Dad and I like to get the Pad Thai here. Granted, I'm no Pad Thai aficionado, but the portions are enormous - enough for two meals, so that's a plus. I really enjoy the flavor. It gets the job done! We typically get takeout and it's ready quite promptly, so that's appreciated.

I have been going here for years. Then recently there came a new chef and management and recipes and sauces were tweaked. At first I was a bit confused and bummed. But after trying it a few times I really like the new flavors. Sure I miss the old Bangkok Beef but I also enjoy the new sauce. I also get tofu soup which they slightly redid a bit but again the flavors are so rich and delicious now. Keep in mind sometimes change is good.

When we moved to Omaha a couple years ago, I was having withdrawals from my favorite Thai places. I saw this & thought, "Perfect!" Nope. I won't go into a dissection and pick apart how every soup or dish I tried there really disappointed. Suffice it to say, it was just a big fat nope. I need to go back & try it again one more time, but well...

I was recommended to this restaurant by my parents, and I was much less than impressed. I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup, and it was gross. It wasn't spicy at all, and it was so sugary I ate about a bowl and a half just so I didn't feel bad for wasting my money, but then I had to tap out. We asked for hot sauce to spice it up, but all they had was this ketchup smelling sauce and chilli pepper flakes (and peppers, but I wanted something to heat up the broth), it helped but didn't do much for me. I then ordered the pad thai. This wasn't bad, but I have had much better pad thai experiences at other restaurants. Maybe I'm just not ordering the right menu items, but I'll be passing on this restaurant next time I'm in Omaha.

What happened??? Seriously. I used to really like this place (4 stars before). On my last visit (mid-April 2014) I couldn't have been more disappointed. The place was busy which is usually a good sign. I ordered one of my favorites here and a staple dish at most Thai restaurants, the Southern Chicken-Yellow curry chicken. I also ordered the Tom Yum Soup. First the soup. This is one of my favorite soups for the sweet n sourness of the broth from the tomatoes and lime leaves or sometimes made with pineapple and tamarind. Anyhow, that day's soup was loaded with sweetness that tasted like loads of sugar was added to the broth to speed up the process. This was a bad sign to start, but I figured ok, they're not going to mess with the Southern Chicken recipe, a very popular dish here. But, unfortunately, I was wrong. The sauce was awful. It tasted like there was way too much curry added to it and not enough coconut milk. Spice (hot) level was fine but it also tasted like they ran low on it so to fix they threw some chicken and curry together really fast without adding much coconut milk then dished it out without tasting it. In short, disappointing experience and now it's off my list for good Thai restaurants in Omaha. I'll try back in 6 months and give it another shot before its permanently crossed off...

This was our first time at Thai Spice, so my husband and I ordered a bit of everything to try. I ordered the Pepper Chicken which was really good, but my husband's Pad Thai was amazing! However, I'd have to say my favorites were the hot sour soup and the appetizer spring rolls and fried tofu. The portion sizes are pretty generous, so we had plenty to take home too. Great experience!

If you don't mind a longer than average wait and nonattentive staff, you will truly enjoy Thai Spice. Even though the seating area was less than half full, the staff were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Our water was not topped off as frequently as we'd prefer, but oh well maybe one can't have it all. Besides, we didn't come here for the water. The food was fresh and delicious from the first bite to the last. Definitely the best Thai we've found in Omaha thus far.

I love this place. They have very good food, and you can actually pick how spicy you want it on a scale of 1-10! The only reason for the 4 stars is because the wait is a little long, but it's SO worth it!

So I really wanna love this restaurant, but I keep ordering the wrong menu items, I guess? Had the pad thai the first time, spice level 5. it was good, but nothing phenomenal. Had some chicken dish with glass noodles the second time. spice level 5 or 6. Hated it. Tonight tried the southern chicken. spice level 5. the dish has potential, but im just not feeling it. Am I doing something wrong here? Maybe I should try a 3 or 4 level spice? Or any dishes that someone absolutely cannot live without? I want to love this place, I'm just thinking I'm doomed not to.

They don't serve Thai food! Everything was too sweet. I tried the pad Thai and Tom ka Kai and I felt like i was drinking sugar

On a search for a great pad Thai, Thai Spice was one of the restaurants I tried. In short, it wasn't great. In fact, I ordered it to go and threw most of it away. However, my friend ordered a curry type of noodle, and that I thought was delicious. Therefore, maybe this is not a fair review (especially since I was looking for something specific) but my dish was unimpressive. Will have to try it again sometime, avoid the pad thai--I have hope for this place!

