I'm such a Korean Bbq kind of gal. Every town I visit, I look for Korean Bbq. I enjoy this restaurants full service. The servers actually cook for you at the table. I love Korean bbq! The bulgolgi is sweet but not too strong in flavor. My kids usually eat the chicken that's not spicy. It's not bad, but still a little weak in flavoring also. Their side are pretty good. This is the only restaurant I know that served kkanpungi. It's spicy and sour chicken. There is not too much batter and flavoring is on point

Honestly, it's really hard to mess up Korean BBQ, but this place has managed to do just that. Terrible rude service (I ordered soup, they brought out the wrong kind, and refused to take it back/brought out the check before the food/informed us we had to eat faster because they were closing though the sign in the front said otherwise), dried out tasteless meat, tiny sides, and overpriced. Save yourself the check and go literally anywhere else.

Fantastic Korean BBQ experience on the east coast. Considering I've had my fair share of LA Korean BBQ nights, this one was memorable. We ordered the $99 Combo made for 3 people and we split it between 5 and it was the perfect amount of food. Service was attentive, but not overly friendly or overbearing. Location is a bit obscure, but if you are in the area, who cares. Parking and seating was easy for a Sunday night.

In recent years, Beawon has been my go to place for Korean cravings in the South Jersey area. Plentiful of banchan (small side dishes) to accompany your meals, which are all reasonably priced~ Great for both small and large intimate get together because they offer both single and group valued meals. Relatively large selection of food options; service is the average if not better (depending on time), but all in all pretty attentive. Would definitely recommend checking out if you are new to the area (: Also, there's a small H-Mart right next door, so if you are on the wait list to get seated or if you're simply just stuffed to the max and need to get in a small breather before hitting the road, you can just walk around the super market.

based on my past couple visits in the last 6 months, this place has returned from one of my worse dining experiences to A-OK! i have no idea about the history of this restaurants.. but it's safe to say for now that it's not a bad choice for korean food in the area. service might still be slow-- but it's tolerable. staff might not be overly attentive so don't be shy and wave them down if needed~ lol food wise~ we usually order the Kalbi for BBQ. we also tried the pork belly before but it was bland. our recent favorite is the hangover soup~ it is especially nice on a super cold day! another favorite is the kalbi dolsot-- my brother's go-to b/c they take out all the bones for you and gives you a generous portion of the kalbi :) pretty decent job on the marinating too~ it's super close to my home so i'll be stopping in again~ ps. don't forget that loyalty card! if you collect enough visits on your card, you get a free appetizer!

In general Korean food tends to be a tad bit expensive, especially when it comes to Korean BBQ. Beawon is a great place that's "nearby" (I mean't around the south Jersey area). They have plenty of parking because it's in the same area as H-mart (Korean grocery market). Anyways I've been to plenty of Korean restaurants and there's nothing too special about Beawon. They have very friendly staff, but some of the dishes lacked flavor...which is why I'm giving this place a 3 star. We ordered a bunch of different soups/noodle dishes along with a "group meal" which included BBQ and other small dishes, but the restaurant really seem to skimp out on the meats. BBQ in general at Beawon is like $20-$30 per meat dish to BBQ and they give so little of it that it basically only feeds maybe 1-2 people (1 being a dude and 2 being girls) It's sorta pathetic how small the BBQ portions are compared to other Korean places. The next thing is DON'T TRY the seolleongtang that they have here...I ordered it because it's supposed to be a difficult and delicious Korean soup dish, but it honestly tasted like rice water with very little meat in it. I was very disappointed... Also I'm sure many people like to take their time eating and chatting with their friends, but I've been to Beawon maybe 2-3 times and each time without fail they seem to rush their customers with eating. I have never had a relaxing meal here because before you even finish one thing they try to squeeze in other dishes on your table making it hard for you to even eat. And if you do eat longer they stand there watching you until you finish. It was pretty uncomfortable eating here being rushed and all. So in general Beawon had nice staffs (though they don't talk too much) but it's pricey, too rushed and food wasn't that amazing. So personally I don't think I'd want to come back again. IF you really want to try Korean food it isn't a bad place to start if .you're willing to cough up more money vs going to Philly/New York

I feel that one should allow leeway when reviewing restaurants that cater well to groups, and Beawon does indeed seem to suit groups well. They do have an extensive repertoire for a Korean restaurants (good Korean restaurants tend to stick to one or two types of dishes and milk those ad infinitum) but I guess it's somewhat expected out of a "Korean BBQ" restaurant. I tried the Spicy Tofu Soup (soon doobu) and it was disappointing in a calculating way; the soup was barely spicy, even though I ordered in Korean and requested it to be made very spicy, there was barely any seafood in the soup, and they also elected to use firm tofu over softer alternatives. The side of steamed dumplings we ordered was decent and definitely home made as far as I could tell. On the positive end: even with a group of 10+ people, Beawon made sure everyone had food on their plates, and the wait staff was very accommodating; they brought out a special fried banana ice cream-esque dish for the birthday girl when I asked if they had anything special in terms of birthday treats. My take on this place is that it should strictly be treated as a KBBQ restaurant and nothing more, if you don't want to leave disappointed.

Please ignore my Old Review!! This is the Place to take a first date! The Service, Food, and Atmosphere are GREAT! I Strongley Suggest you bring a good Bottle of Chilled Riesling, Or SAKE, and order the Korean BBQ for 2. Cheaper than going to a Local Brand Name Steakhouse. You'll get stuffed on all the side dishes. You'll get Marinated Rib Eye, Pork, Shrimp, and Chicken. Cooked right in front of you and your special one! You can actually carry on a conversation without NOISE!! Peaceful, Friendly, atmosphere with Excellent Food and Service. I continue to come back while shopping at the "H" Mart!! ENJOY!! Was headed to the Asian Market earlier today and as many times as I've been I always said I wanted to try Beawon. My wife and I went mainly to get some bulgogi. Then we looked at the menu! This place is expensive ! I skipped the bulgogi as I didn't feel like spending $48 for lunch. We went with the shrimp tempura which was decent. The vegetable and scallion pancake and dumplings were pretty bad. Should have just went home. I'll never go back.

