This was a great find for me! Went to lunch, had an awesome salad and great service. Will definitely go back!

I went there for lunch o see if it was a place to take my wife to on Mother's Day. I ordered a the Pork Filet Sandwich on a Pretzel Roll and it was delivered within 10 min. It was delicious. The only issue I had was with my server, ounce he brought my food, he never came back to check on me as to how I liked the food or if I need anything else. Even when served the table next to me he said nothing. I am still giving it a 4 star rating because this one server's actions take nothing away from the quality of the food. On Friday I tried to get reservation for Mother's Day and they were completely booked. I will be taking her there in a couple of weeks and I will post another review that I expect will be more favorable than this one.

A great little restaurant. Our neighbor turned us on to this place a couple years ago. In a pretty unassuming strip mall at 120th and Blondo. The inside is cozy (not quite casual, and not quite upscale) and the waitstaff was very friendly. Started out with a Moscow Mule, and my wife had a nice glass of red wine. I had the Pork Au Poivre with mashed potatoes and green beans. The presentation was very nice, the pork was juicy and flavorful with peppercorns sprinkled over it, the green beans cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes were amazing! Overall a very nice meal out. Definitely a place to try!

One of the best simple meals in town might be the steak and frites here. for about $15 you get some darn good eats and have a little coin left over. My medium rare was perfect... I was mopping the drippings off my plate with bread! Everything here seems to have a little Italian twist, as well. So if that your thing you'll like it even more.

Great breakfast!!! They were pretty packed on Sunday. We sat at the bar. Waiter was great. We were in and out in 30 minutes. I had an egg white asparagus omelette. It was to die for! We would return! (Next time I would opt for not sitting at end of bar otherwise would of given five stars).

I have been to Taxi's a couple times now and each time I have left thinking I need to get here more often! Last night (a Tuesday), my friend and I arrived for an early dinner at 6:30 and found ourselves there not only in time for a "5-7 Special" but also on half priced bottles of wine night! The 5-7 Special allows you to get one of their entrees with a salad and dessert for the same price as just getting an entree and salad. So it was indeed a nice surprise! I opted for the Caesar salad, Grilled Salmon & Sour Cream Pound Cake. The Caesar was delicious! It had bacon on it! I mean really? Who does that to an already delicious plate? They do and it makes it even more awesome! Side note: the Caesar was dressed perfectly--not drenched and not overly dry. My grilled salmon was cooked to perfection and came with asparagus & pesto risotto. It was phenomenal. By the time I cleared my plate, I was too full for dessert, so I asked for it in a box which they happily did. When I did get around to trying it, it was also very good, though I may opt for the Brownie Sundae next time. My friend has also gotten the salmon and enjoyed it as well. She got the Wedge salad however after getting the recommendation. Unfortunately, they will not do a wedge with the 5-7 Special so she had to order the entree and the salad with no dessert. But she was happy she did! She said adding the bacon is a must! Also--she is not a big bleu cheese fan, but said it was light and just right. Overall, I love this place! I just wish it was closer to my side of town so I could go more often!

We finally made it to Taxis after a few recommendations. It's real close to the house so we really wanted to give it a shot. Enjoyed my meat loaf, rice & roasted vegetables. Portions for each were rather small but tasty. The Wedge salad was weak (dressing) & also a small portion. Soup or salad was not included with the entrees. My bettwr half had the Grilled Salmon & wasnt impressed as she said it was rather dry. We weren't greeted by the waitress with more than what do you want to drink. She (Abby) was short in patience &, was rushed & had attitude throughout our experience. There was no attempt to make a connection on her part. I'd pass on a return visit if she was our waitress. What a sour puss she was.

I have never eaten inside, so I can literally only speak for the food but WOW! I dream about a dish that I had from Taxis, and do so pretty frequently. It was super simple, but super delicious. It was a pasta dish with peppers, onions and green olives. So simple, so fresh, and so crave-worthy! Wish I was closer because I would be there once a week!! Delicious!

