we were kinda being rushed because the check was dropped on our table without requesting it. I know they likely had to get ready for the next brunch but i was told we can dine until 3pm and the check was dropped forty minutes before three. They also could have stepped it up with their dessert spread, but on the bright side, they had a chocolate fountain! The check included price for brunch ($25 per person) along with an 18% gratuity already added which was fine. Overall, we had a great experience. I was extremely happy they were able to take a table last minute on Easter Sunday. I could see myself going back for another brunch in the future!

Not a huge fan of this place. I have never had a good meal here. Always way to greasy. Service is ok at the tables. Service is not so great at the bar unless you get one of two bartenders that actually care more about the customer than their social media account. If you are a 20-something, though, this is where you want to be on a weekend night if you are staying local!

I've been to Cornerstone many times that I can remember... and few where I definitely blacked out halfway through the night (sorry if you were there, it was not cute). It's one of the very few bars in the Westwood/Hillsdale area that caters to a younger crowd, has good (loud) music, and is open late. I've come here for food a few times - Mondays they have ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR, with cheap drinks and half price on select apps, which is pretty awesome. The apps were all standard bar food, but came out hot and were the perfect compliment to (too) many beers. I've also gone and sat in the actual dining area and not at the bar, and the service was usually pretty decent. Nothing stellar, but good overall. Their garden veggie pizza is BIG (I brought half home for lunch the next day) and only $10 (so it's economical, right?), and has a ton of fresh veggies/mushrooms/tomatoes on it (I realize mushrooms are vegetables, but the more specific the better, right?). This is usually the last stop for the night while out with friends - if you want a seat at the actual bar, get there on the earlier side (around 9ish), because things really get going at 10/11. There are also late night drink specials, and the drinks are never weak at all... hence the blacking out. Warning - you'll probably run into someone you went to high school with and a crowd of just turned 21 year-olds, but with few options for late night and music, Cornerstone is a pretty solid bet.

I enjoy the cornerstone. Its local, i love the ambiance and decor. And the staff is friendly. The food is pretty consistent and ranges from average to above average depending on the day/night. I also wish they would have kept some of the items from the bourbon st menu but they have a good menu . The burgers and stesk sandwich are quite good and their salmon dishes are usually very good. I enjoy their mussel in white wine and garlic sauce and their french onion soup is pretty good too. Its a nice place to meet friends or have a family dinner.
(4)
Steve B.
Great atmosphere in the restaurant section. Almost like being in an outside bistro. The Mussels appetizer was amazing and served with garlic bread that was too good to not use a spoon to eat. Portions were generous and prepared quickly and well presented. Dessert menu seemed small and a bit disappointing but overall, I love this place . Helpful hint, park in the municipal lot behind it.

Great food. Great staff. Great ambiance. Had mussels in garlic wine sauce and a spicy skirt steak. Was satisfied and will return. It may be a 4.6 but there is no way to give it such a rating.

average food, average selection of beers But still the best bar in my town. mussels and wings are best choice here in my opinion

Went here for the buffet today with friends. Food was tasty and a decent variety, but not enormous. I tried a little bit of almost everything. Meats at the carving station were not hot, or even warm. The breakfast choices were much better and very good. The dessert tables were limited but they had a chocolate fountain. The waffles and French toast with hot apples compote were much better choices for dessert. Coffee was not hot (I hate it when coffee is not hot), but the mimosas were a nicely added extra. The servers were too slow for me. At times the servers took so long I thought they forgot about our drink orders. Maybe they were busy watching the football games. So, if you're not in a hurry and don't mind luke warm coffee, but enjoy a reasonably decent buffet, come to the Cornerstone.

This place is better than expected. I liked the dance floor downstairs at night, and it's fun to watch sports at the bar. The food is OK, but pretty high-calorie choices only. Overall, I like the place, but they could improve the food a bit.
(4)
Katherine R.
It's your average sports bar. The food is okay and the drinks are reasonably priced. I'm a fan of Monday happy hour all day (cheap drinks and half apps!) If you like to party, this is a great bar for the weekends. Once the dance floor opens around 11pm, the place is packed.

