I really enjoy the pizza and the beer is cold. The place is a bit worn, but seems ok for families and if you want to watch a game on one of there TV's. A note of caution, if you call ahead to see if they will have a game on, be careful they might say yes and in fact it won't be. We went in hopes of seeing an out of town Creighton game they said they would have and then didn't. What made it worse was we ordered drinks before the waitress told us they wouldn't be showing the game. Needless to say we finished one round and went to another place.

Garlic Parmesan wings are EXCELLENT! This is the best bar I found in Omaha. Great food, great bar tenders.

Good service, friendly staff and good food. If you're looking for a casual bar this is the place.

This place sucks!! Not kid friendly!! They kicked us out for having a good time!!! Instead of telling us to let other people play they just kicked us out instead! Not a good restaurant!!

If you like sports there are a crap ton of TVs. If you like to drink you found a good place plus they have tasty greasy pizza and smile face fries.

Maybe it was just an off day, but I wasn't very impressed with this place. I wanted to love it, but we ordered a Hand-tossed Combo pizza, and it just wasn't anything out of the ordinary. We ordered the XL for $18, hoping it would be so amazing that we could validate the cost, but to no avail. Tasted like every other pizza place around town. It's in the same plaza as a Papa John's, and we sorta wished we had bought a single large instead. Probably won't drive out of my way again to go here.

Some of the best NYC style Pizza in Omaha! Great Wings, Awesome Sandwiches, Drinks are great! It can get loud on weekends. I like to get food to go or have it delivered.

Deep dish meat lovers pizza is the only thing we order anymore... Also, you HAVE to get the cheese breadsticks... I don't know what the seasoning is but we call it crack... It's that addictive. I wish they served the meat lovers with a couple of Red Bulls... After eating a few pieces you'll be full... And sleepy. Don't eat one right before you have anything important to do.

One of the benefits to canceling cable is that you get to go out and have a beer anytime there is a game you want to watch on, one of the drawbacks is that you spend all the money you saved by canceling cable. Roman Coin is one of our 'oh man! the game's on' locations. I really like that they are totally cool with you waltzing in and taking up a whole table for four hours while you watch 2 different sports and surf the internet (there is free wifi too!). It is never very crowded, but the food is good and the waitstaff come around often enough to keep you happy. Their pizza is wonderful, I'll eat a whole pie myself thank you. Also, it is pretty much a requirement to get the mozzarella breadsticks. Normally, cheesy bread sticks are made by taking perfectly good bread, then broiling it with cheese until neither of the original ingredients are recognizable. Not the case here, these are quite possible the best appetizer I've ordered ever. Draw back would be the specials and non-pizza food. It seems like every time we go, coor's light is the only special. Kudos to you if you can drink Coor's light, but even at $1/bottle I don't want to drink it. Also, the burgers are 'eh' and the Italian is 'hum', so stick to pizza and you should be fine.

This is one of the tastiest pizza places you've never been to in Omaha. This location is inside the Varsity Sports Bar, which is located in a strip mall, so if you don't know that, you will drive right by it. I can't say too much for dine-in service, but it is offered. Every time I've devoured pizza from Roman Coin, it has been via carryout. I have to agree with the previous reviewer that the Meat Lover's pizza is very good (but sadly, I've never had their bread sticks, but maybe next time). You can either enjoy traditional style crust or deep-dish "Chicago" style. A MUST EAT!

I enjoy my time here. The drink prices leave something to be desired, however, the food is delicious.

One of my favorite pizza joints. The Tommy Boy is a must have for buffalo chicken and blue cheese lovers. Friendly service and good specials keep me coming back.

Very nice thin crust pizza. Definitely call ahead and/or bring a book for the wait. The Tommy Boy (buffalo chicken and ranch sauce) is surprisingly tasty.

Good pizza but busy most of the time, took an hour to deliver it.

This is some of the best pizza in town. The bar staff is always friendly and on top of their game . I also really love the fact that if you order to go it's always ready when they say it is and always is fresh. I think the longest I've ever waited was 10 min on a busy Friday night. Great breadsticks as well

We played trivia here on a Thursday night. It was a lot of fun! The guy hosting was entertaining. His mic system was really crappy and we could hardly understand him. The bar itself was a little outdated and the bathroom was so-so. We didn't eat a lot here, but I did have the Snicker's Pie and it was okay. My husband ordered a vodka gimlet, and surprisingly it was made right. They also have daily specials. I would go back for trivia.