My husband and I moved to Omaha a year ago. He's a foodie, and I have become one by default. We saw a recommendation for this restaurant on a local blog with the claim "Healthy Doesn't Mean Boring" and "Blowing Taste Buds Out of Your Mouth." This stood out since I am always looking for healthy places. We went for my birthday, and seriously we were not disappointed. We ordered two apps--the crab cakes and poke--and the two specials of the night which were a pork chop and the swordfish. 1. Seriously the best crab cakes in town with a TON of crab and little filler. 2. The poke actually tasted better than what we had in San Francisco in October! (How is this possible in a landlocked state?) 3. The pork chop was juicy and delicious. The risotto was creamy and freakin yummy! 4. The swordfish was my husband's favorite. Cooked perfectly. And in this town I think he was beginning to wonder if anyone knew how to cook fish properly. We already had plans for dessert that night or we would have stayed. Next time, Taxi's, next time... :) Also a note that our server was a delightful person and an excellent server. Our glasses were always filled--she was on top of everything. Also she informed us that apps are half price after 9:00pm. I think it is their way to draw in a younger crowd. They definitely hooked us. We will be going back again real soon!

Taxi's is one of my favorite spots for brunch. It's similar to Mantra, but slightly more upscale. Normally, I choose the grand marnier French toast, which is scrumptious. Today I had the pumpkin pecan waffle (seasonal offering) with breakfast potatoes. It was really good, on the sweet side, so be prepared for that if you order. The service was good and friendly, an all around nice brunch experience.

I ate here with my husband and my parents on a Thursday night. We were promptly seated and our drinks were quickly delivered to the table. Our waitress was friendly and told us the specials and answered the questions we had about the menu. I chose the crab cake salad. The crab cakes were fairly unremarkable but the other ingredients in the salad were so incredibly delicious that they more than compensated. My mother ordered the red snapper special and said it was one of the best meals she had ever had at a restaurant. My dad also stated that his walleye special was exceptional and my husband really enjoyed his steak. For dessert we tried the creme brulee and the brownie sundae. The menu stated that the creme brulee was served with fresh strawberries but only came with one small strawberry half on the plate. This wasn't a big deal though because it was still delicious. My dad said the brownie was the best brownie he had ever tasted (which encompasses a lot of brownies). We can't wait to go back and try their Sunday brunch! One suggestion: I didn't realize that this restaurant was on the nicer side before we went. While they do not have a dress code that I could see, gentlemen will probably want to wear a collared shirt if they do not want to feel out of place or underdressed.

Comfort food cooked perfectly. You can't tell from the outside, but this place qualifies as fine dining to me. Will be back!

Slow service, decent brunch selection and clean if a bit dated atmosphere. I was pretty excited to check out this place even more excited that my husband, the breakfast hater, actually wanted to go out for brunch. The selection of benedicts was nice, which I think is a nice indicator of a good brunch place. Not a huge selection of brunch drinks, but maybe I have been spoiled by Lot 2. I ordered a bloody mary and the Blackstone Eggs. My husband tried out the coffee and the Eggs St. George. The bloody mary was a nice, classic bloody mary and not too salty which I can appreciate. The coffee was sadly just a step above diner coffee, and when he got a refill the second batch actually watered down the coffee in the cup more then before. We had a hunch that some grounds might have been reused. The brunch food took a while to come out, we got in about 12:30pm but didn't get our food till 1:15pm. The Blackstone Eggs had great bacon on them, but just normal hollandaise which was disappointing because I was looking forward to the jalapeno hollandaise version. The Eggs St. George were well done, but had tiny salad shrimp and not very much crab. Overall just an OK brunch place, if service had been a bit better and had some better coffee it would have jumped from a 3 to 4 stars.

Taxis is a must for lunch whenever I visit Omaha. The seared tuna nachos and crab salad is to die for. My lunch companions had the meatloaf and a chicken sandwich. I got to sample the meatloaf and it was very good. The chicken sandwich with avocado and chipotle Mayo was inhaled by my other companion. I've been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. Next time I've got to try their breakfast. They can get crowded at lunch so early or late is best. Service has never been an issue and price = the quality/value.

