Not consistent. Today I arrived and indicate I would only be 1 since the wife was working. Host said it would only be a couple of minutes. I sat and watched as groups of 3 and 4 were seated before me and they had arrived after me. The restaurant was busy, but did not have a line out the door type of thing. After 20 minutes and I got feed up and left. I went out to the 180 and Center location. Better service, cleaner, food tastes better. I think the wait staff at both locations are a hard working group. Will not be back to this location.

Village Inn's food is on par with Denny's and iHop-- so expect an almost identical menu to those chains, and prices are in that neighborhood as well. The service at this particular Village Inn is horrible, and it has a reputation of that around this part of town......so take you booty down to the location off of west center road where it's the same fare, but 100x better service, trust me that extra mileage to get treated like a human being is worth it!

It's worth pointing out that VI has undergone a face lift at this location and it's for the better. We still enjoy going here for a quick meal and great service. Be warned that Wednesday evenings are a bit of a train wreck - the service is really slow and the servers have a permanent panicked look on their face - because everyone is there for free pie. Sometimes it's worth it - sometimes it's not.

I honestly would have given this VI one star due to the horrible service we received. Our waitress talked to us one time, after we waited for her to take our pie order at the end of the meal. She was confused and unfriendly to the rest of the patrons as well. It also took over 40 minutes to get our food, and when we did they said they would be back with another food item we had ordered and they never came back. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars is because their manager, Al, who was extremely attentive to all of us, even taking our orders and bringing our drinks when our waitress was MIA. I would come back just due to how awesome he was, but whoever was supposed to be waiting on us should've taken the night off.

Our first choice for breakfast this morning was Jimmy's Egg but the line was nearly out the door. Not wanting to wait, we headed down Maple street to Village Inn. We were seated immediately. After a few minutes, I ordered a create your own omelette with sausage, onions, and tomatos. Combined with the hash browns and the pancakes, it was way too much for me to finish. My wife ordered the strawberry crepes, bacon, and hash brown. The meal was on par with all of the other breakfasts I've had at Village Inn. The food is never exceptional but it's good enough and sometimes, that's ok. Our server, Angela was pleasant and professional. She stood out among the others.

This is our first time back at village inn in two years and it sadly will be our last. We had high hopes for them and what we ordered sounded great but highly disapointed. We called and ordered for a carry out order. They took our order and said it would be ready in 12 minutes. My husband got there and waited in a huge mess of people to be helped. He paid right away and then waited for about 30 to 45 minutes before he asked for our food. A woman who seemed to be of a higher position grabbed our food and asked who had checked him out and that was about it. After he drove away I reminded him to check our food to see if it was cold, it was. He turned around and asked for new food. They did that for us, they refunded one of the meals, and even upgraded the size of a chili we ordered but she seemed irritated about it all. (I think they should have checked the freshness before even giving it to a customer) After he got home we started eating. He had the ultimate skillet, he thought it was okay but once he got to his eggs he did not finish the food. The eggs were completely undercooked they looked like snot. I'm sorry but it was disgusting. I had strawberry and cream crepes. They tasted fine but they had barely any cream in them at all! I was very sad about that. The hash browns were good, they had quite a buttery taste which I liked. The chili was awful. It had corn in it which I found odd, and it was cold. Needless to say it got tossed after about 3 bites. Also it was packed up in a coffee cup, I've never seen that before. Not a good experience at all. Like I said before I did appreciate the refund and willingness to remake the food without a fight, but the lack of cream in the crepes and the raw eggs in my husband's food, along with the whole mess at the restaraunt in general will always draw me away from this place now.

Gave 2 stars since food was good and hot..went for late breakfast, but the service stunk. Seated immediately, 10 minutes later, ABSOLUTELY NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from the server. I spotted the manager, I guess, coming back towards the register, and waved my arms like a crazy person..and I said rather loudly..10 minutes, and no service?!?! Server Did appear right after that. Always irks me to give my drink order at the same time as food order, cuz you never know if they'll ever come back. Food showed up fairly soon, however, server said our pancakes weren't to her satisfaction, she had them re-make them. Over 5 minutes to get replacement pancakes. Upon leaving after our meal, said manager was close by...told him no excuse for not being acknowledged for 10 minutes...servers seem to hide out in the kitchen area, ignoring the dining area. Our server had 4-5 tables...1-3 people at the tables, not big groups, packed house! She made 2 trips, bring drink orders, plus another, where she made eye contact, but not so much as "I'll be right with you". There's a couple of very excellent servers in this location, however, that wasn't the case today. VERY POORLY MANAGED!!

Went to have a late dinner and a slice of free pie. I had the breakfast skillet which was very good. They give you enough that you can actually spilt it between two people. I ordered an apple pie it was very tarty I ordered some ice cream to go with it and that did not help. I know some people enjoy tarty apples but I don't. I will have to try another kind of pie next time.

As far as village inns go, the food is the same. The problem with this place is it's always packed, and can take forever compared to other village inn locations.