I got the spicy chicken dolsot bibimbap. I think they should take off the "spicy" from the name because it was definitely not spicy. Overall, service was decent and the water was perfectly cold. Maybe I'll come back next time.

This is a place that it's better off going in a large group to split things up and share. The food was pretty good. The service was okay we were seated kind of late. And there weren't that many people there. The interior was a little tacky.

With regard to taste, this was a great meal. There are some factual changes from prior reviews by others, so please read on. First, an older review states that sushi is no longer served here. Not so. The word "Sushi" is emblazoned across the outside of the building and there is a fairly extensive Sushi menu within the main menu. So if one or more of your party is in a Sushi mood, don't fear. Speaking of fear, I always thought that Korean food was supposed to be too spicy for American tastes. This is not a problem at Beawon. Two of us shared the "Number 9 Korean Bar-B-Que for Two." It includes a sampler of shrimp, pork, beef, and chicken where the pork and chicken are in red menu font indicating spiciness. It was all wonderful and nothing had close to the spiciness of Hot Wings typical of any American bar. Instead, the proteins were all brought to our table, prepared by our server, and wonderfully and fully flavored, and in no way unacceptable to the American palate. The proteins are preceded by a half dozen small dishes of various Korean "salads" of which only the Kimchi (Korean cabbage with a bright red sauce) could be classified as very hot. I loved the Kimchi. If you are cautious around spicy foods, take a small bite or skip just this one item. The meal is also preceded by a small salad with a very mild dressing. While I thought the salad was just OK, my wife really liked it. For those who really want zero spice, the menu item "Number 8 Korean Bar-B-Que" offers four proteins without any "red" font. (For anyone who appreciates mildly flavored foods, I still recommend trying Number 9.) My wife ordered a stew with multiple shell fish. Yes, the shrimp in Korea are cooked in their shell to maximize the flavor in the broth. Yes, she loved it all anyway and would order it again. This meal totaled $27 per person including tip, but no alcohol. (I did not notice if this was a BYOB or not. We weren't drinking spirits this evening.) If my wife had a regular entrée instead the stew, the bill would have been closer to $30 per person. Some reviewers observed that there were staff on hand who spoke English and could explain menu items. Maybe this is so on weekends or the staff didn't realize we were asking for help. We tried speaking with three different people, none of whom seemed to understand what we were saying beyond our pointing to menu items to order. However, everything we ordered was brought promptly, prepared cheerfully, and was enjoyed immensely. Either we were lucky to have ordered what we did or perhaps everything is as good as the other reviews suggest. A few other observations: I called ahead to confirm hours of operation and to see if reservations were needed. It took three conversations with three different people before someone who understood English well enough to answer the question, "What time do you close this evening?" During the week, it turns out, the answer is 10:00 PM, not the 10:30 posted on Yelp. Also, reservations are not required or needed on weeknights. The restaurant is clean, modern, well decorated, and suitable for romantic evenings. There is a gas grill in the center of each table where the Barb-B-Que is prepared. I liked that the tables are far enough apart that the noise level is low and there was no problem at all conversing with my dinner partners. My only real complaint for the evening is that the front doors were propped open and the very cold night air came into the dining room every time someone entered the restaurant through the inner doors. The presence of a space heater at the front desk was not a sufficient solution and both of my dinner partners agreed to insist to sit far from the front door on future winter evenings. Note to management: Never prop open the front doors in the winter in New Jersey. This small item could ruin the dinner for someone sensitive to cold drafts. Close the doors and kill the draft and I would add another star to my rating. The bottom line: The top quality of the food in a restaurant with a quiet and comfortable atmosphere makes this restaurant appealing. The problems noted were ones that can be easily fixed. This was a pricey meal, but well worth it. The materials were fresh, of top quality, and of wonderful taste. We hope to return with more friends to sample more of the menu.

Needless to say we're spoiled living in SoCAL with Korean BBQ choices, Baewon is fine if it's all there is... But when you're from somewhere that offers ayce Kbbq then this ends up being a real lackluster experience. The main reason we go to Korean BBQ is the MEAT but at Baewon the one part of your meal that has the smallest serving is the meat! Lol. I'll just wait till I go back home to the OC to have my KBbq where I am actually the one who cooks the meat on the grill myself (why don't they let you grill your own meat here?)

I've given this place a lot of chances since my last review, and I've definitely been impressed with the changes. They've slightly revamped the interior decor, but not only that, the food has become significantly better! It was definitely a pleasant surprise, and I have been making this a regular spot for my family and I. Not only is it a convenient location (rather than going all the way to northeast Philly) for Korean BBQ, but this place definitely gets a higher level of sanitation compared to the ones in northeast Philly! I would go back here just for the salad you get when you order your meats! If only I can recreate that at home, I'd be eating that all day. I've bumped this place up to 4 stars because their food has gotten significantly better, and their prices aren't so ridiculous. I am always going home with leftovers for fourth meal! You will probably find me stuffing my face with kbbq there every other week!

Went yesterday with a few friends. The meat aspect was delicious and the portions of the lunch special are huge. However, they substituted items (due to lack of inventory) and did not let us know. Noodles were substituted for sushi. The dumplings and miso soup were mediocre. Won't eat there again.