Worst service ever. When the waitress asked for our drink order and we didn't have a decisive decision that moment she cut us off and said she'd come back - but didn't for at least 10 minutes. Took even longer for the drinks to arrive. When we were about to order she asked if we wanted to hear the specials first - but was rude about it. Then we waited well over an hour for the food to come while nearby tables filled with new customers who got their food before us. She finally comes and tells us the kitchen lost our ticket but the food will be there soon. At this time we'd been there an hour and a half and she brought a few slices of bread to 'tide us over'. Repeat drink orders never arrived (but managed to end up on our closing ticket). We were offered free dessert for our trouble - no manager came to apologize. The food was amazing but not worth waiting for and enduring rude and neglectful service for. We won't be back.

Taxi's is the best neighborhood restaurant in Omaha. Brunch, lunch or dinner. We try every new place in Omaha and never find any place with consistently excellent food, consistently excellent service, good bartending and good wine knowledge. They've been doing it since the Neon Goose in the 70's and 80's and since YoYo's Grill in the 90's. That is rare in Omaha unless you only sell steak. Taxi's new menu is great. Walleye is unbeatable, dinner specials are always great. Fish, chicken, beef, pork, it's all in good hands at Taxi's. You'll see an older crowd and early bird specials but that is because people have followed them around for decades. Right as rain. The new host/manager makes you feel comfortable right away when you arrive. Servers are great and know how to make every dinner special. Don't leave without ordering dessert. Sour cream pound cake, OMG. It is nice to grab dinner anytime and always be impressed.

This place is a hidden gem. SO INSANELY GOOD! This is the first time in so long that I had a freak out over how good my food was. We both got caesar salads to start (caesar salads can be blah but there was nothing at all ordinary about the flavor) and also both got the salmon. The risotto with the salmon was the best I ever had! I can't wait to eat here again.

Such an unassuming place with a tremendous menu. It is such a travesty that I happened upon it late during my trip. Hopefully I am able to visit Omaha again next year. However, I am grateful that I am able to have brunch on my last day here. I had the salmon eggs benedict. Perfectly poached eggs! Hard to do in a restaurant...trust me I have ordered many that have come out hard boiled. Great place!

We just had brunch at Taxi's this past weekend (again) because my in-laws love it. I've tried breakfast items, salads and lunch/dinner entrees. Yet, their food has not cultivated the feelings of love and devotion my in-laws have for this place. Well...until this weekend, when I felt a slight twinge. We'll call it a crush. I had, for the first time, their cabbage and bleu cheese soup. Forget the mediocre omelette, the enchiladas with too much cheese (I know, sounds impossible), the so-so salad....order up some of this D-lightfulness. A creamy soup with little chunks of cooked cabbage that's not overwhelmingly bleu cheese...just enough to make give it a little oomph. Thanks to this one soup, future brunches will not be approached with such low expectations. Alas, future brunches will give me the chance to cultivate my new crush. Who knew.

Dinner at Taxi's tonight was delightful. My son had the meatloaf and I had the Asian chicken salad and they were both really good. The waffle fries were amazing and the chocolate earthquake cake was super good. Next time it won't be my son and I though. This is more of a romantic kind of place. Grab your other half and treat yourselves to a nice and quiet dinner at Taxi's.

Sadly I hadn't been here in a while ... tucked away in a little strip mall, I often forget about Taxi's. But when a friend mentioned "lets have soup for lunch" I suddenly had a craving for their cabbage and blue cheese soup. This creamy soup hit the spot on a cold grey day. I admit the idea of the soup sounds odd, but the creamy soup, with hints of coriander and just a bite from the blue cheese is WONDERFUL. Upon the "trust me" advice of a server quite some time ago, I order this soup now on nearly every visit. I opted to try the Drambuie Poached Pear & Grilled Chicken Salad. The pears with the hint of honey sweetness and spices from the Drambuie (think anise, nutmeg and was that a bit of cinnamon?) paired well with the bits of blue cheese, crunchy walnuts, onion, and herb dressing. The grilled chicken was sliced thin and was very tender. Served with slices of baguettes, it was the best salad I have had in quite some time!!! I really need to remember to go here more often!

The menu is simple, the food is fresh, and the service staff is very nice. I have had soup, salad, and a few of their sandwiches and all were very good. Not a place I ever crave, but not a place I ever say no to when invited.