It's a great looking bar, awesome style and craftsmanship, and they pour a good Guinness . I'm not too sure about that food, I've only had wings, and I remember them being pretty good. I've been here on a Saturday night, it could get pretty crowded, and it's pretty full on Sundays. Worth trying out at least once

Decent place. Decent staff, decent food, decent atmosphere. My order: Penne ala Vodka with Chicken Tasted like it should, but it was nothing phenomenal. I hear the burger's are not great, so avoid them.

First time here tonight. Glad to have a nice bar/restaurant in the neighborhood. Bacon blue cheese burger and fries were yummy. Good variety of draft beers. Very sweet waitress to my toddler and baby. We'll be back!

This is the best place around the Westwood/Emerson area. Their bottomless brunch offers value that can't be beat - all you can eat buffet and bottomless mimosas/bloody marys for 24 bucks. After dark it turns into a bar/club vibe with cool music and some decent drink specials. We just keep going back.

I have gone out at Cornerstone for drinks many nights and never thought it was anything too special but I went about 6 weeks ago for brunch and had a wonderful experience. I meant to write this much sooner! Our server Matt was absolutely exceptional and made sure we had everything we needed and kept our glasses filled for the entire brunch. We never had to look for him to come back. The next time I go I will certainly ask for him again. The food left a little to be desired unfortunately. But for the price and the fact that unlimited champagne/mimosas/etc. were served made it well worth it. I will definitely be coming here for brunch again.

This review is only for their Sunday Brunch. Cornerstone's brunch is pretty solid. It's about $25 a person (including tax and tip) for their brunch buffet and unlimited mimosas. The brunch isn't as extensive as other restaurants but the food is still pretty decent. Their selections include: bacon, eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, pancake station, penne vodka, roast beef w. noodles, lemon chicken, waffles, French toast, and a carving station. The standouts to me included the roast beef (so tender and soft) and the sausage/bacon. I tried beef at the carving station and I wasn't a fan...it was the only thing that I didn't finish. Their desserts were also good, they have a mini chocolate fountain and you can dip marshmallows and strawberries. I also had their rice pudding which was surprisingly tasty. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. Only complaint was our service was okay. It took a while for someone to come over and actually serve us and once we settled in and got our food, we weren't really checked up on.

Had my baby shower here a few weeks ago. It was perfect. Food was delicious, we did a Sunday brunch in the private room. I had so many guests rave about it afterwards. The bar is open and is perfect for husbands and boyfriends to hangout at while they wait for the shower to be over. Staff was very nice and always available if we needed anything

Such a cool bar. It's really big but it has cool rooms if you want to just be with your party and several levels with a balcony so that you can appreciate the energy of the place when it's crowded. Every time I come here, people are happy and enjoying the night. Food is great. Price is right. Dare I say my favorite bar in New Jersey? I do!!! 5 stars.

The food was all great. I had calimari and a the burger of the week. Smaller menu than i expected though and there was only 1 soup under the "soups and salads" which was french onion. additionally, they put the food on such big plates trying to compensate for their servings of french fries was almost insulting. maybe it was just our luck that day. the plates do not need to be so big. Its the middle of may and on a rainy day they had the place at what seemed like -10degrees which had me offset and a little upset the first 10 minutes of being there. I was also a little pissed there were no paper towels in the bathroom. I understand its a bar and they dont want a mess but in the afternoon c'mon nobody wants to use that damn hand dryer from 1492 that is blasting down into a discusting garbage can. The waitress and staff was amazing. Came over a lot. Everyone there is really friendly and attentive which increased the experience significantly
Came here with a friend for dinner. I had steak fajitas and he had chicken franchise over spinach. Dessert was apple crumb and vanilla ice cream. Had a specialty banana rum drink .... everything was fresh, well cooked and delicious! I didnt have high expectations going in thinking that it was a typical dive bar but it exceeded my expectations. The venue is adorable. It has a warmth about it. The waitstaff was super nice too. They made us feel very comfortable... after dinner there was a one man band and he was great. He played his guitar and sang a lot of songs that I knew... mostly rock stuff.. all in all this was a great time, great food and great night! I would recommend The Cornerstone and will be back.

