I wasn't impressed with the look of the place when we first entered - it looked like many home-grown generic restaurants, although the German accents are cute. The menu's are fairly large and center around their large bakery. There is a good selection of food, from sandwiches & wraps to breakfast and seafood. I had the fish & chips - fried cod and fries. I swear it was the best cod I have *ever* had. The bakery is nice too and there's a fairly wide selection of desserts, breads, pies, and other goodies. You generally get up and find something from the bakery if you want to eat it in and of course, there's always take-out ;-) Nice place and I'm sure I'll go back!

We used to enjoy brunch here but had a few bad service experiences. Wanting to give them another chance, I called to inquire about their menu and dietary questions. The manager informed me that "the customer should know what's restricted, not the staff, and we can't know what's vegan. But for gluten free, we can do things like leave off the hollandaise..." Really? It's been a while since I made hollandaise but I've never used flour... We likely will not be back unless they make some serious changes and educate managers/staff.

I had the crab benedict and it was the bomb. The cinnamon roll was amazing as well. #goodthingscomefromsysco

My first negative review :( I am from California and haven't seen my parents in a long time so we figured to go here to catch up for lunch. The waitress wasn't around much and both orders came out wrong. We only sent one back, and only because one of the ingredients was an allergy issue (otherwise we would eat through it). Long story short, the dish had to go back three times (never had this happened to me). Not even an I'm sorry from anyone. I did try to lighten the moment and laughed with the waitress and asked "please don't let the chef spit in this". After a good chuckle, my now correct order came back with a short, thick hair (pick below). We ended up paying full price for the ticket, as the young manager told us it was our fault. Thanks wheatfields :D

Service wasn't great today for one and for two they have raised their prices! $7.99 for a kids menu item! And it doesn't include a drink or side!! I thought they were pricey before, but at least it included a drink! All items are $2 more! I had a $31 lunch bill for my daughter and I and that was before tip! They charged me $3 for a kids milk! Holy smokes I was mad!!! Just a heads up...they are overpriced! It's a shame too...no other restaurants you can walk to in shadow lake...won't surprise me if they are the next to close!

I've enjoyed several meals here over the last few years, especially the bakery, but service and quality have steadily been declining over the past few months. The wait staff seems to have changed over to all young kids who are not very knowledgable and seem to be just standing around more often than not, my past few times here. Today just took the cake though, $11 for half a waffle and milk for my 2 year old!!! The prices are crazy especially for their kid's menu. The plain half waffle was 8 bucks and did not include a side or drink. Also interesting to note, the manager acknowledged the prices are high, but said that was the owner's decision to raise all prices. My family will not be coming back to dine in. I can go to a dozen other restaurants in the same area and feed my children for under $5 with a main dish, side and drink. The food was good, but not worth the price.

Good food, horrible service. Who is in charge here? Waited for a table/server for about 15 minutes when there were servers just standing around. Finally just seated ourselves and just ordered at the counter. Then got a waitress who loudly complained that there were no tables open when I saw at least five open just around us. There are currently eight people standing at the counter just waiting to be helped as three employees are socializing. Again, who is in charge of the service?

I have been coming here since the location opened. I've brought business associates, had family parties, and many early - morning breakfasts with my mom and dad...so, I was TRULY DISAPPOINTED by the horrible food we had today. The scrambled egg whites were hot, but very greasy, as were the hash browns, which my husband said were the worst he'd ever tasted. When we asked the server for new, better ones, she came back from the kitchen and reported, "they said there's nothing they can do about the hash browns...sorry!" Really? I know it's a little thing...but, if you don't respect the feedback a of a longtime customer, then that is a symptom of a larger issue. Bottom line....super-expensive food that was horrible.

Have only had their breakfast food, highly recommend the "5am French farmer!" I have been to the wheatfields downtown, that one doesn't have hash browns! What the heck?? Anyways, this one does, also the service is way better. The manager (name is Jim) always comes when you're close to the end of your meal and asks how everything is. Old fashioned, but I love that he does that. Service has almost always been great as well. People there have always been very pleasant.

I continue to go back and forth on Wheatfields. And I will say that location definitely seems to make a difference... the downtown one I'm still okay with but I don't think I'll be back to this or the west one. Bill and I ordered a benedict (I forget the actual name) with steak and pesto... perhaps too bold of a move for Wheatfields, but I wasn't too hungry and we were splitting it. Turns out the flank steak or whatever showed up was not a smart choice as it was way too chewy compared to the eggs and muffin that accompanied it. Also, pesto and hollandaise do not seem to be on good terms with one another.