Both times I've been to Taxi's for lunch I've been impressed. Today all the lunch specials sounded so good I wanted to order them all but settled for mac & cheese (with 5 cheeses). Not as good as Mark's, but definitely in second place. The iced tea was also fantastic... not sure why I was so thirsty but I had 5 of them (which I was only capable of doing because our server was VERY attentive). They were also very, very fast. No more than 5 minutes after we ordered (quiche, sandwich and mac&cheese), the food was on the table. I actually thought to myself, "that can't be ours, it was way too quick". Maybe as I go here more I'll more it up to 5 stars...

Went in for lunch with a gang of people. Staff very attentive and all of our party offered different entrees. I had the grilled salmon salad which was fresh and delicious. A few of the gang also, commented on the soup, offerings that day being very good. Will be back.

My latest addiction at Taxi's is this waffle-fry appetizer. I forget the name, but it is basically a mountain of waffle fries covered in Gorgonzola cheese and some southwest sauce. It's the bees knees.

Great dinner. I have driven by this place countless times without realizing what a fantastic Omaha restaurant I have been missing. Unique decor contributes to the dinning experience. Wait staff were well trained in formal dinning presentation. Food was memorable because of complexity of flavors in each dish. Excellent recipes that have flavors that are well thought out and perfectly balanced. Excellent first experience. Would rate as a top dinner location in the metro area for e everyday relaxing meal.

I'm pretty sure my review here would be four starts had we not been so vehemently snubbed by our waitress. While we obviously did not look like the typical patrons (think Alaskan cruise ship dinner crowd) we definatey didnt show up looking like punk rockers from the London underground...so I'm not sure why we received such atrocious service. Myfriend that recommended the place said he has always had excellent service at Taxi's and that last night was an anomoly...but agreed that our waitress was a)purposely avoiding us or b)purposely avoiding us. Either way I rarely skimp on tip, but felt it was more than necessary to give this woman only 12/13%. I felt like I was experiencing reverse ageism...weird. Onto the food...of course the waitress got my order wrong- but I didnt send it back since it took so long to get..I just dealt with it and it wasn't a horrendous mistake (I asked for dressing on the side not drenched over my salad)...one guest had a bone in their seafood enchilada that was overly saturated with cheese (he didnt care for his meal)...one guest had a tuna melt that tasted more like a deviled egg melt (I sampled it so I know-the waitress also did not inquire as to why he didnt eat his meal and did not want a box to take it home in either) and the other two ordered the nightly fish special and had no complaints... Will I give this place another try-probably not-since I really have to want to make a hike from downtown to get there...I just didnt feel welcome there...sad because the place received such great yelp reviews and has two good articles about them on omaha.com We all can't be winners; I still refuse to praise mediocrity.

One of the best places in Omaha to go for every meal! They combine lots of interesting ingredients in their recipes and it works every time. I've never been disappointed. From the French toast to the drambuie poached pear salad to the patty melt, everything is just fantastic. Make a reservation if you can as this Omaha gem gets busy.

Everything I have at this restaurant is amazing. This morning's artichoke and bacon omelette was divine. The hollandaise sauce was an excellent touch to the creamy, fluffy eggs. I practically licked my plate clean. I had the brownie sundae for dessert. The brownie was excellent; not too sweet, moist and delocious! Perfect for any meal you should give Taxi's a try. One of the best restaurants in Omaha.

Delicious Large taxi salad with salmon! Amazing flavors and freshness. We almost left while waiting to be seated, because of a seating etiquette faux paus, but they were extremely apologetic once the incident was brought to their attention. We stayed and enjoyed the fresh food and polite service. The lavosh appetizer was phenomenal with grilled chicken, Havarti, artichoke hearts, served over crispy lavosh. Then the salad was mouthwatering with perfectly cooked salmon and fresh crispy romane sliced almonds, mandarins, and a deliciously light olive oil based dressing. I recommend Taxi's! I'll be going back for more.

My wife and I met another couple that are good friends of ours here for dinner. The service was fabulous. Our waiter was very attentive and didn't mind repeating the specials for me as they all sounded so good it was hard to decide. Since two people already ordered the tempting halibut I opted for the mahi over refried beans and an open face tortilla with pico and basmati rice. Very good item, I would highly recommend it. I was a little surprised with the rice but it was a great addition. My wife had the tuna tacos. Although the tuna was delicious and perfectly cooked, there just wasn't enough of it to go around. Only three little pieces per taco. The half booth we sat in is in serious need of some new springs or cushioning. Unless, that is what they are going for. It did feel like I was sitting in the back of a taxi. The wine was excellent and the service was so good it is worth mentioning again.