At a sweet half price on happy hour Monday cornerstone has the best boneless buffalo chicken wings. The quesadilla tough was tasteless. The mussels are delicious and I wish they would put it back on the half price menu Monday . Other than that like I said from everything I tasted I just gave thumbs down to the quesadilla. Their pizza is good too nice crispy and thin. The staff is friendly. The mixed drinks are expensive so go easy on those
Great local bar & restaurant, great staff great food. Nice place to watch a ball game with some buddies on a weekend.

My friends and I have gone to brunch a few times here on Sundays and LOVE IT. There's a woman server who works there, trust me you want her. She keeps your drinks (Mimosas, Champagne and Bellinis) literally bottomless the entire time down to the last second and is really nice and entertaining. Food is buffet style and really good too. For around $28 you really can't beat it.

I came here with my cousin for the first time. What a fun place aside from the couple next to us biting each others ears and practically eating more of each others faces than the food on the table. Our waiter, Sean was so great. He always kept our drinks full and we didn't feel rushed at all when we wanted to sit and chat after we finished eating. I has the filet mignon sandwich and it was AMAZING. Will definitely return for trivia on Tuesday!

**Brunch Review Only*** 3.5 stars, rounded up for the insane selection. The stand out parts of my experience at Cornerstone were the atmosphere, which was just so cool with wrought iron railings, spiral staircases, hard wood floors, fireplaces, etc., and was casual enough to be ideal for any kind of brunch, and the belinnis and mimosas, which were wonderful (and unlimited, as were soda, tea, coffee, included in the price!). The brunch selection was vast - bagels, eggs, omelet station, pastries, roast beef, chicken, potatoes, cakes, chocolate fountain, fruit, french toast, pudding, salad... Most of it was pretty good. Although the omelet guy was downright surly, he made a damn good omelet, which was huge for a buffet. We missed the pancake station - still not sure where that was. PREPARE TO GORGE YOURSELF! Quality was pretty good overall, although nothing was fabulous. The belgian waffles were rather flavorful, and warm fruit was available on the side. Although the scrambled eggs may have been fake, they were surprisingly good. Disappointments: Eggs Benedict - the muffin was hard, the egg was undercooked, and the hollandaise was ridiculously sweet. Stuffed shells - the pasta was dry. Sausage - flavorless. Cake - dry. Our server, busboys and hostess were all really good. No complaints on service. Lines moved quickly even though they were really long at times. An engagement party and several smaller parties were going on at the same time - I can see why, this would be a great place to have such an affair. The place is loud but it seemed appropriate for that type of environment. Make a reservation!!

How this hole is still open is beyond me. Oh right! It's the 20 something's they exhort money from during their "club" nights. No respectable person would ever go there for the food. At one point they actually hired a real chef and it looked as if they were trying to make a go at a real restaurant. Being the absolute worse owners (5) they got rid of the chef. The "food" is nothing more than glorified fast food. The pizza shells are made in advance from a pizzeria they own in lower Manhattan!! Do not waste your time on the brunch either. It's made up of leftover food from the prior week. The pastries and cakes are day old from Rockland Bakery. I'm sure of the &$25 per person coming in, they profit at least $20. Ask me how I know?? I KNOW.

The decor in this place is very nice. Pretty murals and accents all around. The place is fun for larger groups, but a little bit loud for two. Also, it definitely isn't below the radar, being a well-known local hangout, so if you live in the area, expect to see a familiar face. My caesar salad was very nice. It was dressed quite generously, but not too much so. The wings we great. Not the absolute best I've had taste or value wise, (I've gotten better deals on better wings before) but I did enjoy them. The skin was crispy and sauce had enough spice for my liking. The blue cheese dressing was very creamy as well. Also, my friend got a cheeseburger and the waffle fries and I tried some of each. The waffle fries are some of the best I've had. Very thick and crispy. Also the burger was very, very large. Even with my help, my friend didn't finish. Finally came dessert: chocolate lava cake. After it was talked up by the waitress extensively, we gave in and ordered it. The cake was pretty moist, but inside was not as gooy as some other chocolate lava cakes I've tried. The scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side was tasty. Dessert was good, no complaints. Service was, overall, pretty good and food came out in a pretty timely manner; however, our waitress had trouble hearing what we were saying, but you can't blame her because the place was a bit noisy. Overall I would say the food is tasty, service is timely and friendly, but if you are local and are looking for a low key place, this is not it. Locals will definitely see a familiar face. I would have to say that I did enjoy my experience at The Cornerstone and would recommend it. Also, I believe at some point later they have a DJ come and there is dancing, so for those that enjoy that kind of thing, I'd recommend coming at night.