Wheatfields, as far as brunch goes, never disappoints. They always have seasonal specials, which are quite difficult to pass up, and to be honest are usually worth the try. They are one of the few places that are offer a decent breakfast/brunch menu in the Bellevue/Papillion area that allow for alcoholic beverages during brunch (bloody mary's for a Saturday late morning starter? yes please!). If you come later in the morning will say I've run into the problem, more often than not that they become awkwardly out of their seasonal specials for the day-- so get on it and get there before 10am if you are truly interested in that. In the later summer, I recommend their Peach Flings, thank me later :) Their service used to be hit or miss, but I would say in the last 6 months (June 2013 onward) I've never experienced a bad time/super slow service. I think it's something they have definitely improved on lately, and it has made a difference. Wheatfields is a "go to" for a lazy Saturday morning brunch spot, a yummy mimosa and meal where I'm not counting calories....cuz damn they love to put hollandaise on everything it seams like, which isn't always a good thing for the waistline. Also of note, salads are tasty and their deserts are simply wonderful.

I dig this place. They have breakfast all day. The menu is super-huge and that's nice for people with special needs. There are approximately 812 vegetarian items on the menu (or something like that). The veggie burger is a homemade patty with a lot of grains (instead of veggies and legumes) and so it falls apart, but that's alright if you're ok with looking like an animal while you eat. :) The bun it comes on is super-good too. I've had the following butterbuns: deviled egg salad, fried egg, and cheesy eggplant. They're all ok, but with a menu that huge, don't stick with something that's just ok. The Mother Earth Veggie Wrap is a good choice, but the breakfasts are a better choice. I hear from the hubs that the fried chicken is amazing. They used to have the most amazing sandwich in the world: the Mr. Green Jeans. I make it at home now that Wheatfields got rid of it! (Marble bread, pesto, grilled asparagus, munster cheese, broiled & served open-faced with a tomato on top. Heaven. You should make it, too.) Thank you for the inspiration, Wheatfields! Be warned: the Russian hashbrowns are hashbrowns with sour cream on them (blech!). One more thing: Wheatfields, what's up with the teeny tiny glasses? Super-annoying. And I bet it's even more annoying to the servers!

Not only was the dish over-cooked... But when asked 'How is you meal?' and replying, 'Overcooked'; I was told,'Oh'. THE END! Extremely disappointed.

The breakfast menu has many tasty choices, and the staff are very pleasant. In fact, our waitress Mara was very helpful and personable.

Their food is standard midwest (or great plains for you geography snobs) comfort food. It's heavy on the proteins and starches (and rich sauces/gravies) and thus also heavy on the calories. So, someone who prefers their food a little heavier on the veggies and lighter on the calories will find most of the menu not to their liking. If you're usually found ordering a vegan entree at your favorite Thai restaurant, then you're probably not going to be impressed with Wheatfields. However, if you're someone who enjoys a "meat and potatoes" kind of diet and you're willing to pay a bit more to have more variety and food that is made from scratch more than is typical, then this is your place. I also enjoy their baked goods. Their Caramel Pecan Rolls are amazing. I rarely have room in tummy after eating here to enjoy their baked goods, but I make it a point to get some to go to enjoy later. Service has always been friendly. At worst, they're sometimes stretched a bit thin, but that is more a reflection of the restaurant's ownership (skimping on their labor cost) and the local labor market. The wait staff has always been friendly and I'm a guy that likes to "bust their chops" and mess around with my servers and they all take it in good humor. I was pleased when Shadow Lake Towne Center opened and I heard a Wheatfields was coming to Sarpy County. Previously, you had to drive to One Pacific Place to enjoy Wheatfields and that was never convenient for me. So, bravo on the Sarpy County location!

This place was awesome .......loved it. Especially the friendly service after a long day of traveling

Worst service ever. Waited at least 10-12 minutes just to be noticed after being seated. Then a whole 50 minutes till we got our food. My wife's order was wrong, her drink tasted like dish soap, and our server stopped over maybe 2 twice during the whole thing. The manager had to back him up. Then we waited almost another 20 minutes just to pay. It's a shame too because the food is always good. However good food is always tainted by sour service.....