If I'm ever in southwest Omaha and need a happy hour wing fix, I'm definitely heading back to Varsity. On my recent visit I'll admit I was fooled by its strip mall exterior. What I judged to be your typical suburban sports bar (cavernous and lacking character besides the jocks on TV) revealed itself as dark and cozy bar/restaurant with a to-go pizza operation in back. It was even a touch divey, which made me feel right at home. Even though it was a few mintues before happy hour the bartender kindly offered the discounted rate on a beer anyway -- thank you. Meanwhile, a few other day sippers -- no doubt loyal locals -- sat and talked quietly over on the other side of the wrap-around bar. But back to the wings. Upon Katie H's recommendation, I ordered six Parmesan garlic wings and six regular house wings. The Parm garlic held up, and were incredibly flavorful with a touch of rosemary. I didn't even care that they were added to the menu only after BWW did it first (at least that's what the server told me). I could live off of these things, although the doctor might think that's not such a good idea. As for the house wings, well, they were your basic hot wings minus the hot. Good but not great. Apparently this location is the original Varsity Sports Cafe and a staple of the neighborhood. Hey I'd hang out here if I lived nearby. Bonus points for having a TV in the bathroom. Even though Judge Judy was on while I was there, I know the point of the TV was to make it so patrons wouldn't miss a second of the big game. It's little quirks like that -- and good service and hot wings -- that make a place worth coming back to.

I'd give the food 5 stars, and the service about 3, so I'm settling in the middle with 4 stars today. It's tough to get a good meal on a Sunday night it seems, but that's exactly what we did last night at Varsity. The service was good, the food came out hot, and the waitress quickly accommodated all of our requests. She wasn't the friendliest waitress ever, but I can't say she was rude. My husband and I split an order of Teriyaki wings and a medium Over-Under Romano pizza with Ham. The wings were terrific as expected, with a sauce that's just sweet enough and spicy enough...perfect! The pizza was the real star of the show, it had cream cheese in it which melded perfectly with the red sauce. We also added mushroom and onion, which sent it over the top! My husband is super picky about his pizza, and even he adored it! The two layers of Romano cheese are perfect for any cheese lover! Bonus points for having the "good" ranch dressing as well, well done Varsity!

My wife and some friends and I went to Varsity for trivia last Thursday and it was a blast. We didn't try the pizza but definitely want to go back sometime to try it as all of the pizza that was coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled great. However, the pizza is extremely pricey. For a 12" Medium, it was about $16, I believe. The drinks were made well and the snickers pie was pretty dang good. I definitely want to come back to try the pizza and for some more trivia!

I've ordered their parmesan garlic wings almost every time since I first discovered them, and I feel like they are really hit or miss when it comes to the greasy factor. Would really love to have a consistent wing experience with this sauce. Pizza is always pretty decent, but the close-to-my-heart parmesan wings have been disappointing as of late. Sigh.

Great service. Ordered a large bacon cheeseburger pizza and they must've been running a special because w got an extra large for the same price. Pizza was great. Crust was excellent not doughy or crunchy

I have been here three times. I find the food average. I've had appetizers and pizza. The pizza is not that good and the cocktails were about $8 each. Since I'm not much of a beer drinker, that makes it too expensive to drink here. The service was okay twice and once we were ignored for over five minutes when they weren't even busy. PLUS we were sitting right next to the bar. They kept walking past us. I will not be returning.

All I can say is the mushrooms taste like they were straight out of a can. Perhaps I expected too much based on the glowing endorsement on and off Yelp.

If you have coupons the pizza is probably the best bang for your buck in town. It's a darn good pizza with the tommy boy being my favorite. Plain hamburger is real good too. As for the bar, it's not terrible but the alcohol is overpriced. If you're having beer at the 96th location, I recommend ordering bottles. Either the cooler doesn't work well where they store the kegs or they pour into glasses out of a hot dishwasher. Either way just get bottles..

Great Pie! Especially The Tommy Boy! It's a must try! We like all their pizza, and the four locations around town, although F Street is our favorite. The Dundee location is one of the best sports bars in town! Can't wait to go back!

I've tried almost everything on their extensive menu and gotta say their is really nothing that has been a disappointment. From pizzas to wings, from wraps to salads they have a wide variety of food to choose from. I suggest their cheeses bread, I call it crack bread (if you try it you'll see why). The tommy boy and tommy girl pizzas are also personal favorites.

When we want pizza at work we always order Varsity! We even keep a menu on hand. It's a huge plus that they deliver pretty quickly as well. The over under is a staff favorite, and if you haven't had the breadsticks yet, you're missing out. The crust is a pretty thin style, but it doesn't get crunchy, and the amount of marinara is perfect for the amount of crust and cheese. We take turns ordering pizza at work (specifically on days that are mentally rough- ever seen what valentine's day week is like for a bakery? We could probably have our own show..it's that nuts). Anyway, I think we ate varsity for a full week that week, and we never (ever) get sick of it.