I've been to Beawon a few times over the years (throughout the new management/owners). I've usually had a positive experience and enjoyed their food/service. However, tonight's dining experience has made me not want to go to this establishment ever again and has frustrated me to the point where I need to explain my reasons on yelp (which I rarely give places 1-2 stars). Tonight my family wanted to celebrate two birthdays. We had 14 people and I understood that it was a large party. They accommodated us with 2 tables (6 on one table, 8 on another) which was totally fine. Once our server, Aimee, came to take our order, I took the liberty to order for both tables. I've been to plenty of Korean bbq places and in plenty of K-Towns (NYC, Fort Lee NJ, North Philly, etc) to understand how to order BBQ. I order two of each types of meats--kalbi/galbee, pork belly, shrimp etc, seafood pancake, soups etc.. all the typical korean food. Service: Aimee, the server, gave me the dirtiest look and began insisting that "one order" of meat is for "ONE PERSON". I was already skeptical of this place since the prices have definitely gone up (more expensive than NYC k-town!!!!).. She tried to explain to me that since I have 8 people in my table, that I NEEDED to order 1 order of meat PER PERSON.. $27.95 (kalbi) x 8 people = $224 for just ONE MEAT?! I ask her is this the new policy or something? And she looked at me as if I was poor and couldn't afford it. No I am not making this up--I am also in the service industry, so I understand if people have a bad day at work.. so I let it slide. So I ask her does she expect me to pay $224 for one table of MEAT that they probably went to H-Mart next door to get?! She said "YES". WTF is that...She then said, "Go think it over.. i'll be back". And left swiftly. Aimee came back to take our order, and again, she still didn't understand that we were eating family style and were sharing every meat...it wasn't "per person" as she lead me to believe was the policy...and if that were the case, I would've got up and left already since it isn't worth it (14 people x $28 kalbi = 392 + tax). I guess i'm use to philly places where we can usually cook our meat our selves and at our own pace. I can understand food/restaurant regulations regarding open flames at the table...so that wasn't a big deal either. Aimee proceeded to cook at both our tables .. shrimp was first, and since the grill was super hot, it ended up burning one side since she took the tongs to the other table. We had to flip the shrimps our selves, which fortunately we were looking after our meat or that would've been a waste of already overpriced 10 pieces of shrimp for $24. The server was definitely stand off-ish and most likely had a bad day and took it out on my family and our dining experience tonight. I'm asian, so i'm use to "rude" service when we go out to eat, but this service was blatantly in your face "STFU" kind of service. I have no idea why the server was in such a rush trying to cook our bbq and get out of there with the quickness.. In her haste, she ended up spilling a glass of water over on my cousin's plate/dining area. Food: The bbq was not worth it compared to before. The prices went up, the portions went down. No wonder she tried to persuade me into getting "One order person"..The seafood pancake was thick, slightly undercooked, and they forgot the sauce that comes with it...we asked about it, but it was ignored. The saving grace for me, were the side dishes, mainly their dressed salad. Perhaps the service was horrendous because the server knew her tip was already included in the final bill. It came out to be about $310. Hopefully anyone who goes there, pray that Aimee is having a good day or else you'll get a big STFU during your dining experience.

I've been to this Resturant several times over the past several years and after today I'm pretty sure I won't be coming back. I give them three stars based on the cost of the food, the service and the overall atmosphere. Lets start with the staff. The staff were definitely not the friendliest people. And like I read in other reviews they kinda give you a look like you can afford their prices. Which, in all honesty for the portion that is given and the price they charge is definitely not worth my money. So that brings us to the cost of the food. The first and main complaint that I have is the price and portion of their Bolgogi Short Ribs. I understand that most Korean Restaurants charge anywhere from 15-20 dollars for a plate of Bolgogi but did they seriously just charge us 56 dollars for four piece of meat? I mean seriously...my family like to eat and we don't mind paying to eat the food we like and because we like to eat we usually know when they are just over pricing the items...and they are DEFINITELY overpricing theirs! Along with the Bolgogi meat we also ordered a plate of Udon Noodle which was so salty we barely touched it. We also ordered several clay pot soups and those I must admit was the highlight of our dinner cause out of the six clay pots that we ordered all of them were delicious. Now the last thing I want to mention is the little cute play area they have for the kids. Being a parent myself I know that at times our child just don't feel like eating or sitting still and I truly appreciate the owners for coming up with this concept that would keep our little ones busy while we try to have a nice relaxing lunch or dinner. The play area consist of a big flat screen TV, a rock climbing wall, several different tents and tunnels and a pretty cool ball playpen. Note: that there is no staff supervision so if you allow your child to play in that area make sure you have seating close to the play room where you would be able to watch them while dining.

This is one of my favorite restaurant, I always go there before I moved to central jersey. I took my parents to this place today when I come back to visit them, I haven't come here for almost a year, I think they might have changed their ownership. The menu is changed. Back then, the food was good and staffs were friendly. I definitely not pleased with the service today, the waiter served me was so unfriendly, they didn't asking the spicy level I want for my soup, When I asked questions about the dishes, he didn't answer me at all, when I asked to refill my side dishes he gave me a look, n he never come by to refill my tea, when I asked him to refill he gave me a look. And he never come by to take the check, I had to take the check to the cashier myself, and the guy at the cashier was rude too, he almost threw my credit card. Food quality went down too. And the price is overpriced.

All i can say is wow. This place is a complete rip off. The service is terrible and the prices are outrageous. Instead of the waitress (Aimee) being helpful she was the complete opposite. We came here for the bbq and she insisted that each of us HAD to order a meat as if we couldn't share. Mind you the prices averaged to about $25/order. The meat portions did not reflect the cost. You do not get what you pay for. I had the shrimps which cost about $25 and you only get about 10 pieces. That's just unheard of. I'm not fond of restaurants were the wait staff are unfriendly and unwelcoming. There was no excuse for such horrible service. Do yourself a favor and go some place else.

