Fiesta Mexicana is an interesting place. It reminds me of the South Philly Mexican joints and a bit of Tejas Grill. The interior walls are painted bright red and green colors. The wooden booths seem to be older and a bit more worn than the tables on the main floor. When I first came here, it was clean. Mexican music played from an old fashioned jukebox and they had a couple of TV's set up with programs that were on mute. My waitress presented me wtih chips drizzled with refried beans and sprinkled with queso fresco, as well as verdes and rojas style salsas. The verdes salsa was nice. The rojas salsa was the show stealer, being both hot and flavorful. I ordered the huitaloche quesadilla and a mix of lengua, al pastor, and suadero tacos. The huitaloche quesadilla was absolutely delicious. It eclipsed any of the other places I've had huitaloche quesadillas before. The tacos were a mixed bag. The lengua taco was full of flavor and had juicy bits of tongue in it. The al pastor tacos has plenty of pineapple in it, but the pork didn't have that much flavor to it. The suadero meat was reputed to be full of flavor. But what i tasted was basically something akin to roast beef. Don't get me wrong, I like roast beef. But I was expecting more than what I got. Service was excellent. I had very little problems talking to my server. Maybe that's because I've lived in bigger cities and worked around people whose native language isn't English. Or maybe its because my waitresses English was pretty good for the most part. The neighborhood was ok. I will say that it is just inside of Camden, which probably will deter some people. However, that would probably be a shame, as the food is worth a trip to try for yourself. Next time, I'm trying the pumpkin flower quesadilla and the enchiladas with mole sauce.

Am I picky? Yes. Can I be snobby? Yes. But do I know some good Mexican food when I eat it? Yes. Ok, so I met a coworker here for lunch and here's a quick low down of our experience. Pros- Easy to find. Good parking. Safe area. Smiling servers. Great guacamole. Cons- Dirty (floors, walls, etc.). No habla ingles bien. Bland, mediocre food (other than the guac). That's it. As my son would say- one and done.

Wow! I just finished eating my leftovers, which I was so looking forward to because this place is AMAZING! My husband and I are Mexican food connoisseurs, and are SO happy we found this place!! It's easily one of the best authentic Mexican around this area, We were apprehensive at first because it's in Camden, but it's more than safe! It is just right around the corner from Collings Ave/Black Horse Pk (make a right onto Black Horse/168). They have their own parking lot, so you do not need to park in the street...very convenient. First off, EVERYTHING is homemade...even the corn tortillas. The chips & salsa they start you off with is awesome! It's topped with beans and cheese and the salsas are the best! The red is REALLY hot, so be careful! The green can be hot at times, so be careful there too at first...but we LOVE hot, and the flavors of both salsas are sooo yummy! Try the quesdilla tinga!! It's amazing and amazingly cheap! I think it's only like $3! And along with the chips it fills even my husband up! When he's really hungry he'll add a taco and then he's stuffed at only $6 for quality tastiness! I love the tinga too, but do not eat much meat, so I go for the cheese enchilada's. They come with 3, so I have enough for a couple more meals at home (like today :) ) and rice and beans. I love the sauce that comes with it too! The atmosphere is what you would expect from an authentic mexican restaurant. Not the best decor, but the food more than makes up for it...and hey, it's actually kinda nice because you get the full experience! It's BYOB, and they have mixes if you want a margarita. Quality of the food, the portions with the great prices, you seriously cannot beat this place!!! Go there and support them, they really need more customers!!!

This is one of our favorite places to order from since moving to Collingswood, the food comes fast and it's fairly cheap. Everything we have tried has been really fresh tasting and cheap. Once we went to the restaurant and no one greeted us for 10 minutes so we left. I would stick to tacos, burritos, and quesadillas-they are cheap, full to the brim, and good. I have tried the enchiladas, and the chile rellenos and while they are good, the more simple items are especially good. I like the chorizo tacos, the squash blossom quesadillas, and the sopes. The guacamole is good, but the amount you get is small. The tortillas are flavorful and make the food taste better. The owner himself sometimes delivers and he is very jolly. I read on the website that the chef/owner started as a busboy and worked up to running is own restaurant which is nice. Recently they started offering beverages with delivery which is nice. Order the tres leches or the brownie if you are dying for something sweet.

Pretty good food considering the price. A lot different than most the Mexican joints around. This is pretty pure Mexican, not Tex-Mex. Overall I give this place a B+. I'll definitely be back again

I went here with my 3 sisters on a Monday evening during christmas time. We were a bit skeptical because the place was empty when we arrived. But once we sat and ordered I realized we will definitely be back! The food was so delicious, fresh, and authentic. Byob is an added bonus and the atmosphere was fun but relaxed. The service was great, a sweet woman who let us sit and chat after we were done eating and they were close to closing for the night. I definitely recommend this place!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