We have always enjoyed Thai Spice. A good friend of ours (MAG) , LOVES Thai Spice and introduced us. Being a creature of habit, I typically order the Drunk Noodles, which are awesome. I also love the Tom Kai Gai and the spring rolls. The service is good and the prices reasonable. I think they do an incredible carryout business.

Thai Spice is on our regular restaurant rotation. We usually order carry-out, which is always carefully packaged and quickly prepared. Portions are very generous - we get at least two servings out of every entree. The food is alway prepared with fresh, tasty ingredients. We've never had a bad meal here.

I went here a couple of weeks ago with some friends for lunch. The food was great, nice and spicy! The service was prompt and friendly, and the facility was very well kept. Definately someplace to go when you need some Thai in Omaha.

I have been to this place several times. They have always done a great job. Food was fast, hot, and appealing in every way. Service was excellent. I love great food and this place never disappoints. I like my food spicy hot. This place is really about the quality of the food. Great lunch place.

this place is a little hidden in the corner of the baker's plaza off 156th and dodge, but when i got there, i was very pleased with what i received as food. its just as good as the one on 108th and maple and I know people rave about it. there are a lot of returning customers and i was told to check it out. i god their southern chicken which was this thick curry with green peppers, potatoes, and onions. great with a side of rice. and the service was extremely nice and inviting. they always seem under managed but always get the work done. definitely am going back for more

I stopped in for lunch, I ordered crab Rangoon thai iced tea and an entrée I planned on taking home. I tried the garlic chicken. all were very tasty. the restaurant has ample parking and is clean and comfortable. server was attentive and made sure I had what I needed. my favorite dish I had both in Los Angeles and Kansas city that is thai stir fry is meat usually sliced beef or pork in a garlic and black pepper sauce with fried garlic and usually green onions over cabbage and rice. I love this dish. Mongolian beef is its nearest cousin. I can eat this dish multiple times a week and have. I have tried to make it myself and well.. its better in a restaurant. the Omaha thai restaurant menu's don't specifically have this dish on it but i'm trying everything with the words "garlic sauce" . Thai spice's was good. I liked their chicken. I like that they are very close too. the crab Rangoon were good and I really liked the dipping sauce. will try their crispy egg rolls next.

My first time trying out Thai Spice as I called Gold Mountain numerous times but kept getting the answering machine, oh well, my gain. Since Thai Spice is close I thought it sounded good from all the other reviews. Having never ordered Thai food, I went with the basic Pad Thai and their Thai version of hot and sour soup. I have to say I was very impressed with both. Big portions (which for me is a must) and the flavor was spot on. I am somewhat of a wimp and went with a spice level 3 on the Pad Thai and for me it worked. Lots of flavor in both dishes, the only complaint was that both were somewhat sweet but that may be a Thai thing. Nevertheless, I ate it all. The to go box and soup container were packed nicely and no spills occurred on the trek home. I will be putting Thai Spice on my rotation as I need to try a few more things on the menu, like drunken noodles.

Great place in the neighborhood! We have been here several times and love every visit!!! The food is always outstanding and flavorful!! Each distinct flavor comes through and the ingredients are so fresh!! The kids love the Pad Thai and we love the drunken noodles. We also love the curry!!! Each time we get excellent service too. It seems they do a great carry-out service as well.

Excellent Thai in Omaha. They are always delicious fast and courteous service.they have rating system for spiciness 1-10. We normally get a 4 or a 5 anything higher is pretty spicy.

I have been going to thai spicing under the assumption that everything is freshly made. However, on my fifth time there, i realized i was served microwaved food. I am certain that their curry takes at least 10 minutes to cook. However, i received mine in 4. Not to mention i was the only customer that night. When i took it home on a 10 minute drive, it was scalding hot when i put it on a plate. Plus the plastic cup that they served their curry was warped from being microwaved on blast. Not only was the realization that my food was being microwaved (because i was the only customer at night) disappointing, but it was extremely inconvenient when they hastily served my take out in a cracked container. This resulted in a plastic bag fully of microwaved curry sauce.... Be warned... Service is good when they want to give it to you. If they're in a good mood maybe they will cook your food. But if its convenient, they will just blast it in a microwave.