I had to revise my review with the new owners, and I think it is a step down (dropped one star). The kimchee jigae (spicy tofu stew) was pretty similar, though there were noodles in it now. The jaeyook kimchi bokum (stir fry with spicy pork and kimchi) was ok, but I was disappointed that they put this gigantic block of tofu under the meat, making it look like the plate was piled high when the portion was nowhere near as large as it used to be. My favorite dish, the octopus rice bowl, is what has gone down hill the most. This place is ok now, used to be much better. Service is still very good, but with the changes in the food I imagine that I will be spending more time at Sammy Chon's KTown BBQ (Korean BBQ just a couple miles down rt. 70). still BYOB

We drive by this place everyday. And I mean, everyday. But we never really felt interested enough to give it try (plus, the reviews on Yelp weren't that great at the time). One day, the boyfriend and I were shopping at H-mart right next door, and because we already ate, we just went into Beawon to take a look at the menu. They apparently changed owners earlier this year and the restaurant itself seemed very welcoming-ly spacious. Fast-forward to the day we actually dined here... we ordered the Korean BBQ with bulgogi and kalbi. It was the best. Ever. The friendly ladies came by our table frequently to help us grill the meats. The salad and banchan pre-BBQ were equally as appetizing; my favorite being the little sesame dried fish dish. I can most likely eat a bag of those if they let me. This place reminds me a lot of Hahm Ji Bach in Flushing, NY. Mmmm! We can't wait to go back here, especially since I've been going through a Big Bang and 2ne1 craze these days... it's like everything I crave for is Korean food. I'm sure this place is already picking up because of the new owner Stacey, and I truly wish them all the best. One of my favorite Korean restos in Cherry Hill!

Food is ok, nothing special. I feel that people come here for the korean bbq grill. To tell you the truth its not worth it! It is freaking expensive and all you get is two miserable strips of marinated bbq. I would rather drive to Phili to get korean bbq than come here. Their staff is a hit or miss. I guess it depends on the day and who you get. Side dishes are nothing special and their food is ok too. Portion size is normal with the exception of the bbq. After giving it a try again, I have to say that I will not come back to this place. The place is convenient because its right next to hmart, but to tell you the truth, there are better places to go which are probably less than a mile away.

I've been a seorabol regular for years but Beawon is my new favourite for Korean BBQ. The cuts of kalbi (short rib) here are the real deal-- they serve great quality cuts of meat and zero fat. This place is everything you look for in a good Korean BBQ place. Good variety of side dishes and a great menu. Definitely a new go-to for me!

I have been coming here at least twice a month for the past year. I love the kimchi pancake (which I top with more kimchi), jaepchae, bulgogi, kalbi, bibimbap (light and healthy)... If you're new to kbbq, that's a good place to start... Not all at once, though...unless you bring friends.

Good food. I had the Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbap and it was excellent. My only complaint (if you can even call it a complaint) is that the pot wasn't hot enough to make the rice crust over at the bottom. Other than that, it was great. Portion was huge, and the wide array of side dishes was great too. Also, I'm not usually much of a miso soup fan, but the soup here was really good and I found myself wanting a little more after I finished my bowl.

These guys have seriously upped their game. Good service and, for anywhere outside of NYC, LA, or Seoul, for that matter, great food. I knew I was in the right place when the restaurant was full of all Korean folks and us. I've been here many times over the years, and it's always been good, but this time on a busy night really stood out. Samgyupsal was like my favorite place in Seoul with big thick slices. The galbi was good too-very tender and well-marinated. These two were just a little small in portion, but that was ok for B and me. The galbi tang was perfect and a great foil to the less spicy other dishes. Ban-chun (all Koreans please forgive my spelling)-little plates that you get served before the meal- plentiful, varied, and delicious. Nice people serving aim to please and not so expensive. Go there and get some decent K food before shipping around the corner at HMart for the week.

So many good things to say about Beawon - they're such a pleasant atmosphere of friendly servers, inviting (and well-lit) dining room and their FOOD. Bon chons --- awesome! The different kinds we had were some sort of potato salad, kimchi (of course), fishcake & a few others that are currently slipping my mind. Loved 'em all & they were quite nice about refilling for seconds :). I tip-toed past my usual kalbi & soondubu favorites and ventured on instead for some kkanpunggi (a spicy version of sweet & sour chicken) & Jjamppong, a sort of ramen-type dish with seafood. I really liked the jjamppong, but preferred the broth tossed with rice instead of noodles (perhaps this is a change they could make for you per request?). Happily slurped up all the goodness, seafood was really fresh, couldn't have asked for a better heart-warming meal.

For the pricing soups, noddle dishes and rice dishes are from $10.95 to $16 the dishes are very filling so worth the money as for the meats you can cook the price is $25 to $45 its alot but it could feed 4 maybe 5 ppl and you cook it yourself kinda theres a waiter there to assist and it looks kool!

I come here primarily for the kalbi BBQ. I know Beawon offers a variety of korean dishes and sushi but I find my memory of them forgettable -- not to say they aren't good, just not outstanding compared to the kalbi. Besides, this place says Beawon BBQ in huge letters on the sign. B-B-Q. Get Kalbi. Beawon, and any other korean restaurant for the matter, clearly knows I'm not Korean through what I devised as the "Korean test." Basically, if you are some sort of Asian and walk into a korean restaurant, the staff greets you in authentic Korean. The staff can always deduce the temporary look of fear and/or confusion on your face, no matter how hard you try to conceal it. It's not a problem but I find Beawon likes to give us waitresses who specifically handle non-Korean customers instead of the authentic Korean ones. Actually, I find it amusing. Nothing is more terrible/heart-wrenching/funny than watching your father and a waiter/waitress try to communicate basic orders with one another in fobby English. (Sorry Dad, I love you.) With that said, back to Kalbi. If you like grilled meats, you will like Kalbi. I find it is the most flavorful, tender, juicy, succulent type of marinated meat and it is well-worth it to pay a little more for better quality BBQ. It's like feeding your kids organic milk over regular milk. Feed them organic milk and they won't be pimply brats. Just regular brats. Eat kalbi and you will be very happy. Instead of just "happy." Also, free steamed egg and boricha is good.

