This place has such potential, but it seems to have an identity crisis on what it wants to be. We arrived around 8pm on a Wednesday and it was a little difficult finding because the whole plaza had no exterior lights on. Once we arrived we sat ourselves close to the windows and pushed two tables together for our party of 9. Having predominantly small circle tables made it difficult to see everyone but there are larger tables that could seat 8 if you squeeze in. Cleanliness doesn't appear to be a main focus but it wasn't enough to make us go elsewhere (sticky menus, floors, tables, etc...). Service was just like previous comments, acceptable. Taking into consideration we had 9 in our party the speed of service was relatively quick but the attitude was poor. Food was good - not great but definitely not bad either. I would seek other places out first, but I wouldn't oppose going here again.

We frequent this tanners location quite often as it is close to our home. Generally get good service and find the food to be typical bar food. The chicken lips (tenders) are very good, I like to order the eggy sandwhich. It's delicious! Beer selection is good as well.

Horrible service! The servers have bad attitudes and take FOREVER to bring you drinks! I've never ate there without something going wrong. Also, you'll rarely ever see the same server which means they must have a hard time keeping staff. The maple location is like visiting a whole different restaurant. I would highly suggest going there... It's under different management.

Beer was ok price for a pitcher, nachos were slightly above average. Good service though. I would come back. I couldnt give it a 4star though j on that.

I live right down the street from this place but only end up going about once a month. I always have fun when I go, just not as much fun as when I go to 2 Fine down the street. This bar usually always closes early, which was unfortunate for me because I used to get off work at 1am and wanted a beer on my way home. The bar food is the best in a couple square miles. In case you're wondering (because everyone asks), chicken lips = boneless wings. For some reason I have a hard time finding the theme of this bar. Not quite a sports bar. Not quite a restaurant. I always end up spending more here than at other bars nearby. That patron margarita in the frozen drink machines...I had four of for over $32. I didn't feel a thing. I kind of expect more of a punch for that price tag.

Decent pub grub, good beer selections on tap. Don't really understand the plastic cups but whatever. Food is ok, stay away from the Mexican food on the backpage- bland and really doesn't belong. Chicken tenders are good and the jalapeño cheese balls are addicting. Decent service when they aren't arguing!

The food is great, 5 dollar burgers on Wed with perfectly cooked tots and gooood ranch? Amazing char buffed wings (try Terriyaki) and better on Monday wing night at 50 cents? Awesome! The bad news is their drinks are so ridiculously weak it's not even funny. I get it, you're a family place- it's not like you want to be known as the place with crazy strong drinks, but seriously is there even a full shot in there? Not to mention they charge 4.50 for a well, and their 7-up has been without a single fizz every single time! Fix your cocktails, please! I really want to LOVE this place!!!

Great bar food

The two times we have been here we have had to wait so long for our drinks and the food is not impressive.

Went here last night around 10 PM to grab a drink and a snack. The place is well lit and lots of tables and TVs. We were greeted by them nicely when we came in. I'm thinking this would be a great place for a Husker game if the service is good. We sat at the bar. Looked to be the more comfortable padded chairs. All the rest of the tables (high top and regular) were either wood stools or chairs. But again, a lot of seating. The bartender was very accommodating and paid good attention to us. But the place was relatively empty. It was later. Good selection of on tap beers. I prefer a good IPA and they had 3 to choose from. And they had a full bar as well. Food seemed somewhat limited to bar type fried food and burgers, but they did have Fish Tacos and we had their Tator Tot Nachos. Those were pretty good and different than most places. They also had outdoor seating which was nice. We didn't sit there so I don't know the TV status outside. Depending on the service and experience on a Husker Game Day I may have given it 4 stars, but it was pretty good any way.

Food is good. Service is not. I recently moved to the area of this Tanners and have been there a number of times. Food never disappointed - it was always very good. But the service is consistently poor. The wait staff just seems like they could care less. They spend a lot of time gathering and chit chatting - while I sit with an empty drink. Getting a check was also a lengthy process each time. Wait....one time that part was good. I keep going back hoping they figure it out. I really like their wings! Hopefully they look at these reviews and work to improve. It's a great place to watch a game or meet up after work. They just need some help training their staff.

We finally got around to trying the place and it's right next to where we live. Our friends and family in KC have told us lots and Omaha folk described the north location. When there's a sports thing the place is packed and so we'd never go deal with that mess in the parking lot ot the restaurant. But the other night out looked slow so we went in. Typical sports bar but a more varied menu than most. Took awhile for the waitress to come over....she was surprised I ordered an appetizer...cheese curds. (They came quickly, were hot, and with ranch. I highly recommend this! Big serving.) I ordered a Killian's red and my wife stuck with water (which they quickly served)... send came back and said the bar didn't have that...so asked for a Coors... she's "like a regular ?"... yeah not the light. So then it's like do you want that red too? Uh no. My wife got the regular chicken lips and I had the blue cheese bacon burger. No seasoning on the chicken so you need the ranch but pretty good. The burger was a little charred but ok...way better than some I've had but too seasoned fir my taste. Overall above average food for a sports bar. The service was slow and we had to ask for napkins. Overall I liked it. We're not big on sports bars but this is a pretty good one. Good stuff on the tv's and a pleasant enough fun atmosphere. We'll be back.