By far one of the best brunch spots in Omaha. Eggs Benedict is one of their specialties and they offer several different forms, including one with crab. Their lunches are good as well, but not as differentiating from other restaurants in this style. I have not yet been for dinner. Mixed opinions on this place. Overall the food was pretty good. Lunch salads, soups, sandwiches were pretty good. But, the place is scummy, and cheesy...it turned me off enough to not come back. Service was pretty good.

My favorite restaurant in Omaha. Great menu variety and exceptional food. Service is also exceptional. Good atmosphere. I can't believe people will line up at Le Peep a few blocks away when they can get a far superior breakfast for a similar price. Potatoes are fresh and crispy (Le Peep's seem frozen and soggy). But, we eat here far more often in the evening. It is a relaxing, pleasant environment with reasonable prices.

We ate here on a weeknight. It was odd because I think the average age of the patrons was well over retirement age. The beer selection was not the best. Otherwise our experience was good. Our meals were simple. Loaded fries were great. My crab cake burger was delicious.

One of the best brunches in town! This place isn't kid friendly, but is a must stop if you're looking for a gourmet breakfast. The shrimp and crab omelette with breakfast potatoes was awesome. I highly recommend a side of the French Toast with any entree - best in town for sure. You also can't go wrong with any of the Eggs Benedict dishes.

Taxi's is my favorite brunch joint in Omaha. My girlfriends and I like to come in on a Saturday morning and do brunch at the bar with mimosa's. I have yet to be anything but extremely happy with the food at Taxi's. Not only is the food great, but the vibe is excellent and the staff are funny and friendly. We always get some really great chats going with the bartenders and end up staying for more than a few hours. Don't miss out on anything covered in their delectable hollandaise sauce. My mouth is watering. I am a Taxi's regular and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Try it, love it, never look back.

I went to this restaurant to prove to my friends that brunch is and always will be the best meal of the day. Taxi's did not fail to deliver (although my friends failed to order alcohol. Blasphemy!). I had the omelette of the day, but some of my friends had the Grand Marnier french toast that was to die for. Also, our waiter was hilarious. I think for a classy brunch with somewhat of an older crowd, this place is great.

Very good food. Not child friendly so beware of that. The server was attentive but the food took about 45 minutes to get out to us so that along with no kids menu made the experience not as good for us since we had our kids with us.

Great place for brunch! Every now and then I make a point to have brunch at Taxi's. They always offer a few specials that are creative and tasty, in addition to their regular menu that offers up much of the same! Brunch last Sunday didn't disappoint! I ordered the Quiche Lorraine which arrived at the table piping hot. The quiche was awesome and came with a side of fresh fruit that I opted for instead of the breakfast potatoes. One of the specials on this Sunday was an omelet with asparagus, bacon, havarti cheese and hollandaise sauce. Other diners at my table had this and really enjoyed it. I sampled some from one of their plates and thought the flavors worked well together! For dessert a few of us ordered a slice of French toast. Now I know how odd that sounds, but until you have tried Taxi's French toast you will not understand. This is the very best French toast I have ever had. It is made with Grand Marnier, and as my dining partner said, "is a little slice of heaven!" It comes out steaming hot and has an oh so enjoyable crunch to the outside that gives way to a tasty hot center. On every visit to Taxi's for brunch I make sure I save room for a slice of French toast for dessert!

My wife and our friends went to this place for the first time for dinner this last Saturday night. Needless to say we were surprised at the quality of their food. I had the Velvet Chicken dish, it was very good, perfect portion size. We had a Caesar salad before, it was the best I ever had. Ambiance was nice, noise level perfect for carrying on a good conversation, service was excellent. Prices on all items were fair for the quality and portion size. I would definitely recommend this place