Finally popped into Baewon (Stacey's BBQ) for dinner with friends. The place is large with hoods over every table to handle the smoke from the in-table bbq grills. We sampled a large portion of the menu including the scallion pancake app, steamed dumplings, kimchi...etc. For the entre we decided on a mix bag of BBQ items like the beef, pork and shrimp. Everything was tasty but it seemed a little lacking in the spice department. I like my traditional foods to taste as if they were made for a local and Baewon seemed to dumb down the flavor a bit. I will go back just not tomorrow ;)

YUM! This place is good for (of course) Korean BBQ! The atmosphere is nice; not too many people but enough to make it feel alive and not awkward. The service was friendly and helpful. Now here's a breakdown of what we ordered: We had the Tempura Calamari and Seafood Pancakes for appetizers. The calamari came in a smaller portion than expected, but that's probably cuz we had 6 people. The seafood pancakes were much better, especially with the sauce provided. Two hits right here! For the rest of the night we had: Bulgogi - Beef, Dak (chicken) and Daeji (pork): YUM! The meats came in decent portions and filled all 6 of us. They were tender and flavored; not too much fat hanging on the side but enough to make each bite evenly satisfying. Wish we tried the Kalbi Bulgogi though, that looked mouthwatering and I saw the table next to us order a giant plate. Spider roll - EH, definitely not a miss but nothing memorable. The roll was just your standard upper-quality roll. My advice is to try the Korean dishes...and leave the sushi for Japanese restaurants. The roasted eel that we had was good too. Roasted eel - hit! Freshly heated eel, enough said. Seafood soup: MISS! Personally this was way too bland for me, not to mention the fish bones were well-hidden and managed to get to me a few times..didn't both eating the shrimp in my bowl either. Didn't taste any "freshness" but the soup base itself was not that bad. I'm not too sure about prices, but I assume they were on the typical price range for Korean BBQ. Overall, very decent place in the area. Great for a larger party to share the load :)

Korean food has always been a mystery to me but Beawon has stimulated me to explore the world beyond bulgogi and kimchi. My first expedience here was lunch as I was roving from my office looking for something interesting. I found it. Beawon is a large venue nicely decorated. The staff are friendly to us ignorant Occidentals that stumble in. Good sign, most of the patrons were Korean. Servings are large and, at least to my inexperienced palate, quit good. I love the plates of savory delights that come as the first serving and accompany the meal. I also enjoy the sweet desert they bring at the end of the meal. I will continue to rely on Beawon in my exploration of this interesting cuisine.

Of all the places doing Korean BBQ on Marlton Pike, this is the place that my friends like the best, and I agree. We were six people, and the bulgogi was more than enough for everyone to eat their fill. Also enjoyed a handful of appetizers including the seafood pancake. The fried dumplings were so-so. The loss of stars was mostly for atmosphere. Nothing to write home about. Didn't feel particularly warm or welcoming, but it was definitely clean, and the staff was friendly. If you are here just for the food, then you won't be disappointed.

We went into Baewon today after rock climbing around the corner. Hanaehreum, a Korean supermarket is around the corner so we went and got some groceries first! Okay back to the good stuff- We sat down and had the option of the regular table or the BBQ (they also offered sushi). Grill it is, why not! We ordered the Beef and Pork Bulgogi and Bibimpap. Our drinks came, 2 cans of coke, 2 glasses with ice and my green tea. Ummm....my green tea came in a bag in a cup of hot water. I was expecting better. Oh well. All the side dishes came out, a whole slew of them, and for those unfamiliar with Koren BBQ, they come free :) PS- don't fill up on them, wait for the good stuff. A few minutes later, the raw marinated meats came out and the server turned on the grill which sits in the middle of the table. The portions weren't that bad, but the fat marbling made me weary. Definitely not for those who are on a diet, I guess I'm gaining all that I lost from rock climbing/top roping. So, began the cooking. We had the server there for most of the time. While I understand that some people may not know how this BBQ thing works, it would be nice to have the option of cooking the food yourself. I actually told the server to not worry about us since we knew how this thing goes, but she kept on coming back (I'm being critical again). What I didn't particularly like was the fact that she kept on putting the cooked meat on our plates, serving us. I felt like I was being rushed to finish up. I would have gone to a hibachi place if i had wanted to be served table side. The intrusion didn't enable the 3 of us to have a normal conversation since there was this arm going back and forth while the server was making small talk asking where we were from etc. I found it a little offensive that she kept on talking in mandarin to our friend Jocelyn who spoke Cantonese. I understand being customer service focused, but this was a bit excessive. Again, I'm being critical again. The food was really good however, and if I were to focus on that, it was a great place. Cuz of the food and the ease of parking, and close proximity to the Korean supermarket, I am gonna give it 4 stars anyways. A little disappointed in my tea (bag), but I got over it. The place was also a bit warm, and I felt like the fume hoods above the tables weren't working properly. Maybe they weren't on? PS- on a side note, if you're weird like me, I would bring a change of clothes since you'll leave the place with the wonderful aroma of bulgogi on your clothes, lol.