Oh the Cornerstone or as I fondly remember you as the fantastic Bourbon Street. (If you're as old as I am, you'll even remember JP Anthony's!!!) Most of what I want to write about this place would have me thrown off of here so here goes nothing. Based on several experiences around here I have a tendency to side with frat house meets night club. Bartender's don't seem to care even when the place is empty. They don't even know how to pour a pint of Guinness....treason if you ask me. Never ordered food from there so wouldn't know. I'm actually getting kind if annoyed writing this right now...lol There's definitely better if you ask me.

When I was really young I'd get dragged here by my parents after my Mom's softball games and it was kind of a strange place to bring kids, but now that I've grown up and am in college it's a nice place to go out to dinner with some friends and catch up. I do think that some of the prices compared to the portions you are getting is a bit off, but it's never been a huge issue with me. I also wish there was a bit more options for a vegetarian, however, even if it was just a simple veggie burger, and no, not the generic black bean burger. Not just the usual salad or a simple appetizer that doesn't have meat in it. All together though it's a decent place to go to, looks great on the inside, generally nice wait staff.

This is the night life review. Every so often I go with my group of friends to Cornerstone to "have a few drinks." A typical night would consist of splitting a handle of rum with 2-3 others and catching the 11:20 train over to Hillsdale. Given the circumstances the bars are fun and the dance floor downstairs really gets "poppin" after midnight. Bartenders are extremely busy but try and get to everyone as best they can. Drinks are basic but strong (sometimes too strong for the females). Bathrooms are sketchy at times because people have such a good time that they want to taste their drinks a second time. Words of the wise-go Friday, not Saturday and go blitzed.

Mushroom onion burger was really good. Decent beer selection. The entire bottom floor was reserved for a private party so I basically just sat at the bar and watched baseball. I heard that in the past this was kind of a party/sleazy spot but I didn't get that vibe at all.

This place really annoys me, it's such a nice looking space and is a great place to drink at night, but the food is atrocious. It's amazing how even the simple bar food on their limited menu tastes bad. It's frustrating, because Cornerstone is a fun place to drink at night, especially on Tuesdays (trivia) and Fridays. There is a 7-11 right around the corner, so your best bet is picking up a slice of pizza or hot dog from 7-11 and then walk over to Cornerstone for some drinks.

(5)Jessica K.
(3)J P.

(1)Julie G.
(2)Jennifer M.
Buffalo wings are good. Good for groups to dance and be silly. All 80s-90s music on Saturday. Had two floors. Good for watching sports. Drinks like $7 or bad for a night in the area.
(4)Ronald P.
(5)Wayne S.
Terrific for what it is. We don't go often but enjoy ourselves when we do.

(4)Kristin B.
(4)Christina P.
(2)Sarah K.
(3)Peter G.
(5)Annette P.
(2)Josh M.
(1)Brian J.

(2)Dexter M.
(3)Dave M.

This place was so much better when it was that Cajun influenced place, Now it's really a just an ok place. The bar can be sticky, and the food is nothing memorable... It's huge and the decor is nice...
(2)Chas P.
Best thing I get here are the chicken wings. Decent sauce. Otherwise a decent bar to bar food
(3)Daniel F.

(3)Illanna W.
I love the Cornerstone! The staff is always so friendly and the appetizers are delicious. I love the quesadillas and the spinach dip. I really want to go sometime for the brunch or the BBQ. They have a great party room in the back for large groups.
(5)Ginger C.
(4)Crissy H.
I defiantly want to come back here!

i got food poisoning here on july 11 2010 after going here for brunch. i don't know whether it was from the homemade gravlax or white omelette but i was vomiting all day yesterday, had a high fever and the chills. i'm never eating here again, or recommending this place to anyone.

this place is the place to go on the weekends meaning thu-sat the dj is good the services is good and the crowd is great i never ate the food but it sure does smell good !!!