Taxi's is one of those places (for me) that you just drive past, don't pay attention to, and then read about how good it is and think, huh, I should go there. Well, I finally went there and found out that I have been missing all this time. We had a party of 6 for lunch at 11:30 and were able to get a table right away. It wasn't too long after that that bigger groups would have to wait (or call ahead.) The decor was nice "restaurant standard" if that makes sense. Think of a nice place and you have the decor. Our waiter came to our table took our drink order and told us about the daily specials. Usually when there is a lunch special it is one dish, maybe a soup and salad combo etc... She listed off 4-5 different lunch specials. By the time she hit the third I had forgotten the first. Two in our party had salads. Not only did they have some volume to them, they also looked fantastic. Homemade dressings were great (and a plus in my book.) The salads were easily big enough for a second meal. Another in our party had what surmised to be steak frites. It was cooked as ordered and came with a salad. My thought... skip the steak. Two people had sandwiches that were on par with the rest of the table. It didn't look like you could go wrong with anything. I ended up with fish and chips. I should have skipped that. Nothing special, not memorable, just OK, etc.... I should have gotten a salad or sandwich. The soups I do have to mention. Obviously homemade. Choices on our visit were a black bean soup and a cabbage blue cheese soup. Sound interesting don't they.... Lunch prices were average and glancing over the dinner menu, those prices seem to be very reasonable as well. I'll be back (got that in your head now, don't I!) Hasta la Vista, Baby!

Had brunch here today - tried the omlette special (eggs, cheese, quacamole, and pico de gallo). It wasn't revolutionary but it hit the spot. Service was good. I was surprised at how much of an older crowd it was though - can it be a post-church crowd at 11:30 on a Sunday? Either way, the place was PACKED so reservations were a must!

We ate brunch here today and it was great. We had Eggs Benedict and Eggs Blackstone and they were both very good, my only comment would be the english muffins are sweet, some of us liked it and some thought it was unusual. The breakfast potatoes were fantastic. The waiter and hostess were friendly. All table were full the entire time we were there.

Dinner at Taxi's last night was wonderful. I "called ahead" for table at 6:50 arrived at 7 and was greeted by the hostess by name! The PM hostess always makes you feel welcome. The lavoh is wonderful, my steak salad perfect and drinks at Taxis's are always well poured!! The soups are lip smacking good!!! There is always a hint of spice that plays with your mind until the wait staff identifies it for you and you say "Oh yes, that's it!!! I do love a vodka martini and the blue cheese and bacon wedge salad there too! I have dined here many times and never been disappointed. The service is always great!!

Wow. We were traveling through and found this gem on Omaha. Food and service were exceptional.
(5)Jeff M.

(5)Ingrid S.

(4)Francisco F.
The menu is simple, the food is fresh, and the service staff is very nice. I have had soup, salad, and a few of their sandwiches and all were very good. Not a place I ever crave, but not a place I ever say no to when invited.
(3)Sarah G.
(4)Steve M.

(3)Scott E.

Fantastic food! Service is always fast and friendly. Try the Salmon Nicoise Salad!
(5)Scott A.
Best brunch ever, incredibly delicious coffee.
(5)K G.
(5)Vincent F.

(2)Ron B.
(5)Josh R.
We ate here on a weeknight. It was odd because I think the average age of the patrons was well over retirement age. The beer selection was not the best. Otherwise our experience was good. Our meals were simple. Loaded fries were great. My crab cake burger was delicious.
(4)David T.

(4)Erica S.
(4)Joan W.
Love this restaurant and can always count on getting a great meal. last time we were there my husband ordered the Meatloaf special....and he was delighted in the large portion, and creamy gravy. This special is truly a delight.
(5)Jeff C.
Very good food. Not child friendly so beware of that. The server was attentive but the food took about 45 minutes to get out to us so that along with no kids menu made the experience not as good for us since we had our kids with us.
(4)Chris D.
(4)Mark K.
(5)Jonathan H.

(4)Neil Y.
Great breakfast, great energy. Casual with white table cloths. Black stone eggs Benedict with jalapeño infused cream, French toast. Yea!!
(5)Scott W.
(4)SM W.
(5)Josh H.
Well, I have to say I'm very disappointed in myself for waiting 4 years to finally try this place.. Stopped in for lunch last week and although the décor is perhaps outdated, there's a nice cozy feel to the place I chose the steak and fries with a side salad which was delicious and for only $13.00! But I learned my lesson no steak for lunch because I almost passed out on my return to the office. The brunch menu looks amazing and I'm excited about giving that a try.. Great service, friendly people.