I have been to Beawon twice. It is located right next to HMart. The first time we had korean bbq with the grill in front of us. It was okay. The second time was for the BF's company holiday party. I must say, my second experience was much much better with the korean bbq being cooked in the kitchen. We ordered a little of everything on the menu from seafood pancake, bibimbap, soonduboo, and kalbi and everything was just spectacular. The room which held over 20 people was a bit claustrophobic, but it had a strobe light machine and karaoke with two mics. Good times! oh and BYOB.

My brother and sister-in-law chose this place to have a small family gathering to celebrate their recent elopement. So there were 12 of us, all different ages- from 5 to 80, some not so experienced with Korean food, others more so. We were ushered into a private dining room (something we forgot to ask for, but appreciated), and then we just ordered a huge variety of dishes, both already cooked and others to cook on the big old grills in front of us. The kids had a great time watching the food cook in front of us, and even though they may not have been familiar with Korean spices, they ate everything in sight. In fact, after gorging ourselves, we all sat back and realized that barely a morself of meat or vegetable was left on the table. Service was very attentive, and though their English wasn't perfect, the waitresses managed to explain everything we needed to know and take great care of us. A fun get-together!

The only reason I am giving them 3 stars instead of 4 is because of their service. I know asian restaurants arent known for "exceptional customer service" but come on dude. Beware of the waiter named Kevin (older korean guy) he always seems to rush us. I understand we may have arrived 50 minutes before the end of your shift but the first thing you say to us upon arrival is "hurry up and order. Kitchen close 930" mind you there was only 2 of us and we arrived at 9. After coming up to us 3 times he finally put in our order and said he couldn't cook it on our table since we only ordered one meat dish. Whatever, no big deal. Our check pretty much got brought to us right after our food. It might as well have been brought out with the food. The food was good as usual. Soon dubu was extra yummy. They should hire some servers that have better English because it becomes an issue when we have difficulty communicating something as simple as our order to the waiter. Hmph! Took our bill but didn't return with change. I guess I have to keep my service expectations extra low the next time I come here. Funny because right down the road is Sammy Chons and they have fantastic service.

I just gave Beawon my second and last attempt. The first time I ate there I had one of their lunch specials with bulgogi and some banchon. There was some fried rice that came along side and it was depressingly mushy. I don't know if they were off or what, but mushy fried rice is a travesty. Seriously, if this white girl can master fried rice, I would expect anyone could. Apparently not the chef at Beawon. So along comes today. I had a craving and as Beawon is closest to the job, they won. Alas, I ordered the bibimbap. As I was not in the restaurant I asked for just plain ol' bibimbap. I was asked if I wanted the bibimbap cold, and I said, "No, bibimbap, without being heated on the stone, but warm please." I picked up and was given cold veggies, a cold fried egg (with way too much unset white for my taste) and a block of cool rice. I might have been able to forgive all that, after all this is why God invented the microwave...but it also didn't taste that great. The veggies were very salty. There was maybe one tablespoon of meat, and bah, just not the best bibimbap. Not even close. Disappointing.... If you're going to Beawon, it sounds like you should eat in, and from the sounds of it, you should order some variety of barbecue. I fear the mushy rice and the over salted and yet still more or less flavorless bibimbap.

I was on the way back to Maryland from New York City and found this place through Yelp. It was on our way so we stopped off to get some korean bbq. It is a pretty big restaurant but nothing really special. The food was okay. Their kalbi had a descent flavoring but it was so fatty. I was chewing on more fat than the actual meat. They did have a good amount of other dishes besides the Korean BBQ to eat, which was good since all of us that went wanted something different.

Honestly love doesn't begin to describe how I feel about this place. My family and I try and make it as often as we can. Although I've never been to Korea, we are an Army family and moved around enough to have tried it at various locations along the east coast. Beawon is by far my favorite. The food is so well seasoned and the fact that its cooked right in front of you the way it should be is just icing on the cake of deliciousness that is BEAWON! My husband and I always get the Combo which includes shrimp, Bulgogi, Spicy Chicken, & Spicy Pork and it never disappoints. They also offer small rooms that are ready for you to rock out with some KARAOKE!!!!! It was only on my last visit with a group of about 10 of us that we were put into a small private room and we almost lost it! Lost it in a good way of course because we are some serious karaoke lovers! We asked how to get the system turned on and were told we needed to have spent a collective $200 EASY!!! There's seriously like 10 of us no problem and a problem it was not we ate laughed sang and had an amazing family dinner, we pretty much shut Beawon down that night. If you like Korean food or are interested in trying it this is the place to go. The wait staff is friendly and the environment is set up for fun. It's up to you to just have fun with it all and enjoy yourself. Oh and the side dishes are AWESOME even though they haven't had a lot of my favorite ones the last three times I've been it's given me the opportunity to try others but I do miss having my spicy cucumbers. My husband loves the Kim Chi and just about everything (he's a bit more of an adventurer when it comes to food than I am). We have also introduced some people to the awesomeness of Beawon and they too love it soooooooo yea this place is AWESOME in my book!

My wife and I were in Cherry Hill looking a car we wanted to buy and decided to stop somewhere for dinner. I saw a sign that said Stacys BBQ and thought it was well BBQ like ribs, brisket, etc. When we turned around and pulled in it was Korean BBQ. I said to my wife that works too. She was a little apprehensive but said fine. We were really glad we did. We split a dish and it was soooo good. I can't remember what it was called but it was like a soup/stew with Kimchi and dumplings stuffed with Pork and vegetables, rice cakes, tofu, and a nice broth. Delicious. Before that it had a dish of kimchi, a dish of fish noodles, watercress, sweet potato noodles, tofu. It was ALL fantastic. The bowl of soup/stew that described early was cooked in front of you. Then at the end they gave you some sort of rice slushy desert. Also fantastic. My wife and i are so glad we accidentally stumbled on this place and would definitely come again! the waitress Kim was also just great! If you are nearby and want to stop in I highly recommend this place. I am not a Korean connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination but it must be good because we were the only non Korean's in the restaurant. This place was pretty legit!