I decided to give them another try, and was disappointed again. I wanted to try some kind of creme brûlée and almond waffle and asked to substitute two strips of bacon for two eggs, and she said it would be a $1.00 up-charge. I told the waitress that I can't eat meat and I know eggs cost less than bacon and asked why it was so much. This did not make ANY sense to me or the other guest with me. I didn't get an answer as to why I'd be charged more... so instead, I ended up spending $10.00 for two eggs over easy, some hashbrowns, and two pieces of very crunchy and borderline-burnt toast. The jelly was the only thing extraordinary about the meal. I will be going to Village Inn or some place more consistent and worth the money from here on out if I decide to grab brunch again.

Everything is amazing. If you don't enjoy this place then you are the anti-Christ. Seriously, each time that you go, get yourself a muffin and a big iced cinnamon as an appetizer to your breakfast. You can't go wrong with this place!

This place had a good staff with average food not worth really worth revisiting over other places in the area. I give the food 2 stars and the staff 4.

This place used to be awesome. Then they started cutting corners to save money. They changed their glass sizes, just ended up making more work for the server to refill my glass more often. Used to go every weekend, the turnover rate for servers is pretty bad. Food is very good, but its gotten more expensive for less food. They make their omelets way smaller than they used to be. You still get good food though. Love their breakfast items. Their honey chicken is pretty good too. Great bakery. It can get loud with the sound of people talking.

Huge menu, lots of desserts. Service was good. Omelets were flavorful, peach and raspberry muffins were good and my daughter loves the pancakes. I had the Corn and Crabcake Salad with a sweet/sour vinaigrette, served with mixed greens, black eyed peas, and a spicy Arizona aioli on the crabcakes. Nice and tasty. Very fresh and filling. Check out the menu before you go in order to get an idea of what you would like.....so many choices.

Amazing Carrot cake. Prices are too high.

Went there this morning with parents. Decent service. Friendly wait staff. Food combos were "different" but taste was nothing special. I had French toast layered with eggs and ham. Unusual presentation, but ordinary taste. I asked for the cheese in the side and had 2-1/2 slice Velveeta beside the rest of my food. Would have been more appetizing to just skip the cheese all together. Pastries looked good, but didn't try any. My main complaint about the place was price of drinks. Coffee and tea were both $3.59. That included refills for coffee, but not tea. That's basically latte/smoothie prices here in the Midwest. Three breakfasts with one beverage each was $46. So that seemed a bit on the expensive side for a place like this where the food is average.

Holy cinnamon rolls! We used Wheatfields to help cater a baby shower for my cousin. We had GIANT cinnamon rolls with AMAZING frosting. These were definitely the hit of the baby shower. Their service was very good and they executed our order perfectly. Overall we had a very good experience.

Been here 3 times so far and enjoyed every bite!

Desert was amazing. Eggplant dish was disgustingly greasy. The variety of deserts was incredible. Even had a good kids menu.

I had the Ribs and Chicken and a Blue Moon. Service was a tad slow but who cares when you are in good company. :) Support staff was very helpful and refilled drinks and got us to-go boxes. Really enjoyed our time there and our waiter, Tim, was great.

The thing about Wheatfields is it tries way to hard to please everyone. The premise is a Panera on overdrive. The menu is way to big-I have to wonder how much turnover Wheatfields has in the kitchen area. Seriously, the same kitchen is making ribs and hollandaise sauce all at once. Find something the kitchen and staff is good at and stick with it. My experience was the quiche special for lunch. The quiche crust was flaky, well cooked and seasoned very well. The raspberry muffin, amazing as usual. But the tomato salad was basically iceberg lettuce with a tomato. Wheatfields has an awesome bakery, which is why I am drawn back time and again. I cannot find a huge raspberry pie of equal quality for $7.77 in KC. The baked goods are worth stocking up on when I am in town. It is kind of weird for a KC girl to see Panera with booze, which is what Wheatfields basically is on the dining side of the house. My advice, pare down the menu, and keep up the amazing bakery side of the house.

The choices on the menu are huge. Makes you think about how fresh the food really is. The food was alright. Seem like a fancy version of a north east diner. A bit over priced but the portions are large. A great place to bring the grandparents. Jasmine was our server, she did a great job.