The service is so so . A couple times not even greeted. Got up and walked out. Apparently the cooks don't know the menu. If the menu says tomato and fried onions the food should probably come out that way The kid running food had his pants halfway down his thighs and the bartender with his hat on backwards was more interested in impressing the 3 young ladies at the bar than he was in making drinks.

Good food but very slow service. Only got one refill of our drinks and had to get our own napkins and silverware.

Service is awful! My family and I were there for almost 2 hours for dinner on a weeknight. The waitress was trying but she clearly couldn't keep up with the number of tables she had. And I'm guessing that the kitchen couldn't keep up with the orders coming in. I don't care to go back.

This restaurant needs to train their help better. Ask for a substitute for a bowl of soup instead of a salad. Did this because it said you could. We got the bill and the waitress charged us full price for the cup of soup. When I asked her why, when it clearly said on the menu I could substitute, she said the menu is wrong and that's why the charge. I asked to see the manager and she left in a huff. Manager came over and took the soup off out bill; he stated waitress was incorrect....the rest of the time we were there the waitress glared at us. Went back again a month later - same thing happened. This time waitress was nice and took care of it....But did state the menu was wrong...

We were here for our first time last week. Nice place. Very clean and comfortable and lots of big, nice tv's all over the place. Our waitress was very good too. The food left a little to be desired. First off, no kid's menu. No kid's menu? C'mon. This pork tenderloin sandwich was highlighted on the menu and I haven't had one in a while so I ordered it. Not much tender about it. Couldn't finish it. Good thing my son had to order a full order of chicken fingers. My wife did enjoy her chicken sandwich though. This looks like a great spot to watch a game with a group of friends and I'd be willing to try something else on the menu. I'll adjust my rating if they can redeem themselves.

Service was really good up till 11pm when our waitress decided we were not worth her time. Get there early! We stayed another hour and a half and not once did she come back. I thought the appetizers were good but pitchers of light domestic beer was pretty expensive in my opinion at $9.50.

This place is pretty much identical to the other Tanners in Omaha. The food was good (still the third best Reuben in Omaha). I think if you stick to the basics like wings, nachos and sandwiches you will be happy.
(3)Lou T.
Only three stars due to the ever present and seriously lame service. Great lips and pork tenderloin though, keep me coming back!

Food is still good...waitresses on the other hand, some are not so good. Time before last most of the waitresses hung out by the bar, not being very attentive. Last time it was a week day, not very busy, but our waitress was good. They seem to go through a lot of them.

Service was timely and friendly. Food is average. Price is right.

I go here 3-4 times per month. Best wings in town, period...which is one I the big reasons I go back so often. I also like the neighborhood feel and the fact that you can actually have a conversation with your friends without the usual loud bar environment. I agree with what others have said about the service. It is inconsistent. Service at the bar is almost always good, but grab a table and it could go either way. Also I've noticed in the past that the kitchen seems to have varying times that it closes. One during the CWS I called on the way back from a ball game to find out what time the kitchen would be closed. We arrived 5-7 minutes before the time they gave us and were told that it was already closed. Similar experiences have happened while my frieds and I were sitting there. Waitress tells us a time, we tried to order about 15 minutes before that, and then our order was refused. I think the usual closing time for the kitchen is 10, but I've had several orders refused at a couple of minutes shy of 10. I've also on one occasion had the waitress talk the kitchen into making one more batch of wings. So, summarizing, great wings, inconsistent service at the tables, and a cook that likes to leave right at 10. Overall a good neighborhood bar and grill.

I met some friends at this particular Tanner's for the Nebraska game. I didn't know but this place didn't open to the public until the same morning. By the time the game started, it was packed just like the Tanner's in North Omaha. The set-up of the restaurant is similar to the other one with high top tables on the floor near the bar and round kitchen tables in the back on an elevated floor. This new location has much better tv placement which was nice. We sat on the far end facing to large projection screens. The menu was identical. I ordered the beef tacos four-at-a-time while my friends shared an order of beef nachos. I've had the tacos before and they were pretty much as I expected. They're tasty but not great. The nachos didn't look like anything special and consisted just of chips, cheese, beef, sour cream, and jalapenos. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Next to Brewsky's, this may be the best place to watch a game in West Omaha.