3 stars for food, 5 stars for service! I had been having the biggest bibm naeng mun craving EVER, so I called ahead to make sure they were open & had it on the menu. When I got there a few minutes later, the hostess recognized my voice and called out to the kitchen to prepare bibim naeng myun! We all had a good laugh about it, and within 10 minutes I was chopstick-deep in my naeng myun with some delicious banchan (side dishes). The naeng myun was spicy, but didn't have too much flavor. The banchan were OK. Still, everything hit the spot and I'll definitely be back.

korean bbq was pretty tasty! great mini starter dishes and fairly priced lunch menu. The bulgogi lunch plate and the kalbi rice bowl were both great. Good portion sizes too! I could go without the fried rice and california roll that came with the lunch plate, but the marinates meats were delicious! And the service was good too, which is unusual for most asian restaurants... :)

Had dinner and it was equally impressive as my previous lunch. Guest and I had the Bulgoggi. A very good portion of Rib Eye Steak Grilled on the table. The Kimshi Pancakes was also large and tasty. The Salad was dressed with a house dressing and was better than many other restaurant versions. The 8 side dishes or tasting plates were from the curious to very good. Some were very spicy other sides were a bit tame. Service was as expected. We wanted something different than the old standbys and this certainly did well. I would visit again. For two including tip was 75 dollars. You can have an excellent dinner without ordering extra soup and appetizer as we did and still have plenty to eat.

I almost failed to try out this place due to the poor ratings here. Yet, what a surprise!! This ended up being far the best Korean restaurants I've found in the Delaware valley. First, many variety of banchans I actually enjoyed (including japchae, seasoned dried radish, friend kimchi, pickled chayote, etc); Dumplings were just like the ones made at home; galbi was melt in your mouth with excellent quality; balance of the salty, sweet, and sour flavors of naengmyun was almost perfect; cold sikhae (dessert) was To top it off, their service was impeccable compared to other Korean places. This place is also very family friendly with its own play area for young kids.

This is probably the Korean restaurant I've been to the most, as my mother keeps returning to it as a place to really enjoy herself and food outside of her own cooking, her friends' cooking, or her homeland. As such, I'm not actually reviewing one discrete experience. The stews are delicious, especially seafood, and the BBQ as well. I really recommend the BBQ shrimp. The servers, very kind and friendly who usually can speak some sort of English, like to load up every available space with banchan. ~ One of the highlights of Korean restaurants, and a full star by itself! Once when I was really craving spiced scrambled egg and we weren't given any, my mother asked the server and he had a cook make one up for me fresh, complimentary! It was still bubbling as he set it on the table. Now that's service. I have tried a variety of dishes there and have not met one I haven't enjoyed. I also found the very first tea I liked here, a cinnamon dessert tea. It was also given complimentary at the end of a large dinner, which they like to do sometimes, because they love when you spend lots of money there. ;) You get free, unasked for banchan, like a whole fish, even. The decor is simple and understated, nothing to complain about. The convenient location also means that you can fill up and not spend as much money at the Han Ah Reum because you aren't drooling over everything in there. I do recommend going with someone who can communicate with servers in Korean to truly enjoy the experience.

We come here for the Korean Sashimi Salad. The quality of fish is average nothing like Sagami. But this is a Korean Salad so It's different. They mixed the rice in the salad with the korean red sauce. Sometimes we order the soon do bu here too. It's okay. The banchan here is just average....I like it more when they have the free steam egg dish. :) The BBQ meat is average too. It's a good for a group dinner they have the room and the service is nice too.

Great service (atypical for Korean restaurants, in my experience) and outstanding food with lots of banchan (small plates) available. I shared BBQ kalbi and bulgogi with a friend. Gas grills are built-into the tables and the prices are average for Korean BBQ. There are specialty dishes that are worth getting like the tofu soup. Spacious interior but dark and cavernous.

My wife and I used to eat here when It was Han Chon. We decided to give it a shot a couple of weeks ago. If you are adventurous then check out this Korean Restaurant. I recommend ordering some Korean BBQ. If you order 2 or more BBQ entrees then they will cook at the table. We ordered the marinated chicken and the Bulgogi which is a marinated steak. The food was pretty good. They only thing is our waiter spoke very little English and it was difficult to communicate what we wanted. Overall it was a nice experience.

Tried this place with some friends last night and was impressed with the menu. This place had a lot of traditional Korean dishes and one can get overwhelmed with the menu, especially when it even incorporates sushi in there. With my love of food, I don't know why last night I was not adventurous in my order; I guess I wasn't expecting to go out for dinner. Luckily my company was and they enjoyed it very much. The sided dishes started off impressive, and when they brought it out the second time, it was a bit different so we liked the variety. My Seafood Soondubu was packed in there pretty well. I didn't get an egg however like normal, but I don't know where it would have fit anyway. It wasn't however as flavored as it looked. A little subtle even for someone like me that isn't all gung ho about heavy spices. As for the others, I'm going to have to describe what they ordered as I am not familiar with the names. One ordered a Beef w/other inerts stew - she was excited to have intestine but alas, they either forgot it, or they just didn't have it. They explained that it was a different part of intestine that was described anyway and brushed it off. Points taken off for that unfortunately. Another ordered a Sweet and Sour type of breaded chicken... It basically tasted like sweet and sour chicken. Lastly, the biggest and baddest of it all was a Pork Lettuce Wrap type of thing. It included some raw oysters, and pickled/spice radish. Pork, Radish and Lettuce = good. Oysters... didn't do it for me. Of course, we all went home stuffed, as usual.