(4)Dan D.

(4)Steve B.
(4)Arthur H.
Great food. Great staff. Great ambiance. Had mussels in garlic wine sauce and a spicy skirt steak. Was satisfied and will return. It may be a 4.6 but there is no way to give it such a rating.
(4)Scott S.
average food, average selection of beers But still the best bar in my town. mussels and wings are best choice here in my opinion
(4)Harvey A.
(3)Ed S.
Great food and not that expensive. We had the margarita pizza, chicken parm sliders and drinks. Our total bill was less than $40. Our waiter was very attentive and recommended our food for us.
(5)Jesse M.
Their country night Thursday Nights was awesome! Great music, drinks, and dancing. So much fun!
(5)Artem A.
This place is better than expected. I liked the dance floor downstairs at night, and it's fun to watch sports at the bar. The food is OK, but pretty high-calorie choices only. Overall, I like the place, but they could improve the food a bit.
(4)Katherine R.
It's your average sports bar. The food is okay and the drinks are reasonably priced. I'm a fan of Monday happy hour all day (cheap drinks and half apps!) If you like to party, this is a great bar for the weekends. Once the dance floor opens around 11pm, the place is packed.
(3)Stephen D.
(4)Alok B.
Decent place. Decent staff, decent food, decent atmosphere. My order: Penne ala Vodka with Chicken Tasted like it should, but it was nothing phenomenal. I hear the burger's are not great, so avoid them.
(3)Adrienne B.
First time here tonight. Glad to have a nice bar/restaurant in the neighborhood. Bacon blue cheese burger and fries were yummy. Good variety of draft beers. Very sweet waitress to my toddler and baby. We'll be back!
(4)Steven S.
Improved over last visit. Better menu and kitchen. Very attentive waiter. No bus service
(3)Clint V.
(4)Christine O.
(4)Jess P.
(3)Samantha C.
(5)Ryan P.
I do!!! 5 stars.
(5)D L.
The happening place in town. Food here is very well made.
(5)Martin D.
(3)Dee C.
Been here twice and both times had the same thing. Grilled salmon with a double side of sautéed spinach. 1st time was delish 2nd time, they left the blood line on the fish when they cooked it and it was HUGE :( Still a fun place.
(3)Leslie L.
(5)Keilla S.
The mixed drinks are expensive so go easy on those
(4)Michael E.
I WOULD GIVE A 3.5 IF I COULD. My fiancé and I stopped into the Cornerstone to grab a bite to eat. We were about to grab a table by the bar but there was only one chair there. I asked the waiter to grab another seat and he did. Thanks! The bartenders were nice and attentive. The bar is big though so another bartender probably would have helped with the flow. The bar had a good selection of beers along with some great local beer which is always nice. Anyplace that has Defiant on tap is good in my book! The wings were good and tasty but I ordered them hot and that they weren't. My fiancé and I both got burgers. I got the California Burger which was good but I asked for medium rare and it came out more like med - well. The other burger was the Bacon Cheddar. Again over cooked. Had they come out the right temp they would have been much better. The waffle fries were also a tad burned. The crowd there is obviously a local crowd which is cool if you are from that area. I wouldn't really recommend coming here if you are trying to meet someone though. To many small groups of people keeping to themselves. They do have a downstairs room with a "club" but the people coming from there looked like zombies. What is nice though is that the train drops you off right in front of the place. That's great if you want to go with a group of friends and no one wants to drive. All in all, I would go back to The Cornerstone again. Nice staff, good beer, decent good.
(3)Jesse W.
Great local bar & restaurant, great staff great food. Nice place to watch a ball game with some buddies on a weekend.
(4)Jena S.
(5)Lindsey W.
(4)Michelle C.

(3)Jeff W.
(2)Jenna U.
Great food, great booze, great service... what more could you want?!
(5)Allan W.
(3)Alex B.
(4)Seth H.
Mushroom onion burger was really good. Decent beer selection. The entire bottom floor was reserved for a private party so I basically just sat at the bar and watched baseball. I heard that in the past this was kind of a party/sleazy spot but I didn't get that vibe at all.
(4)Craig M.