We have gone to this place a few times and every time the service is good. The place is nice and clean. The food is good. No complaints. The only thing I would like to say to the staff is when you bring out the little plates of food before the meal tell us what they each are so those with allergies or restrictions can be aware. Other Korean places do this and it's nice. Not a complaint but a suggestion!!! Everything brought out is yummy and the staff is friendly. Check it out!!!

We all have default places that we go to, some out of habit, others because, there are no other places like it. Kind of like going to Mom's apartment for Thanksgiving. Beawon is a default place for us. Close to home, this large, often smokey, Korean restaurant is where we take family and Asian friends partly because there aren't many good Chinese restaurants in South Jersey. My kids really go for the seafood pajun (eggy pancakes filled with squid, clams and scallions) and the Chapchae, a gingered stir fry of bean threads, scallions and pork. I find the pajun a bit too greasy and soggy, but if the kids will eat it, then I usually go for it. Until recently, they served sushi. Of course, when we invite guests, we usually get the BBQ Kalbi, which are grill at the table beef short ribs wrapped in romaine, raw garlic and sweet/hot bean paste. Good stuff. I like the Soondoobu, a spicy casserole of tofu, seafood and a raw egg that gets mixed in at table side. Our last visit there was strange. I suppose that the overly eager waiter was trying to be helpful, but saddly it was annoying. Noting that we were Chinese, he tried to steer us to the more "safe" menu items. Now I will admit, that I probaly do order things that Koreans will likely avoid, but I was bewildered when he tried to discourage me from ordering Soondoobu Jigae, a fairly standard dish. A little annoyed that it did not come with the raw egg. But I will return as long as the dearth of Chinese resturants continues.

I was meeting some friends here, and on my way over I looked up the Yelp rating. Yikes! With just three stars I was preparing for a pretty mediocre lunch. I ordered the hot bowl with rice and all the veggies and the fried egg, but asked if I could have tofu instead of the beef. Even though the menu didn't mention anything about a veg option, the waiter was totally cool about it. The miso soup was warm and yummy and the little appetizer things in the bowls were really good too. There was something that I think may have been toasted kale that was especially good, and the kimchi was really good too. Not too spicy, which is a plus for me. My bowl was really good too. I finished pretty much the whole thing. This is usually what I order at Korean places, and I find that sometimes it's pretty bland. Here, though, there were good flavors and it was just right on the salt. It wasn't the best one I've ever had, but I would definitely come back here again. Oh, and they have TVs!

Amazing service. Friendly, sincere, and attentive. Food - Could be (much) better. Soondobu jjigae is a very popular menu item and therefore hard to go wrong with but somehow they made my mom ask for salt. Bland. My spicy kalbitang on the other hand was so over the top spicy that I kept turning to my rice. I loved how they bring out rice in the little stone bowls. The waiter was really cute when he brought me white rice and my mother brown/bean rice without having to ask. The interior is also spacious and clean. Would definitely return for a meal before hanareum shopping.

I've been here twice, probably in the past year or so. Food was always just ok. Soondubu was bland and lacked spice. Kungpoon Saewoo (deep fried shrimp) was overcooked. They tried to fix it for us but was still overdone. Banchan was actually good. For south jersey, I thought it was a bit pricy too. There are other korean restaurants in the area at a better value.

I usually will not write a review until I've visited a place on numerous occasions. Beawon has never failed us. I first brought my newborn there almost 2 years ago and we were immediately seated after the host had asked us if we wanted a regular seat or a table with the grill. Why would we dream of going to korean bbq and not enjoy the aromas of fresh marinated bulgogi grilled right before our eyes. So yes.... we opted for the grill. On the numerouos times we have visited we are almost if not soon greeted with many little sight delightful and aromatic bowls filled with banchan. We tend to dig into the banchan as if we were starving kids from ethiopia (no offense if any is taken). The banchan is always kept filled, I don't think we've ever left this place with an empty banchan bowl to be in fact. We usually get the galbi or the bulgogi, 2 helpings. The waitress will cook the food in front of you. They will not monitor your meat so it's not like you'll have this odd person standing next to your table while you're trying to conversate with your partner. Our waitress always left and would come back when she thought the food was ready enough to be cut. I like the laced fat in the meat. If anyone doesn't know yet, the fat in meat is where most of the flavor is, it's the only way to get a real success in a flavorful dish. I've tried their bibimbap, jjigae and Nakji Bokkeum and they've always been excellent. The bonus.. when we first went our son was a newborn. Newborns tend to sleep, pretty much all the time in their first 4 months of life. Well he woke up, the waitress coo'ed and awed over him, even fed him to give us some time to hurry up and eat. The next time we went he was 11 months old, just learning to walk, after he finished eating he thought it was time to play now and who cares if mom and dad were done, out of no where the waitress came and took him to look out the window and played with him so we can hurry up and eat again! and just recently we took him he was 20 months old. Same thing. He ate, finished, could not wait for us so decided to pitch a fit, our superhero of a waitress came out and took him into the karaoke room to show him the cool motion and sound activated lights they had going on in there. He loved it, it gave us a chance to eat again and we could see him playing in the karaoke room so lets just say beawon will always be a great place for us to eat, we truly are very grateful for the waitresses who've let us eat without fear of choking from inhaling our food. :o)

Be aware that the reviews you read are from a while ago. There is a new owner and new policies. A handwritten sign proclaims "no sushi" and the work "permanently" has been added. The waitress explained that the new owner doesn't want to offer sushi. One of our party ordered chicken breast and weas informed it is now offered only very spicy (again, because the new owner wants it that way). Needless to say, we'll never go back. Food is OK but prices are now too high considering the food and ambiance. Maybe, when this owner goes broke, the new new owner will realize that you need to give customers what they want, not what you like.
